A Chance Meeting (Anyu and Aslen)

Yawning slightly Aslen wakes up in the temple for dragons.
Quietly he reaches into his pocket pulling out a small wooden
flute. He holds it in his fingers looking it over. "Hmm, isn't
it funny? Such an interesting thing" he walks over toward a
nearby river where he sits on the edge of it enjoying the
feeling of having the water spray splashing against it his face.
Lifting the instrument he quietly starts to play a soft soothing
song, as he starts to play the water starts to become clearer
and clearer as the song continues. If one where to come by
they'd start to be drawn into the song that he was playing.
They'd continue walking closer and closer until they were
looking into the river. Of course if they were to look into the
now reflective surface of the water. They'd be drawn into
unless Aslen stopped the song.

Anyu ran along the edge of a long winding river deciding not to
hide alongside the trees. Today was a warm day with the sun
shinning and the water rushing past. She didn't feel the
horrible need to hide away from everyone that could possibly
harm her. Her parents had done a terrible thing of breeding
together mixing to lines of beasts. Ever sense she had been
treated badly by her first friend she decided that hiding was
safer. As she continued to run her long pointed ears twitched in
wonder at the beautiful sound that echoed along the river side,
she couldn't help but follow the melody along the river. Soon it
felt as if she had no control over her body making her instincts
kick in to fight against the melody that started to echo within
her mind. She fought so hard that she slowed her running pace
till she stopped on the other side of the river directly across
from a man who was playing the melody. When she started to look
into the water's reflection she managed to shake of the spell
and jump back to cling to a tree with her tiny sharp claws as
her wide green eyes starred straight at the man.

Looking up at the woman a smile crosses Aslens face vanishing
almost as quickly as it appeared. "I see you've heard this song
before?" his voice portraying no emotion as he watches the
woman's claws dig into the tree he stands looking at the woman.
Quietly he looks into the woman's eyes smiling quietly.
"Nice heart, terribly broken soul" he speaks softly before
running his hand along the claw marks on the tree as he does
they vanish fading away. "so let me apologize for the trying to
lure you into the river, I thought I was alone" he turns walking
away and looking back toward the river where he just sits
looking into the river as though he was hypnotized by it.
"Have you ever just stopped to listen to a rivers heart?" he
asks running his fingers against the rivers surface. There was
no reason for him to stop touching the river. It's heart seemed
to beat the same as his. The made some tears run down his cheek
for once he found something that was almost the same as his
heart. Quietly he turns to face the woman "Would you like me to
play you a different song?"

Anyu blinked at the man moving away quickly when he went to
touch the tree her claws marked. She hide swiftly behind another
tree to peak out at him in wonder. She had run through these
woods many times and never scented or heard another person in
these woods. It was odd that this man just appeared out of no
where, or maybe she had ran to far from her forest. She simply
just stared at him when he talked to her wondering how she
should respond. Would talking to the person give him a reason to
attack her.
She softly nodded to the question of wanting to hear another
song. The ear ring on her left ear jingling softly as the tiny
bells where pulled by the nodding. A soft white feather ran
across her bare shoulder reminding her that staying could cause
her harm. She thought maybe by hiding behind the tree it would
be okay to stay for a little longer.

Aslen nods softly before lifting the flute back up to his lips
quietly imaging what it was he should play. The answer came
swiftly as he starts to play a hauntingly sad song. A gentle
calming breeze comes out of no-where surrounding the two of
them. Seemingly to take the two of them to some place. They
weren't before, the air around them comes to life wrapping them
in a warmth that seems foreign and comfortable all at the same
time.
Quietly the ground grows around them bringing the forest back to
the way it was before the humans came into contact with them. He
looks up at the woman wondering just how she would react to the
strangeness that was going around them. Then as the song dies
away he wonders if perhaps he shouldn't have done this. For this
was an ancient magic lost to time for many many reasons.

Anyu stepped out of her hiding place to stand by the man as the
wind surrounded them. She ran her hands along the air in wonder.
It was warm and comforting as if all the fears she had before
where silly. She watched the ground began to change and grow as
if no hand has ever touched the wildness nature brings. She
listened to the sad song while the earth changed around them.
This was magic, very old magic. Magic she only felt deep within
the pits of her soul. Magic that was before her time on this
land, ancient magic that gave nature life. She looked down at
the man in wonder. She never talked to someone after that
fateful incident with her old friend. Halflings do not belong in
such a place.
"You song.. is sad but pretty...Are you morning for the lost
earth to grow new?" She asked her voice barely the sound of a
gentle whispering wind.

Shaking his head watching the look of amazement upon the woman's
face. He couldn't quite express just what was going through his
mind so he shakes his head. "No I'm not mourning the loss of the
earth, I'm mourning the way she is treated these days" his voice
was sad as he runs his fingers against the gentle blades of
grass. As his finger come into contact with the grass it returns
to as it was, the majestic view stolen away from him. Quietly
he looks up at the woman "Do you know what it's like to watch
the world you knew become the world it is?" Aslen asks hoping
that perhaps there was another being almost as old as he is.

Anyu looked out along the river and forest as a gentle wind blew
through lifting her hair from her back before it settled down.
She watched when he touched the blade of grass and then turned
to her. It took a minute for her to register his question.
"I understand for i do to morn the treatment of the earth for
she is what gave us life and gives us what we need asking for
nothing in return. I seen parts of the forest I live in cut down
to nothing to turn into to tooth picks for the modern day man. I
try to avoid people as much as I can. I am young still so I have
not watched the world turn but in my dreams I can see it. No
roads or tall buildings just a ocean of trees and earth with no
scars...." Anyu said as she closed her eyes.
