Feeling the hand on the side of her face caught Mari by
surprise, and she looked up at Alistair with that exact emotion
scribbled over her face. Eventually her body began to calm, the
dull throb in her head ceasing -- having not known it was there
until it was gone. After several, and what felt like short,
moments the throb in her head was reawakened, though she paid no
attention to it as Alistair's hand moved down from the side of
her face to full on caress her cheek. The thumb stroking her lip
caused a shiver to run through Mari, her bright orbs closing
momentarily to get a hold on herself before they reopened to
find his head leaning in towards hers. Once again she found her
sight in darkness as they closed once more, expecting what
should have happened next.. but it never did for when she opened
them she found Alistair moving away while murmuring his
       apologies.
With a hand resting on his side and her head peering over the
opposite shoulder, Mari followed Alistair down to the first
floor, fingers curling slightly into his shirt. Upon stepping
foot onto the first landing she would detach herself from him,
placing herself down onto the offered chair and smiling in
thanks to him as he sat in the opposite. Her sparkling eyes
danced around the room, glittering in amusement as some people
she recognized from the night before littered the room,
obviously in some pain. At the thought her eyes would dart back
to Alistair, remembering how he seemed to somewhat desire to be
in the brawl the previous night, but settled to spend the rest
of the night with Mari. What he did after she fell asleep she
didn't know; and as the thought was brought to her attention she
figured she would have to ask him later, genuinely curious.
Blinking her eyes twice would rouse her back to reality,
focusing on Alistair who now looked young and childish. Her lips
formed a smile in response to his amused one, his behavior even
receiving a whimsical giggle from the woman. "If you are
familiar with the food, then I'll have whatever you think I
should -- I'll eat anything, I'm starving." Another giggle left
the woman and she found herself placing her elbow on the table
and resting her cheek on her palm, finding her eyes drawn to the
       man in front of her.

When she would let go of his side, her fingers releasing his
shirt, he would frown slightly, but it would quickly vanish.
Chuckling, he shrugged nonchalantly, "I have no idea what they
have in the way of food. Perhaps you should find out, yes?" His
eyes still glittered with that childish glee, though his tone
was serious. While Dracierous enjoyed his little pranks, he
wouldn't apply them to this woman, though she might think
something is up. Not that it mattered, it would be amazing to
watch her try to figure out what it was he was planning when, in
truth, there was nothing planned. He sighed heavily, his eyes
closing as his ears twitched slightly at picking up the woman's
breathing and heartbeat. "Did you sleep well, my butterfly?" He
would ask, opening a silver eye to peer at her. "I certainly
hope so! We have a busy day ahead of us, with buying you clothes
and all. And then, perhaps, I can take you back home?" His eye
watched her closely, wondering how she would react to it, which
would help him in his decision making over the next few hours
       they would spend together.

Brows rose. What had come over him? He was so different now.
Childish, laughing, always smiling. He seemed genuinely happy.
It was something Mari found herself growing more and more fond
of - she would pick this happy Alistair over the grumpy,
isolated one any day. Mariposa nodded her head in response to
the man, a light chuckle leaving the confines of her chest. "I
guess I will have to. I'm so hungry!" The chuckle evolved into
laughter, her wide, innocent orbs narrowing in joy. Eventually
her laughter died down, welcoming a silence between the two. It
wasn't an awkward silence, moreso it was comfortable. Mari felt
safe with Alistair - something she hadn't felt with another
person for a long time, especially a man. Those, of course, were
details she would never allow herself to remember while in the
presence of Alistair. Mari found herself perking up as he
talked to her, nodding her head almost eagerly while she chewed
nervously on her bottom lip. "Really well. I didn't know I was
so tired.." The chewing of her lip grew to a nervous giggle and
she ran her fingers through her blond, tousled hair. Mari had
just relaxed back into her chair when Dracierous mentioned
taking her home. Immediately she sat up straight, brows furrowed
with concern and her eyes set wide. She cleared her throat and
shook her head slightly, wrinkling her nose with distaste. "My
       home is too far away.."
Mariposa had never really though what would happen in the future
       - the next few days. She wondered if Alistair would leave her,
or stay with her even for the next few days. What would she do
if he left? Where would she go? What would she do? The plethora
of questions floating around in her head almost caused Mari to
get dizzy, finding herself closing her eyes and taking deep
breaths to calm her mind. "Please.. don't take me home.."
Whispers left her tongue slowly, blue eyes remaining shut as she
       spoke, pleading.

He frowned at the sudden near-panicked expression and the
pleading in her voice. One of his hands reached out and took
hers, thumb stroking the back of her hand, "Then I shan't. We
can stay here for as long as you want." He shrugged, offering
her a reassuring smile. "Now, go get something to eat. I shall
await your return." He leaned over the table, a hand reach out
to ruffle her hair, ruining her previous efforts of controlling
it; he winked at her, allowing himself to settle back into his
chair as he watched her. While his eyes didn't exactly meet
hers, they did, occasionally, touch but never for more than a
second. He wouldn't let her be pulled into a soulgaze with him.
She would probably die with fright, and if not that, she'd never
want to talk to him again. He hadn't ever soulgazed himself,
though, as he gotten older, he met a few who dared meet him
eye-to-eye. They were left speaking tongues and gibberish,
making warding gestures against him. He didn't want that to
happen to Mariposa. So beautiful and innocent... Well, as far as
he knew. At the thought, a sudden, primal feeling of want hit
him. The slumbering beast within being provoked to start
       awakening.
Sighing, Dracierous suppressed this urge with relative ease. His
fingers ached to feel her hair tangled in them, to feel her body
pressed against his. Briefly, he remembered the way her skin
felt beneath his hands. He regretted not following through with
the kiss, but it was his own fault. Maybe later on in their...
relationship would he make a move, again.

A look of relief took hold of her features when he said they
could stay at the inn for as long as she wanted, and she found
herself holding her tongue back from saying forever. She felt
safe with him, and safer in this town than anywhere else she's
ventured to thus far. Feeling his hand grasp hers, thumb
stroking the back of her hand in a comforting manner, Mari
offered Alistair a small smile, a light pink color painting her
cheeks. Her hand turned in his grasp to allow her thin fingers
to slide through his momentarily, giving his hand a small
squeeze of thanks. Her warm, caring face soon changed into one
of frustration and annoyance as his other hand ruffled her hair.
Mariposa huffed playfully, running her hands through her hair
once more to contain the golden waves as a whimsical giggle left
her lips. It was then that she gracefully stood up from her
chair to get some food, her hand letting go of his at the last
possible moment. She was halfway turned around, glancing
partially over her shoulder at him. "Would you like anything,
Alistair?" Her voice containing an alluring innocence. Once she
was given his answer she turned away and began her trek to the
man at the counter, chatting with a few other people who were
most likely giving him their orders for breakfast and commenting
       about the weather.

He returned the squeeze to her hand, watching her away with a
small smile as his eyes tracked the movements of her hips, the
way her leg muscles flexed with each step. At her voice, he
shook his head, "Well... There are quite a few things I would
like, but no thanks. I'll live for now." And so, his eyes went
back to watching her move, though he was watching the other
patrons just in case one or a few of them decided to get uppity
and take what was his. Or try to. But, he had a feeling that
this inn wouldn't survive his anger at being crossed. Dracierous
had wanted to show these fools where they stood last night but
the woman hadn't let him, which he didn't mind overly much. He
had gotten to spend time with her more. While she wasn't his
entirely, they didn't need to know that; they just needed to
know she was with him and that he wouldn't allow them to take
       her from him.

Mari rose a brow at his suggestive remark, her plump lips
curling up in a smirk that made her innocence dissipate for mere
seconds before she had nodded her head and turned away to get
herself food. As she neared the counter, she found her attention
       being focused on things other than getting herself food;
Alistair. And the longer she's known him, the more difficult
she's found herself thinking about any other thing. His presence
was demanding, something she's never experienced before, and she
was beginning to feel like a little dog waiting on her master's
command - which was exactly what she didn't want to be. Growing
up, she was taught to be independent and strong, but she's found
herself becoming more and more dependent on Alistair, and it was
hard not to feel like that. A small shake of her head roused
Mari out of her thoughts, which was when she realized it was her
turn to give the man her order. Blinking twice, she gave the
small, bald man a smile before clearing her throat. "Uhm.. Do
       you have.. fruit?" Her face cringed at the sound of her voice;
small, innocent, scared. And she only grew even more timid as
the man, who now looked annoyed, nodded his head to the small
fruit bar literally a few feet away. How could she not have seen
it? Mentally slapping herself, Mari nodded her head in thanks
and made her way over to the stand, grabbing a small plate and
filling it up with various types of fruit before returning to
the table, slouching down in her seat with a huff.

He laughed at her, seeing her ask so timidly and then realizing
what she wanted was in front of her face just about. As she came
walking back, he laughed all the harder; tears crawling down his
cheeks, "Fruit?! All that trouble for fruit! By the gods!"
Eventually, he calmed himself and watched her eat, a slow grin
fixing itself on his face as he continued to watch. "Nothing to
drink?" He asked her, watching as he plucked a grape from the
pile of fruit and popped it into his mouth, squishing the small
object with his tongue against the roof of his mouth and
finished eating it before deftly removing four more grapes; he
placed each one against the upper and lower canines, piercing
the small fruit as he bared his fangs in her direction, making
hissing noises as he did so; the grapes' juices escaping his
mouth to hit the table and possibly her face as well.
As the breath left his lungs, he used his tongue to remove the
pieces of fruit from his teeth and chewed on them thoughtfully
as he watched her with wry amusement in his draconian eyes
before getting up and going to the bar, talking to the bartender
idly for a few moments as the man prepared the two drinks. He
chuckled lightly, nodding at the man and left with two drinks in
had: one, clear with water, the other a dark brown with alcohol.
The half-breed placed the glass of water by her plate, "Drink
up. We have a busy day today." He gave her a wink and settled
       back into his chair.

Mari wasn't embarrassed, but she couldn't help the blooding
rushing to her cheeks, turning the tanned skin a bright pink
color. She wasn't used to service like this. Back in her home
everyone picked the lush fruit from the village trees to keep
them fresh, only taking what was needed whereas this place would
stockpile the valuable morsels as if anticipating many people to
come and eat it, when in reality few came and the rest of the
fruit was left to rot. But the shifter didn't let her mind dwell
on it, figuring that she wouldn't be back at home for a long,
long, long time. With that final thought, Mariposa pushed every
thought about home out of her head and refocused her sea-blue
orbs on the dragon man before her. "I think I've had enough to
drink, considering last night," She purred to Alistair, allowing
her lips to smirk and her eyes to narrow playfully, soon
exhaling a whimsical giggle from her lips before settling back
down. Slender fingers grasped a plump strawberry, bringing it to
her mouth to take a bite, slurping slightly to catch all the
juices in her mouth. She chewed thoughtfully on the fruit, and
around this time was when Alistair had placed the grapes on his
sharp canines and hissed at her much like an animal. As
expected, juice from the grapes splattered on her face.
A light squeal left Mariposa's lips, and she whiped frantically
at her face while scooting her chair back on the floor, creating
an irritating screech. Alistair allowed the woman to recollect
herself, the man going over to the bar to get something for
himself - she assumed -, and she was given the time to clean her
face off properly, also being able to eat more of her fruit
       without being interrupted.
She finished off her strawberry, a few grapes, slices of bananas
and apples, as well as a sliver of orange being consumed next,
the juice of the orange acting as a small drink of liquid to
wash clean her mouth - which still had the sting of a taste of
alcohol. Alistair had returned when the butterfly had placed the
peel of the orange on an unfolded napkin she had prepared
previously to hold the leaves of the strawberries. Looking up,
Mariposa smiled at Alistair, popping another grape into her
mouth which she crushed quickly with her teeth. The juice from
the fruit sufficed for now, and she ignored that the water was
there, glancing at Alistair before training her eyes on the
ringing doorway where a couple more people walked in and merged
with others to form one big group. Clearing her throat, and
briefly looking at Alistair, Mariposa nodded her head. "Yes. You
said I need new clothes; however, I don't mind the ones I
already have. I quite enjoy this dress." The words seeped
through her lips like honey, a pink tongue poking out teasingly
at the man before she carried on as if nothing had happened.
"You also mentioned shoes." She trailed off slightly, her
attention focused on the group once more - more specifically a
man whose strong stature reminded her of someone back on her
home island. The image almost made her wished she had never
left, but she had to, otherwise she would have never gotten away
from him. But He was far away now. Mari had to stop dwelling in
the past and look forward to the future, which, hopefully, had
       an appearance of Alistair.
Blue orbs looked sharply to the man, the split second she had
been distracted slipping her mind and her voice carried on where
it left, "Sandals to be precise. But after buying these things,
what shall we do next? It will take up most of the day, will it
not? We should get started now.." A hand snapped out to grab the
glass of water, bringing it to her lips for a momentary drink,
during the process Mari scooted back and stood up. She set the
glass down with a satisfied 'ah' before moving around the table
to Alistair's side, taking his glass, which was hopefully a
little less than half full, chugged it down before slamming it
down on the table and tugging Alistair behind her by the bicep
as she made her way to the door.

The man made a vexed noise, "Yes, yes. I know. You can keep the
dress up you can't wear it every day; it'll get gross and stink,
torn, shredded, etc. Would you want that?" Although he the most
innocent of intentions when he said it, his mind drifted to the
thought of tearing it from her small frame. He cleared his
throat. "In any case, you need clothes better suited to walking
and traveling in; and shoes as well. Especially if you are going
to tag along with me for these next few days. The festival will
be over tomorrow and I plan on being gone before the excess of
people decide to leave as well, creating a traffic jam."
Dracierous almost suggested the Nevernever but knew she wouldn't
last very long; especially in this part of it. Even as old and
powerful as he was, Dracierous still had some trouble managing
the denizens of the Nevernever, and both Faery Queens had
something against him. He chuckled silently to himself, shaking
his head as he remembered those few weeks. Oh, how they had been
furious. It wasn't often the Fae got played the fool, but
Dracierous danced circles around them, despite their way of
twisting their words. But, it was hard to compete with a being
who had a thousand and some odd years of practice.
A hand lashed out, grabbing his glass and slamming it back on
the table before she could begin to drink it. "Not today, and
not this early." He scolded, refusing to budge as he drained the
glass with a few quick gulps, feeling almost satisfied at the
familiar burning down his throat, but it didn't last long and
that few moments of bliss was lost. The half-breed rose and
allowed himself to be led by the small woman. Dracierous wasn't
some dog to be pulled along. And he didn't like people who tried
to drink his drink. He made sure to scowl at her for this,
though the expression was probably lost on her, but he kept it
up anyway, at least for a few seconds more.
Outside, he would allow her to lead but subtly push her in the
direction of the shopping district of the town. He allowed
himself a lazy smile as he walked with the woman, allowing his
presence to encompass the two of them as they walked. Probably
useless but he enjoyed the way man and woman alike skirted
around them both. He let out a soft sigh, knowing this was going
       to be a long day...
