       Gerad and Mors

Contempt held claim to his heart, and grief his mind, as he
thought about the day to come. As the sun rose, sending snide,
loose strands of light whisking through the window, Gerad knew
that on this day, his beloved would appear before him begging
redemption in the face of his darling daughter. But there was
nothing a father could do, when the spring time of youth sprang
the sprung right in his little star's tummy. These were curious
       moments indeed...

Faded-rose-colored lips formed a perfect 'o' as she yawned and
stretched in her bed; the morning light leaking though her
window in individual rays. In said rays, you could see each
minuscule particle of dust dancing. A celestial dance; as if
each were their own planet. For those with keen eyesight, it
would be as if you were watching the earth from space succumbing
to the sun's light in the morning, the dividing line of light
forever trying to keep up with the ever-growing mask of darkness
on the opposite side of the world.
Again, her tiny muscles stretched to rid her body of the
stiffness of sleep. Soon enough, her father would be awake and
searching for either herself or sending Marcel after her. After
having gotten out of bed and dressed, Mors tiptoed across the
glistening-in-the-sun hardwood floors. creeeekkk The first step
always moaned in protest anytime someone put the slightest
weight on it. Gasping and lifting her foot quickly, her tiny
hand clasped over her mouth to suppress the sound. Skipping
carefully over the first step, she continued her silent journey
downstairs, though the hallway and out of the back door via the
       kitchen.
Morning was her favorite; the crispness in the newly-warmed air,
the numerous birds blissfully chirping away and going about
their business. The morning light was much like Mors herself; in
the early stages of her life, so pure and innocent. Just before
the sweltering heat of the day could ravage the plants, and
before the ending where they have to enjoy what little light
they had left. There she sat, Indian-style in the middle of the
       slightly overgrown grass. She loved the peacefully calm morning;
the stillness before the chaotic plans later in the day. With a
content sigh, her lemon-grass eyes looked to the sky to see the
fluffy ivory-white clouds float on by.

So many times now, so many times, he brooded, realizing that his
nature had betrayed the ones he loved. For what felt like
eternity Gerad had lived without expressing or enforcing the
bonds he so enshrined, the emotions and thoughts he bottled for
the safety of his bloodline. But it was too long now, far too
long, and he could bear it no further. Stepping, rather gently
in his old age, from behind a tree --as he had refused to use
his powers after what had happened last-- he sat upon a rock.
Rigid, large, and positioned perfectly, the rock resembled
something man-made, in every way, from its smoothness to its
height; but it was obvious that none but nature could
manufacture something so flawless. From atop it, one could look
over the vast reaches of a natural kingdom, full of life and
vibance. A place like this, it barely seemed possible that
anything bad could have happened here; and it was the only place
he could even imagine meeting his daughter after such time.
That is, of course, if she had deciphered the message he sent.
It wasn't long, nor was it particularly difficult to comprehend,
but it was something only she could know. Many years ago, when
she young, so very young, he had returned from a trip, and she
asked about her mother. Would she remember the things he said
then, about her death, about the place where he took her life?
Perhaps, but regardless, the message had been sent, the words
written and the game begun. Would she even be willing to see
him? Would she even know it was he that sent it? She must, for
without the knowledge of him, of his decisions and foolish
pride, the message could not read. Yes, only she could know,
and only he could have sent it; "Je vous reverrai, où le ciel
est tombé, ne laissant qu'une seule, petite, étoile."

Holding the crumpled paper with the dust-laden secret, Mors'
eyebrows furrowed as she could see him writing the note. The
angst in his heart, the longing for the warm flesh of the one
who had died.. "Where the sky fell.." The sky? Often does the
sun lit horizon kiss the ocean's edge, but, never does it fall.
Throwing the worn paper aside, she would groan out in
frustration as she couldn't understand his words. Though she was
sure of the sender, it's message was complicated- and to her,
       vague.
Wait. The sky.. there's more to sky than just the physical
aspect.. the stars, the moon.. the sun.
The sun. The light of his life.. her mother. As she closed her
light grey orbs, she could feel the cold grass beneath her
feet.. the unwelcome hardness of the rock as she watched him
hold his head in his hands. Sighing softly, she knew he would be
waiting impatiently for her arrival- as he always did, no matter
how much time past. Letting her body grow numb, finding her way
though the threads of reality as she turned to the very basic
unit of existence; trace amounts of star dust. The warm feeling
began where her toes should be.. but they weren't just yet.
Slowly, it spread to her calves.. her thighs, until, completing
it's travel, it made it to her head. The landscape stitched
itself together like a slow-opening film, the colors fading in
subtly as she sat against the rock. Taking a deep breath, the
cold air filled her lungs, as, in the same manner, she stated
       plainly: "Hello, father."

Traveling through void, to realm, to worlds it had been years
since Arcane last encountered a man he called brother. Last
time the two met, Arcane was surprised to see the man had a
daughter., meaning Arcane was now an uncle. A faint smile
placed across cold flesh as the Aruliean continued to teleport
through each realm. Oh how the time had passed, Arcane had a
daughter and son, Gerard had a daughter. "Damn I'm getting up
there in age." He chuckled lightly. Arcane was having a hard
time picking up the energy thread of Gerard, Auburn hues
illuminated as the first stage of the man's ocular power
activated. Being able to see multiple familiar energies, two
stuck out the most, one was faint but there while the other was
sitting a normal pulse. "Mors." Was all he uttered knowing that
his brother would be there as well. A sudden exertion of energy
radiated from Arcane's entity as his speed tripled. Breaking
the sound barrier easily as he was about to break the reality of
the realm where both Mors and Gerard were.
A sudden scream of sound would echo through the realm as about
thirty feet away from the father and daughter a 7 foot tall, 4
foot wide door would open, cracks etching in the air like a
crack on the wind shield of a vehicle. Slowly increasing as it
sudden erupted, Arcane stepped out and onto the earthen surface
as the door that had been created, pieced its self back together
and vanquished . Auburn hues shimmering lightly fell upon
Gerard as a nostalgic feeling over whelmed the six foot six
beast. Remember back to the days when Arcane was known as
Alastor met Gerard in battle from the point on it was history.
Taking down kingdoms and entire worlds together. He smiled
lightly as his gaze fell to Mors, "My has she grown since I last
saw her, and her power has increased devastatingly." He laughed
not expecting any less of the flesh and blood of Gerard. His
arms folded over a muscular chest, as he turned his attention
       back to Gerard.
"Brother, how long has it been?" Simple words formed with a soft
       tone.

"Mors," he began, before a resounding boom interrupted.
Standing hurriedly, rather shocked at the visage of his brother,
unseen for a decade, now standing within hearing distance. It
was all, a bit...overwhelming. He had, after all, felt that he
had abandoned the entirety of his family, yet here stood two,
and in fact, two of only three that could be. Naturally his son
was missing, as he cared very little for his father. Yet in
considering him, Faie was probably not far behind, as he had
always been watching his sister, even despite everyone thinking
he, like his father, had disappeared. "I...I'm glad to see you
both," he began, but it was truly too much. Collapsing, falling
from the rock and splashing against the soft dirt beneath, Gerad
could hardly contain the tears. "I...I...she's gone. Right
here! I did it. It was me!" He broke down, years of
suppressing his powers and centuries of pretending to care very
little about the bonds he held caved in on him. How was he
meant to recover now? How could he possibly hope that they
would understand; he couldn't! He couldn't comprehend for a
moment why he had left his daughter, his brother, his son...and
even killed his wife. What does a man...no...a devil like that
expect to gain by sending his little girl a cryptic message
about her deceased mother? He was fool, Gerad Miserie, a
       self-loathing, deceitful fool.
