Re: The Bloodrose Empire
By: Crystal Date: September 16, 2012, 9:51 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Even though Crystal was as old as she was and seen quite a bit
of things, she grew up secluded and mostly with her peace loving
mother. Decades, centuries, and other vast amounts of time have
passed by before Crystal actually left the side of her mother.
Even still, the time of her age as opposed to her actual -age-
was vastly different than what people are used to. Even though
she's OVER NINEteen THOUSAND years old, her actual age in her
own years is around twenty. She was treated as a teenager for
all those thousands of years, which caused her to be sheltered
and not fully developed beyond her years. She didn't seem to
mind though, and even to her father, Crystal was still 'his
little girl'. Crystal is the eldest of Maru's children, yet she
still seems the youngest in how she acts and how she's treated.
Maybe it's because her sheltered lifestyle that she's come up
this way. Or, she was just pretty slow.. THUS she had the
sheltered lifestyle. Regardless, Crystal didn't seem to mind and
she actually enjoys herself, sometimes.
Times like now, Crystal was coming into herself and finding out
more about herself and her family. What she is and why this was
happening to her. Crystal leaned into her father and listened to
the words that he was saying. She looked up at him, strands of
her crimson hair shedding lines over her face. Big bright
innocent eyes gleaming up into her father's own as she tried to
offer him a smile. "Thank you, daddy. You know, I really had
problems with you at first, but you really are a good daddy.
Kind of mean and strange, but I still love you.." She gave him a
giggle and sniffle with a shrug. "I would love to learn and
grow. I feel like I've missed a lot.." She said, holding her fit
body against his in a loving embrace. Crystal, knowing how her
father was, had secrets of her own, things that she needed to
keep to herself in order to make sure that he doesn't get too
upset; she knew how he was.
Crystal was thrown from her thoughts as her father spoke again,
offering assistance in an even more efficient and hands-on way.
Needless to say, she was a little intimidated, especially her
mother's influence brought about Crystal's loveless relationship
with violence. But, it's something that she needed to know about
and be able to control and even possibly harness this power
within her. Crystal looked out the window once more; maybe she
would be out there now... Or maybe she would be by later, but
Crystal needed to make sure that her father didn't see.. "Okay,
daddy. I can't wait for you to get started on teaching me and
showing off exactly what it is that we could do." Crystal said
with a nod before slipping out of his arms heading to the couch
once more. "Okay, I love stories! Tell me!"

Cherie cautiously moves through the tiny cottage she has been
led to. The sparse candle light casts long and eerie shadows
across the walls as she investigates this new place. Dust sits
in layers and cob webs have taken over the corners and nooks
showing how long the home has been left unattended. Her hip
nudges the back of a chair sitting next to the small dining
table, the moan of wood scraping wood makes her cringe as it
echoes through the room. Brushing off the bits of dust left
clinging to the cloth covering her hip, Cherie sighs and moves
to look out the window. Some where out there is Crystal,
probably talking to her father this very moment. She wonders how
he will handle his daughter befriending a human. She also
wonders how either of the father daughter pair would handle the
feelings Cherie has been hiding for the young woman who brought
her here. It's unlikely that Crystal knows of the emotions that
are felt for her, seeing as the two have been friends a while
now, but she hasn't given the slightest hint of acknowledgment.
Bringing her fingers to her head she kneads her temples in an
attempt to ward off the headache that threatens to form. What is
she doing? She had a good job at the modeling agency in New
York, a nice apartment, friends, and she left it all to hide in
a dusty cottage waiting for Crystal to approach her father about
the human she is harboring? It all sounds ridiculous in her
head, but at the time it made perfect sense. She would do
anything for that girl. Even something as crazy as this. Pulling
an elastic band from her wrist she wads her flowing curls into a
loose bun and walks back to the little chair she was sitting in
before getting restless. What now? Should she just sit here?
Maybe go for a walk? No, Crystal could come back before she can
get back. Or she could get lost. An impatient groan escapes her
soft lips as she leans back into the chair, a cloud of dust
expelled from the stuffing inside. It tickles her nose, causing
a small sneeze that echoes through out the house. Her fingers
tug at the hem of her skirt while her mind travels in an attempt
to pass the time. Hopefully this adventure of hers will not end
badly.
(I decided just to wing it. Hope you guys can work with this.

Nodding to her, holding her closely, Maru smiled down to her;
looking into her eyes, seeing the gaze returned. Perhaps it was
time for him to give up the old ways, all he truly cared about
anymore was Crystal. Gently cupping the back of her head, he
whispered after lisening to her. "I love you too sweetheart,
from here til eternity's end and beyond. You're my daughter, my
little princess. I only want the best for you." Tilting his
head, hearing her eagerness to learn, he could only smile as she
spoke. "You have, but in time, you'll be caught up. Also, I've
decided something. I'm going to be more accepting." As he held
her, it felt like old times when he'd hold her as an infant and
talk to Kit about things.
Nose twitching slightly, he mentally shrugged it off, ignoring
whatever it may be that caused the sensation. It smelled vaguely
familiar, a scent he hadn't smelt in ages, yet he couldn't quite
place it. "Well, alright sweety. I'll teach you. It may be
difficult, but I know you'll get it eventually." Glad to see she
was eager, his eyes seemed to glow more as his ears twitched.
"Alright dear, I'll tell you, just settle down. It's a long
tale. Starting with your grandmother and grandfather on my side.
What I'm about to tell you predates history itself. But, it's
the story of our lineage."
Taking but a second to gather his thoughts, Maru begins to
divulge the story, once going to, and sitting on the couch next
to her. "Some five hundred thousand years ago, the first
Bloodrose King was born. He would rebel against a very bad man
who would otherwise see Zion, our ancestral homeland, burn to
the ground. Eventually, after his defeat, the evil being was
sent to a distant place in a corner of Helion, which is the name
of the place our homeland is, to never be heard from again.." He
pauses, for a moment, watching her, trying to ensure she
understands. "After he was sent away, the warrior who rebelled
took on a mate. They would become the first Bloodrose King and
Queen."
Taking a light breath, he continued. "Eventually, they would
have three sons. Two of which, are your uncles. After the three
sons were born, the king and queen heard word of a troublesome
man who would later lead a fight against them. Some time later,
when I was only a child, my brothers and I would be sent away
from there. Watching Zion burn, we left the Andromeda system,
which is the name of the place which contains Ancient Zion."
Then, thinking for a moment, he continues. "Anyway, from that
time until we became adults, your uncles and I fought to
survive. We had to take down every enemy, or else we wouldn't
have made it."
Remembering it as though it was only yesterday, a twinge of pain
echoes through the back of his mind. "Anyway, it was later
revealed to me, after wondering for many hundreds of years, that
I was no mere mortal being, rather it be demon or otherwise, but
that I was actually a god." Then, softly speaking, he looks
closer to her. "Then, I met a beautiful woman and was taken
aback by her actions. Well, anyway, you were the result of
that." These old memories, they seemed to make so much sense
now, to him. "Crystal, my dearest daughter, you're a
Demi-Goddess. The monster inside is your unharnessed power. You
and I are father and daughter, in more than one way. Not only on
this level of existence, but in that we're both immortal and so
many other ways." Pausing for a moment, wondering if she
understood everything he'd said, he felt strangely relieved to
have finally revealed this to her, and to have liften the burden
on his shoulders. "
(We'll fit you in. ^_^)

---------------------------------------------------------
Crystal could do nothing but smile as she finally seen her
friend enter the cottage from the high window atop the estate.
She seemed to be alright now that she had made it to shelter, as
it was about to rain and the rain here wasn't like the rain
everywhere else. It was heavy and downpours could last for hours
on end, sometimes with no end in sight. She took a seat, finally
content with the situation and was now ready for story time with
her father. It's been a while since Crystal had heard one of her
father's stories and it was refreshing to hear one upon her
return to the kingdom. She scratched the back of her head as the
scent of Cherie, which would most likely be on her too, wafted
through the building and it seemed her father had taken notice.
She began to get a little figgity and nervous, but Maru seemed
to simply shrug it off, which caused Crystal to sigh in relief.
Crystal had informed Cherie, the person who actually saved her
life once before, that her father disliked humans, but it would
at least be safe for her. This, of course, is what Crystal had
hoped for anyway.
"I love you too, daddy! More accepting? That's something I
thought I'd never hear come out of your mouth.." Crystal chimed
in, grinning a toothy grin as she spoke to her father about his
'no nonsense' way of life, which she had grown accustomed to.
"YES! I am your princess, and you best not forget it!" She said
sternly while bopping him on the nose. It was not too long ago
when her half sister, Adela, who was not even a fraction of her
age, tried to vye for the throne that was rightfully hears.
Crystal had been away for years, but that doesn't mean this
little brat could simply waltz in and think she's this and
that.. Crystal took a moment to calm herself, as her calm and
bubbly attitude was starting to shed away slowly in thought. She
cleared her throat and nodded to her dad with another bright
smile. Her wide, almost almond shaped eyes peered up at him for
a few seconds as she awaited his tale. She had never heard this
one before, so she was especially interested in hearing it, for
it was the basis of what they are and where they came from.
Perhaps she could get a better understanding of herself through
this one story.
Crystal listened quietly, nodding while he stopped to express
her understanding. She was gathering the information and soaking
it in like a sponge. It was an interesting tale indeed, for she
had no idea that her ancestry were responsible for the
destruction of their own kind.. She began to understand her
father's actions a lot more, as well as the demon that she had
quelled inside of her for so long. It seemed that she was
destined for this brutality, but didn't have to allow it to
control her or hurt the people closest to her. Her father,
sisters and brothers, mother - Who hated violence more than
anyone-, and her friend, Cherie, who was waiting patiently
outside in the cabin. It wasn't a shabby cabin by a long shot.
It had all the essentials, food, water, sleeping places,
restroom, and even fun stuff like boos. Crystal would sometimes
sleep there when she wanted to get away for a while, since being
off of the grounds were forbidden by her father some time ago.
She often wondered why she was the only person not allowed to
leave his sight, but she never questioned him or his word.
"So... All of this is why I have this? And, why this 'monster'
is inside of me? Because I am a Demi-Goddess with strong and
dangerous powers? Could this power be used to protect as well?
To keep those I care about safe.. Even from me?" She asked,
those same large Fox like eyes returned to her father's in
question. They were glossy and quivering, but a tear dared not
fall from the orbs, even as she blinked. "That makes me happy to
hear, daddy. I would hope I'm your daughter! After all these
years." She said with a giggle. "Immortal.. That sounds very
important!"

Chuckling when she chimed in, knowing it would send a smile to
her face, he couldn't help but embark on a journey of joy at his
daughter's smile. Maybe those whom he'd met in the past were
right, fighting wasn't the answer, this moment was true
happiness in it's purest and simplest form. "I won't ever forget
that, babygirl. No need to worry." Twitching his nose when she
bopped it, he couldn't help but smile now. Having known of
Adella's attempt, but knowing Crystal's destiny, Lord Maru
hadn't been worried in the least; both daughters would accept
their combined destiny. When she cleared her throat and smiled
more, he knew she'd truly be listening this time; for what is
the future but what the past creates? Knowing that even though
this was the beginning of their true journey, together, the man
couldn't be happier if he'd tried.
He knew she had other questions, and he had every intention of
answering them; even though an answer she likely sought would be
answered soon enough. When she began, his ears twitched and his
head tilted ever so slightly to the side; as if in thought.
"That's exactly the reason." Head returning to it's upright
position, some relief coming to his heart now, he would continue
listening to her questions, answering as he could. "That's
absolutely right, pumpkin. It takes time to fully harness and
master them, but when you do, it's freeing and rewarding." When
she asked if the power could be used to protect, he smiled
brighter. "Abslutely. Destruction doesn't just have to be
negative. Since we're both in control of Destruction, we can
sail up and down the river of time as we please.. Though, it's
taxing. When you learn to truly control the power within you,
you wont need to protect those you care about from yourself.
It'll become second nature to you."
Reaching up, he gently cupped her right cheek and smiled.
Lightly caressing it, he then traced up to her forehead;
revealing the crescent moon symbol on her forehead; matching her
father's. As her moon began to glow, with his, he spoke again.
"The lunar goddess is with us. She is the divine being of our
kind. She possesses sight, wisdom, and courage beyond sight,
wisdom, and courage." Then, his hand lightly going back to her
cheek, he allowed it to release and drop from her cheek. "Of
course you are sweety. I wouldn't change you being my daughter
for anything. As for being immortal, any life in which I don't
get to see my darling daughter is one I don't want to live."
His nose twitched again. That stench.. That smell.. that
familiar scent of a human.. coming from the cabin.. Curiously,
Maru tilted his head and nodded to her. "It seems we have a
guest, pumpkin. Any idea whom it could be?" He asked, curiously,
before reassuring her. "Don't worry either, if it's a friend of
yours, the creature's welcome here."

"Gooooood! I would hope that you're not getting too old to
remember little requests like that!" Crystal exclaimed, giggling
to her father as well as herself. Even after she had rested, she
still felt a little stiff, like her bones were trying to find
the right places again. Or as if she hadn't moved for quite some
time. Red hair bounces jubilantly as the daughter of a god
tilted her head in thought, ears twitching silently while
thinking of the welfare of her friend, who she had led to the
compound. She had finally made it and it seemed her father had
picked up on her scent. Crystal had hoped that her father
wouldn't detect her presence, only smell her scent upon her.
"That sounds just great!" She said happily, hearing the news
that her father had given truly made her happy. She wanted to
know about herself, about her history, that she wasn't just a
demon who's only purpose was to kill and destroy. But a demon
who could display compassion and grace. She knew that it'll be
hard to do, hard to realize her dreams, but with the help of her
friends, Crystal would become more of an Angel than a Devil;
something her mother had always foresaw. Maybe it was her
mother's upbringing and constant fighting to control Crystal's
demon since she was a baby and being kept away from her father,
seemed to be what caused her to be this way. 'I'll fight and
train night and day to be as good as you are, daddy! But, you
look so tired! You been sleeping good?" She asked; being the
weary daughter that she was. She cared about her father, almost
as much as he cared about her. Like him even though she denied
it, Crystal had a drive to fight and battle and to see
destruction; it was a constant fight -struggle- to keep at bay.
It was actually tiring. "How did you know?! I worry about
hurting others, so I stay away.."
"OHH! So that's who I feel when the moon is big?! This, lunar
Goddess? She's very strong in my heart, like a loving mother and
she hugs me when I feel sad and stuff." Crystal told him,
leaning into his touch, her wide fox like eyes closing in
comfort. She nodded, but was soon distracted by his realization
that it wasn't just a scent upon her, but the human was actually
there with them. She leaned away from him, prepared to defend
herself and the stranger who was her friend. Though as she
opened her mouth to speak, her father had made a sudden and,
interestingly, odd announcement; he was fine with this person
being here?! That was so surprising, that Crystal was at a loss
for words. She had figured that the man was totally against
humans and would kill them on sight. But, today, now.. Crystal's
heart rose from it's sunk position before thumping happily once
more. "Yes yes! She's.. She's my friend. She helped me and saved
my life too! I was in trouble and she came to keep my company
and keep me safe until I was strong enough to get home."
Crystal's bubbly voice spoke out. "Wanna meet her?"

"You'll do just fine sweety. I'm confident in you." Just
listening to her excited voice was enough to make his heart
soar. It seemed that, finally, after all these years, she'd
begun to come into her own. He wasn't too happy that Kitsune had
kept her from him for so long, but, at the same time, he
understood her reasoning. A chuckle echoed from his chest when
she'd asked about his sleeping, it seems she's grown more
motherly as she matures. "I've been sleeping alright, I guess.
Certain things sometimes haunt my slumbers, but your safety
eases my mind."
When she spoke of hurting others, and why she stays away, the
father nods before speaking. "I just had a feeling, really. You
don't have to stay away." He tilted his head, slightly, watching
her; her tiredness being evident to him. Remembering the
struggle he'd had to go through, to become to warrior he was
today, Maru didn't want his dearest daughter to have to go
through the same trials; a fate he'd give anything to stop.
"We're gifted, Crystal."
Her questions about the lunar goddess was a good sign that she'd
accepted what she was, despite knowing the journey would be a
long and trecherous one. "That's it, exactly. The lunar Goddess
is very motherly. Especially to you, her great-great-grand
daughter." Watching her, listening to her proposal, Maru could
only smile and nod. "Sure. I'd love to meet her, dear. The
creature who safeguarded my daughter shall be a time honored
guest in our homeland." He paused, for but a moment, before
continuing. "I'm very glad you're safe."

"I'm gifted?" Crystal asked, though she quickly switched the
subject back to the Lunar Goddess. She had no idea that she was
a descendant of such a lovely being. Could that be why she had
this affection toward the moon and a distant and ancient power
seemed to well up inside of her being during those moments. Her
eyes glowed in excitement, her body bounced around in glee; so
much so that Crystal had ran up and wrapped her arms around her
father's neck and planting a deep kiss to his cheek. "I guess I
AM special to be related to such a Goddess and fathered by a man
as brilliant as you!" She said. The shock was still there
though, when he said he'd love to meet her friend, the lady she
had waiting in another building. It had to be a while and humans
needed to eat, so Crystal nodded and thought for a few moments.
"I think you'll like her! She's very friendly and makes me
laugh! Buuut. She has been there for a long time, mind if we
bring her some food and drink?" Crystal asked with her usual
bubbly attitude. Without even thinking about it, Crystal bopped
her father on the nose and began to skip away. "I'll be out to
greet her and let her know you're coming! We'll wait for you!"
Was all that Crystal said before skipping away and making her
wait outside. She opened the door, which caused dust to become
unsettled and rise. "Cherrie! CHERRIE! He's not mad! He's coming
to meet you! Come on ouoouuutttt!" She said as she awaited the
presence of her beautiful friend. "Sorry it took me so long, I
thought I'd have to butter him up, but he's surprisingly fine
with you being here! Crystal's got this!" She giggled, hoping
that her friend didn't just up and leave.

Cherrie's eyes flutter lazily open. Panic starts to fill her
stomach as she looks around the strange room for a moment, still
in that sleepy fog. Slowly though, she starts to recall where
she is and why. There is a book laying open across her chest,
the worn old leather backing is cool to the touch as she lifts
it from her body and sets it gently on the arm of the chair. How
long has she been asleep? The candles have burned down
considerably now, to probably half their original height. Gently
she rubs the sleep from her eyes with the back of her hands and
a soft yawn parts her lush lips. Pushing her body into sitting
position from being curled up in the seat, Cherrie stretches her
long body out like a cat before standing and looking around the
room. Though, the look was not for any certain reason, more of
just something of habit now. Something to occupy her time, and
fuel the small hope something else of interest would appear and
catch her eye.
The light sound of footsteps outside the door, followed by the
door itself opening cause her to spin toward the sound. Unsure
whether to be afraid or happy she stays where she is. Then, she
hears that voice. Crystal. Why is it just the sound of her voice
makes her stomach flutter? Feelings for this woman could be very
dangerous. No matter how fine her father is with their visitor.
She will just have to squash these feelings before they can get
worse. They are just friends. Yes, that's it. Nothing wrong with
being friends.
Quickly Cherrie moves into the little kitchen, uncertain by the
other girl's words, but still happy none the less. "Are you
sure? I mean, from the way you had described him, I thought
meeting me would make him pretty UN-happy.." Her slender fingers
fidget and knot as she speaks. Now the time is growing near, she
is more afraid than ever to meet this man. What if he doesn't
like her? He may be fine with meeting her, but that doesn't
guarantee he will like her. With a sigh she shakes her head. I'm
just psyching myself out. That's all. Everything will be fine..I
hope.. Returning her attention to the woman in front of her,
Cherrie smiles. "Alright, ready when you are. "

"Pretty?" Crystal asked with a seriously confused look upon her
face. She was curious as to why this would make him pretty. She
knew -thought at least- that her father would be unhappy, but
pretty?! "I don't understand you sometimes, Cher. I don't
understand how this would make him pretty?! Though through the
midst of confusion, Crystal's wide fox like eyes gleamed with an
excitement that hasn't been shown in years. Her father was
finally accepting of a human! It made her ecstatic. A person
that she could call a friend, someone who had helped her survive
and recover from the horrendous demonic transformation; it was a
miracle that Crystal didn't kill her back then. But something
stopped her... Maybe it was the look of pure terror in Cherie's
eyes, or maybe it was the fact that no matter how violent and
visceral she was, Cherie didn't stop from helping her. Why
though? "Just be glad that you're not a vampire. I think he
hates vampires more so than he hates humans. He seemed very
excited to meet you, so you best be ready for when he arrives!"
She could feel her father's presence and smell the aroma of the
food that still needed to be prepared. She was sure that Cherie
could whip up something nice, or maybe her father would do it?
She stood next to Cherie as they awaited the door to open. He
would have to make his way to the kitchen to see them though, so
the anticipation was killing her. "Here he comes!" Crystal's
heart dropped deep into her belly and she 'squeeed' in
excitement as she awaited the moment; this was so thrilling!
