IN COMBAT
Throughout the history of Angelus Amazon Training the use of
Masks was widely regarded as a safety protocol for the younger
cadets, in this instance, this Apothis Module Training hologram,
we will examine aspects of the history of Masks and their
meaning to the Subordinate and Command class soldiers.
It should be noted that Ranking Officers despise wearing Masks
over their face, more specifically, their mouths due the fact
that it is viewed as an insult to their hand to hand combat
abilities and childish. To further illustrate this particular
hatred within the ranks, We can view the history of its primary
use. During the First Ascendant Age, the reigning Amazon Lioness
dictated that no child will train in the Amazon Ranks until they
were deemed psychically ready by Medical Standard. Hence, those
entering the Priah grade were voluntarily tested. Those refusing
the test would immediately be recommissioned as Centaurii Female
and Scholars rather than Warriors. The Lioness of this era
believed that no Warrior should ever question themselves when
entering the Amazon Academy and the Teaching of the Amazon way
would cease once an Amazon child chose not to fight rather than
study and become a Scholar. In the Beginning of her first Amazon
Academy, Elizabeth Amadeus commanded that any teenage Cadet
entering Combat training and Temporal Mechanics Studies would
Wear a mask over their face, bearing the mark of their House and
Name.
Until they graduated to the next wave grade, the mask would be
bound and worn at all times whether training or studying. This
means by entering the Priah Grade for Amazon warriors, you will
be required to wear a mask until you graduate to a Junior grade,
so called Osirah.
Toward the second year of the inception of the Amazon Way into
Ancient Oahn Culture, Elizabeth faced many challenges training
and teaching with regards to complaints registered by both
Parents and students.
To quell this unrest and to finally settle the matter, she
summoned her best Senior Cadets to a public combat event where
the people residing in The Capitol City of Oahnaii would freely
enter and take witness.
The Seniors would face off against the Priah cadets, twice their
Subordinate class as the Senior classman were Simitara Class.
During the first such public combat display, the parents groups
were furious as to the different ages and weight classes the
children were against. Seemingly, they thought it was unfair to
pair a preteen against a near adult in hand to hand combat.
Elizabeth did not see it this way and addressed the crowds both
in the stadium and through the first public media forum invented
by her house, called the flat view broadcaster.
The speech, referred to by students to this day, called
The Silent Rage Speech
"To the nation of Oah, as your eyes can see, a child faces one
greater and more experienced and you say it is unfair. The
beings among the stars are larger and heavier than we are, but
we are stronger through the Way. I've yet to be defeated by the
alien beings your children will come to encounter but they will
face them one day. This test is fair because your children will
build on their fear! Use that fear and your pain to grow
stronger! Knock us down and we get back up learning more! You
see a child fighting an adult, I see a learning warrior facing
off something bigger WITH NO FEAR! I am preparing my students
for the time they will face bigger obstacles, bigger problems
and face their fears until no fear remains! If it will silence
your complaints, I would command that no child entering Priah
testing will do so without a mask so as not to damage their
face. Let this be the Way!"

Henceforth, Wearing a mask of your house is required to this day
seven million years later. Seniors who face off against an
opponent in an honor match for House Dominance will often call
the Priah Rule if they face against a Junior of Rank. This
means, even if you graduate to a Junior level, you cannot
challenge a Senior unless you're prepared to wear a mask against
them, and a Senior who challenges any lesser classman can force
that classman to wear a mask.
The current opinion is that it's childish and that only cowards
wear masks. Senior Classmen regard combat as an honor but will
not tolerate a student bleeding on them as it is an insult, and
dishonorable to have a weaker beings blood on them. However, in
spacial conflict or off world combat, the use of a mask is
necessary as again, the blood and air of a weaker or lesser
being is thought of as insulting.
To have an aliens blood on your face or person is disrespectful
to the being you are fighting as well as yourself. Students are
trained to accept that they are subordinate and must never
question a higher ranking Officer and often are taunted by a
Senior.
This is the reasoning behind the hatred for masks in combat
training as opposed to off world combat.
