A new start

Anastasia loved sitting on the edge of town, it was one of her
most favorite places to be. She was glad that her place wasn't
really in town, but it wasn't so far off that she couldn't walk
to get what she needed. She sat on one of the white benches that
was placed just at the entrance of the town. Next to her was a
beautiful rose bush, which seemed to bloom a numerous amount of
colored roses. She had found it odd that she could plant
something so beautiful and miraculous. Most people in the town
marveled at the roses she had in her own home so she had took it
upon herself to plant a bush just at the entrance of the town.
She wanted everyone to know that even though this was a odd
town, that it was beautiful none the less. It represented the
beauty and also the different types of people of the town. She
allowed one of her fingers to grace the tip of a rose, sliding
it down to caress the petal. A soft and gentle smile graced her
lips as she let go of the rose.
Anastasia looked up for a moment, her eyes glancing around the
open area before her. Her bright blue orbs seemed to flicker
with delight as she watched a young mother with her children
playing in the field of flowers in front of her. A soft sigh
escaped her lips as she realized that was all she truly wanted
in the world, to be a mother. She had a feeling it was never
going to happen because people seemed to find her odd. Granted
she was an odd young woman but her friends never seemed to mind
it so much. Her eyes went from a brilliant blue to a vibrant
green as she turned her attention away from the family for a
while. Perhaps she should find her way home for a while, before
her own sadness engulfed her once more.
Anastasia walked away from the rose bush and bench she had just
been previously sitting on and walked away from the town. Now
was a time where she was happy she had lived on the outskirts of
town because no one ever seemed to bother her as she was walking
home. Most of the towns people stayed within the town and never
seemed to venture away. They only seemed to come to her when
they needed healing or had problems they thought she could
solve. Another sigh escaped the womans lips as she ran her
fingers through her curly locks*" One day I will find someone
who appreciates me for who I am"*She continued her walk, placing
her hands inside the pockets of her white sundress as she
strolled along.

Christopher stretched and sat up against the tall oak tree had
been resting under. He noticed the sun getting lower, painting
the sky in purples and oranges, he had slept far later than he
anticipated. He then turned his attention to the woman leaving
the entrance of town. Anastasia, he recalled. She was an odd
one, even compared to the residence of this dreary town but then
again so was he. He started to wonder how one could live on the
outside of town, how lonely and isolated it would be. He shook
his head clearing the thought. He had a job to do.
Christopher rose to his feet, brushing the grass off his long
black trench coat. He tipped his hat down on his face a sign
showing that he didn't want to be disturbed and walked over to
the bench. Glancing down he took in the rose bush. Christopher
had to admit Anastasia had a gift. He inhaled deeply. the smell
was incredible, each coloured rose had a different smell but one
not over powering the others. Christopher reached down and
started spreading the branches, biting his lip in concentration.
Until he found it, he gave a gentle twist releasing it form its
stem and lifted it to his face to see his prize better; A
beautiful, light blue rose. Reaching into his jacket Christopher
withdrew a weathered book; its spine cracked and its pages
yellowed with age. Opening it on a free page he inserted the
rose , closed it up gently and placed the book back in his
jacket. He smiled, another unique rose for his book to be
pressed later.
Christopher turned and started back home, a sharp pain shot up
his arm causing him to wince. He looked down at his left hand,
his face furrowing with confusion. His palm was cut, most
probably from the rose bush but was curious was that
multicoloured lines were snaking along his hand from the
affected area. He felt sweat drip down his forehead.
Christopher was stunned he had never seen nor heard of anything
like this before and now he was sweating, on such a normal day.
He need to get his condition checked and he knew the only person
who could. Clutching his wrist Christopher hurried down the road
away from he town.

It was a five minute walk to her house and she took the time to
stroll casually. She was not in any type of hurry for she did
not have any visitors and she hadn't really much to do around
the house either. A soft sigh escaped the young woman's lips as
she kicked a tiny rock that was in front of her as she walked.
Her moods seemed to be all over the place and she had not the
slightest clue why. She wanted to blame it on her lack of
socializing lately but she couldn't do that either. She had
chosen to stay out of town for a few days because most people
overwhelmed her when she decided to make her way into town.
Everyone knew what she could do or they at least had heard
rumors of her powers and that either scared people away or it
caused people to flock to her side when she was near.
She finally reached her home, a gentle smile gracing her face as
she stood in front of it for a moment. Her house was huge, no
one seemed to understand why she had a house so big when she was
the only person occupying it. She always wanted a big family so
when she had the money she bought a big house because one day
she wanted to fill the house with children. A soft sigh escaped
her lips as she walked up on the porch. It was her favorite part
of her home because it wrapped all the way around her house. She
took a few steps and sat down on the porch swing; kicking off
her shoes and gently swinging back and forth.
Anastasia closed her eyes for a moment, allowing the gentle back
and forth of the swing to calm her troubled mind. A sigh escaped
her soft pink lips as she dosed off into her own little world
inside her mind. A place where she had a huge family and was
sitting in the exact spot she was in now, watching all of her
children play in the front yard. This was what most of her
dreams consisted of and a part of her loved it but another part
of herself hated waking up from her daydreams to realize none of
it was real. When would she have a family, would she ever have a
family? Only time would tell
