Long Day's Work

For some excruciatingly odd set of advents they had sent him
here; the Bayou's of the good ol' red white and blue. The young
man of only twenty three stood in the center of a bustling
street. Cupping his eyes as he looked onward.
"Yaa... Let's jus' come 'n down to the bayou! We can learn
voodoo!" he practically spat out the words in an annoyed huff.
Dropping his hands to his hips in defeat; lazily walking down
the street. ".. Just a bunch of chilli.." Rolling his eyes as he
simply carries on: awaiting for the next deal to be struck.

What the boy hasn't noticed was that he had been followed.
Rather closely at that. Not many came looking the way he did nor
does someone surrounded by such an aura. Stepping out around a
corner he was just about to come out of was a woman. Thick black
hair tied up in an odd fashion. She was tan and was barefoot,
her feet looked muddy, she looked mudy. Her clothes were
tathered and she wore strange bracelets made of small bones. She
began to wave her wrist in a exotic dancing motion as if to draw
him in. She could feel the spirits around him. The presence of
the past. Prehaps what he was fleeing?
Red decorated her eyes, like face paint. Yet her eyes looked
hollow as if she had no emotions. They were goldish or maybe
orange. The people refered to her as Akadia and she was ripe in
all forms of dark magic.
Akadia did not speak to him in tongues, she entered his mind
with her erie voice. "Jackie." The voice echoed on after each
pharse "they tell me your secerts." She stopped dancing and she
held her hand out and quickly retracted. On her guard she
awaited to see if he would defend the accusations.

Jackie could only let out another groan: furrowing his eyebrows
in a glare towards the woman. Scanning over her lovely...
Fabrics. "Gre-" Though, his words were quickly replaced with a
laughter: sure to look insane to the populous if he didn't
accomplish that already.
Shaking his head in an amused disappointment he exitted the
street and approach the woman. Following into gestures. "Heh...
Listen up, love. I seen this movie 'fore. You ain't find nothin'
ta sell." he said as he patted his chest a bit. "But, how can we
do business?" his dark brown eyes looking down to the pile of
dirty cloth and jewelry

"I have much to... sell.. To the right buyer. But I don't think
its my jewelry you want. The ghostly voice whispered in his head
again. Akadia's hand reached out to him; but this time it held
in it an odd looking carving made out of wood. The carving began
to moan in agony, a sound that seemed to only be heard by them.
"I can sell you..souls. Souls that could make you...
evermore stronger? They are mostly dark souls...but I am a
collector. Not interested in voodoo? I can make you...whole
again...but that's going to...cost you..."
