The floating fortress, Moon's Spawn, drifted lazily through the
sky; breaking apart the clouds and scaring the birds -though
they oft found haven within the fortress's own garden and trees.
The singular inhabitant sat at the edge of island, white hair
dancing idly with the gentle breeze. Although, to say that this
was the sole resident of the fortress was the only one would be
a small lie, as the Dragon next to him was just as sentient. It
took up most of the courtyard, the size not quite comprehensible
to the human mind. Dark scales glittered with fiery magic;
lances of yellow and orange shooting through like meteors and
specks of white twinkled like stars.
The eyes were intimidating, depthless in their wisdom and
hunger. As black as coals with a raging inferno within.
The Tist Andii was just as dark as the dragon, his features
draconian in nature. Scales covered the forearms and twisted
along the backs of the arms to cover the middle of his back;
torso was just as covered that moved to his neck and along his
jawline and cheeks. His thighs and calves were just as scaled.
Horns protruded from beneath his ears to ride along the jawline
as well as smaller ones rising from the hairline of his forehead
giving the impression of small antennae.
Andromander was one of the few remaining Tiste Andii's
remaining, the others home, sheltered and repopulating in their
Realm of Darkness. He was but a dinosaur in the midst of humans,
no longer needed and cast aside. None cared, tolerating his
existence given all he had done and sacrificed; alluding him
with praise and titles and riches and women. It was nice, for
awhile, until he grew bored.
He cared little for how they treated his Dragon, knowing it was
out of ignorance and fear, but nonetheless trifling. Sometimes
his dissatisfaction ended with a few deaths.
He sighed.
A hand lifted itself to stroke beneath the dragon's chin; a
rumble of thunder purring from its throat. He began to hum in
tune with the Dragon.
At his other side another noise began to spawn into existence,
the sword of bone, made from his own left hand, keening with the
two friends.

Sol smiles as he notices the man didn't care for modesty in
trading names. He saw the bug fly around the man's line of sight
being rather annoying. Volse would channel a current of wind
bringing the bug to his hand trapped in a vortex of wind to
remain unharmed. He lifted his hand to generously give to the
man who spoke of Phoenix land as if he knew it by heart.
"Well if it is near the lava I don't think I can get it being
that wind only strengthens fire. So since I have this bug, maybe
you could grab the flower for me? I would be so humble and will
treat you to lunch even."
The boy kept his hand outstretched for the bargain to remain
trustworthy. Sol had no clue as to what the flower looked like
or even where to look if he would have to travel the crater
filled of magma. He stood awaiting his answer with great hope.

The Dragon inhaled, the deep lungs taking making a small void of
air for a brief moment, before She exhaled; scales glittering a
few shades lighter, shifting a more golden color.
'I smell them too.'
The eyes, closed previously, opened revealing a tri-colored
mismatch of hues; the normally whites were black, aglow with
some inner light. A wild ferocity shimmered coolly, white
shadows of something other danced amidst that glow.
Andromander could feel the power of the Phoenix, the draconian
blood within him burning the veins; his heart pumping that fiery
blood faster. His bones began to ache, body trembling.
The fortress slowly, so slowly, moved to rest above the two
others, though it was slightly off center due to the volcano
they were resting upon; the shadow crawling to a stop, throwing
the area in darkness. He stood, resting a hand, so small
compared to the Dragon's thick neck.
How interesting.
'Stay.'
The dragons milky eye rested on the Tiste Andii before it
shrugged; the motion a total body shudder.
He smiled and let his body slip off the edge, leaving the bone
sword with his Guardian. As he reached a certain velocity, a
darkness so pure it ate light formed around him and appeared on
the ground.
The Son of Darkness was dressed in leather boots and pants with
a cotton-wool shirt. The lack of an arm was noticeable but
despite the handicap, his body moved with catlike grace; his
posture that of a warrior. His race was known for their height
and athletic bodies, and Andromander was no exception to the
rule. he had met few taller than him, as he stood almost seven
feet.
The heat hardly affected him, though he looked down at the
dormant beast; feeling the energies within and without. His eyes
closed as a brief moment of euphoria came upon him. His body
relaxing as the wind buffeted him; as if the wind the was only
the thing keeping him on his feet.
Their language was rough to his ears, but it wasn't unknown to
him, though Andromander knew his own accent would sound harsh.
As such, he merely inclined his head in greetings.
Years of yelling on the battlefield had broken his voice, not
that he was unopposed to speaking; he just knew how rough his
voice rounded to the ears of others and chose to not speak. An
easy smile rested on his face, though his eyes were wild with
barely tamed excitement.
It was the freedom that he had long looked for, to be able to
stand amidst others as strange as he himself was. Both of his
brothers were long dead, and the House of Purake long disbanded,
to leave him the last. He was a worn out relic, his politicking
and soft words and strong arm no longer needed. Despite the
women, none cared for him. He was a burden, a tension of wars
and betrayal best left unremembered.
They would call upon him, summon him from his wanderings when
things got rough; when the Darkness became unruly.
He was, after all, the Suzerain of Darkness.
A title granted to him by Mother Dark and her Consort, Draconus.
Mother was long gone, the Darkness itself consuming her.
Draconus trapped within her embrace.
The Tiste Andii sighed softly, looking at the two men, the smile
returning.

Seporo stifled a laugh, smirking as the boy brought a beetle to
his hand using some sort of wind magic. Seporo watched as the
unharmed bug was trapped in this boys grasp and struggled
against the wind relentlessly to get free. "Cute trick. But
that's not the one I am looking for. Mine doesn't fly." His
offer was intriguing though. Break traditions and find the
flower for a beetle he didn't need. Resourceful, Seporo thought
as he folded his arms across his chest and raised an eyebrow.
"Even if that was the right one, I can't. The phoenix spirits
tend to frown, and by frown I mean cause physical anguish if I
were to get any closer than this."
Seporo looked over his shoulder, grumbling as he felt a sudden
discomfort under his skin. He rolled his shoulders and flexed
his fingers out and back into fists a few times. "I would love
to see what is beyond the ridge. And maybe one day I will. But
for now... Can't cross any further." Seporo Twisted his neck for
some relief, and the satisfying pop that sounded brought it.
"Of course, If you don't know what you are looking for I can
give you a..."
The shadows was the first tip. Something big floated through the
sky like a moving island above them. Seporo did not need to look
to understand just what rested on that hunk of rock. The red and
blue eyes twisted together to form a dark purple hue as he
looked to the kid before him. "Well.. not only do you meet a
phoenix of the darkfire clan. Here comes a Draconian."
Seporo flexed up as he watched the subject decent through his
own personal radar and when the third invite to this unexpected
party touched down on the rock, Seporo's wings spread from his
back in two pairs. The red set flashed from the top and the blue
feathered toward the ground as he rolled his neck once more.
Seporo simply nodded back to the man before him and turned
towards the child he was speaking to before. "But like I said.
It's golden and looks like it is on fire. It only sprouts within
about ten feet of the lava's edge and there is a large edge to
look over. What would you want with such a flower?"

" My goal is to use the flower as an ever burning flame for my
forge. I am attempting to use the power of the healing green
flame to create my weapon of choice as a sign of passing."
He would see the draconion as the Phoenix person would unravel
his wings. With a huge smile of excitement, Sol would wave very
friendly to the dragon person. However, Sol would have to carry
on with his task. Letting go the beetle he would jump causing a
huge gust of wind to take him to the other side of the volcanos
ridge to look over the sea of fire.
Sol couldn't see clearly over the vast heat mirage of the lava
and sighed. He began to strip off all his clothes before turning
his upper body back to the others. With a mighty yell and a wave
" I'll see you guys soon.'' with that he would jump down into
the super volcano.
As he descended into the heat, sweat would fall down his body
and quickly would evaporate the closer he got to the lava. Sol
would create a powerful updrafting only to keep himself cool,
but to cause the heat emissions s to flow over him. Volse would
create a second draft of air under him to slow his decent and to
blow poisonous fumes away from his location . About a hundred
feet before the lava bed was reached he would see the ever
burning flower.
Sol decided he needed to do this very quick or else he would
surely taste the burn of death. He used air pockets to jet him
towards the flower and eventually he would land on the super
heated floor that the flower rested on. He would pouch the
flower only to burn his hands rather harsh as well as his feet
from the landing. Being a monk he was disciplined very well
against the forces of nature, so he would take a mighty leap
into the sky causing the lava sea to explode away from him as he
flew into the air. The flower burning his hands almost to the
bone before he reached the volcanic ring on top of the super
volcano. Once he was in a safe location he would quickly drop
the burning flower to scream and cry in pain. He wouldn't even
notice the other to beings in his painful anguish.

The unraveling of the two sets of wings was a curious display,
but the words had piqued his interest somewhat more. There was a
thunderous growl from the island fortress, to which Andromander
chuckled.
'Draconian? I am but a Tiste Andii: Andromander Rake, to name
but one of many things I am called.'
The air broke around his words, as if escaping the jaggedness of
the voice; like broken glass but sharper and rougher. There was
a sense of smoothness to the infliction he gave upon his speech,
but the elegance was lost in his rough translation of the
language.
He watched the boy curiously, his multi-colored eyes shifting to
a singular color that was too reptilian to be human; not that
this man could be considered human, but the cold and bland eye
color left any doubts in the wind.
'Draíocht anaithnid.' His eyes returned to a normal color of
blue and green, mixing and blending within the irises as he
looked back at the Phoenix. 'Anaithnid créatúr, do you also
posses such magic? Are you both ardaigh or remain cailleach?'
The Suzerain of Night bent down, the leather pants creaking
slightly with the pressure, and stroked the ridge of the
volcano. 'This is such a rich land. Do you both live here?'
He broke a piece off and dropped it, infusing it with some minor
element of darkness. He smiled widely, revealing all too white
teeth; a grin of a predator pleased with himself. The element of
darkness whisked itself back up to its creator as the rock piece
had disintegrated. As he looked down into the seemingly
depthless pit, the soletaken pondered awakening the beast. He
had never seen such a beautiful work of nature, but he also
pitied that the ensuing destruction of the surrounding area that
would occur.
They would stop you, Anomandis.
He chuckled, Perhaps.

The Boy was gone for only moments, vanishing over the ridge for
mere seconds. But the seconds warped into minutes around the two
beasts watching one another on the ridge. Seporo didn't flinch
at the man's words, just simply unraveled his arms from around
his chest and dangled them on either side of his body once more.
The purple separated, returning to red and blue for only a
moment as they twisted and swirled back into the mixed color.
The phoenixs' pushed forward against the inside of Seporo. They
knocked him forward and his eyes narrowed as his foot dug into
the dirt to stop himself. Not worth it. The Phoenixes felt
different and the whispers inside of Seporo's head began.
He defiles sacred land and mocks us.
Mocks us...
Mocks me...
Teeth bared as the little monk once more came over the ridge
with his fingers on fire and the flower within his grasp. The
trance broke and the voices stopped as he watched the pedals
sprawled out against the ground where the flower landed. That
was it alright. The kid found himself within feet of the inferno
and managed to not melt away like so many others. If the path
was not chosen, he might of offered the boy the choice.
Instead, Seporo pulled the scarf from around his neck and
strolled over, picked up the flower, and placed it against the
heatproof fabric. Seporo carefully wrapped the flower, admiring
the size and intensity of the bloom and it's roaring flame. He
finished covering the blaze and then offered the scarf to the
young Monk, a smirk playing on his lips as he revealed his
strange dental anatomy. One canine and the next four behind
sharpened to razor's edges. "Here you go kid, you earned it."
Seporo dug in his garb and pulled out a vial of a clear liquid,
tossing it to the boy also as he nodded. "And that. Just one
drop. Should be enough to treat your burns and much more at a
later time. You don't come across them often, so don't waste
them needlessly."
Seporo would suddenly grip his chest, his purple irises breaking
as bands of soft yellow divided the circle into thirds. It was
as if the sudden darkness had ripped a small amount of civility
from Seporo. "This is a sacred sight. I would recommend you
avoid desecrating it. I do not live here."
Mocks us...
There was another presence on the island above, and Seporo did
not feel it until the sudden roar that echoed from the rock just
moments ago when he brought up DRaconians. "You have the blood.
We're able to sense it."

With tears in his eyes, Sol begins to cater to his wounded hands
then his feet. With just one drop on each wound he would feel
his hands still warm from the fire. He would smile for he knew
this trophy would create the hottest green fire ever.
"My name is Sol Volse.... And you just made me the first ever
monk to forge with green flames. I would be honored to learn
your name."
Sol would boy and feel the darkness creep in this land. He had a
small bit of worry in his eye for if there is to much activity
up here the supervolcano may explode. He would quickly get
in-between the two people. With a huge smile and a standing bow.
He would cough and speak up, "would you take enjoy a feast in my
village? It is only three days travel from here. We have the
most delicious fruits in all the land. We also brew the finest
of herbal remedies and teas. It would be my pleasure for you
both my witnesses."
He would jump for joy even though he was nervous on speaking in
front of both of the creatures. He didn't want a random fight if
there wasn't need one.

At the surge of the Phoenixs' within the man, the Andii laughed
heartily. 'Don't live here... But you would fight to preserve
it? No, that would be a justification. Do not worry, for I shall
refrain from plucking your feathers, my fiery bird. We are much
more alike and I have questions I would ask of you, if you could
spare the time.
'Besides, it would not do to soil this child's mind with our
brutality. He is, after all, made for great things.'
With that, he turned his attention to the boy; the predatory
gaze met the boys own, his visage softening. 'Oh rare it is to
see a child so full of life and potential. Even I am taken aback
by your generosity. So young.'
His voice grew weary, the air around him melancholic. Children
were so rare for his kind, and so beautiful. How he'd wish
they'd were more abundant, to ease the minds of those left. His
head tilted, features now growing softer as Andromander looked
upon Sol with some form of fondness, though it was but a quick
moment, passing as if it had never happened.
'What is this monk you speak of? You are a blacksmith? Such
ambition! Truly, are you even a child at all?' His eyes were
wide with wonder. 'What are green flames? Are they unique to you
monks? Or is a race thing? Is the Phoenix-born helping? Oh, what
a sight that would be!'
He chuckled, moving to ruffle the child's hair with his one
hand. 'What it must like to be young again, wouldn't you agree,
Phoenix?'
Andromander had very few memories of his childhood; living such
a long time oft dampened the feel of them, and, while he enjoyed
some reminiscing, he disliked living in the past. Perhaps that
was a race thing, why they were so passive with their aggression
about him leaving, seeking other lands to live in. How he'd love
to unveil Kurald Galain and stake this land as his own, he'd
even go through the Phoenix if necessary, but the boy is what
perhaps forestalled his hand.
However, he fixed his eyes to the man, a hard gaze that would've
chipped frozen granite, 'I am a soletaken Eleint: the first of
my kind and the last. These draconians are but a pale comparison
to the terrible rage I have within. Quell the birds and your
hatred, for I am not your enemy and you do not want one of me. I
have the blood of the dragons in my veins, yes, but it so much
more than that. We are both creatures of pride, surely we can
set that aside for a few days to accept the boys hospitality?'
He looked back at Sol and bowed at the waist, an elegant
movement that was a thing of beauty to behold for such a simple
gesture. 'I would be honored.'
The First Son looked at the other man, 'Should you join us, I
would like to compose a small truce. You are as much of a
warrior as I am so your word must mean something. I'd like to
not engage in a needless battle. I'll not bring my companion if
you keep yours in check. I shall even be unarmed; even going so
far as to say, I shall not bring harm upon this land, and all I
ask is that your birds do not get the better of you.'
Not that Andromander had brought his sword to begin with, to
pose less of a threat, though that was careless had the man and
boy decided to take up arms against him; still, he wasn't
Ascendant without a reason.

"Questions... of me? Only if you return the favor in kind."
Seporo Bared teeth at the thought of this man attempting to
'pluck his feathers' but the gleam in Seporo's eye brightened as
he thought about the possibility of a new subject to study. A
book with unopened pages was a useless book.
The boy's willingness to stand between such... brutal creatures,
as his opposite put it, caused the relaxation of his
outstretched wings, the sets folding ever so slightly in as he
folded his arms across his chest once more. "An invitation?
Well, I don't think I could hardly refuse after such a brave
stunt. I too, will join you in this."
Only after Seporo had entertained the invitation did he return
his gaze to the other. His wings folded away now. Vanished into
unseen pockets in his back as if the flesh crafted a magical
door between himself and the Phoenixes within. "I accept your
truce. For now we will walk as two warriors making peace on the
lines." His pupils spun and separated, changing back into the
hues of red and blue they where naturally. THe voices subsided,
except for the big one. He didn't notice it over the clamoring
before. He turned his head towards the ridge once more,
narrowing his eyes only slightly as his face twisted and became
taunt. 'Be wary, phoenix...' The mental whisper grew weaker as
it proceeded, but Seporo was just able to make out the warning.
He turned back to the two and nodded. "Lead the way, small one."
"And my Name? Seporo Darkfire, first Son of Dems Darkfire,, the
late phoenix god."
