Getsugakure (Hidden Moon)

---------------------------------------------------------
Getsugakure (月隠れの里,
Getsugakure no Sato, Literally meaning: Village Hidden under the
Moon) is a hidden village in the Land of the Moon. Located in
the Country of Water on Crescent Island, Getsugakure is a small
Ninja Village that does not have a Kage, bur rather, a King. Due
to this fact, a majority of Ninja Missions outside the Village
are contracted by the Hidden Mist, which is located to the
Northwest of the Island.
Crescent Island is known for the aquatic life and rare herbs
that grow on and around the island. Rare gems and pearls are the
primary export of the Hidden Moon. Even with it's small military
force, Getsugakure fares exceedingly well financially as both a
Kingdom, and a Ninja Village.

Being a Chunin wasn't really all that different. The only thing
that had changed was that now, they were often going on missions
in a team of three rather than four. But Missions were often
trivial, and could be handled by just one of them. Rin loved
opportunities to leave the Village for a mission, though they
randomly came. The next best thing was accomplishing tasks for
the King. If nothing else, visiting the palace was interesting.
For now though, Rin was focused on training. She stood on the
beach, and took a deep breath. Inhale...
Exhale...
The young kunoichi extended her arm before her, and in her hand,
moisture in the air gathered, freezing into a blade made of ice.
It was a simple technique; One she probably could have come up
with without the assistance of the scroll, but it was useful
just the same. In the event she found herself without any of her
ninja tools, she would never be unarmed. She could use this move
to create anything from swords and kunai to shuriken on the
battlefield.
She had already decided on the next technique she wanted to
teach herself. But it wasn't one she could perform using
moisture in the air. It required Ice that was already present,
which was hard to come by on Crescent Island. Of course, Rin
could create her own snow and ice. But the amount that would be
required for this technique was more than she had ever produced!
If only she had gotten this scroll while they were still in The
Land of Iron...

Chiharu was quite taken with herself and her accomplishments
during the exams. It gave her a small bit of confidence that she
was lacking. This though in turn didn't mean to stop improving
herself, so she decided to better her summoning jutsu.
Although it wasn't going so well since before her only sat three
owls in stead of five. Two brown wood owls and a white snow owl.
They picked at their wings and gave out hoos. Even they seemed
to be exspecting more from her but they just hobbled closer to
her as she sat next to the stump they perched on. One hopped on
her shoulder and nuzzled in her long blonde hair. Prehaps their
way of showing her their support.
"Today just isn't the day, don't worry though I'll get the hang
of it someday. Since you are all here we should practice aiming
and wing sight."
Chiharu arose carefully so that the one on her shoulder would
not be knocked off and motioned for them to take to the sky.
Just like a gust of wind they were gone. They even managed to
disappear from sight! One of her owls stronger suit was blending
in and staying hidden, they practiced hard for that. But for
Chi's jutsus to be successful her owls have to be able to be as
the wind or a shadow. Also to make them successful they have to
have accuracy. Illusions require spot on aim and flawless
accuracy, one thing they both lack.
There were targets spread out for them to hit but as they went
to attack, only one hit their target. Chiharu left out a sigh.
"How about a break for the day, five run throughs and we all
seem a bit exhausted. I'll see you all tomorrow." With that
there was a puff of smoke and they were gone.
Chiharu collected her targets and kunai and walked in toward the
beach path that eventually will bring you into the village in
which she lived.

Although they weren't necessarily training -together- It was
comforting that Chiharu was training nearby. She may not have
been promoted in the Chunin exam, but it was clear that she had
gotten a boost of confidence as a result of her performance.
Also, it was good to have a teammate nearby. Who knows where
Shaide was, after all...
After one final run, Chi decided to call it a day, but Rin
wasn't quite ready to throw in the towel. She needed to solve
her problem first. If she couldn't produce enough Ice to
practice her new technique, she needed to freeze enough water.
But the salt water off the shore wouldn't work. She needed a
source of fresh water to work with! Her best bet would be the
lake within the woods. She waved to Chiharu as she headed that
way. "I'm going to go train in the woods for a bit! See you
later!"
It didn't take long to reach the lake. It was the biggest body
of freshwater on the Island, sitting at the foot of a large
waterfall. This would do! She stood in front of the lake and
formed the Tiger seal with here hands. "Ice Release: Swallow
Snow Storm!" she said, forming a flock of Ice birds, which flew
into the lake, each one freezing the water in the area where it
landed. Before long, the entire lake was frozen solid. Next was
the hard part.
Another deep breath...
Hand signs
Bird, Snake, Monkey, Horse, Dog
From the frozen lake rose a Dragon made of ice. But it's head
had barely made it above the surface before it crumbled into a
mass of powder snow. This was going to take some time...

Chiharu looked over to Rin and smiled to her giving her a wave.
Chiharu herself was uncertian of what happen to or where Shaide
went after the exams so having Rin around was a great support.
She continued back down the trail looking at the ocean and the
beautiful beach. Now wasn't the time to dilly dally, there was
other work to be done. The librery closes at sunset and she had
some research to do.
Chiharu may have not someone to ask but surely it had to be
written somewhere. What that boy said from the leaf village, the
uchiha clan, there had to be some form of history maybe even
text about the clan. They are after all no longer are consitered
an endangered clan.
She hurried along down the road faster, basically jogging at
this point and finally reached the village. She could see the
king's palace, most likely where her father was still. She ran
up the stairs to the librery and began to wonder the isles
trying to find the right scrolls, books, anything really. There
wasn't much to find although.. Disappointed she left, maybe she
could be approved to visit the hidden leaf once more. Maybe
there someone could answer her questions. Exiting the librery
she sat upon the stone stairs with a deep sigh. She placed her
elbows on her knees and held her head up on her hand while the
other played with her hair. She just kept pondering the idea
around in her head.

Yuki trained until her chakra reserves had almost completely
depleted. Over an hour and she still couldn't even get the
dragon to maintain it's form! Despite being able to create
swallows out of ice, such a massive change in chakra form was
still too much for her. And that wasn't even the hard part! This
jutsu was going to take some time to perfect... she thawed the
lake out, and headed back to the village.
She was on her way home when she saw Chiharu sitting on the
steps of the library. She looked upset! Perhaps she was having
setbacks with her training as well... Rin made her way over and
took a seat next to her best friend and teammate. "What's
wrong?" She asked. She hated seeing her teammates upset.

Chiharu looked up after hearing a familar voice. "O-oh Yuki, I
uhh well its nothing really j-just was hoping to find out more
about the Uchiha clan. That b-boy from the leaf village I just
keep thinking about what he said. I would like to find out more
but we have no information here. But what about you? How did
your training go?" Chiharu brushed her hair back and stood up,
brushing off her kimono like dress.

Rin looked up at the library after hearing Chiharu's concern.
Despite all the resources it had available, she wasn't entirely
surprised there was no information on the Uchiha. It wasn't as
if the clan had ever had much impact on the Hidden Moon, after
all.
Chi's question snapped Rin back to reality. "Oh..." She
responded. "Not so hot. I can't seem to get the hang of this
jutsu I'm working on." That wasn't even half the story. She
couldn't even get the first step down! "Why don't we ask the
Director if we can make a research visit to the Hidden Leaf?!"
She suddenly said, excitedly. She needed a change of scenery
anyway. She had a feeling it would help with her training.

Chiharu looked down when Rin spoke of her trainxing. Both of
them having such a tough time. Although as she mentioned making
a trip to the hidden leaf her eyes grew wide and quickly her
head jolted back up. "Do you think they would approve it!?"
Chiharu herself was excited with such an idea. "I could get my
information and you may be able to find better places to train
or prehaps some type of assistance with your own jutsu!" Chiharu
pondered the idea more. It would certianly refresh them. It
would be quite a help to both of them and prehaps Shaide too.
What ever he had been working on. Chiharu quickly spoke, "we
should request an audience with them" before turning away amd
quickly darting down the street. She stopped at the corner and
waved, "common Rin!" Chiharu was actually smiling.

Rin nodded her head reflectively. "I don't see why not." She
said. The twilight was becoming prevalent as the sun dipped
below the horizon. With these peaceful times, and the lack of
need for military power, there was no reason to require them to
stay. But by the time Rin fixed her mouth to explain her
reasoning, Chi was already up and on her way to the Director's
office.
"Wait for me!" She yelled, as she got up and ran down the road
after her teammate.
It was only a few blocks to the Office. The director had
attendants there, even when he was out, but he shouldn't have
been gone just yet. In just a few minutes time, the two wouldd
be standing in front of The Hidden Moon's Shinobi Director. As
he was the one who issued missions, it seemed only right that he
be the one they inquire to about such a trip.
When they arrived, the Director was preparing to pack up for the
night. But he was a nice man. He had even personally helped
Rin's family when they moved! She was sure he would grant their
request! After a short conversation, Rin and Chi a five day
research waiver, on the condition that Shaide traveled with
them.
