       Iwagakure (Hidden Stone)

       Iwagakure (岩隠れの里, Iwagakure
no Sato, English TV: Hidden Stone Village, Literally meaning:
Village Hidden by Rocks) is the hidden village of the Land of
Earth. As the village of one of the Five Great Shinobi
Countries, Iwagakure has a Kage as its leader known as the
Tsuchikage, of which there have been in its history. The rocky
mountain ranges that surround the village provide a natural
stronghold that it is very proud of. The village's
infrastructure is built from much of the surrounding rock and
stone, shaped into tower-like structures that are
inter-connected by a network of bridges. The Tsuchikage's
residence seems to be the tallest structure with a cone-shaped
roof and bears the kanji for "Earth" (土, Tsuchi) on it
The demilitarization of the Hidden Stone caused a hit to the
village financially, causing it to lose business to the Hidden
Leaf when it came to ninja missions. In order to compensate for
this shortage in funds, the Feudal Lords, along with the
Tsuchikage, developed a system of international goods exchange
unlike any previously known to man; A system of underground
tunnels that can be used to deliver products across nations in
less than a day. Though the system is currently only capable of
delivering products to the Hidden Leaf, and Hidden Sand, it has
turned a tremendous profit for the Stone. Meanwhile, the Village
is working on building up it's Ninja force once more...

The Chunin exams had been quite an event! Zuberi and his squad
had performed well. Tsubaki and Kizashi had even been promoted
to Chunin! But Zuberi was undoubtedly still a problem. With his
level of control, he could never be trusted to take on high
level missions as a Squad Leader. But an opportunity had arisen,
and the Tsuchikage wouldn't let it pass. He sent a messenger out
to summon the squad. This assignment would be a tough one!

Zuberi had become a recluse since the Chunin exams and his
failed attempt at a promotion. He shied away from even his team
members who had prospered in his stead. Since then Zuberi had
returned to his roots, disappearing into the mountains day and
night in order to home his skills to the max, and to hunt.
Zuberi had become more feral since his falure, but that only
pushed him harder. His muscles had leaned out and the bulk he
had before seemed more taught. Each muscle still defined but
anyone who looked upon Zuberi could tell his body was denser
       than ever.
His focus had created a higher learning curve. Zuberi felt
further than ever in his training and, unbeknown to the people
around him when he did return to the city, he had survived what
should have been a fatal blow from a falling rock some days
past. Though he still stung from the impact, he had made a
remarkable recovery. His delve into the healing technique had
       proved fruitful after all.
Rumor only told of where Zuberi trained these days. His growls
could be heard from one end of the mountain to the other as
people gossiped on how Zuberi was punching the mountain to bring
it down around them. But the messenger would catch on to his
location shortly enough as he read the chakra signature and
followed the trail to Zuberi’s hidden alcove.
When the messenger had come upon the hidden place, he could see
where the rumors had spawned from. Everywhere where rocks and
boulders over a one thousand square foot area with chips and
dents, some even broken it seemed through some force. The
messenger would enter the area but would not get far into the
training area before Zuberi was on him. He came from the left,
using his powerful legs to dive into the man and knock him to
the ground. Zuberi pinned the messenger to the ground, snarling
as he stared at the man with unsettling purple eyes with the red
ring, so close that he could see the exact size of the ring and
how it fluxed with each growl, as if it focused in on the
       target.
The messenger gulped. Zuberi bared all his teeth. Four canines
on either side seemed to be filed to a razor’s edge. Zuberi
sniffed and caught the scent of the Kage and instantly retracted
from his attack. Zuberi walked in a brief circle and sat on the
spot, staring at the messenger with savage intent still playing
at the back of his mind.
The messenger nodded to Zuberi and relayed his message. He let
Zuberi know that the Kage wished to see him as soon as possible.
Zuberi gave a brief nod and let the messenger leave in one
piece, a courtesy he had learned recently. Zuberi would wait for
the messenger to vanish from scent before he pushed himself up
onto both feet and wandered over to where he had dropped his
training supplies. Zuberi dawned a lightly weighted vest over
his body and then placed his new hat upon his head.
He would make his way down the mountain on his own two feet. He
walked through town on two legs now. It helped him blend with
the common folk and avoid unnecessary chatter about what he was
or who he was. Some of the townsfolk, the regulars, knew exactly
       who was wandering among them.
He would reach the Kage’s place within the day and find himself
standing outside the door for a few moments as he admired the
structure itself. Zuberi walked in moments later and then
removed his hat, letting the standing residents know who he was.
It it wasn’t enough, Zuberi growled and bared his teeth,
refusing to speak once more as he waited for his summons.
Inside, a smile played across his subconscious at the fear those
around him exhibited towards his presence.

The fight with Zuberi had displayed just how riled up Tsu can
get and although the exams were over, Izuri hadn’t stopped
training her, to tame the undeniable resentment in her bones and
exasperate herself physically, rather than emotionally. Having
said this, even before the exams, Tsu wasn’t necessarily someone
who allowed her emotions to get the better of her, but refining
them, even more, was never an issue, it would help her in the
long run. Still, she couldn’t ignore the darkness in her,
praying that it wouldn’t cause her to hurt what was close to her
       - she feared that the most, hurting Izuri, or Zub, or Kizashi.
She observed everything, everyone as she walked through the
streets, by her Sensei’s side. It seemed, in the Stone Village
at least, curiosity would never go out of fashion, there was
always pointless chatter consuming the residents, eyes plastered
on her until she was out of sight, jumping over a stone wall,
before choosing to speak, weary still though the absence of
prying eyes did help calm her, “we’ve been walking for the past
hour Izu, would you tell me where we are going now,” she pauses
for a moment, before adding, “please?”
He doesn’t reply, only mentions that they had some distance to
go still. Grey eyes continue to indulge in their surroundings as
if drawing a map from scratch, so she wouldn’t forget where they
were going. Clearly, it was of significance. As they march down
a hill, she notices how his grip tightens on his bag, furrowing
her brows, and immediately beginning to fashion a plan should
they be met with any difficulties; Tsu was always ten moves
ahead, never lagging behind but it served her well to be this
way, to always think of everything as if it was a threat. That
way, you would be prepared for the worst.
There came the smell of wet stone, and charcoal from the woods
at the side of them, and as they pass a holy cherry blossom,
there comes into view, a house. Not big, but it seemed cosy.
They weren’t greeted by anyone, and when he steps onto the
porch, he finally visibly relaxes, watching him do so causes her
to follow suit, letting her bag drop to the floor.

“My mother used to live here,” his voice is soft, shrouded with
a melancholy as he sits down, deciding to join him quickly
before he continues, “I would come, every week and she would
greet me with food, and things I needed. Because I would go a
whole week without complaining, when I did see her, all I would
do is complain. Complain, complain, complain,” the girl finally
smiles as she looks over at him, nodding in acknowledgement,
“and you know what she would always tell me?”
She shakes her head as he tilts his head in his general
direction, “she would tell me that suffering is a gift from God,
       not a matter to complain of.” She knew exactly what he meant;
looking down at her ankles and the weights wrapped around them,
before a messenger drops from one of the trees. He explains that
she is needed for a mission before making himself scarce. “We
will be coming here everyday, but instead of walking, we will
run, it’ll help your legs withstand pain, and you’ll become
       quicker, okay?”
Tsu only wraps her arms around him, bowing in respect before
running back to the village, and to the Kage’s building,
stopping in her tracks to watch Zuberi, seemingly enjoying the
architect before taking his hat off, to bare his teeth, and
growl; he hadn’t changed much, only, he was walking on his two
legs now, rather than before. She takes a few strides until she
       is standing directly behind him.
       “Where’s Kizashi?”
Though she had missed her teammate greatly, there was no need
for that exchange; there was some mutual understanding with
regards to emotion between Zub and Tsubaki, neither of them
liked the idea of being soft, or appearing that way, so they
both ignored it, which is why instead of telling him that she
had missed him, she hoped he would understand, even with the
       absence of the words itself.
