The morning came , it was about time to leave . I had everything
packed from the previous day in my back pack. All there was
really left was to pick up my pokemon and set off into the
forest where i would be camping for the night .. The good think
about the pokemon center is there open 24/7 and theres always a
nurse joy on duty . I didnt have to wait to get my two people
cause everyone who stayed at the center that night was still
sleep ..
Sleep was hard for me to get. I would have to literally work
myself to death in order to fall asleep which was rare . Other
then training my pokemon and taking care of them i didnt really
put much effort into anything else . I retrieve my pokemon and
set into the forest just before the sun rose over the mountains
"Nindoran , Come out your pokeball , i said while throwing the
pokeball to the ground . She came cheerful ,hoping around with
all the energy in the world ..
We set deep into the forest , for the most part i just started
off slow . Fighting catapies and avoiding weedies because i
didnt want to waste any antidote unless i had to . "Nidoran use
attack!! We continue this foe at least an hour till she got
tired and i return her to her pokeball and threw out vulpix and
let her lead the rest of the way till Nidoran regain her energy
.

Zoran listened as Iris expressed her feelings about her Pokemon,
and why they didn't need names. He understood, and respected her
opinion. His approach was simply different. He laughed as she
loved on her whiny Squirtle. It clearly thought it was the
trainer, and he was it's human, but their relationship was cute
nonetheless.
He waited patiently as she scanned Flutter with her Pokedex. She
was right in a sense. Butterfree weren't actually rare at all.
But it was rare for them to approach humans, and even more rare
for them to attack, as they weren't aggressive by nature. If it
hadn't been for his time at the Academy, he wouldn't have
recognized the sound of Butterfree's cry, and he wouldn't have
had the opportunity to catch it!
He leaned closer in order to look at the map with Iris, and
pointed out a nearby site that was available for camping. It
wasn't far fro their location on the path, and it was a cleared
out area where they would have room to build a fire and set up
their sleeping bags. "Here." He said, pointing to the spot. "It
should only be a couple minutes in that direction" He pointed
Northeast, and began walking. Once they had arrived, he began
gathering stones and wood for a fire. After building the pit, he
turned to Coal. "Would you do the honors?" Coal executed a small
Ember attack on the woodstack, and before long, they had a fire
ready. Cairo then released Nidoran, who appeared to still be
feeling woozy. He set out food for all of his Pokemon before
setting up his sleeping bag, and seating himself on top of it.
"So what are your goals, Iris?" She hadn't been around when he
asked Rosey, so he still had no idea about her.

Iris felt excitement and apprehension bubbling inside of her;
her first camping trip with her first encounter of another
trainer on her first adventure...so many firsts for her!
Normally, Iris would have been a mess in this case. Between her
social anxieties and awkward tendencies to say the wrong things
around anyone new, Iris found it very hard to even want to go
outside among the rest of society, but with her Pokemon at her
side...the fear was lessened to the extent that her excitement
overpowered it!
The worn camping site was a refreshing thing to see, the lack of
people she'd met besides these two young trainers was literally
zero! It was relaxing to be alone in the woods, but at some
point it gets a little lonely and the sight of seeing hints of
other Trainers having been through freshly made her feel
slightly less apprehensive.
Setting down her bag and Squirtle, Iris held out her arm for
Pidgey to move over to and she lowered him to the ground as
well, but when she tried to remove Ekans from her person the
serpent tightened around her with a hiss of disagreement.
"Ekans, don't worry, I'm not going anywhere I just need to set
up and there's no harm in you mingling around...make some
friends." Iris smiled in an embarrassed fashion as she coerced
Ekans slowly but surely to undo its death grip and she lightly
set it in a coiled pile on the ground, finally allowing her to
detach the sleeping bag from the side of her backpack. Setting
everything up, Iris looked down at her work proudly just in time
for the final bits of daylight to give way to a light purple sky
whose gradient was becoming dark blue. "Wow...would you look at
me now, I can't believe it..." With a self-satisfied smile, Iris
sat down on her sleeping bag and let out a sigh of relief as she
felt the exhausted muscles in her leg come to a rest.
While Iris began setting out food for her Pokemon, they mingled
with each other or at least attempted it. Ekans was trying its
best to befriend Pidgey, but it was still on edge and Squirtle
made its way to Coal in an attempt to strike up friendly
conversation. The meetings only lasted for a while as Iris
finally set up their food and called them over to eat, Pidgey
being the first to make it before any of them and while they
ate, she let out a hum of thought as Zoran asked her quite the
interesting question. "My goals? Hmm..." Feeling more relaxed
than ever, Iris tugged at her stockings to readjust where they'd
fallen throughout her walk today while trying to figure out how
to answer him best. "Well...I don't really have any right now
besides traveling. I want to see the world." As she spoke, Ekans
held its bowl in its mouth while worming its way to Iris's side
where she mindlessly stroked the serpent's length as it ate. "I
want to experience the adventure that trainers get. I want to
meet lots of Pokemon, make lots of friends..." Laughing
slightly, Iris clutched her knees up to her chin. "Who knows,
maybe even beat a gym leader or two. What about you, Zoran? You
and the other girl seem so young, is going out like this scary
for you?"

Zoran noticed Ekans' hesitance to separate itself from Lilly;
Almost as if it was scared of being left behind. He didn't say
anything though, instead He pulled out his unfinished Energy
drink and topped it off. Man he had been spoiled drinking
refrigerated soft drinks his whole life! "Can't believe what?"
he asked. There were a multitude of things she could have been
referring to, and he didn't want to make any assumptions.
Coal and Squirtle seemed to hit it off well. Zoran was concerned
that they wouldn't because of the incompatibility of their
types, but Pokemon seemed to be less fickle than people. That
made the silver haired trainer smile happily. He was even
happier as he heard Lilly talk about what she wanted to do as a
trainer. It seemed she was relaxing more now.
His eye twitched when Lilly made another comment about his age.
"You know, I'll be fourteen soon. You can stop calling me a
kid..." But then he sighed, because no matter how he worded it,
it still made him sound more like a kid. "Anyway, no it's not
scary. Most trainers leave home when they're ten. I spent the
last three years studying and preparing myself for this. I'm
going to become the Leader of the Elite Four one day. I don't
have time to be afraid."
He watched as the Pokemon all ate and interacted with each
other. It was nice seeing the enjoying themselves, and not just
battling. It was probably easy to forget that Pokemon were
living creatures with their own likes, dislikes and
personalities, and not just tools for battle. "If you're looking
to make a lot of friends, maybe you should consider being a
Coordinator. I heard they have really widespread social circles.
I was thinking of entering a Contest myself when we get to
Pewter City tomorrow." He lay back and looked up at the sky,
which was slowly being infiltrated by stars as bright and
brilliant as diamonds. "Might as well experience as many things
as possible, right?

"A few days ago, I wouldn't have even imagined I'd be here."
Iris let out an awkward laugh to herself, her stomach grumbling
slightly as she frowned a bit at the realization that she'd gone
through all the effort of buying stuff for her Pokemon, but not
herself. Good thing Viridian City wasn't too far away at this
point; she'd be able to get food for herself and more for her
Pokemon seeing as she was already out. Iris was going to have to
battle more if she wanted to afford giving her Pokemon the best
care...
While Zoran and Iris talked, Squirtle was putting pellets of
food in its hand and tossing it in the air while trying to catch
with his mouth. After finally managing to land it, it'd look
towards Coal to see if it could keep up. Pidgey was pecking at
the final bits of crumbs left after it scarfed down its food
much faster and Ekans noisily ate with its back turned away from
everyone else.
"I-I didn't mean it as you're a child." Clasping her hands over
her knees as she looked at the dirt building up around her
fingers from all the falling and exploring she'd done today. "I
meant it as in...you're young, like the others that usually
begin their adventure. I'm a little late to the party and I'm
still frightened." Wiping her palms along her legs to pat off
the dust from the path, Iris let out a slight sound of
fascination as he gave her a brief synopsis of his history.
"You've been studying since then? Wow! I-I really should have
done the same. All I know is what I see online." His goals
seemed very big and she was envious of such a thing, to have
such wide-stretching goals with determination to back them
up...it was charming!
"A Coordinator?" The idea of being surrounded by so many people,
all eyes on her...it brought a slight sinking feeling to her
stomach. Yes, Iris wanted the friends she'd never made in her
rutted years, but the idea of having so much attention so fast
made her very nervous. "O-Oh, the contest trainers! I-I've seen
videos online." Pidgey nudged its beak at her thigh as it'd
thoroughly eviscerated any last bits of food, but there was none
left and he'd already eaten a whole serving. "N-No more for now,
okay? Tomorrow we'll get more, but for now you've all had a long
day so we should all rest." Unzipping her sleeping bag and
crawling in, she felt the foreign sensation of sleeping out
under the stars for the first time in her life. Pidgey nestled
its way against where her side was, Squirtle following with its
back pressed into the bird's side, but Ekans wormed its way into
her sleeping bag and made her squeak initially as the cold
scales felt bizarre; it coiled against her chest in a massive
heap and Iris sighed slightly in both relief and exhaustion as
her first day hit her hard. "Well...you're right about that. You
only get your first journey once and Kanto's so big...might as
well enjoy it all."
It didn't take long for her to fall asleep despite the initial
hardness of the ground, Iris was just too tired to stay awake
for much longer.

Zoran returned his Pokemon to their Pokeballs before falling
asleep. They were easier to manage and protect that way. Also,
he had learned in his Pokemon Technology course that the
Pokeball created a comfortable environment for Pokemon, that was
surely more comfortable than sleeping on the ground. After
tossing an energy bar toward Iris' feet, he too, fell asleep
quickly.
He slept well, but awoke early. The light of the sun was barely
peeking through the trees when he awoke. He looked over to see
that the fire had gone out at some point during the night. He
rolled up his sleeping bag and headed a little ways away from
camp. "Come out Coal." He said as he released the young
Charmander. "We're going to do some training and give the others
some time to sleep." Charmander nodded his head and awaited
instructions.
Zoran Grabbed a handful of leaves, and turned to Coal. "This is
an exercise in precision, not power. I'm going to throw all this
grass in the air, and I want you to use your Ember to hit as
many of the blades as possible. With an enthusiastic cry, Coal
let Zoran know he was ready, and Zoran released the handful of
leaves into the air. He waited until it had reached the apex,
then called out. "Now!" Coal released an array of embers from
it's tail, about half of which hit their mark, the rest missed
and fizzled out. "Try to focus on directing each flame toward a
target." Zoran explained. They kept this training up for over an
hour before returning to camp. The sun was peaking at that
point, and they still had a few hours before they would reach
Pewter City. It was best if they go. But when he arrived, Iris
was gone. It seemed all of his companions had gone on. Maybe it
was meant for him to travel alone. He packed up his things, and
continued along his path...

Zoran continued along the path, battling as much as he could
along the way. Coal battled Four Weedles, two Caterpies and a
Metapod, taking each of them out in a single Ember shot. The
forest was the perfect place to train a fire type! But Coal
wasn't the only one of Zoran's Pokemon that needed training. Rex
held it's own battles against two Pidgeys three Rattata, and a
Spearow. It took considerably more effort from the barbed rodent
Pokemon, and required two potions, but it got in a considerable
amount of practice in on it's Toxic attack. Butterfree battled
against Six Caterpie and two Pidgey. It's combination of Bug and
Psychic attacks was brilliant! Howeveer, Butterfree was
outclassed when matched against a Pidgeotto, and rendered unable
to battle. Zoran used a super potion to aid her but she was
still in bad shape. Luckily, he was approaching the end of the
forest. Finally, he could say hello to Pewter City!
