Odin shrugged nonchalantly, though a black mist began to
coalesce around him; a dark fury emanating from this mist, 'I've
already missed two years of her life. I am making my effort to
fix that but ending a stain such as you would, I am sure, send
your sister to hating me more and thus, ruin that effort.
'Besides, I have ended races in their entirety. The problem with
you humans is that you are like rabbits with your breeding, so
that may be a bit more difficult.' His shoulders rolled once
again. 'But given recent events, I should have no qualms about
it.'
But as he spoke, the mist receded.
He watched Austin leave before returning his gaze to his wife;
his features softened slightly, studying her; his eyes intense
and absorbed her, taking in the details he had missed so very
much. Even in her anger, in her disappointment in him, Odin felt
his heart beat slightly faster with her so close. How he wanted
to take her in his arms and inhale her being; to immerse himself
within the sounds of her body, to fall in love all over again as
he had before.
His head tilted to the side as he watched, silently, as if she
were prey and he the predator.
Had he always been this way? So full of pride and intensity? Or
had he changed within the last few years? A growth, Odin hoped,
was for the better. He knew the need, that lust, to dominate all
he saw was due to his trial.
'It is my child, so who she, and you, are with is my concern.'
Was he always so hostile? 'I suppose some form of explanation...
Where to being...
'To be honest, I have none. My father needed me and I came. How
can I explain that I crawled back to the man who left somewhere
when I was child and forced me to attain godhood? Where can I
begin that makes sense? I do not ask you understand, but merely
accept my leaving, however cruel that request may be.' He
sighed, almost in defeat, looking down before meeting her eyes;
his own burning with some fire within. 'As I told Austin,
despite how much I care and love the both of you, I have no
problem leaving if that is what you want; or if he brings this
to conflict and he dies. I do not say that with an easy
conscience as even thinking about it, after seeing you again,
tears me in two but I won't stay where I am not wanted.'
The words were hard, as irritation began to fester within
himself. He sighed again, brushing back the wild hair, frowning
in concentration as he picked out a few twigs and leaves. Odin
messed with the mess for a few seconds before growling in
frustration and threw his hands up, settling them at his waist.
'I would ask, would you not do the same should Austin or your
mother called you, but I know you would do a better job than
me.' His hands, as he spoke, found their way back into the
tangled mass of hair; slowly pulling out a few twigs that
continued to pester him. 'I do not offer any excuse other than
family. You know me as a rather carefree man, and that was what
I was when I left. I was carefree, though careless may be more
apt given where we stand with each other.'
Odin sighed, resting his hands as he crossed his arms, the
intensity leaving his features; his body relaxing visibly,
though his mind was tense with a darkness that wasn't anger;
more like sorrow, depression, settling into his features. He no
longer cared about masking himself, let someone call him weak
for it. Let them mock this Eonic Vessel.

Kicking at a rock to let out a frustration, Rosie cursed Austin
in her mind for being such a twat. And for Odin reacting to the
bait. Why the two hated each other was a mystery to her. Every
since their first meeting, and anytime they met, harsh words
were always exchanged between the two of them. It had gotten to
the point were Rosie had stopped inviting her brother over
anytime Odin was home.
Glancing briefly at Odin she returned her attention back to the
garden. Noticing that she would have to weed it shortly. After a
few more moments of silence between the two of them she couldn't
help but roll her eyes at his words. "Huh, from the way I see it
you weren't concerned about us for two years.." She mumbled it
more to herself then to him. The hurt that she was feeling was
clearly heard in her words.
She fell silent again as his explanation to his whereabouts were
told. A part of her understand that he did what he felt he had
to do. But the more bitter and angry part of her wanted to
scream at him.
Curse him.
Maybe even throw a few plates his way like she had seen her
mother do once when her own father had left to only show up back
again a few years later.
Tugging at the end of her shirt she happened to glance up the
same time Odin. The moment their eyes met she could feel her
throat closing and her heart beating faster. And the love she
felt for him she knew he could see in her eyes.
But all that went away at the mention of her brother dying if he
continue to cause conflict. Without even thinking about it she
briskly walked over to him and poked him hard in the chest.
"Listen here Odin, threaten my brother's life ever again in
front of me so help me Goddess I will kill you." She hissed out
at him, her eyes once more flashing between blue and red. Her
body shaking slightly with anger as she continue to glare up at
him.
Rosie watched as he started to fidget with his hair to get the
twigs and bits of leaves out. When he finally gave up trying to
get them she, without even thinking about it, reached up with
her hand and started to do it for him. The familiar texture
underneath her fingers slowly made her anger at him disappear.
She continue to pick out the random bits of leaves out of it as
he started to talk again. It wasn't until one of his own hands
brushed against her's did she realize what she had been doing.
Blushing a bright red she quickly dropped her hands to her side
and looked away from him. "Uh, sorry about that.. Force of
habit." Her words came out rushed as she tried to keep the
embarrassment out of her voice.
Looking back at him she saw how defeated Odin looked in that
moment. The emotions he felt were clearly seen on his face. Her
heart ached at seeing him like this for the first time ever.
Biting again at her bottom lip she continue to study him and
think. Opening her mouth she spoke the next words softly to him.
"I will not stop you from coming back into our lives Odin. As my
husband and Agnar father you deserve to be in it."

He showed his teeth at her own threat, though refrained from
commenting. While Odin had done a lot of questionable things, it
wouldn't do have his wife after his throat.
But dogs like him needed to be put in their place.
Weren't humans slaves to monsters such as him?
He frowned, the line of thought not entirely his own. Odin
admitted, with some trepidation, that he may not have the Eon
Spirit's personality entirely in control.
Her hand brought him a soft smile, watching as she tried to
cover her actions; his own had picked hers up, bringing it to
his cheek to rub against it, sighing contently. He could feel
the heartbeat, his eyes closing as the thoughts cleared away and
a sort of peace consumed him. Her apologies were lost upon him
as he held her hand to his face, as he brought it to his lips to
kiss the knuckles softly.
Releasing her hand, Odin looked at her, searching her eyes; her
face. His mind turning her word over. It wasn't a lack of
understanding that left him silent, but what words would help?
So he remained silent, slowly wrapping his arms around her waist
to embrace her tightly.
'After being gone so long, after just leaving, you say I deserve
it? This monster?' He gave a wry chuckle, holding her tighter;
his next few words a mere murmur, soft enough to almost be
unheard even in their closeness. 'I am different... Changed. A
monster, truly, now... Even as he mocks with his words, he
speaks truth; he knows this. So do you. I just don't know if the
change is for the better.'
But he had been more open with himself, and his emotions; given
that they were barely restrained. All he wanted in life was to
fade away into obscurity, to live out his life without trial; to
be as carefree as clouds as they floated lazily along. But now,
he was no speck of dust to be pulled apart by gravity. He was
the gravity that pulled the clouds apart, that ended their
endless floating. Odin had been reduced to almost nothing and
had pulled himself together, piece by piece, melding the Eon
Dragoon within his being as he did so; perhaps relying too much
upon that elder spirit's power and infesting too much of it
within himself.
However, his thoughts drifted away as he held her; his body
shaking slightly with the gentle sobs that overtook him.
'I've been alone too long, my heart.' He whispered gently, his
lips pressing against the top of her head.
