Dabria's compliance was satisfying. It would have been a shame
to have to discipline her in her current condition. Then again,
her condition could very well have been the very thing ensuring
her cooperation. It would take time and observation for him to
learn her and her ways. In the meantime, he could only hope
things remained cordial.
It was clear that her stomach was not yet prepared to handle a
heavy meal. Even the soup seemed to be pushing her to her
limits, but she fought to hold it down. Admirable... She spoke
more timidly now. Perhaps because of her frailty, or perhaps
because of the newness of her situation. When she spoke the
word, "Master," Ciaran looked up from his half finished steak.
His face showed no signs of surprise, or irritation at the way
she had addressed him, in fact, it almost appeared as if he
expected it, from the way he awaited her to finish her thought.
Her request was a simple one. She could no longer stomach any
more food. "Very well." He said calmly. However, he did not
permit her to leave the table. Once he finished eating, he
cleared the table, and carried the dishes to the sink. He would
clean them later. For now, he had more important things to take
care of.
"Come." He said, walking back toward the stairs. He ushered
Dabria to go up first, in case her legs gave out on her, and she
tumbled. Once they made it up the stairs, he lead her to the
bathroom and ran her a hot bath. "I take it you can clean
yourself?" If she confirmed that she could, he would leave her
be. If not, he would assist. But something told him that with
her pain dulled, she was more than capable of being at least
somewhat independent.
Once she finished, Ciaran would be waiting back in his room, the
covers on the bed pulled back. "Get some rest." He told her.
Tomorrow we begin working to get you back in shape." Once she
was situated, he made his way to his study. He picked up one of
many books on humanoid nervous system; One that specifically
covered pain receptors. He would spend several hours studying,
before finally joining Dabria in bed. He went to sleep without
once touching her.

Ciaran awoke early in the morning and went to shower. Once he
was satisfied, he stepped out, and set his eyes on Dabria for
the first time since he left her the night before. He sighed
when he realized she was wearing the same robe from the day
before. If he wanted her to put that bloody thing back on, he
wouldn't have made her shower in the first place! But he
supposed it was his fault for not providing her with something
else to wear. He materialized a simple black dress and hung it
by her side of the bed. "Wake up. " he said, loudly enough to
ensure she got the message. "It's almost time for breakfast. "
that time, he left her behind, giving her the chance to change
before joining him.
For the next several weeks, Ciaran acted more as a caretaker
than a master. He wasn't particularly kind, but he wasn't
abusive either. He slowly got her accustomed to eating solid
food again, and ensured that she was clothed and rested.
There was only one time when Ciaran was particularly tough on
Dabria. Every day, he put her through physical therapy. At
first, it was simply walking, and strengthening her legs, but
as her strength grew, he added to her regiment. No matter how
simple or complex her workout was, however, Ciaran was strict
and unyielding. On days that she completed her training without
incident, however, he further cut her pain for a while as a
reward. Never, under any conditions, however, did he reduce
her pain below a 3. Over time she would regain her strength, and
Ciaran was pleased. Finally, he could put her to work!

The night that Dabria touched Ciaran, he woke up to a heavy
singing sensation. Knowing the culprit, he decided there was no
more time for procrastination. He got out of bed and made his
way to his dojo, where he entered a state of heavy meditation.
For 46 hours, he didn't move or speak, though Dabria, by that
point, knew what was expected of her.
When he came out though, he had hardwired his brain to ignore
the very specific type of suffering that came from contact with
Dabria. If only it was that easy to do the same for her...
Would he do it? No. Probably not. Even so, it was an
interesting thought.
It was two weeks later when Dabria asked her question at the
table. Ciaran thought back to that night, and the event that
he had been watching. "About a mile offshore. .." he began.
"There was a man in a small fishing boat. He had netted an
impressive mad of fish and shrimp all together. Undoubtedly,
he was fishing late at night to avoid the competition. But in
the darkness, he didn't realize he was being stalked by a pair
of sharks. He didn't know what had happened when his net
suddenly broke. So he reached into the water in attempts to
salvage his catch. The poor fool didn't have the privilege of a
quick and painless death..."
After his explanation, Ciaran got up from the table. "Wash the
dishes. " he told Dabria, before making his way up the stairs.
Add her strength returned, he had begun giving her small chores
to do. Ciaran didn't keep maids or servants. When he did,
they always ended up dead.
While she completed her task, Ciaran picked out her attire. A
grey business skirt suit with blazer, a yellow hair tie, and
reading glasses. As usual, he left her clothes on her side on
the bed, and then he dressed himself.
He would appear in khakis, and a white button up shirt and a
blue blazer. His hair was v slicked back, and his normally red
eyes appeared a normal brown color. It would be unusual for Bri,
who by now would have grown accustomed to seeing Ciaran in
little-to-no clothing. He had to expose her to his tattoos
regularly to manage her pain level.
Once she was dressed, he would speak up. "Time to go..."

When Ciaran saw how Dabria had chosen to dress, he walked
directly up to her, and grabbed her by the jaw firmly, lifting
her chin before leaning forward and whispering in her ear. "From
now on, if I give you something to put on, that's what you put
on, understood?" He took a step back and looked her over. Her
current look would actually suit his purposes just fine, so he
wouldn't give her too hard a time. He turned toward the door,
and looked back. "If you'd like to dress yourself, I suggest you
go shopping."
Once she was ready, they were off! In just a second, they
arrived at their destination; Harvard University. The general
Education building, where core classes were held was their
destination. Along the way, Ciaran noted several students
taking notice to his pet. "What class does SHE teach?" One
student asked. Ciaran grinned to himself. Several of the
business students, however, recognized Dabria. It wasn't
surprising. She was a top CEO, after all. "Perhaps you should
get back to business soon. " he leaned over and suggested in her
ear on the way to the professors lounge.
When they arrived, he instructed Dabria to go in first, find
something to busy herself with, and not to speak to anyone. A
few minutes later, he would follow her in, finding his target
by the coffee machine. "Hey there, man!" Ciaran said add he
approached. His voice sounded nothing like normal, rather a
young and eager professor. "Long time no see!"
"Hey!" The professor answered with a nervous laugh. It was
clear he had no idea who Ciaran was, but was just trying to
Play it cool.
"Sorry i had to leave early during orientation. Family
emergency." The professor aspirated to be trying to recall the
event. "No worries. " he said. "Things happen. "
Ciaran leaned into the professor's comfort zone and spoke with
a low tone. "Hey, have you met the new Trig professor?" He
discreetly gestured across the room toward Dabria.
"I haven't!" The professor answered excitedly, suddenly much
more comfortable with the stranger that had approached him.
"Think she's good at anatomy too?" He asked with an elbow nudge.
"I certainly hope so! "
"I'm going to find out. " the professor said. "Wish me luck! "
with that, he approached Dabria with a professional swag, fat
different from the goofy persona be had played for an alleged
male counterpart. "I understand you're new here." He started
with confidence. "I'm-" before he could say another word, the
the would appear in Ciaran's basement, which affiliated
Appeared much line a dungeon. "What the?!" But crimson red
eyes looked into his own, silencing him. Ciaran turned to
Dabria. "I want this man to suffer a fate far worse than death.
Come see me when you're done." With that, he made his way
upstairs. Time to see just how useful she could be....

Ciaran grinned upon hearing the woman's answer. Something told
him she was just saying the "right" thing, or maybe she was just
uninterested in returning to running her business. But either
way, he couldn't knock her for her choice of words. "Very well."
He answered, leaving it at that.
Ciaran sat in his study, wondering if she would go through with
her assignment. He could sense the hesitation radiating off her
skin as he walked out of the basement and it caused him concern.
But thus far, she had given him close to no problems, so he
didn't want to doubt her just yet. After some time passed, she
made her appearance, and Ciaran looked at her expectantly, his
eyes back to their normal color. "Let's have a look then, shall
we?" He lead her back to the basement where he took a look at
the bastard to lay nearly unresponsive. A grin crossed his face
as he looked on at Dabria's handiwork. He was alive, but damaged
beyond repair. Should he ever recover enough to speak, surely he
would be spouting nonsense about being attacked by an Angel an
end up Institutionalized somewhere! Served him right...
With a wave of his hand, Ciaran sent the professor back where he
came from, and turned to face Dabria. Without a word, he walked
over, pressed his hand against the side of her face, and kissed
her on the lips, more fervently than the first time. For the
first time since that moment, her mind would be cleared of the
ability to process pain. She would remain without a hint of
displeasure for the rest of the day, as her reward for her
performance. Ciaran then made his way up the stairs, and to his
room, where he would finally remove all those ridiculous
clothes. He had gotten his hands on a good one this time. With a
little work, she could be his masterpiece...

Ciaran didn't take the time to consider Dabria's lack of
reaction to the kiss. It wasn't that he hadn't noticed her
attractiveness; simply that he hadn't taken command of her soul
for physical reasons. In order for her to be functional in the
way that he needed her, he shouldn't reduce her to a bedroom
plaything.
When she arrived in the bedroon, Ciaran was dressed in only a
pair of sweatpants. Her question was an understandable one. It
explained the hesitation she showed earlier. Her followup
question pinched a nerve, just a bit, but Ciaran closed his eyes
and took a deep breath. "Take a seat, Dabria." He said,
gesturing to the bed. When she followed his instructions, we
walked over, and placed his hand on the side of her face once
more. But this time, instead of kissing her, he looked her dead
in the eye, drawing her into an intricate illusion.
What she would see was a palace, in the Kingdom of Sancta Terra.
"There aren't a lot of people in the multiverse I can say are
important to me." His voice rang over the visions, as the view
zoomed into the palace on a happy, teenage girl. "But one such
person is my niece. She's the daughter of my younger sister. A
brilliant girl. She has all the tools necessary to be an
incredible warrior, but she decided instead to become a scholar.
At the age of 16, she was accepted into Harvard University."
There was pride in his voice as he spoke of the girl; A pride he
had not allowed many to be exposed to. "The man that we gathered
from the University attempted to use his position there to take
advantage of her. His grades for her body. And when she refused
him, he used his influence to have her removed from the
institution, and robbed her of her dream. The image shifted to
that of Adelaide in tears after returning home, and then they
faded away.
Ciaran was still inches from Dabria's face when she came to.
"You may feel my methods were extreme, but understand that I
don't tolerate anyone who dares to hurt my sister, or her
daughter." He then removed himself from her personal space, and
looked out the window. It was still early afternoon. Plenty of
time to take advantage of. But he could tell that Dabria was
exhausted. "Get some rest." He told her. "We'll put off your
training for now."

She was talking in her sleep... Spouting poisonous nonsense that
had been implanted in her head from childhood. She never had a
chance. It was clear that her dream wasn't pleasant. Ciaran had
some ability to influence dreams, but experimentation had taught
him that entering the nightmares of another put both him, and
the dreaming person at risk of permanent damage to their
psyches. He decided it was best if he woke her up. He had
allowed her to sleep too long anyway.
"Dabria, wake up." he told her. But for the first time since her
arrival, she didn't wake up on command. She was too deep in her
dream! Ciaran made his way to the bed and attempted to shake
her, but the intensity only seemed to increase, until she
finally screamed out loud, a blast of power sending Ciaran
flying back into a wall. He let out a pained grunt, before
falling into a kneeling position, and releasing an aggravated
huff.
"You have three seconds to get out of that bed, before I show
you what fear is..." His voice wasn't loud or commanding, rather
low and dark, it crept throughout the room, followed by an echo
of sorts that seemed to creep up the walls and fill every
corner. Eyes glowing of blood red, Ciaran was no longer in a
playing mood....

Ciaran wasn't injured by the blast. But he was surely irritated!
Dabria's lack of control was likely to hurt someone one day!
He'd be surprised to find out it hadn't already! When she got
out of bed as instructed, he sighed and stood to his feet."Come
with me." His voice wasn't as sinister as a moment ago, but it
was still clear that he wasn't interested in games. He lead her
down to the dojo and sat cross legged on the ground, gesturing
for her to do the same.
"Your lack of control is dangerous." He told her. As usual, he
held nothing back. "It's time we started working on building
your mental control. The first thing you need to do is manifest
your subconscious into something tangible within your mind. You
do this through meditation. You close out everything on the
outside, the lights, the cool air on your skin, even my voice,
and focus inwardly. When you've found your center, it's almost
as if you can stand within your own subconscious. It may
manifest as a field, a rooftop, or any other scenery that speaks
to who you are.
Ciaran's own subconscious took the form of a labyrinth dungeon.
But even so, he could traverse it at will. "This is a process
that can take anywhere from hours, to days. But you will
complete it. Do you understand?" This was the worst part of
taking on students. It was impossible to tell someone -how- to
manifest their subconscious mind. It was something they just had
to figure out. But once they did it, things always got
interesting.

Dabria's lack of focus at first brought Ciaran to believe that
this would be a long and drawn out process. He sat before her,
neither moving nor speaking, simply observing her. He didn't
give in to hunger or thirst for the duration, simply watching
her progress. In the end, it took just over a day for her to
succeed. There had been some who took much longer, which showed
that she had promise. unfortunately, the rest wouldn't be so
easy.
A few minutes after she managed to fully retreat into her mind,
Ciaran followed, appearing in the clutter of her manifested
subconscious. Ciaran walked over to Dabria, crushing many things
on the way over, however, they quickly recovered themselves.
Sadly, changing the base of a persons Psyche wasn't as easy as
breaking a few objects. "The man really did a number on you..."
Ciaran said, looking around at how many of the mementos were
clearly belongings of her parents.
"The first thing you need to realize is that you aren't
responsible for your mother's death. Carrying that guilt around
is doing nothing to help you." In fact, it was probably the
primary thing keeping her from reaching her potential. "Gather
everything in this place that reminds you of the blame you
accepted for the death of your mother, and gather it in one
place." He hovered in the air as he awaited her to oblige his
demand. Once she had done it, he gave another simple command.
"Throw it all over the cliff."
When she threw the objects, naturally, they would all recover in
their original positions after only a few seconds. "They recover
because these are ideas that are burned into your psyche. Since
you were a child, you carried the burden of your mother's death.
Your father lead you to believe that you were her killer. You
have to break his voice from your mind. Tell yourself that you
didn't kill her, and throw them from the cliff as many times as
it takes! I want you to do that for two hours every day, until
those objects don't return. Understand?" Only once she was
completely clear on her goal, would Ciaran leave her mind. His
extended presence there could have unforseen effects on her
psyche as well...

Ciaran was in his study, reading a book on freeing the mind of
barriers, when Dabria made her way in. It was rare for her to
approach him, much less speak without being spoken to. He closed
his book and listened to what she had to say, not seeming too
surprised by her first question. Of course, he realized that
questioning the terms of their bond now, meant she wanted
something. Nonetheless, he looked at the woman and spoke
clearly. "The symbol on your back marks you as my property." He
started. "It binds you to my will and ensures I am able to
locate or contact you at any point in time. It also contains
protective wards, that intercept anyone other than me attempting
to make physical contact with you. In the case of a powered
individual, you would be transported to my side. your average
man would most likely die."
After his explanation was complete, she made it clear why she
wanted to know, asking if she was allowed to date. Crimson eyes
looked toward the ceiling contemplatively, before settling once
more on Dabria. "I suppose there's nothing in the ceil
forbidding it, but for the safety of your suitor, I wouldnt'
recommend it." He said calmly. From his demeanor, it would be
assumed that her considering dating didn't bother him.
When she explained that there was an event showcasing her work,
he began to understand where all of this was coming from. She
had claimed she didn't want to return to work, but it was pretty
much as expected that work would come looking for her
eventually. "How about I go as your date?" It wasn't like Ciaran
to make requests of Dabria, but this was more of a suggestion.
"That way you can show up with a man who can actually walk arm
in arm with you. It wouldn't look good for you to appear alone,
right?" Of course, she was more than free to tell him no, just
this once. It wasn't a command after all...
