The Land of Iron

The snowcapped land of Iron will be the venue of the Chuunin
exams this year! Teams of Genin have been gathered from many
villages and convene here for the exams which will be beginning
shortly! The venue is the Samurai Training barracks. This is an
opportunity for prospective Chuunin candidates to make their
final preparations, and catch a glimpse of the competition
before it all begins!

The land of Iron... Icy breath escaped the young Genin's breath
as he took in the sights. In the past, the Chuunin exams were
always held in the Hidden Leaf. After the alliance was formed
with the sand, the next exam was held there. But since the
Great Ninja Alliance, the exams were held all over the world!
In recent years the exams had been held everywhere from the
Hidden Stone to the Hidden Cloud! ! It was because of that that
he was able to travel like this! Of course, the year he could
participate would be the year it was held in the Arctic, but he
was thankful just the same!
Dark eyes watched as Genin from around the world funneled into
the barracks, going to their separate sections designated for
their respective villages. Four teams from the Hidden Leaf were
participating this year. But Raidon was more interested in the
other teams. The exam would begin in only two hours. He hoped
getting acclimated wouldn't take long, so he would have time to
check out the competition!

Kara didn't lie the cold. She hated the Winter time back home,
So she knew the Chuunin exam was going to suck as soon as soon
as Kyūdaime-sama told everyone it would be held in the land
of Iron! She had bundled up as much as she could without
restricting her movement but even so, she was freezing! Raidon
didn't seem bothered by it though. It probably wasn't getting
to Genma much either.
It was hard being on a team with two geniuses from the Uchiha
clan sometimes. Yeah. They were strong, and that made their
missions easier, but it was hard to stand next to them as their
equal when nothing seemed to phase them! Kara had been friends
with Raidon since that day in the Academy, when he confused her
red eyes for Sharingan. She hadn't spent much time with Genma
until they became teammates. But since then, she had become
close with him as well. They had breezed through all their
missions together. 23 D rank, 14 C rank. They had even
completed a B ranked escort mission! It looked good on their
transcripts, but in reality they hadn't encountered an trouble
on that mission. If they had though, she was sure the twins
would have been strong enough to handle it!
Kara didn't want to be that kunoichi that got carried by her
teammates. She wanted to stand a string member of Team 2,
worthy of its praise, and she intended to use this exam to prove
that she was...
No matter how freaking cold it was!

Shaide visits the land of Iron.
He spun the scythe around in a circle above his head and shifted
it down diagonally the blade cleaving the straw dummy in two
pieces leaving straw covering the stone ground. Shaide sighed
lightly as he turned towards the two members of his group, both
of them were skilled in their own rights but just like himself
each of them had a weakness. Chi, was weak during the day but
one of their strongest at night she is an excellent scout and
has been used as such at night to complete many missions. Yuki,
she is physically weak and lacks any power to her attacks but
when it comes to agility and precision she was one of the best
leaving them to completeing missions quickly and without a
hitch. Then there was him, he was the physical strength of their
group but he lacked any skill with anything ninjutsu or Genjutsu
like abilities leaving him to deal with most of the physical
upfront fights that are thrown their way. This made them almost
an unbeatable team, though right now they looked weak just
sitting in the training grounds waiting for the other teams to
arrive. Two hours and the games started, two hours and the
chunin would be decided it was then that every person would be
put to the test.

Chiharu has worked hard to be here, to stand along side such
talented teammates in one of the most important tests for ninja
to take. Although with the sun high in the sky right now she was
at her worse. She still had her genjutsu but her vision was
slightly blurred, the bright sun throwing it off. This wasn't
going to be easy but se couldn't let her team down.
Standing out in the crisp air she admired the landscape of the
land. She hasn't been in this land before, or at least not in
the main part of the city. Carefully she looked about observing
the stones and even what they called their training grounds. Her
attention was drawn to her teammate Shaide who had sliced the
straw dummy. He had seemed a bit impatient, and she didn't blame
him. They were the only ones here thus far. Chi walked over to a
rather large yet flat rock where she decided to take a seat.
There was no use in standing for two hours, beside probably best
to rest now before the test was to begin. She looked over to Rin
observing how she was doing with the wait.

The land of Iron was exactly the way Rin had imagined it. Snow
as far as the eye could see, the breaths of her teammates abs
opponents alike fully visible, and most of all, the feeling of
comfort she got from it all! Of course, she was dressed for
the child environment, but even so, she was really enjoying
the cold! Surely enough it was her Yuki heritage that allowed
such a thing. Her nose was freezing and toes tingling, but she
loved it just the same!
Chi and Shaide seemed anxious. Shaide deciding to spend their
free time in the training grounds. It was to late for
preparation. If they weren't ready by now, they wouldn't be
ready. Rin was more interested in checking out the competition.
She saw genin of all different sizes, and ages. Some were
armed, others not. The sunlight reflecting off of the snow
would further impair Chi's vision. Rin was busy trying to come
up with a solution for that problem when Shaide began cutting
down dummies. It was useless though, until they knew the nature
of the exam. "Do you guys think we should mingle with the
crowd?" She finally asked. "There could be some potentially
strong allies out there. .."

Hibachi sat at the front of the crowd atop of a large, barrack
like, building. Sitting upon his heals as he held himself
propped up by the tip of his toes. His golden eyes examining the
crowd with a glance of indifference. It was true this village
was not his home, but, they saught him out to play a main role
in training the young genin. His cold, indifferent, exterior
leading to fair judgments and teachings. His home village was a
warm place full of cold people: quite the opposition to this
setting. He was rather displeased with the setting for this
year's exams. He did not do well in the snow. His nerves were
long since singed from his flesh, but, the snow was wet: soaking
his sand. Making it into heavy, nearly useless, mud. Even his
sand regeneration ability was nearly useless in a setting such
as this, but, his duties maintained nonetheless. Leaving his
heritage of the village of sound as his main source of power
here.
As the final student arrived he slowly rose to stand tall in
front of them all. Reaching down into a compartment strapped to
his bicep. Pulling from it a small urn: similar to that which
was dangling from his hair. With it he blew into a small hole
placed in the solid clay; a loud whistle escaping from the urn.
The whistle itself enough to shake the air around the students
in a single burst of energy: sure to grab the attention of every
last student. As they all looked to him with those surprised
glances he calmly placed the urn back into it's respective
compartment. Clearing his throat before placing his index and
middle finger against his throat. Speaking in a loudly amplified
tone for all to here. "Genin! You are gathered here to test your
abilities... To painfully earn the title of Chuunin against all
odds. You will be tested in acedemics, partnership, and power!
Each student will be given a number and tested in every
category! I await the chance to test every last one of you to
the fullest extent."
With that said he calmly knelt back down and balanced himself
upon his toes once more. Awaiting for the other jonin to hand
out the respective numbers and for the tests to begin. He would
be in charge of the acedemics portions of the test. He had done
these tests before and had come to learn every year they were
different. He could only wait and see what the test would
consist of this year. The kept the contents secret even from the
teachers so there was no possibility for the students to learn
to questions ahead of time.

If Raidon didn't wake me up I would have over slept and most
likely missed the exams . It wouldn't have bother me either way
. But the rules said all teams members had to attend in order to
participate in the exams . My twin was excited for this day and
wasn't going to let me miss it either . Mainly because we are in
the same squad . Other then that he wouldn't have cared less .
Raidon wanted to see the competition but I just wanted to sleep
. The cold was beating Kara up quite nicely . Even bundle up she
was still shaking like she had nothing on .
Yup , the rumor was true about the land of iron being cold .
Thank goodness I was able to hunt down some wolf at night and
take there fur and make me some gear. It kept me warm but Kara
needed it more the. I did .
"Here Kara, can't have you freezing your butt off before the
exams start . Don't worry about me . I have a blanket and a good
place to fall to sleep at . I'll see you later guys"
Knowing my twin he wanted to check out the genin . I just
wanted to go to sleep .

(Due to scheduling differences, we're going to go ahead and get
this thing rolling! Everyone please use your next post to detail
how your characters spent their free time and enter the
examination room. Then our proctor will get us started.)
Gin annoyed Raidon to no end sometimes. He wanted everyone to
think that he was just some lazy brat, who hadn't even awakened
his Sharingan. He wanted everyone to think that his strength
just came naturally. But Raidon knew that when night fell, his
brother trained like a madman. He had caught him once or twice,
awakened by the sudden surge of Chakra. Gin always did what he
had to do though, so there was no point in bothering him over
it. He made it to all their team building exercises, and as long
as Raidon woke him up, he was never late for a mission or
assignment. That was what was important, he supposed....
Gin's lazy nature wouldn't necessarily be a problem though. It
rarely drew in any attention, which meant it was unlikely they
would make early targets for anyone. It also made it unlikely
that they would find many allies early on as well though.
Regardless, the younger twin spent the next two hours checking
out the grounds. There were a lot of interesting shinobi
present. Even one who used a freaking glaive! What kind of ninja
weapon was that? Regardless, it wasn't long before they were all
given numbers, clearly intended to split the teams up for the
first exam.
Raidon went to find his brother. There was no way he would let
him oversleep and get them disqualified. When they were all
funnelled into the exam room, Raidon found that his seat was
near the back of the room. He looked around to find his
teammates. Their locations could possibly be crucial at this
point...

The more time passed, the more overwhelming it all became!
After just watching the other shinobi in the area, Kara felt as
if each of her limbs was ten pounds heavier! And she still
couldn't get used to the cold! Luckily, Ginma provided her
with his coat. He was sweet! It was a shame he was so lazy!
Even so, he was an excellent ninja. In many ways, he was
superior to even Raidon! Of course, in other ways, he couldn't
compete with the hard working younger brother. There was no
doubt they were both amazing in their own way.
Kara spent the entire two hours at Raidon's side, shopping out
the competition. She may have wandered sorry distances to
mingle with other contestants, but she never left his sight.
She hoped to make some friends that could help them them in the
exams, but she was unsure if she succeeded. It seemed a lot of
them were focused on the wrong thing(s). "The world needs more
kunoichi..." she sighed to herself.
After what didn't seem like long at all, they were assigned
numbers, and ushered into the exam room. Kara's seat was close
to the front. She took her seat and sighed once more,
attempting to release those bundled up nerves. This was it!
All our nothing!
