She smiled. "Merrek. What a nice name. Then the announcements
came up. "You will have to excuse me in a moment. I have a prize
to win." She grinned. She had so many nominations. She was sure
she would win queen by a land slide. Her moment to shine was
rising.
If she didn't get queen she would get a sash for something. But
the awards and jokes came and went. Razie name wasn't called
once. Till it came to king and queen. She jumped to her feet.
"This is it. This is my moment."
Jasper and Essie? They were already Royals. What right did they
have? She turned back to Merrek and sighed. " I can't believe...
I have to...I need to take care of...."And with that she threw a
glare to Essie and Jasper over her shoulder and stormed out the
door. Shutting it just a little top hard on her way out.

Jasper was beyond surprised to hear his name for Snow King! He
had come here to escape the title of King, and the idea of being
royalty! But even so, he was honored! He made his way up to the
stage and accepted his award. He was preparing to leave the
stage when the host asked him to stay until a Queen was named.
He had to admit. It would be strange to be named King next to
any Queen other than Essie. Fortunately, Essie was named! He
waited patiently for his date to join him, glad he wouldn't have
to have that awkward moment.

Essie rose when her name was called with a smile still plastered
to her lips from when Jasper's name was called. The glare that
the woman had thrown her way was not dignified with a reaction.
Essie was above such immaturity.
Making her way up to the stage, she walled slowly to avoid
tripping over the heels she wore, smiling all the way.
"Thanks everyone," she said as she received the sash, politely,
albeit a bit bashful. She quickly ducked her head, slightly
flushes from being put within the spotlight, and quickly
rejoined Jasper's side.
Essie could not believe she had won, but it did not surprise her
that Jasper had. She radiated with happiness as he received his
sash.

Oh, so they were fiancé! Well, that certainly was a great
surprise, something that might to stick to his memories. Maybe
he would store it in the Orb if time would come for it to be.
Though, there was a light ringing only audible to the white
robed mage, which turned his head away from the three and
towards somewhere that had no activity… And a blue butterfly was
flying around. The mage softened at the sight, to which he stood
and bowed to those gathered.
It brought him back to the current events… He was about to
excuse himself from the gathering, but the two before him were
announced as king and queen of the Ball! How grand!
“Congratulation to the both of you.” Though… Razie stormed out,
which was strange, given the circumstances. Wasn’t this supposed
to be a grand event? Regardless, duty called out for him. “I
apologize, but I leave you two to your special occasion.” A
portal open up behind him and he waved at the two before him
before he vanished into it, along with the blue butterfly.

Japser noticed the odd reaction from Razie when Essie was named.
It seemed she was upset, but he figured it was alright. Once
Essie joined Jasper on the stage, and was crowned it was time
for their dance. He lead his Queen to the center of the dance
floor, where the music was started for them.

His hands wrapped around the woman's waist, and he planted a
kiss on her lips and he lead her across the dance floor,
forgetting everything else! This was one of those moments where
nothing could go wrong!

She dances with her king, oblivious to everyone around them.
Essie's grin grew as the song plays. It was their song. She
moved to the rhythm of the music, focusing on the way that he
felt in her arms. This evening was truly magical.

Without warning, the spotlights on both the stage and dancefloor
went dead. It would seem some sort of power outage, if not for
the fact that the music hadn't stopped! Suddenly there was an
ear-shattering crashing sound, giving birth to gasps and screams
from guests who had been watching the newly crowned King and
Queen! Suddenly all fell silent. When the lights recovered, it
was revealed that the chandelier that hung over the dance floor
had fallen, crushing both Jasper and Essie under it's weight!
What was left was little more than mangled remains of the former
King and Queen. It seemed their reign was short lived...

With a disinterested yawn, listening to the announcer speak,
listening to the 'royals' and other goings on, the demon lord
rolled his eyes. 'These foolish creatures wouldn't know true
royalty if it eviscerated the universe.' He thought to himself,
as a dangerous glint appeared in his eyes. Turning his back to
the stage, sword at his side as usual, the Lord Bloodrose
clearly had something in mind for this menial ball; rather or
not he'd win.
As he stood there, motionless, a sinister smirk etched itself
upon his lips as his ears twitched and he crossed his arms over
his chest; left hand cupping his right bicep as his right hand
was upturned and he stood there; seemingly examining his clawed
hand. Then, ears twitching as he heard the crash and realized
the lights were out, Maru turned to the stage in surprise; now
wearing a bemused smirk. "Hm.. finally, something interesting.
if not.. well... dust to dust... ashes to ashes. ."

Razie peeked her head back in the door. "Wh..what happened? Oh
my!" She walked in and over to where the king and queen now lay.
She looked around. Merrek had left? What. Pity...She let out a
disgusted sound when blood stained her skirt. "Dammit. Look at
this mess. I'll call 911." She turned around and headed for the
door a slight grin on her face. 'Such a so glad that wasn't
me..." She mumbled under her breath chuckling lightly. Hiding a
bit of a burn on her wrist.
