Annika listened while he spoke of how he jumped from place to
place, nodding a little. She could relate to that, one of her
past lives had been spent as a traveller, always on the move.
After her first few rebirths, she had grown used to the idea
that she would spend forever this way and had begun to vary how
she spent each life. She would explore new places during one
life, then spend the next hiding and relaxing quietly with the
occasional escape from hunters. Of course, she was always
plagued by those that chased her, the ones who killed her
parents time and time again, but they had never yet caught her.
She could only wonder what would happen if they did, perhaps she
would simply be killed and reborn again, or maybe she would be
killed indefinitely? Either way, she wasn't going to risk it and
simply let herself be caught. She never gave up without a fight
and there was always plenty of fight in her. She realized she
had let her mind wonder, and quickly returned her attention to
Kota though thankfully, she found that during the few moments
she had been thinking, he had remained as quiet as he had before
answering her question. Perhaps he too, had been thinking?
Nodding her head once more as he spoke of her lives, she let the
comment pass and hoped he would continue. She didn't want to
dwell on the pain that lasted through her cursed 'life'. Going
through the emptiness of death over and over, the loneliness
when it came to the end and the deceit that told her it was time
to rest, only to find herself tricked and brought back to a new
life. Before she could continue her thought, she interrupted it
and focused on Kota, glad to hear him speak again. She wouldn't
press him to explain how it was that he were to understand, if
he wished to tell her then she knew that he would when the time
came to it. "I'm glad you're going to stay. It's nice to have
company that I don't have to hide from." She caught sight of his
smile and returned it brightly. "Although, I don't suppose it
would be a good idea to stay sitting on this bench all night.
Perhaps we should find somewhere else to go? I know a few
places, including my own, where we could go. A stroll might be
safer anyway, this area usually ends up full of those who think
themselves tough." She suppressed a giggle, even the thought of
the humans who paraded the streets as if it were their territory
amused her.

Kota nodded at her speculation " that sounds like it might
actually be best." he chuckled a bit and then with a reluctant
push, his relaxed body pressed to stand from the bench. he was
not used to being able to sit around for so long, so since he
had; his body had gotten a tad sore and he had to life dead
weight, from his limbs half asleep. " haha Im sorry not so used
to being able to take it so easy.." he said as he almost fell
over from his leg having fallen asleep. he caught himself before
he fully toppled over and with a push of his finger he pushed
back up enough to maintain balance. "I know nothing of this
city, so it will be nice to have someone who is just a tad more
familiar with the place than I am. " he smiled to her and then
thought back to the time limit, he was cutting it extremely
close.. but perhaps he could hold the power back just a tad
longer. It was a constant pain. His body always ached with pain
and within a certain proximity of being around others, when they
felt pain he knew it, he more than knew it really.. but it
empowered him.. "I have only a single request for our stroll.."
he stated moving so that she was at the left side of him. "
Please no matter what always stay to the left side of me.. " he
hadn't shown her what his right arm were capable of.. and in
truth he hoped he wouldn't have to, but he didn't want any
accidents either so this was the best way " Lead the way" he
said with a bright smile, the first he had, had in a very long
time.

Annika smiled as he agreed, stretching her arms out above her
head as she straightened her legs out to stretch them her body.
Wiggling her feet side to side, she listened for a faint click
in her ankles and then sighed in content and pushed herself off
the bench to stand up. She squeaked lightly as he toppled over,
taken by surprise by his sudden fall though before she could
move forwards to help him, he had pushed himself up. Giggling a
little, she shook her head and grinned. "You're supposed to
stretch instead of just getting up so quicky." She nodded at his
comment, knowing that although she had only been here a few
months, she already knew the streets like the back of her own
hand. Her sense of direction was near flawless. "Well, we
certainly won't get lost. And I think I know a place we can go.
It's a bit of a walk to get there, but it shouldn't take too
long." She smiled and then watched as he moved around her,
raising an eyebrow curiously. "On the left?" She looked at him
with a questioning expression, wondering what could possibly be
wrong with standing on the right side of him. Then again, after
what he had shown her earlier, he probably had his reasons and
it probably had something to do with that. "Well, alright then."
She shrugged inwardly and then smiled as she began to walk. "So
do you travel alone too? Or have you got an accomplice?" She
nudged him with her elbow playfully and laughed, slipping her
hands into the pockets of her jeans.

Kota grinned a bit as he finally sorted his body out enough that
he was able to walk right. " yeah I spose stretching wasn't such
a bad idea, Im used to continuously going so it was a bit harder
to get up from that seat than I thought it might be.." he
laughed a bit then and made sure he was following close enough
next to her that he could make sure she stayed to the left. He
knew it was odd to ask such a thing and really it might just be
best if he explained it. " You do remember when you seen My
tattoo run over to my other arm and turn it completely black, my
RIGHT arm?" he asked pointed progressively to the marks. " I am
the Black Shadow Marked Harbinger of Misery in Death.." he said
reluctantly and then went further into explaining as they
walked... "Each of the Shadow Marked Harbingers.. is given a
single color of the two picks.. white or Black.. The Black ones
have eleven members same as the white and they are enstored with
incredible powers, as well as a slight price to pay for it..
Mine unfortunately while being ONE of the most powerful is also
quite literally the most morbid..." At first he looked around to
see if he could ind something to easily demonstrate upon without
scaring the shit out of her.. "I bring forth Death with this
hand.. A single touch if my energy spikes and it will fast
forward the time period of that limb until it is nothing but
decadent bone that is just waiting to snap... If I touch the
area of living of a being I can do the same.. and as much as I
wish... it thats not all their is to the power... Even though
time fast forwards... the pain that one would feel... Is placed
to ten times of that.. for each year it subsequently has aged..
for example... If I touched a wrist... with this hand and held
it their to age it say fifty years... It would be the
equivalent.. of 5000 years worth of pain that they are eternally
experiencing for the rest of their actual life... The pain added
up over 5000 years ...worth of it in each and every second of
their life.. unbearable agonizing pain ... and thats not even
the worst of it.. the moment someone looks me in the eyes..
creates a seal... that seal states that when they witness my
power they become eternal they can never ... ever die... " He
looked down at his cursed hand and flexed his wrist a bit.. then
was quite gracious to hear her ask him a question... "No one
travels with me I fight on my own.. I live on my own and I
survive the many attacks from the white Shadow marked Members
who just naturally want me dead..." he sighed a bit and then
fell silent, not really sure what else to say by this point.. he
had kind of blabbered off when he knew he should have answered
her question and just left the other alone.. " needless to say..
anyone at my right side faces potential danger and I like you so
Id rather you didn't need to..." that was the last thing he said
as his head averted down and his hair fell into his eyes.

Annika laughed, shaking her head. "I've never met someone before
who can turn the simple actioin of standing up, into something
so difficult." She giggled to herself still as they walked,
though things seemed to turn serious rather quickly. She
listened to his explanation, trying to understand it fully as he
told her of the two colours, the powers, the danger... She
wasn't scared of danger though. In the words of a rather brave
little lion; she walked on the wild side, she laughed in the
face of danger. She held back the giggle that lingered in her
throat as she was reminded of The Lion King, the rather childish
yet somewhat beautiful animation that these humans had created
years back. For such a simple race, they were rather poetic with
such things. She realised that she had been quiet for quite some
time so she gave a brief smile and looked across at him as he
lowered his head.
"Well, you don't have to worry about me. I'll keep to the left
and believe me, one hint of danger and I'll be gone faster than
you can tell me to run." She giggled, trying to lighten his
mood. "I can be pretty quick when I need to be, agile too. I've
yet to find anything on this world that can outrun me and I'm
the best of hiders. Even if I couldn't outrun you, you still
wouldn't find me." She grinned and then looked ahead, seeing a
green fence that surrounded a large field in the centre of a
group of buildings. To one side of the field was a park, with
swings, a climbing frame, a slide and a large oak tree with wide
branches, perfect for climbing. For a moment, she looked like a
child as her eyes lit up and her smile widened. "There it is!"
She took off, running towards the fence and clambering over it
before darting to the swings, standing on one of the seats and
swinging herself back and forth.

Even though he had just told her the immediate danger of being
around him, even though he had explained exactly how evil his
cursed gift truly was; still she stood near him and much more
was able to make jokes and lighten the mood. A smal smile danced
at his lips just slowly making its way to light as he listened
to her boast of how fast she could be, it brought out a bit of a
competitive side to him but he would leave that be for the time.
he stood side by side with her and nodded. " perhaps before the
night is out at the least we can have a race aye?" he said a
jest to his voice, but his eyes widened by her sudden
excitement. Instantly his blue and violet eyes met the large
area of grass she was entranced by and he followed her shaking
his head slightly amused and confused.
It was with surprising grace that she shot over the large fence.
" Pretty sure that fence means keep out trouble maker.." he said
playfully then kicked off the ground tapping his foot one what
appeared to be an invisible platform as he finally swung his arm
around and sent himself into a B twist over the fence to land
with surprising grace. He looked over the land and tilted his
head in question, not exactly sure so far yet of what was super
special here. His question was simply answered right after as
she took up one of the seats of the swing set.. " oh thats what
had you so excited?" he laughed a bit and then took his own seat
next to her and kicked off gently to just lightly sway back and
forth as the moon began to set into the sky.. "So then.. what
exactly do you think is next for you?" he asked passing her a
glance.

Hearing his offer of a race, Annika's competitiveness rose to
the surface and a large smile spread across her lips. "That
sounds like a great idea! But we should make it more
interesting... How about, if I win, you stay for a little longer
and keep me company. And if you win... Well, you can think of
something." She laughed, now rather excited for their race
later. When he commented about the fence, she simply snorted and
shook her head. "Are you kidding? A fence is like an invitation,
it's like a dare!" She grinned and turned to watch him leap over
the fence, raising an eyebrow. "Impressive. And of course! A
place like this is always exciting, especially when it's dark
and there's no one else around." She smiled at him from the
swing, using her weight to sway back and forth. "Well, when I
say no one else, I mean like... boring people."
She slipped her feet forwards so that she fell and landed to sit
on the swing instead of stand on it, swinging her legs back and
forth. "Oh, y'know... a bit of this, a bit of that." In all
honesty, she had no idea what was next. Before her memories had
returned again, she had planned on staying in the countryside,
but now here she was, in the city. "I think next, I might try
being normal. Again. It never works, but I keep trying anyway.
You know the whole story; get a job, find a partner, settle
down, have kids, grow old. Well, I say grow old, I mean in the
only way I can." She chuckled and then shook her head, sighing
lightly. "But, I don't think this is the life it will happen, I
feel too... energetic this time to be able to settle down. Maybe
something more exciting." She looked up at the sky for a moment
as the first stars began to dimly twinkle behind the veil of
street lights. "What about you? Where are you going next?"

He liked that, she chose to live on the wild side of life
itself. All in all he reminded him of himself when he was
younger, when he had lived int he Kingdom; at the Dark Moon
Kingdom.. The great desert the rush of the wind in his hair as
he played the role of a thief , only to return the items he had
stolen late after they had long given up the chase. His mother
had taught him it was bad, and tried her best to put him in
school; though that never worked out very well. Kota remembered
wondering when his Father would come home, at first he had
strived to be strong; strong was the word Mum always used to
describe his father, that and ass hole.. but that was to be
expected, she was Lonely after all. Perhaps that was what swayed
him to be so attracted to the Lady Annika, she was wild, free
and had a price just like him.. " I think that a challenge would
be a great idea, so IF I win, then you come with me WHEN I
leave." He said slightly trailing off to be a tad more quiet as
he finished his proposition. " what ya think?" he asked eagerly
as they began to sway back and forth on the swing sets..
Though as they sat there, and she answered his question; he
found himself listening intently to catch every word. She had
such high hopes for a normal life, and she knew that no matter
what it was never a true possibility, for once since everything
Kota felt for someone.. he felt the familiar pain of Empathy
tracing his features as he gripped his fist tightly to ignore
the sensations of the actual pain. "You say normal, as if we are
the odd ones.." He said faintly chuckling to himself as he
looked at her. "Perhaps its the other way around, or maybe even
normal doesn't exist.. perhaps even its a standard that can
never be obtained but is socially acceptable by the opinion of
others.. I really am not sure what exactly a true normal life
would look like, and Im pretty sure even non normal beings can
find all of the things you just said, in their own liking." He
smiled to her then peered up to the moon.
"See the moon up their is far from normal, its absolutely
stunning its beautiful and yet the odd ones can accept it, as
well as everyone else.. People grow accustom to what they are
used to, to what has always been and never changed, because
unfortunately human life is not so adaptable. However, what
about us.. we can sort with them, we can converse with them and
blend into their society, but isn't that being un normal for us?
aren't we suppressing our true selves.. The Moon is beautiful
beyond all comprehension, and it is accepted, then why
shouldn't you be?" He looked over at her with a quaint little
smile parting his lips and held it like that for a moment. "
The moon just makes me think, its both a curse and the greatest
gift a tortured mind could ask for.." He said it quickly
changing the subject and jumping up from the swings to stretch
out slightly and seem like he was almost doing something. " So
then, any idea on that race?" He turned back to her with that
same smile.

Annika considered his offer for a moment, scrunching her nose in
thought. Going with him would be interesting, but where would
they go? Deciding she would wait and find out, IF he won, she
simply nodded and held out her hand for him to shake so they
could seal the deal. "Alright, it's settled. I win, you stay.
You win, I go with you." she giggled and grinned, swinging back
and forth still on the swing a little. "It sounds like a good
deal. You'd be lucky to have my company." she smiled playfully,
leaning backwards to swing forwards further so that she was in
full swing. "But we still have to decide on a course or a
destination. No good having a race without a finish line." She
chuckled and began to think of where they could race to.
Upon hearing his talk of normality, Annika nodded and then
briefly shrugged her shoulders. "I think normality is defined by
the majority of the population. If the minority are people like
us, then it is the others who are normal. But if we went
elsewhere that had few humans, we would be normality. Do you see
what I'm saying?" She looked to him and smiled, then turned her
gaze up to the moon. "Ah but the moon is known to everyone, She
can't help it. We can hide, blend in. She cannot." she chuckled
lightly and shook her head. "The moon has always held a
fascination to me though. I don't know what it is, I just...
Feel drawn to it." She paused for a moment and then seemed to
gather her thoughts as she giggled and lowered her gaze a little
from the moon to a branch that leant out from the tree, just out
of reach from her swings as she threw her weight forwards and
gained more height with each swing. Chewing her lip in
concentration, she focused on the branch, waited for the right
moment and then let go, grabbing the branch as the swing fell
back. Scrambling onto it, she laughed and stood up, looking for
the next branch to move to. "Come on, we can see better up here
and figure out a finish line."

Over all she was perfectly right is everything she said. The way
she described the moon was similar to his but she had a deep
understanding, one that he was ale to relate to as well. In
those nights when he had been at home waiting for his father to
return; Kota had always looked to the beautiful symbol as some
sense of hope in the bleak waste that was the endless desert.
His thoughts were interrupted quickly however and he watched her
take flight through the air,t he clack of the chains on the
swing set settled as he did and he looked up to her to meet her
playful gaze. "Getting ready for that then?" he asked pushing
off the same , though not with as much a show; he walked over to
the tree and took a single stepping jump to place his foot
against the bark of the tree and kick off, landing his foot on
the branch she had just stood on, he kicked off that one as well
all the same grasping with both hands onto the branch that was
above him. His muscles tightened and he began to swing himself
about eventually only holding on with one hand as he swung his
arm around at the same time as he swung and hit a spinning form
of his next launch to grab hold of a branch quite a ways up.. "
I take it you love some climbing huh Annika?" he asked as she
made her way level with him, or vice versa.
Eventually though with a bit more of unnecessary acrobatics,
they found themselves to the top of the Tree and looked out over
the city. At first glance it was a true wonder, brilliant lights
displayed the buildings and trees. Over all it was a light show
but silent in its own regard as well. "Well this is much more
beautiful than I expected." Kota said almost absentmindedly and
took to stand straight up on his feet. He looked over to see a
good assortment of alley ways int he far distance, and way way
far int he distance there was a Large hill, one where the Moon
sat untempered, There was nothing in its way, no trees no
buildings, or swing sets or anything just a hill in its lonesome
on the farthest border of the city. "There." he said pointing to
the Hill and grinning towards her.
