The Library

Beautiful isn't? All these books in one place? The walls are
lined with them! Several chairs are scattered around here.
Headphones are attached to the wall and play any music you
desire, simply think of it!

Fleur flitted around her wings beating so fast. So many books.
Stories of romance, stories of death, encyclopedias. The
complete works of Jaqno Fleto! Famous fairy writer! She she
couldn't decide. She set her glamour back and settled on the
ground, now standing average human height again. She took
several books and scattered them across the floor. She found a
nice cozy bean bag chair and snuggled up, picking up one book,
which she quickly grew bored of then another. She would get
bored of that and drop it a few pages in and pick up another
book.
This was all so exciting! How had she not been here before? She
put all the books back in their destined places, not even
reading a quarter of any of them and wandered through the
stacks. All the titles screaming out at her to be read. It was
impossible to pick just one! Then there it was a window.
Cautiously the fairy approached it looking out. Was
that....gardens? She jumped up and down and clapped. It was! She
would have to go there, she just had to. It seemed to call to
her like a hallelujah chorus! She squealed and turned from the
window running at first then slowing. Was she really ready to
leave the stacks? So much to see here. Yet so much to do out
there. The fairy was so torn. What to do what to do! She bounced
on her heels and pondered.

Perked up in the cool shade o the tree, she watches over the
gardens she was residing. Her ears twitched when she could hear
the earth rumble with the sound of prancing through the lush and
noticed a little...fairy? Odd... "I haven't seen a fairy..well
ever." she said with a chuckle. About thirty feet from behind
her, she hops down from the tree landing quietly on the ground.
Being seem as a black fog from behind her, her yellow eyes
stared at the fairy, she's surprised she didn't feel the burning
through the back of her head from the intense staring. Just what
exactly resides around here? Seems pretty diverse in this
place...whatever it is. Swiftly coming up behind the fairy, she
spoke quietly to her "And what exactly are you looking for? You
know what this is right? It's a garden. Don't you fairies come
from places like these, and where did you come from anyway? I
haven't seen you around here. I actually...have never seen you
at all." Her tail raising up from beside her and flicking back
and forth.

Rai instinctively tensed up when the Goddess slapped his ass and
took his arm in hers. It had been some time since anyone had
attempted to flirt with him, and he wasn't quite sure how to
react. Luckily, his naturally cold body temperature prevented
him from being able to blush. It also apparently made her
uncomfortable, for she quickly unlatched herself from him. As
they walked, he wondered how Soraya would have reacted, had she
been present in that moment. She may have acted aggressively,
But Rai had a feeling she would have simply taken her rightful
place on his arm, and marked her territory. Probably even
laughed about it later!
Rai found it odd that she volunteered for a job she had no
experience in. But if she needed a way to pay, it only made
sense that she found a way. It was ridiculous that they had to
pay in the first place! "Well I hope so. Who knows how long
we'll be here..." When she asked about his origins, he
contemplated how to answer. She was undoubtedly attractive, the
view walking behind her was nice indeed. For that reason
especially, he didn't want to send her the wrong signal. For now
he would just observe. He gave a simple answer to a simple
question. I'm from a small shinobi village, but Now I'm the
guardian of a Realm of Dragons."
He started to return her question, but when they arrived in the
Library, he caught sight of the Fairy girl from earlier, talking
with... Nobue? Was she in the room with them? No. He surely
would have noticed her. In the past, the two had dated, before
she seemingly dropped off the face of the planet. Once again, he
was unsure how to react. Unsure what to do in this situation,
Rai nodded politely, deciding not to interrupt their discussion.
He instead made his way to the bookshelves, looking for any book
that might contain information about this hotel, or even the
dimension in which it lay...

"Dragons," she repeated softly in deep contemplation.
Her mind reeled back in time when she had ran into her first
dragon. Marvelous creatures, but they were also cold and
unyielding.
"Well, Mr. Guardian," she said, looking around the library. "I
think I'll stick by you, seeing how fate has woven our strands
together for the time being."
The library was adorned in bookcases stacked ceiling high with
old and new books, all of which concealed ageless wisdom within
their dusty pages. She was in heaven!
Quietly, she assisted in his hunt for looking up any information
about this hotel. She grabbed a book and pulled it off the
shelf, but something behind it caught her eyes. It was black
spine of a worn out book. She looked at Rai, and saw that his
back was turned. Quickly, she extracted it from the shelf and
thumbed the pages.
She ripped a page out and stuffed it in her pocket before
clearing her throat as to catch his attention.
"I think I found something," she said, walking to him with the
book laying against her arm.
It was open to a page that told of magic which was able to
retrieve random people who had something in common. Generally,
it was for people who had a same desire.
It was a long shot to say that it was what occurred to them.
But, the spell could be broken once the goal set was met by the
individual. If this were true, then they had to figure out what
they had to achieve in order to gain an exit in the realm.
"I'm sorry, handsome, I need to go to the bar though. I haven't
paid for my room yet and sleeping in the lobby when random
people covered in blood are showing up, isn't too appealing.
Want to come with?" she asked. "I'll make you an ice cold drink.
Something tells me, I can whip up something you will love."

Her statement seemed a bit presumptuous, and even more over the
top. Fate? It wasn't on the top of Raijuta's list of beliefs,
giving way to a quick chuckle. "I'm sorry, what's your name?" He
couldn't recall having heard it. "If we're going to be bound by
fate, I think I should at least know that much." He had no
intention of going around calling her "Luck Goddess." That was
simply out of the question. "I'm Rai." He said in exchange. No
need to tell her his full name.
When she came to him with the book, his expression stood as cold
as his body temperature. "It's not polite to deface property
that doesn't belong to you." He wouldn't let her know how he
knew what she had done. As far as she knew, it was simply the
sound of paper tearing. But among other things, he could sense
her pulse quickening. "What are you hiding?"
Even so, he looked at the excerpt she brought to him, speaking
of an ancient magic. He could only hope that wasn't what was
taking place here. That was the last thing he needed; A mystery.
And then, Nobue appeared through the window once more. The
second last thing; A distraction. As she approached, he released
another Icy sigh. He could recall the time they spent together
in the past. He always enjoyed it. He had high hopes for the two
of them. But that was all a memory now. nonetheless, it wasn't
something he could ignore. He looked toward her as she
approached, and offered her a smile. "Having fun, are we?"

She could sense his disbelief when she used the term 'fate'. It
would not be the first time, nor the last, someone mocked her
terminology. Perhaps if they limited their assumptions and spent
their efforts getting to know her instead, they would be able to
peal away the layers that made her 'too much'.
"Thalia," she replied, ending the precious thoughts with a jerk
of her head. "Rai. Is that short for something? Perhaps...
Raiyla? No, certainly not, that is a woman's name. Well,
actually it's made up, but if it was, it would be a female's
name."
She blinked. "What were we discussing?"
He took her by surprise as he mentioned the book page. Not
because he had noticed, but because she was still trying to
remember what it was that they were talking about and his words
threw her off.
"Wait," she said, holding up her finger. "Oh, yes! Your name.
What was it again?"
She blinked again and cocked her head.
"How do you know I'm hiding the book page? You could simply just
ask to see it," she said, frowning. She shook her head.
Before she could say any more, a woman walked in mumbled
something that made her scowl.
"Three? What am I, chopped liver?" she asked.
Then, she put two and two together and pursed her lips.
"Here," she handed him the piece of paper and she spoke lowly.
The slip of paper was blank with a 'I hate -scribbled out
name-'.
"It was rather rude, so I thought I would tear it out," she
murmured, not meeting his gaze before snatching the paper away
and crumbling it into her pocket.

She smiled as she walked out from the shadows of the bookcases
and flicked her long ponytail behind her and chuckled "Oh, come
on, Raijuita..." She said out his full name in case the young
girl didn't know his name. "You know that every day is fun for
me!" As she spun around a chair and plopped in it, she sunk
herself into it slamming her feet onto the top of the table
where the both of them are, causing a book to fly up. She caught
it in her grip and flipped it open, read a couple line of it and
slammed it shut, tossing it across the library. Taking her
finger and loosely pointing it toward the girl as she sits up
laying her elbows on the table. "Who's this?" she said, trying
to be subtle but obviously not being, probably looking very
rude, but simply showing her character aware of the terms that
they ended on. She lowered her chin a little looking at him
curiously "Is this your new Madam, I assume?"

Once again, Rai chuckled as Thalia went on her tangent about her
made up name. It seemed she was like Soraya in apparance only.
"It's short for Raijuta." He told her. When she asked how he
knew about the page she was hiding, he smirked. "I'm psychic."
He told her.
It was at that moment that Nobue spoke up, clearly upsetting
Thalia. Raijuta wasn't responsible for defending her or
preserving her feeling though. He was no hero; A nice guy at
best. A heart of ice at worst. "Nothing wrong with enjoying
life." He said to Nobue. However when she tossed the book, he
extended his hand, and a gust of wind encompassed the book,
guiding it back to the shelf. "It seems neither of you have any
respect for other people's property though."
He started to get back to reading the exerpt that Thalia had
found, but it seemed Nobue wasn't done with him yet. Just as
Nobue asked who his companion was, he found an important clue
among the text! "No." He told her. "She's not my 'madam' but she
may just be my good luck charm!" He fell silent as he read over
the paragraph again, then closed the book.
"I have a personal question for the two of you." Rai said, with
a mischievous smile on his face. "What are you greatest
desires?" He offered no explanation for his question. He only
awaited their answers. They would determine what he did next.

Her eyes flickered over the book Rai was holding, purposely
ignoring the woman's inquiry of who she was. Her identity was
far beyond a secret, but she would not stoop to such a level as
hers and dignify her with a response.
She also ignored his comment about the way she had defaced
public property. Her mind filtered through the events around her
and focused on the issue at hand.
"It appears to be a ru-..."
The woman interrupted her sentence and asked a question
unbecoming of any woman to ask. Thalia glanced up at Raijuta,
gauging his expression for a few moments. Then, she turned her
head and diverted her gaze to the woman.
She bit her tongue and chose to ignore her. It was for the best,
she convinced herself.
"Too personal," she muttered. "It would seem that I'm imposing
on something. If you will excuse me."
She nodded her head respectfully, albeit stiffly, and went
towards the exit.
