Re: Should have seen that coming!

Sachiel loved that Kaylee had a playful side. Fun was something
he had been missing lately. He listened to her bet and smiled.
He didn't overlook that the conditions of her bet meant that she
intended for him to return to her room with her, but he didn't
speak on it. Without hesitation, he scribbled something on the
paper before placing it in his back pocket. "Green Bay's got
this. " he said with confidence.
He turned to the door when it opened, seeing that it was her
driver, and wondering what it was she had asked him to do.
Nonetheless he was ready to go, until she told him about her
sudden change of plans. He didn't seem put off though. "Don't
call it a favor. " he said. "Call it a date and we're even. "
he said with a wink. "Gonna have to get changed again if you're
going to a party on -my- arm though. " he teased before heading
back to the couch. Looked like an interesting night was to
come.

His choice made her smirk in pending victory. Of course GBP was
good, but she had great faith in her team.
"Date then," she agreed then threw off the hoodie, revealing a
red tank top with straps around her neck, leaving her upper back
bare.
The tank top had a low neckline and did little to cover the
beginning of her cleavage. She then let her hair down and ran
her hand through the curls, taming them to fall down her back in
large waves.
"Ready," she said.
Kaylee tried to be ready for anything, even if she was only
going out for coffee.
-
During the car ride, she talked on the phone with her producer
who informed her of who would be at the party-including Lex
Jordan. If she was able to impress him, she would have opened a
whole new chain of stores for her coming lingerie line.
A block away from the house, she looked at Sachiel and then
dropped her eyes as she told her producer that she had to go
then hung up.
"Why do I feel like I owe you for taking me out on 'dates'? It
reminds me of the time I had to pay my younger cousin to take me
to homecoming in highschool," she blurted out.
Her face immediately turned ten shades of red.
"Remind me to burn those pictures later," she said, trying to
play it off, but she had already embarrassed herself.
Fortunately, the car came to a halt, signaling their arrival.

Sachiel's eyes widened when Kaylee revealed what was underneath
her hoodie. "I can't help but feel that you planned this..." he
said, laughing quietly. He then rose to his feet and headed out
the door with his date.
Sa ch understood that business came first in their world. He
remained quiet while she discussed her business on the phone. It
didn't bother him at all. Once she got off the phone, he
smiled happily. "You don't owe me anything!" He said. "But if
you REALLY want to pay me back, I'm sure we can come up with
something." Her tangent caused him to Crack just a bit. "Not
until i see them! He said, still holding back laughter. Once
they stopped and made it out he took her arm one more. "Shall
we? "

A single brow arched into Kaylee's forehead. "Oh, can you now?
And what would that something be?"
She smiled coyly, but she grimaced at the mention of the photos.
It would be a cold day in hell before she let anyone see those
pictures. The smile returned to her lips as she accepted his arm
and began walking to the mansion. Music blared from inside the
opened doors and windows, seeping out into the streets. The
owner of the house did not have to worry about people calling
the cops since many of the police were there partying with the
celebs. Smart, but Kaylee hated seeing how easy cops could be
bought.
Inside, people were dancing and the only illumination was party
lights that moved around rapidly. She checked the clock on her
phone. There was still ten minutes to spare.
She turned and shouted something into Sachiel's ear, but the
music drowned it out. Resorting to physical communication in
place of verbal, she motioned to the dancefloor.

"I font know. " Sach said with a smirk and a half shrug. "We
haven't thought of it yet! " a plethora of inappropriate things
came to his mind in that moment. But of course, none reached
his lips. Instead he deposited them to the back off his mind.
Surely be could use them for wagers at some point in time!
The party was impressive! No doubt better then the one the kids
from the hotel were going to! Sachiel always preferred house
parties to clubs. They had more of a personal flare to them.
After being unable to hear Kaylee's. Words, he saw her gesture
toward the dance floor. He nodded his head and followed her to
the floor. Sachiel was a decent dancer. He wasn't particularly
extravagant, but he could hold a rhythm. He learned early on
that women didn't ask much else. Watching the way Kaylee moved
those pesky thoughts came back to the forefront. A part of him
envied Kadira for taking possession of Kaylee's first french
kiss. Her body was soft, but still will shaped and toned. It
wws hard keeping hand from wandering just a little! It was fun
partying with other celebrities. All eyes weren't on you every
second, and the only paparazzi there were invited, which in
this case, there were none.
After a couple songs, a light layer of sweat coated Sachiel's
skin. He gestured toward the bar, hoping Kaylee would come
with, and wondering if she would be able to have a drink before
her meeting. He remembered her being something of a
lightweight.

Kaylee did not dance much, only for a few of the films she had
been in, but even just swaying her hips felt nice. She needed to
relax and have fun. Noticing the way Sachiel's skin glistened
beneath the party lights, she smirked to herself and nodded her
head. A drink would be splendid before talking to one of the
biggest clothing lines president.
At the bar she ordered two shots and a feminine drink on the
rocks. The two shots were to help loosen her up before meeting
the man, then the drink was for during. Kaylee downed the two
shots as soon as the bartender had delivered them.
There was no pay necessary, but a sign on the bar did ask for
tips so she threw down whatever had been in her back pocket just
as another man came up and pointed up. She nodded and grabbed
Sachiel's hand with her free one and guided him up onto the
roof.
A large pool area was set up there and another dj was in the
corner. Women paraded around in bikinis as men lounged around
and in the pool.
Although the music was loud still, it was no longer deafening.
Kaylee discreetly turned her head towards Sachiel and pretended
to look at the pool.
"That man over there on the couch is Lex. If I can get him to
cosign my brand, I will be set," she shouted so that he could
hear above the music.
The brown-headed man was on a long white sectional at the other
end of the roof within an enclosed glass sunroom. He wore a
silver tux and a red tie.
The man from downstairs whispered something into Lex's ear and
the man looked up at Kaylee and Sach through the glass the said
something to the man.
His hired hand came back and invited them in. Kaylee looped her
arm through Sachiel's and followed him into the glass room.
Lex, who was in company with two very familiar French models she
had met one summer in the Bahamas, stood and greeted them.
"Welcome to my home," he said, kissing Kaylee on the cheek then
moving to shake Sachiel's hand. "Very nice to meet you Kaylee
and Sachiel too of course. Come sit, will you?"
Kaylee sat on the opposite end of the couch to where Lex sat and
she made room for Sachiel to sit between her and one of the
models.
Then, they were thrown into a business conversation.

Sachiel had barely taken his shot and grabbed his cup of tequila
and pineapple juice when Kaylee took him by the hand and headed
upstairs. The roof reminded him off the house they stayed in on
the show, only even more extravagant! The pool made Sachiel
feel homesick. When was the last time he had been swimming? Or
SURFING! He was completely water deprived!
He focused on the goal, however, looking at the man Kaylee
identified as Lex Jordan. Sachiel hag read a pretty aggressive
article about him before. Kaylee wanted to impress him with
their interaction, but Jordan was all about his brand. At the
end of the day, her selling point was the product. If she
could make him look good with her product, she was in.
Sachiel shook the man's hand with a firm, yet not overbearing
grasp. He had grown accustomed to business interactions as of
late. He took a seat next to Kaylee, their legs barely touching.
It was a subconscious signal he was there for her. He didn't
put his arm around her though, as he would in a casual setting.
The environment of negotiation walked a very thin line between
friendly and cutthroat. Sachiel hated it. But he knew how to
play the game. And his dogs as a moderator were valuable. He
remained silent for the most part, speaking only when
necessary, to to interject a joke here or there to ease the
tension.

There were certain things Kaylee had found that one did not say
during a meeting. One of those things was so small that it could
easily sneak into a sentence upon mistake, 'but'.
Whenever Jordan brought up a point and punctured a hole in her
pitch, she would merely smile and make a joke to sidetrack the
intensity of the matter. Sachiel helped with it as well, keeping
the atmosphere light and desirable.
"No offense, Ms. Jones, but my stores do not sell celeb brands.
We sell designer clothes. You are only a face in TV," he
reasoned, putting an arm around the model to his right.
It was something she had heard a hundred times before, but it
never seemed to get old. Kaylee dropped her gaze to her lap and
smiled.
"Mr. Jordan, my sowing skills need work, not my taste for
women's fashion. You have already seen my work and I know your
time is precious to you as you are a man of purpose. If you had
not seen something that you liked, you would not have wasted
your time bringing an actress into your home in the first place.
"
Kaylee looked up and flashed a smile, though it was not a polite
one. She learned that no matter how nice she wanted to be, she
could not in this industry. People would take advantage of her.
Lex laughed and shook his head. "Very well." He took a sip of
his drink and stared at her from over the rim of the glass
before lowering it and pressing his thumb against his lips
thoughtfully. "I'll bite."
Kaylee physically restrained herself from dancing with
excitement. Instead, she unfolded her legs and leaned forward
slightly.
"You sell my brand and we cut it 70/30."
He nodded, a bit taken aback. "So low? What profit is that?"
She smiled. "Enough. My brand will sell."
Lex nodded and cleared his throat. "Maybe we will start in the
Bahamas then? Then make our way to the States."
Kaylee's entire demeanor changed as he mentioned the Bahamas.
She prayed it was coincidental, but from the models' stares it
was not.
"The Bahamas?" she inquired, sitting up.
Lex grinned and nodded. "Yes. Isn't that okay with you or is the
deal off?"
Kaylee looked away, wishing she was a million places but here.
Sachiel might not have understood what Lex meant, how could he,
but she did. If she said no, she would be losing ten months
worth of planning and a lot of money, but saying yes would mean
losing her dignity.
She stood. "Thank you for your time. I'm sorry we could not do
business."
"My offer still stands, Ms. Jones. Let me know when you are
ready to sell your brand in more than just target," he said, not
standing to say goodbye.
She simply nodded her head and left, her hand in Sachiel's
pulling him forward.
If either of them said anything out of line, Lex could easily be
her career's demise. By the pool, she stopped and looked at
Sachiel.
"Coffee?" she yelled, wanting nothing more than to get out of
there.

Sachiel smirked upon hearing Jordans claim. It was a bluff. He
was testing to see if she was tough enough to handle real
business negotiations. His smirk turned to a satisfied smile
when Kaylee called his bluff. She was pretty good! She started
a very fair division of profits, and it looked like things were
going well! But suddenly Kaylee backed all the way out!
Something about the Bahamas? Sachiel didn't know how, but he
felt that Lex Jordan had somehow disrespected Kaylee. He got up
and left with her without a word, and when she asked to go for
coffee, he agreed, leaving with his half full glass of
tequila.
One they were safely in the cat and pulled off, he took a sip.
So what did everyone in that room know that i didn't know?" He
asked. Clearly the mention of the Bahamas was the pivotal point
in the discussion, but Sachiel didn't know why. He lived the
Bahamas! He was hoping to go back there soon and the
presentation of Kaylee's line would have been the perfect
excuse!

Seated in the car, Kaylee folded her legs as usual and cupped
her hands together on her lap. She expected his inquiry and it
was fair that he knew, but it did not make remembering any less
difficult.
"Before the abrupt ending of my engagement, I expected that he
was running around on me, but I would not let myself believe it.
One weekend, I went to surprise him in the Bahamas and caught
him with the models that were with Lex tonight," she explained.
Mr. Jordan had not fancied her clothing at all, but her. Funny,
since he made it so clear that he thought of her as a washed up
actress.
"But, enough of the depressing, business stuff-..."
Her phone ringing cut her off. She pulled it out of her pocket
and answered it. It was her producer.
"Yes?" Kaylee answered. "Yes, but-. Well, no, I-. He did?"
Kaylee appeared stunned.
"Okay then."
She hung up the phone and grabbed Sachiel and kissed him.
Beaming, she retracted to explain her excitement.
"Mr. Jordan picked up my line. My producer said he loved my
brand," she said, stumbling over her words as she went. Then, it
clicked that they were in very close proximity as she had nearly
thrown herself onto his lap.
Also, she realized that she had just stolen a kiss.
Kaylee blushed and broke away. She began straightening her
shirt. The short neckline made it all too easy for her to reveal
more than just a little skin.
Despite the fact that her enthusiasm had gotten her into
trouble, she was still ecstatic. Although, Lex was a bit
unorthodox, his help still opened so many doors in her career.
The car pulled up to a coffee house just and Kaylee placed a
hand on Sachiel's arm.
"Can I borrow your jacket?" she asked.
Her low cut top was okay to party in, not for a family
establishment.
