Collision of Stars
By: Renegade Date: June 13, 2015, 5:39 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
When Aoife returned from her... outing with Stephen
she found an unconscious Jasper in the Indoor Pool area.
Panicked, Aoife quickly succumbed to a shortness of breath and
dizziness. She fainted. Moments later, Jasper awakened, coughing
water from his lungs. He remembered what had happened to him,
but was surprised to see an unconscious Aoife laying next to
him. With a sigh, he carried her to her room and stayed by her
side until she awakened. (that was a couple too many sentences.
This is harder than i thought. )
[Just go with it~]
Aoife blinked herself awake well into the next day, surprised to
find a sleeping Jasper by her side. She nudged him awake, asking
him what happened. Jasper made light of the situation, making a
joke about how he "drank too much chlorine water." He wanted to
avoid worrying Aoife, though he knew he was well beyond that
point. He spent the coming days picking on her for her heroic
rescue, and from that day on referred to her as his "Hero"
Despite her initial anger at his nonchalance of the whole
incident, Aoife eventually found herself unable to stay that
way. His jokes, while annoying, warmed her very heart - though
she would never tell him that. However, she found herself
accepting the title as Jasper's hero, choosing to stay by his
side more than not in order to keep him out of trouble.
Once the drama of the incident passed, Jasper apologized to
Aoife for his comments that morning, explaining that he only
wanted to ensure that she enjoyed herself. It was never his
intention to berate her social habits. He took pleasure in the
fact that she spent so much time together, but despite his
earlier confessions to her, it was uncertain the direction their
friendship was taking.
Days drifted by, and Aoife and Jasper drifted closer. It was
uncommon to see them apart, and everyone in the house could see
the growing relationship -the innocent romance blossoming- but
chose not to acknowledge it as the two trapped in that web had
yet to acknowledge it themselves.
It wasn't as if Jasper didn't see what was growing between them.
He woke up every morning thinking "Today might be the day" And
even Sachiel and Will, who he had grown rather close to, asked
him what the deal was. But the normally charming Jasper, who
could easily close the deal, found it difficult to bridge the
gap between "just friends" and something much deeper.
As their stay in the house was nearing its end, Aoife became
well aware of her feelings for Jasper, though she was unsure if
he felt the same way. During the last month or so, Aoife became
extremely awkward and hesitant around him, always second
guessing herself so as to not make her feelings for him obvious;
however that also led to their time together being cut in half,
as she found herself unable to stay around him without getting
flustered.
Jasper wasn't the only one to notice that Aoife was clearly
avoiding him. His friends weren't either. Shay was also paying
attention, and saw this as an opportunity to get her man back.
Jasper showed little interest at first, sure that Aoife was
simply just going through something. But as time passed, and
they continued to spend less and less time together, he
eventually gave in, returning to his ex, much to everyone's
surprise.
The less time she spent with him, the more Aoife was able to see
him drifting away from her. And closer to Shay. Aoife was never
one to be jealous of others, but she found herself unable to
like Shay. Their interactions, although brief and casual, held a
heavy note of dislike underneath. Extremely heavy. They acted
civilized in front of the cameras and kept their thughts to
themselves, but the tension grew thick and unaddressed.
Everyone seemed oblivious to the conflict between Shay and
Aoife. But Jasper knew them both well enough to see it between
them. He knew they couldn't stand each other, and though he
wouldn't admit it, he loved it! It wasn't that he was interested
in seeing two women fight, mind you, rather that it meant that,
beneath all the chaos, Aoife still felt something for him. As
Shay's boyfriend, he had to support her, but in the back of his
mind, he couldn'thelp but hope that Aoife chewed Shay up, just
once. Even if it was too late for him to have Aoife now, he knew
that things with Shay would be temporary. They always were....
Without Jasper, Aoife was all but alone in the house. Sure, she
could talk with the other houseguests now without being nervous,
but no one had gotten to know her like Jasper did, and with him
gone she felt utterly alone. But there was one houseguest who
was persistent; always asking her if she was okay, waking up
early in the morning like she did in order to avoid Jasper and
Shay. She hadn’t been expecting their little outing to become
something more, but it did. With Jasper gone, Stefan stepped in
to fill the shoes left behind; however Aoife still couldn’t keep
her thoughts away from Jasper for too long, even if Stefan did
his best to keep her occupied. Stefan and Aoife had grown
together as great friends by the time they left the house; but
their last week didn’t go as smooth as planned.
Jasper had all but removed himself emotionally from the house
and everyone in it. His eyes rarely showed any color, and when
they did, it was almost always normal eye colors, such as blue,
brown or green. Any other time they always appeared grey. The
more affection Shay showed to him, the less he seemed to care.
And the more he noticed Aoife's interactions with Stephen, the
darker the greys in his eyes became. There was less than a week
left in the show, and Jasper knew he needed to talk to Aoife
before they split ways. Shay was out with the other girls on the
cast, having a girls night out, and Jasper knew beyond the
shadow of a doubt that Aoife wouldn't have gone along. He found
her on te roof, and told her that he wanted to talk.
Aoife was completely surprised when Jasper asked her to talk.
She was the only girl that remained in the house, as the others
went out to some club she had no interested in going to. Jasper
led them up to the rooftop, and Aoife was swept into nostalgia.
Their talk had its purpose, and was executed rather quickly,
though for some reason Aoife couldn’t pull herself away from
him. Couldn’t pull herself away from him for the hour they spent
talking or when he started to lean in towards her, his eyes now
a heated pink and trained on her lips. Oh, she knew exactly what
was going to happen next, but before it could happen the door to
the roof burst open and out strutted Shay with fury in her eyes.
For some reason, Jasper remained utterly silent beside her,
showing his guilt through the color of his eyes, while Shay
proceeded to hash it out. She held back nothing, choosing to end
her argument with a few colorful words. Aoife, on the other
hand, said naught. She found herself looking to Jasper for help,
but he did nothing. It was clear to her what -who- he chose, so
she left as calmly as possible, allowing the tears to fall once
she was in the security of her bedroom, a worried Stefan
pounding on her door.
For the remaining days in the house, Jasper and Aoife didn't
speak a word. In fact, he barely spoke to anyone. It was clear
that if he hadn't scewed things up before, he had certainl done
it now. Old habits die hard, right? On the day that everyone
left, Jasper and Aoife exchanged little more than a silent head
nod goodbye, and at the reunion show, The producers had put
together "Deleted footage" of Jasper and Aoife at the Hedge
Garden, and they exchanged pleasantries, and talked about a
conversation that never happened when they made peace with each
other.Jasper managed to play it cool, but inside, he couldn't
deny that the footage had an effect on him. He and Shay had
nothing to say on the show however. They had broken up only days
after leaving the house. This time, Jasper was sure it was for
good....

After the show, despite all the downfalls and negative times,
Aoife found herself happy. Happier than she’s been in years, and
a huge part of that was Stefan. The way he treated her and made
her feel was… amazing. He was there for her even when she was
having a hard time getting over Jasper – a man she rarely ever
thinks about now. It’s been several years since they were on the
show; three, to be exact. Aoife and Stefan have been going
strong ever since. Like, really strong. As in the incredible
Hulk couldn’t split them up strong. And she’s loving every
minute of it.
She hadn’t expected him to be so accepting of her flaws, as
there are many, but he was – and she was of his as well. Their
relationship kept growing after the show. From strangers, to
friends, to best friends, to dating, to a legitimate
relationship, to a huge commitment, to the diamond ring that now
sat on her finger.
Aoife was ecstatic. Happiness couldn’t describe that soaring
feeling in her chest. He’d been out of town – out of the country
– for a while to shoot scenes for his show, when he made an
unexpected visit back home. To their apartment in Hollywood.
She’d been surprised, caught up in get together with her
girlfriends, when he dropped down on his knee and brought out
the grey velvet box he’d kept hidden in his pocket. It wasn’t
until she said yes did the rest of his cast mates come walking
in to celebrate. She was told that Stefan had the ring for
months, unable to find the right time to pop the big question.
His cast mates managed to convince him that any time was the
right time, so they stopped shooting just to fly back to
Hollywood for him to ask her.
A happy life was the least she was expecting, what with all the
drama the show caused. Aoife was surprised just how much she got
out of the experience though. Without it she would never have
been able to open herself up to people, and, honestly, Jasper
was a huge contributing factor to that. It was a lie, the
conversation they claimed to have had after the show that
patched things up between them, but Aoife has come to forgive
him and accept his decision. Because without it she wouldn’t
have gotten Stefan.
Sandpaper. It felt like sandpaper was rubbing against her cheek.
“Meow..”
Aoife groaned, rolling over and scaring the cat off her pillow.
“No, Gabby. Mommy wants to sleep a little longer.” She moaned
out, internally fuming as the cat crawled over her to lick her
face once more, relentless. With a sigh she heaved herself up,
glaring at the cat. Gabby was a group decision. She suggested it
– she’d gotten hints from him that he wants a big family. What
better way to start out than a cat? It was a good test for them.
Aoife picked out the cute little orange tabby, and Stefan named
him. Why Gabby? Because the cat sure did love to gab. He
wouldn’t shut up.
“Fine, you little meanie.” She pouted, rolling out of bed and
padding to the bathroom, where she fed the still whining cat and
got into the shower. They both had jobs, so it was typical for
Stefan to be away, but that didn’t push them apart. In fact, it
drew them in closer and only made them stronger. Luckily – not
really – for Aoife, she was waiting for the production of her
newest job to start up, so she was stuck home waiting the three
months until then while Stefan continued working on another
season of his show. At times, being lazy with nothing to do was
fun, but right now, Aoife was feeling quite lonely. Gabby could
only do so much for her.
As the cat at his breakfast, Aoife showered and got ready. There
was no way she was staying in the apartment all day, even Gabby
knew that, as he kept pacing beneath her feet, meowing. Poor
little guy didn’t like to be alone, but it wasn’t like she could
take him out for a walk. She’s already tried that. He hated it.
So with her purse and phone in hand, Aoife walked out of the
apartment, blowing a quick kiss to Gabby as she shut the door.
While she made her way down the hall she answered the various
business text messages she had, making a phone call in the empty
elevator to finalize her bookings at the hotel several months
down the road. She loved to be prepared.
She didn’t have any plans, so maybe leaving the apartment was
kind of stupid. Aoife was second guessing herself as she stepped
foot outside the complex, a few people glancing at her but none
recognizing her behind the large sun glasses and grey knitted
beanie she wore. Well, with nothing to do, Aoife began to make
her way to her favorite coffee shop, eyes constantly glancing at
the phone in her hand for a good morning text message from
Stefan, who was out of the country, so multiple hours behind her
schedule. All the while her thumb subconsciously played with
the ring on her finger, running along the beautiful silver band
every so often as if to remind herself that this wasn’t a dream.

Three years... Three years had passed since the show. And Jasper
had been flourishing ever since! He had several parts in movies,
and an extremely popular show on FOX That was entering into it's
third season! Ironically enough, Jasper was the leading role,
with two potential love interests. his Net Worth had nearly
doubled since the show, and he was always working on something.
But his success in Hollywood wasn't reflected in his social, or
his love life...
Of course, the cameras were always catching shots of Jasper out
at parties or events with various female stars, but in that
time, not one person could speak of a relationship that he was
in. Naturally, he kept up with the tabloids, and saw the way
that Aoife and Stefan's relationship was growing. Every time he
saw an update, he turned off the TV, closed the magazine, or
whatever source it was. He couldn't hate Stefan for doing what
he should have done... He just didn't want to be constantly
reminded of how he always screwed everything up!
Today was a day designated for Jasper to relax and do nothing.
That was, until he got the phone call
"Jasper McGill."
"I know who you are! You ready for tonight?"
"Tonight?"
"The Teen Choice Awards! You said you would go!"
"Dammit! I forgot! Give me an hour. I'll be dressed and
ready..."
Jasper had forgotten all about the event! It wasn't major enough
to go on his schedule, but he had promised to make an appearance
if possible. It wasn't a big payday, but it was good for the
kids... Jasper hopped in the shower and prepared to get ready.
Who knows? It could be fun!

It was halfway through her chai tea did her phone finally
vibrate, signaling she’d just received a text message. Aoife
immediately set her tea down, downing the now comfortably hot
tea she had in her mouth, and fumbled around for her phone,
almost dropping it in the process.
Just like she expected, it was a text from Stefan, wishing her a
great morning and good luck for ‘tonight’. But what was tonight?
It was that very thought that she sent back as a reply, waiting
anxiously for his response.
The Teen Choice Awards, of course! You’re nominated three times!
Aoife stared at the screen of her phone, face emotionless, eyes
round. Oh, yeah. She was nominated for them. An embarrassed
Aoife tapped back how she forgot, biting her lip. How could she
forget! It was just then that an alarm went off on her phone, a
reminder that clearly read: ‘Meet Nico in one hour to get ready
for the Teen Choice Awards’. Her palm slapped to her forehead
and she sunk down in her chair, letting out a sigh. “I’m such an
idiot..” Was all she could say as she got up and made her way
out of the little café, heading over to Nico’s now – no point in
wasting time. He loved it when she arrived early, it gave him
more time to “work the magic”.
And gosh, did he need to work a lot of magic.
It felt like an eternity. Much unlike herself, Nico was a
perfectionist. It took a team of three, including the wonderful
Nico himself, to get Aoife prepped and ready for tonight. She
didn’t even have an acceptance speech, it’s not like she
normally came to those kinds of things anyways. Award shows and
their ginormous amount of attendees freaked her out, but Stefan
encouraged her to do it, so she was going through with it.
Hopefully she got to sit next to someone cool.
She looked in the full length mirror, illuminated by high
intensity lights that showed every imperfection. But after what
Nico put her through, not a thing was out of place. Her auburn
hair was curled beautifully and pinned up elegantly, makeup done
just as beautifully – nothing too intense, but her eyes popped
wonderfully – and she was dressed to the nines in a dress that
basically looked like fancy curtains, but she somehow managed to
pull it off, and some strappy gold heels. Heels, something Aoife
still didn’t know how to walk in. She looked like a clomping
horse, not some cool nominee. She may not look perfect when she
walked, but by damn she looked good when she stood. The heels
helped her posture. Even in the dress, which wasn’t completely
fitted, her ass looked great.
It was nearing an hour before the award show, and the limousine
pulled up in front of the carpet. That dreaded walk of
almost-shame she would have to make before entering the safety
of the building. Hopefully she didn’t trip.
With a deep breath to sooth her nerves, the driver opened the
door and Aoife stepped out into the flashing of the cameras, a
bright smile glued to her face.

While Aoife was in her limo, she would recieve an email to her
phone directly from Steven Spielberg, about an audition in NYC
the next day. Should she choose toparticipate, her flight would
be leaving at 1:21am that night.
-----------------
Jasper thanked God at every big event for not making him a
woman; Ironic, since he wasn't the religious type. Even so, he
was thankful that he didn't have to worry about things like
hairdressers, or makeup artists. He just had to make his hair
messy enough, and put on a nice suit. He recieved an interesting
email just before leaving. It seemed he would be having a longer
night than anticipated... Jasper's limo pulled up to the Red
Carpet behind Aoife's. He could see her, clear as day through
his window, taking pictures. Her straightened posture suggested
she had on heels, which he knew she couldn't walk well in. Of
course, it had been nearly three years since he had last seen
her, She could have learned to walk in heels by now, but he
couldn't help but feel that wasn't the case.
He was supposed to wait until the celebrity before him made it
down the red carpet before exiting his vehicle, but Jasper
screwed the rules as he always did, and got out of the car after
the paparazzi had taken enough photos. He walked over to Aoife's
side and offered her a smile, as well as his arm for support. As
they made their way down the carpet, it was clear that they
weren't dates, and only escorts. Nonetheless, Jasper ensured
that Aoife made it away from the cameras with no incidents, and
once they were inside, he gave her a nod, and allowed her to
find her way to her seat. Naturally, he mingled a bit in the
hosting area first.
When he finally did make his way to his seat, who should he find
in the seat next to his, but Aoife! Yellow colored eyes and a
brilliant smile shone at her as he made his way to his seat. "No
way you can tell me this wasn't planned." He said, seating
himself happily. He knew of Aoife's life, but he was still glad
for a chance to get to talk to her for a while. If nothing else,
he could make the story they told on the reunion show a matter
of truth, and not fiction...

Just as she was getting out of the limo, she felt her phone
vibrate in her clutch. Deciding to address it later, Aoife
continued with what she was doing, smiling as she made her way
onto the colored carpet as gracefully as she could. The first
few steps she took were wonderful, and that was all that needed
to happen for the paparazzi to go crazy over her. With all the
flashes going off she didn’t know which camera to look at – not
that it really mattered. The paparazzi could get really feisty.
Thankfully they didn’t with her.
She was just about to take another step, albeit shaky and
awkward, when the paparazzi began to shout out a name other than
hers. “Jasper! Jasper, over here!” Jasper? She sure as heck
wasn’t named Jasper. It finally clicked just as he appeared by
her side. Aoife returned the smile, hesitantly at first, but was
soon grateful for the assistance he offered. She delicately held
onto his arm, using him for support as they made their way down
the carpet. With Jasper there Aoife managed to move gracefully
in front of the cameras. Thank heavens she didn’t trip.
When they made it inside they parted. They exchanged no words as
he made his way into the crowd to mingle with people and she
turned to go to her seat – she still had no clue who she would
be sitting by. Because she a potential award winner, she was
definitely placed close to the stage, but by whom she could only
hope they weren’t smelly and obnoxious.
Once she was seated in her assigned seat, Aoife pulled out her
phone to see what the buzz was about. It took a solid minute
before everything clicked in her head. “Holy shit..” She mumbled
under her breath, gleaning through the contents. The first thing
she did was call Stefan. It was relatively quiet where she was,
as there was still an hour to go before the show and many were
out mingling. After telling him the great news, Aoife replied
back, graciously accepting the offer. During the rest of the
wait for the show to start, Aoife began writing down a list of
what she would need to pack in her phone, excitement buzzing
through her body.
It was finally nearing the show and everyone began to take their
seats. The one next to her remaining open until none other than
Jasper showed up. Aoife returned the smile, turning herself
towards him to make conversation much easier. “You know me so
well. I called ahead and asked to be seated next to you.” She
said, humor clear in her voice. “And thank you for earlier. I
definitely would’ve fallen on my face without you.” The humor
turned to sincerity as she spoke, placing her hand on his arm
and giving it a soft squeeze. Despite how bad things went on the
show, Aoife had come to terms with it. She wasn’t going to dwell
on the past when she had so much to look forward to in the
future.
“So how’ve you been?”

The laughs started practically as soon as he made it to his
seat. "Well nice to know you learned a thing or two from me in
the house!" He rebutted quickly. It did sound like the kind of
thing Jasper would do; If he didn't know how much Aoife hated
these kinds of events. He never expected her to be there, let
alone seated next to him! He shook his head, hints of blue
mixing into the yellow color in his eyes. "It was nothing,
really. In fact, Jasper McGill just looks better with a woman on
his arm! Making sure you didn't trip was just a by-product!" He
laughed aloud, almost in disgust of referring to himself in the
third person. After three years of not seeing each other, their
natural back and forward hadn't slowed a bit!
When Aoife asked Jasper how he had been, his smile brightened.
"You know me! Life is a party! Business is good and I've got a
different date every night! I couldn't be happier!" It was
probably the first lie he had ever told her. And from the way
his eyes darkened from a bright yellow to a dim blue, she would
probably pick up on it immediately, despite the brilliant smile
that remained on his face.
"Listen." He said, the playfulness in his voice fading as he
spoke. "I know it was a long time ago, but I'm sorry for the way
things turned out in the house. You deserved much better... The
lights began flashing as the show began It seemed they were out
of time...

His words struck a chord within her. The smile on her face
faltered for a fraction of a second as her thoughts buzzed
inside her head. ‘Jasper McGill just looks better with a woman
on his arm!’ It hurt her, thinking their time together in the
house was all just a ploy to look good, but Aoife forced herself
to forget about it. No more dwelling in the past! She chastised
herself, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear as
she fell back into the conversation, lips curving into a smile
as she chuckled along with him. “And anyone would look good
hanging off of Jasper McGill’s arm. So I should thank you for
making us both look ravishing in front of the cameras.” She
replied, playing along with him. Aoife was glad there was no
tension between them – or at least they were both good at
acting.
Her smile broadened as he talked about himself. In all honesty,
that sounded horrible. After so long of being with one person
and being truly happy, Aoife felt bad for Jasper. A different
date every night just sounded.. wrong. And with the way his eyes
started to change color she could tell he wasn’t happy with it
either. However, she didn’t look into it too much, not wanting
to make the conversation uncomfortable.
Alas, things didn’t always turn out that way. Jasper’s demeanor
changed and a feeling of impending doom began to settle over
them. The peacefulness between the two was sacrificed as he
brought up their time in the house. At least he was apologizing
for it. Despite her thoughts dropping, Aoife’s hazel eyes
remained bright and twinkling, a dazzling smile on her face.
Once more she placed her hand on his arm, giving it another
comforting squeeze. “Seriously, it’s fine. I deserved much
better, and I got exactly that. I—“ She was going to continue,
but was cut off by the lights flashing, signaling the beginning
of the show. Aoife gave him a small smile before turning her
eyes up to the stage.

Jasper noticed the moment of hesitation from Aoife before she
responded. He wondered if, somewhere inside she believed his
words. She was just naďve enough for that to be the case… But if
it was, she did a good enough job of covering it up that he
didn’t feel a need to console her. “Well I try my best!” He
said, flashing his pearly white teeth at her. He noticed a flash
go off just as they made eye contact. The paparazzi were like
vultures! You couldn’t let your guard down, or look bad for a
second, or you would be in the tabloids before sunrise!
Jasper was glad she didn’t call him out on his faux display. Any
of his fans would have bought it, but anyone who knew him
personally would know better. But what was he supposed to do?
It wasn’t like he could give her a sob story! After all, he was
to blame for his predicament.
He halfway expected Aoife to dismiss his apology, but her
response was more of a crushing blow, than a casual acceptance.
“I deserved much better, and I got exactly that.”
Jasper feared that his chest may have had a noticeable spasm as
his heart crashed into his stomach violently. He tried to fix
his mouth to say something, but found himself unable. Another
flash as her hand met with his arm. Aoife never attended these
events, but Jasper knew what that meant… Rumors about the two
could be surfacing soon. But the shots they had were nothing
notable though. As long as they had something juicier, the shots
would be archived, and probably never used. But the cameras
would die down for now, as the show was beginning.
The teen choice awards were a lighter environment than the more
“mature” award shows. The entertainment and awards were catered
to a younger crowd. They were very cautious about ensuring that
the winners would be considered good role models by the parents.
With that in mind, Aoife could probably walk away with each and
every award! An hour into the show, Aoife had already won “Best
Actress” for one of her recent movie roles. The movie also won
“Best Drama;” Another victory that would be attributed to Aoife.
Jasper hadn’t won an award, which he didn’t find surprising. His
roles were more aggressive, and the Academy didn’t look on that
lightly. But it was time for a short intermission, which lead to
Jasper’s heart racing faster than he could keep up with. “I’m
going to grab a drink. Want one?”
He was gone practically before she could answer, and returned
shortly with two cups of cranberry juice. Of course they didn’t
have alcohol at the Teen Choice Awards! “I hope they don’t run
too late! I have to catch a flight late tonight…”

The flashes didn’t go unnoticed. The paparazzi were extremely
annoying, always prying into personal lives, but really, Aoife
didn’t blame them. It was there job, after all. But she still
didn’t like them. She could only hope that there wasn’t a
headline claiming she and Jasper were getting ‘more than
comfortable at the Teen Choice Awards’. That would be
disgusting; however she knew Stefan would understand and believe
her when she explained what really happened. He was the one she
was getting married to, not Jasper. In all honestly though,
reading an article about some guy breaking up a marriage would
be extremely entertaining.
Aoife was surprised. She knew she was nominated, but never
expected to win anything. In fact, she was also surprised that
Jasper hadn’t won anything. Not only was he an amazing actor,
but he was also hot. Young girls loved him. The female species
in general loved him. Where were his awards?
Intermission came and Aoife let out a deep breath, cheeks
flushed with the sudden influx of attention. Celebrities all
around her were congratulating her; pats on the back, fake hugs,
handshakes. Goodness, she hated being touched like that by
strangers, but she really couldn’t do anything else to
graciously thank them with a wide smile. She played that role
extremely well.
Jasper’s question drew her attention. Hazel eyes focused on him
and she was just about to speak when he bolted out of his seat
and sliced his way through the crowd of people to get drinks.
“Yeah, I want a cranberry juice, please,” She muttered under her
breath with a furrowed brow, confused by his readiness to get up
and leave. Aoife supposed he was frustrated that he hadn’t won
an award yet. Jasper was the most outgoing person she knew, it
must be hard not getting the attention he was so used to.
It wasn’t long before he returned. Aoife accepted the cup of
cranberry juice with a smile, uttering a quick thank you before
bringing the glass to her lips to quench her thirst. As she
drank she nodded her head eagerly in agreement, brows lifting as
she hurriedly swallowed the mouthful of juice. “Me too! Which
reminds me, I need to call the Mrs. Abernathy and ask her to
feed Gabby while I’m gone…” She trailed off, taking her phone
out to send a quick message to the aforementioned woman as well
as ask her to pack Aoife’s suitcase. Mrs. Abernathy, a young
widow at the age of 47, was like an aunt to Aoife and
immediately accepted the task of cat-sitting and suitcase
packing. She also sent a quick text to Stefan, informing him of
the awards she’s gotten so far.
Once everything was all settled Aoife turned her attention back
to Jasper, offering him a smile. “So what time is your flight?”
