Re: Tale of Two Kingdoms

Jasper hadn't known that pleasure like this existed; that such
raw passion between two people could carry him to a place where
power, status, or titles meant nothing. Where there was no past,
no future, only the moment; The moment where he was so
completely absorbed in her, that she encompassed everything that
was his world.
Every moan from the woman's lips was a treasure. A A catalyst
for something primal within him, that begged for another. The
way her hips moved to meet his own drove him to near insanity;
Pushed him to drive deeper into her core as she dined on his
flesh. He didn't fight her this time. They were in sync, and it
was possibly the best thing he had ever experienced! Her climax
would be his breaking point. when she screamed into his mouth,
her voice radiated, and rebounded through his insides, sending
it's vibrations to every part of his body, and pushing him to
his own eruption! A series of low moans escaped his lips and
traveled down Ayla's throat, as he found himself releasing all
of the aggresion that had built up over the past weeks. his
breath was heavy as he removed his mouth from hers, and reverted
to planting kisses wherever his lips would land.
For a moment, there was silence. Only the sound of the two
breathing. One would assume that this was the end of their bout.
But something about the woman just drove Jasper to crave her.
The appearance of her below him, and the warmth of her walls
brought about a sudden second wind! Who knows how much time had
passed by the time the two finished, but they had somehow found
their way from the treehouse floor to the Hammock! Bodies
covered in nothing but sweat, it would seem they had exhausted
everything they had. It would soon be time to return to their
cruel reality. And surely the events of that night would have a
lasting effect on the events to come...

Jasper's eyes didn't open until just before the guard appeared
in the door. Well fuck... It would have been easy to come up
with a story about coming here with Ayla early in the morning,
but now the only way to pass that story off would be to kill the
guards that had seen them! He cursed himself for even allowing
the thought to cross his mind. He wouldn't be like his mother.
Never. He would face what came his way like any other man, not
by hiding behind his power as King.
In five minutes , they were dressed and on their way back to the
Palace. The ride back was nothing like the ride there. Well, it
was just like the ride there, but the knowledge of what was to
come made it impossible to enjoy in the same way. Before they
even made it all the way into the building, there was a man with
papers for jasper. They were plans for the damaged buildings.
"So the old coots can do something productive after all!" He
said as he flipped through the pages. There were several others
at Jasper's heels, wanting to discuss matters ranging from the
upkeep of the streets of the Kingdom to what color Drapes to put
in the Dining Hall this season. It was enough to make him want
to turn around and leave all over again! But there was no way
with so many eyes seeking him out. He and his entourage finally
made it to the Throne room, where he tried to turn and offer
Ayla a farewell greeting before being practically pushed into
the room. He was unsure whether she saw or not...

"We didn't call you in here for you to keep us up all night,"
growled one of the elders. "We called you to get an answer! This
has to be addressed now! "
Essie was so tired, so tired, and the elders' irritation no
longer phased her. She had gotten a whole hour of sleep before
she was woken up with news that Jasper had run out and she was
needed. One hour since the three hours of sleep two days ago,
this was killing her. At her burial, people will be laughing at
how their ruler died, not from war or a horrible illness, but of
sleep deprivation. Ah well, it was better than decapitation.
This morning, she had finally sent a guard out to hunt Jasper
down. When he had arrived, she had been informed of his
whereabouts and condition they had found him in. Jasper arrived
soon after, followed by dozens of people. She stood from his
throne and bowed as the custom called for and made a way for him
to sit in her place.
"Leave us," she commanded, drawing every eye to her.
"Princess, we haven't finished-... "
Essie nodded. "I'm well aware, but-... "
The male elder who had given her so much grief stepped forward
and interrupted her in mid-sentence. "No! You need to -..."
"I will not say it again," she warned, her eyes narrowing. "And
do not interrupt... "
"We have so much that needs to be done!" he insisted.
Having not eaten more than a slice of bread in two days, getting
barely no sleep, dealing with screaming people and now Jasper,
she snapped.
"I AM your princess, you submit to me. Do not take my patience
for ignorance. Either leave peacefully or be escorted by a guard
and be relieved of your title," she said, her voice steady and
even as she planted her feet.
No one said a word as they left. She even dismissed the guards
and shut the door. When Jasper and her were alone, she turned on
him.
"You told me to sleep," she reminded him. "I had been by your
side every day since you fell were asleep. Not that you even
care, but I thought you could at least share this load with me.
Instead, you have to go off and play Renegade!"
Essie was unstoppable. All of the stress, exhaustion, hunger,
and fear all came out within that moment.
"And really? Ayla? You told me we would talk about the curse
soon," she said, taking a step forward. "You are pissed off at
me for hiding something from you when I kept it out of fear of
losing you. I mess up once and everything we shared means
nothing? You couldn't have even given me the benefit of the
doubt by telling me to my face that we had no chance in Hades."
She shook her head and raised her hands in an exaggerated shrug.
"You know what," she said, looking at him with teary eyes. "You
keep searching for happiness, Jasper. I can't give that to you.
I needed you."
Her auburn hair fell down over her shoulders as she lowered her
head, instantly ashamed if her outburst.
"I'm sorry, I'm just tired," she whispered then bowed. "Forgive
me, my king."

"Halt!" Jasper called, before the elders left the room. "I sent
Essie to rest, and you took it upon yourselves to force her to
go against my wishes. Then you have the gall to accuse her of
failing to perform?" his eyes filled with anger. "You'll repair
the Southern District with your own Hands! And I expect it done
in three days! Begone!" They didn't dare talk back. Not in the
King's current state. they disappeared from sight, planning a
time to ask him to reconsider.
Jasper stood with his head held high as eh accepted Essie's
tongue lashing. Though he stood with Pride, the sorrow in his
eyes was apparent. It was the first time he found no amusement
in the name "Renegade" He didn't say a word until she was
finished, which was just after her apology. "Essie, you don't
owe me an apology. But the information you've been given isn't
completely accurate."
He cursed the guards for their inability to keep their damn
mouths shut! The entire staff of the Palace actually! Word
traveled faster than magic around this place. Jasper still
hadn't gotten past the idea of replacing the whole lot of them!
"I met with the elders." Jasper began. "I listened to all of
their issues, as well as their opinions. I told them what I
expected of them, which, to my surprise, they executed
efficiently." He looked at the papers they had eelivered as he
spoke. "They told me about the situation with the Queen's
title."
Jasper then took a seat on the steps leading up to the Throne.
It wasn't that he wasn't prepared to sit in it, but he didn't
want to position himself above Essie. If anything, she deserved
the higher position in this situation. "Ayla doesn't want to be
Queen. You have to know that." He searched her eyes for the
answer. "But nonetheless, I told the elders that we would put
that issue off until I could sit down and talk to the both of
you. I didn't sneak out! I adjourned the meeting, and sent the
elders to work on their assignment. But tell me, would you be
tired after sleeping for a week? I went out to the stables for a
ride. I didn't plan, or expect for Ayla to come along."
The aggression that had slowly built up in his voice faded away
at that point. It now filled with some unknown emotion that
resulted in an unusual green color in his eyes. "But since she
did, I decided to go to the Fort. i went to thank all of her men
for supporting us in battle. I hadn't seen them since everything
happened... We had a big meal, and a -lot- of Whiskey..." He let
the story drop there, figuring that Essie could piece together
the rest.
h didn't remain silent for long though. "None of this is going
the way I'd imagined. I do want to talk to you about the curse,
and a million other things. But in your current condition I
don't want you to do anything but sleep and eat!" He stood to
his feet, and took Essie's hand. Before she could object he was
already casting a spell, and in a moment, they were in Essie's
Palace, in her old room. Essie, please rest, and I swear I won't
leave the Palace again until you return. I'll deal with every
issue, and answer every stupid question that comes my way, and I
won't let anyone come looking for you." His eyes begged Essie to
accept his offer. Even if he had lost any chance of having her
love again, she needed to be well. She was the only one who
could rule this Kingdom, be it by his side, or alone...

The ease of Essie's submission was one of her more endearing
traits. But it also made it dificult for her to properly express
herself. Interesting how Ayla's difficulty submitting gave her
the same issue. Maybe communication was just difficult,
regardless of who you are.. Regardless, Jasper took solace in
the fact that Essie listened to him, and went to sleep. He
quickly returned to the Palace. It was fortunate that he was
what they called a prodigy in the Magical Arts. It seemed he
wasn't good at much else.
Upon his return, he didn't go back to the Throne Room. Instead,
he made his way to the room he often found his father in; The
seldom spoken Office, reserved for the King to handle business
in private. He immediately got to work reviewing proposals and
signing off on paperwork. It wasn't long, however, before he was
found. He heard the footsteps coming, and thought it was one of
the Advisors, hoping to change his mind about their punishment.
He was pleasantly surprised, however, when Walter made his way
through the office door.
With a smile, he raised himself from his desk and went to offer
his friend a hearty hake. "Where have you been" He asked the
young Noble. "I could have used you around these past few
weeks!" From an early age, Jasper and Walter had been close
friends. Walter had always pushed Jasper to get with Essie, even
in the days when they didn't get along. Of course, his interest
in their relationship was based solely on Essie's physical
attractiveness, but still, it turned out there may have been
some insight there after all.
"Well, I was a suitor for a Princess of a Kingdom near the
coast." He explained. "Her father chose another to stay for her
Trial period though." He explained. "I've been home for five
days though. I heard a lot happened. I'm sorry about your
parents..." Despite Walters playful, and forward exterior, he
was truly a sensitive guy. Perhaps that was why he and Jasper
hit it off so well. They were very much alike. Jasper nodded his
head, and returned to his desk. He would have preferred not to
hear about his parents. Walter picked up on his change of
Demeanor, and quickly changed the subject.
"I came by to visit you a couple times in the past few days. I
met Essie's sister briefly. She's hot too! I hope you're not
letting her distract you from the ultimate goal!" He was hitting
all the wrong buttons today. But this time it wasn't his fault.
It was Jasper's. He dove back into his paperwork, avoiding eye
contact at all costs."
"Oh my God you are!" Walter exclaimed, reading Jasper like a
book. "Come on man! Focus! I heard you and Essie had really been
hitting it off since she came to stay in the Kingdom!"
Jasper huffed and glared at Walter with dangerous orange colored
eyes. "You've missed a lot more than you know." Jasper said,
hoping it would sate Walter's barrage of questions. Of course he
wouldn't be so lucky.
"So fill me in!" Jasper exhaled heavily once more, realizing he
wouldn't get out of this conversation until he obliged. He
gestured toward the door, and Walter went to close it. This
would be a long one...

The cook wiped her hands on a dirty apron and turned her back on
a huge, delicious tray of rolls. Robin saw his chance and
hurriedly snatched one up as he casually strolled past. As if
sensing his thievery, the cook snapped her head up and glared at
the boy. He sprinted out of the kitchen and down the hallway
with the angry cook at his heel.
Turning a sharp corner, he picked the first door he came to and
shut it behind him. Pressing his ear against the wood, he
listened until the cook's footsteps faded. Then he giggled and
stuck the entire roll in his mouth and looked over his shoulder
only to find the king and another guy. He swallowed the roll,
then coughed.
"Hello, Sir King," he said once his mouth was cleared. "I was
just testing rolls for ya. Don't worry, it wasn't poisoned."
Ayla's son walked over to a large chair in front of his desk and
jumped up into it. He ran his hands over the arms that we're
curved at the ends. His features resembled his father, but he
had his mother's color of hair and eyes.
"So-..." he started.
"Robin! I know you stole a roll! You get back here or I swear I
will put you on kitchen duty for a week!" yelled the cook as she
walked down the hall.
Robin rolled his eyes. "Whoever Robin is, I feel bad for him. So
misunderstood."

Jasper had just caught up to the present when his Office door
suddenly opened. He was prepared to discipline whoever came in
so suddenly without knocking or announcing themselves, but when
the boy came in, closing the door behind him, the anger on
Jasper's face melted immediately. He hasn't seen the boy since
the incident with the Queen, but now, looking himin his eyes,
there was no doubt that he was Ayla's daughter. He had
regretting not asking how he was doing when he had the chance
the night before, bus seeing that he was up and getting into
trouble already brought a smile to the King's face.
"Well thank you very much, young one!" He said, amused at the
boy's antics. He had a mischievous streak like his mother. It
took quite a bit of effort not to allow his mind to go... there.
He watched as the boy made himself comfortable, sitting with
grown men as if they were his lifelong friends. That was when he
heard the Cook running down the hall looking for him. He
exhanged a silent laugh with Walter, who would surely remember
snatching food from the Kitchen with Jasper when they were
younger. Robin... So that was his name...
Jasper smiled when Robin tried to detach himself from his name.
"Well, I think I know just how to punish this Robin guy." He
said, a glint on mischief in his eyes as well.
"How's that?" Walter asked, instantly jumping into the game. He
never missed a beat, which made him the ideal partner in crime.
"I'm going to make him become my official food tester. That way,
loyal subjects like this lovely young man don't have to risk
being poisoned to protect me!" Walter smiled, and attempted to
hold back his laugher. "I think that's a perfect idea, your
Majesty! We can't have good citizens risking themselves!" Both
sets of eyes settled on Robin, curiously awaiting his reaction.

Jasper and Walter both fell into uproarious laughter when the
boy gave himself away so easily. Of course, that was probably
the reason it was so easy for Ayla to find them. She had a
playful way of scolding the boy, halfway laughing, even as she
told him he couldn't steal from the kitchen. "Why not? We did it
when we were his age?" Walter said, stifling his laughter only
long enough for the words to escape.
"Don't worry about the Chef." Jasper said when she told Robin to
go apologize. It was an odd feeling. It had only been an hour
since the two parted ways, but it somehow felt like the next
day. "Robin here has taken up employment in the Palace. he'll
work off his debt in no time!" Robin solidified their agreement
by saying he would start the next day. "There ya go!" He said
with a laugh.
Walter's eyes widened, upon hearing Ayla's final comment, but
his father had taught him to be a fly on the wall in situations
like this. As badly as he wanted to scream "Last Night!?" at
Jasper, he held his tongue and remained as invisible as he could
make himself, discretely eyeing Jasper out of the corner of his
eye.
Jasper was not taken aback by Ayla's boldness though. It was
something he expected of her. He challenged her smirk with his
own. "Nothing a hot bath couldn't fix up." He winked a purple
and gold eye at her, willing to bet money that was where she had
been since their arrival. She wasn't the easiest person to read,
but something told him he would catch her this time...

"Son, pull the reins," Ayla instructed, giggling as he fiddled
with them before giving a soft tug with a grunt.
He was seated in front of her on the horse and she was trying to
teach him to ride. Seemingly enjoying himself as he drove his
feet into the horse's side. The horse went faster over the hills
until they had reached her home. He was awestruck by all of the
treehouses and men around.
"Wow mom!" he exclaimed, not waiting for her to stop the horse
before he jumped off. "I can see why you left me."
The words stung, but she calmly bent down to eye level and
placed her hands on his shoulders. "I did leave you, but I never
abandoned you. I wanted to give you a life I didn't have and my
life was in trouble by staying there. I always thought of you.
And now all that matters is that we are together."
He nodded his head, not fully grasping the situation completely.
"Okay mom."
The day was spent introducing him to everyone and swimming in
the lake. At dusk, they took off back to the castle for dinner.
When they arrived, the dining area was deserted, but the food
was there nonetheless. He looked around, confused.
"Where's the king? I gotta taste his food! Maybe, he will have
steak for me to test," he said looking around.
She laughed. He was most certainly her boy!

Ayla enjoyed the back and forward between them. In all honesty,
Jasper did too. He leaned forward as she approached. "Yes I
would. Very much so!" Walter didn't impede on his reaction at
all. His presence didn't seem to bother Ayla, so he wouldn't let
it get to him either. He leaned back upon hearing the
information she presented to him. he folded his hands behind his
head and let out a sigh. "I don't care if they're happiness.
They'll be lucky if they still have jobs this time next year."
He spoke with a huff. Perhaps he was playing tough for her sake.
Maybe for his own. He wasn't sure. but the one thing that he was
sure of, was that if he could take it back, he wouldn't. Well...
Maybe he would have gotten up earlier, but other than that!
His brow furrowed when she asked Walter where Essie was, instead
of him, but he shrugged it off, as she was on the way out the
door anyway. Moments after they left, the chef yelled out again,
and both men burdt into laughter once more. "He'll be running
the plaace in a month." Jasper said with a laugh. Walter nodded
and wiped an imaginary tear from his eye.
After that, Jasper got back to work, diving into the paperwork,
but Walter wasn't having it! "No sir! you don't get off that
easy! You're doing Essie's sister!?" Jasper sighed and gestured
towards the cracked door once more.
