Calia And Dante
By: Elias Iceshard Date: May 28, 2015, 4:57 pm

Flames flicker in and out As if new life was being born. A
sudden burst of the flames created the being known as Dante
Aladir. A white muscle shirt covered the torso of the jinn. Blue
jeans fell upon black shoes. The being started walking towards a
boulder. With each footfall a cloud of dust broke the surface of
the ground. Dante came to a stop and let out of long sigh as
emerald green eyes looked out upon the sunlit meadow.

The hardest thing about Calia's life had always been fitting in.
She liked living among regular people with regular lives, though
she herself was far from regular. Because of this she was never
able to settle down long, before some incident caused her to
have to up and leave. This time the incident took place in a
small diner, something easily avoided. But it was too late now.
On the search for a new place to settle.
Unable to take anything with her, even her car was a thing of
the past. She was less than a memory. She walked for what seemed
like ages. Stayed in Motels, Caught rides, and she still hadn't
found a place to call home. On this day she found herself in
the middle of nowhere, walking West when something caught her
eye. Her eyes cut to the right at the same instant that the
burst of flames appeared, and a man erupted from them. Well that
wasn't something you saw every day... He wasn't normal either.
Which meant he was the last person she needed to be around. He
was kinda cute though... "Flames went out in the 80's" She said
to him with a smile as she approached. "It's all about lightning
nowadays!"

Dante's gaze looked to the women before he spoke up saying "I
admit flames are a little out dated, but It's easier to travel
in flames then lightning. Less destruction." Dante took a quick
glance over the woman clearly admiring how beautiful she was.
"My name is Dante what is yours?" He spoke up as he folded his
arms across his torso. Flames started dancing across the surface
of this arms as he waited patiently for the womans response.
Dante knew that he would have to hid what he truelly was for
safety of the women who was standing in front of him.
A sigh soon escaped his lips as he closed his eyes absorbing the
remainder of the flames that were previously dancing across his
arms. "What brings you to these woods?" Dante asked as he leaned
against a tree. He knew that his own house wasn't far from here
if things turned bad. Dante had lived his life on the run from
people. A truth be told he kind of enjoyed being alone. Dante
turned his gaze towards the brick house that laid up the road as
he waited to hear what this girl had to say.

Calia couldn't help but giggle when the man explained his
reasoning for traveling in flames. She hadn't expected him to
really consider her words. When he introduced himself, she
imitated his stance, folding her arms in front of her chest.
"I'm Calia." She said with a smile, as flames began to dance
over her arms as well. "Guys are such show offs! Human or
otherwise!"
She looked off in the direction she was headed when the man
asked what she was doing out there. "Just passing through
really." She said. In all honesty she didn't know where she was
going. She was just going to keep moving until she found a town
she would like to settle down in. Her eyes followed his, over to
the brick house, but they didn't remain there long. "That your
house?" She asked as she looked back toward the man once more.
It was at that moment she asked herself why she had stopped. She
usually wouldn't stop to talk to anyone who wasn't human. Other
creatures attracted too much attention. But here she was,
talking to the... Flaming... Guy...

Dante spoke up as he heard her ask if the house he looked at was
his, "Yes that is my house. I live there alone since as you saw
I wouldn't fit in with anyone. He spoke up as he watched her
imitate him. "I apologize if it seemed like I was showing off."
He spoke as he looked to the lake that had been merely a 100
feet from them. "I enjoy living out here by the lake and
forest." He spoke up knowing that he was probably going to be
alone in the next few minutes.
"As for a village I'm afraid the nearest village is 40 miles
past my house." He spoke up knowing that not many people from
the village ever ventured out this way. "You are more then
welcome to stay here if you wish." he spoke up as he walked past
the girl heading the lake. The crystal blue waters lapping
against the shore. As he got to the shoreline he took his shirt
off and walked into the water.

Calia's expression softened when he explained why he was living
alone out in the middle of nowhere. Unlike her, he wasn't even
attempting to fit into society. She couldn't imagine being so
isolated, and the thought made her feel a little sad. But she
didn't let it keep her spirits down, smiling as he apologized.
"No need to apologize." She said. "I know how you boys like your
fire!" She couldn't help but giggle a bit.
She sighed as the man explained that the next village was 40
miles away. That was a two day trek! Even with her abilities,
since she couldn't fly or teleport. "Aww..." She whined to
herself, before Dante offered to allow her to stay the night at
his place. It was a strange thing to offer to a stranger. For
all he knew, she was some sort of bandit. But she didn't feel
like sleeping on the ground that night, and it already looked
like it might rain. And a shower sounded AMAZING, so she nodded
her head. "Alright, thanks!" she said, following the strange man
to the lake. The water was beautiful. All of nature was! But
that wasn't what she wanted in life. Despite her oddities, Calia
was a city girl. That was something she simply couldn't
change...
