Upon hearing a noise, Hera withdrew a dagger and looked up into
the tree above her to see Kevin sleeping peacefully there. She
smiled, feeling silly for withdrawing a weapon and tapped him
lightly on the shoulder.
"Good morning," she greeted, waiting to see if he would wake.
She didn't care for the man sleeping in a tree. Perhaps, there
was something she could do to change that. If he didn't object,
that is. Really, it was none of her business, but she didn't
like him staying out in the wilderness without any shelter.
Later in the morning, she had a meeting to attend to, but then
after that she would make arrangements and see what he thought
then.

One eye opened under his hood and he moved so it could peer out
the gap between it and the rest of his cloak. He smiled seeing
Hera and sat up slowly drawing his hood back. Though he had
slept outside he was still perfectly groomed, not a hair out of
place.
"Good Morning Princess. I must have slept longer than I
intended."
He slid from the trees branch landing by her side. Giving her a
kind smile, he was delighted that the first person he got to
greet was Hera.
"How was your night? I hope you did not get into trouble with
your father for being absent so long yesterday."

It was amazing to see how well he looked after sleeping in a
tree. Her hair is a mess in the morning after sleeping in a bed,
she could not imagine what it would be like in a tree...
"Actually, it's still pretty early," she said, apologetically.
"I didn't think about the time before I woke you up. Would you
like to sleep a while longer? "
She returned his smile. "My night was uneventful."
Hera glanced away at the mention of her father and did not give
a reply. Instead she idly ran her fingers along the intricate
braids in her hair.
"I have to meet the men in town, would you like to accompany
me?" she asked, looking back to him.

He shook his head lightly at the mention of more sleep.
"Im well rested thank you. You woke me only minuets before I
would have woke on my own."
He frowned a bit as she fell silent at the mention of her father
and looked away. He noted to himself that it may be best to
avoid the subject in the future if at all possible. He nodded as
she asked if he would like to accompany her as she addressed the
men in town.
"It would be my pleasure. I did some thinking last night, if we
are to work together it may be of use for me to find some type
of emplyment in or around the castle. Any ideas on how I may go
about doing so? Or do you think it best we continue to meet in
private?"

She was grateful that he didn't push the subject of her father.
At his suggestion, her head jerked up and humor captivated her
features.
"I think that's a great idea, though it would not be for long.
We are planning to invade tonight," she said, softly.
Hera tried to picture him carrying a tray or scrubbing the
floor, but failed. She laughed and shook her head.
"Anyways, I don't want you in danger," she said, her expression
darkening at the thought. "Let's meet with the guys and see what
they say before making plans."
Hera started to walk to town after making sure that he was
following. As she walked, she fussed over the skirt of her
dress, trying her best to keep it out of the mud. If anyone in
the castle saw how dirty she had gotten while out, they would be
suspicious; well, more so than what they were currently.
"We aren't actually going to attack. Just sneak in and capture
those who are inside," she said, knowing it was unlikely they
would 'capture' anyone.

He followed Hera smirking only slightly as he watched her trying
to keep the skirt of her dress out of the mud. She intended to
set her plan into motion so soon, then he had no need for
employment. He would listen to the plans her conspirators would
lay out and give his advice if needed. She was worried about him
being in dangers way, though he was worried about much the same.
He had a feeling if her plan went sour things would get
complicated quickly. Though her father needed her for his plans
to see furition, he wasent aware if she had any siblings that
could take her place. So it may be very possible that her life
could be in danger.
"Your plan is wise. An outright attack would only take uneeded
lives, sneaking in and capturing the castle silently will save
lives. Plus I Think it safe to assume the royal armies outnumber
the men you have willing to ivertake the castle."

She nodded, silently thinking to herself. They had entered the
village and it no longer was safe to speak. People passed them,
going about their daily business without paying attention to her
abd Kevin. When they has reached the center of town, she entered
a pub. In the tavern were twelve men, including the bartender
who was busy serving everyone drinks. She inclined her head to
one man whose grey hair and wrinkles revealed his age. He smiled
at her, but frowned when he looked at Kevin.
"This is Kevin," she introduced. "He will be helping us."
The man didn't seem pleased with the new addition, but he didn't
object to it either. Now, the other men silently looking at
Kevin and Hera.
"I assume you want to get down to business, then?" the man
asked, sitting down at the bar, leaving a chair open for her to
sit next to him.
She didn't accept the chair, but chose to stay standing by
Kevin. For some reason, she didn't feel right about being here.
Shaking off the feeling, she cleared her throat.
"How many men did you gather?" she asked.
He sighed. "Only a handful more. If we had more time, we may be
able to sway the captain of the guard since the king cut his
pay."
"We can't wait any longer," she said. "Tonight must be the
night."
He nodded. "Then I need to strategize a plan."
Something bothered Hera. She couldn't place it.
"Of course," she said, casually. "After a drink."
She ordered wine from the bartender and took a moment to look
around. No one spoke. Her eyes ran over the room until they
stopped on a door that was cracked open in the back. The toe of
a black boot stuck out under the door.
The bartender sat her glass down in front of her, never making
eye contact with her in the process. She downed it and
hiccupped.
"How long have we known each other, Darin?" she asked, turning
to the man.
He shrugged. "Ten years? Why?"
She shook her head and sighed. "Ten years..."
Silently she glanced at Kevin before withdrawing the blade from
its place on her hip. She aimed it at the man and shook her
head, hoping Kevin caught on to what was happening. All of the
men jumped up from their seats, but didn't move.
"Ten years and you betray me?" she asked.
The man paled. "I don't know what you are talking about."
She nodded. "I have a new plan, how about you capture the
princess and hold her for ransom?"
His eyes widened. "How did you -..."
"Like you said, ten years," she said. "I'm no fool."
All at once, everything exploded into chaos. Men grabbed their
swords and attacked them.

His eyes scanned the room slowly as she spoke to the man behind
the bar. Something wasent right about the situation and he took
a step back so his back was close to hers. A bar of men ready to
plan a cou de ta and not one was speaking to one another. His
ruffeled his shoulders and his cloak fell fully around him. In
addition to the shart swords he had slung over his back he had
man throwing blades concealed on his person. He woprked on
getting more than a few ready to throw if need be. And as soon
as he hear her ask the man how long they had know each other he
knew she had figured out what he had. Something was not right.
His eyes followed hers to a door not to far away, the toe of a
black boot peaking out.
Then the sutuation exploded and men were standing quickly
drawing blades.
His hand flicked out from under his cloak. Throwing knives
burring themselves into men's necks two at a time. Untill six
fell to the floor in no more than an instance, either gasbing
for air or dead from the blade severing spinal cords. He reached
behind his back and with a click unseather his two oddly curved
short swords. The first he sent flying at the door that
undouptfully a man, or several were hiding behind. He hopped the
force would slam the door shut. He sent a throwing knife after
his sword, if the sword struck as planned the knife would burry
into the would above the latch and keep the door from being
opened.
He then raised his other blade defending himself. A watchful eye
on the remaining men around, keeping himself next to Hera to
come to her aid if need be.

There was hatred within his gaze as he glared at Hera from the
tip of her blade. Her hand was trembling, something it had never
done in any fight before. The man had betrayed her, but she
still cared for her friend. Could she really kill him?
She kept an eye on Kevin, but he didn't appear to need any
assistance. In fact, she was rather impressed with how well he
had handled himself in the fight.
"Why?" she asked him, pressing her blade into his skin.
"For the money. There's no way you can pull this off, Hera," he
said, swallowing as his eyes watches her hand.
"Who is behind the door?" she asked him, but he didn't answer.
"I can't trust you. As soon as I let you go, you will go to my
father and tell him everything, won't you."
Fear flashed in his eyes, telling her the truth. Yet, she
couldn't go through with killing him. Instead, she turned the
blade around in her grasp and hit him in the temple with the
opposite ends of the blade. He fell to the floor.
"We need to leave," she said, stating the obvious.
She turned her weapon on one of the remaining men, moving to the
door. Within a minute, he was lying, bleeding at her feet with
one less finger. He was fortunate that was all she cut off. As
soon as she was able to, she ran out with Kevin out into the
streets, alarming those passing by.

He Ran swiftly behind her, pulling his swords from the wood of
the door and seathing them both swiftly. He was on her heels in
only a moment. Throwing blades in his hands under his cloak.
Ready to strike anyone or anything that posed a threat to thw
two of them.
"What now princess. To the castle or out of town? If you can get
me past the guard and can put a swift end to your father. If
thats what youd belive to be best Ill carry out your wish."
He spun quickly as they reached the street to make sure they
were not followed. Either she chose the path ahead would be
tretourouse and he needed to keep a watchful eyes about them.
