"Come now. I can provide you a future that will be beyond your
wildest dreams Amelia." John smiled looking up at the girl from
bended knee. "You will never find one who will do for you what I
can do for you. Just say yes." He held out the ring and stared
       hopefully at her.
"I'm sorry, I don't love you John. I can't.' She turned away as
John stood up. He sighed and tucked the ring back into his
       pocket. "I'm sorry John. I can't be married to a man I don't
       love."
"I have loved you enough for the both of us for years. You will
say yes to me some day." He grabbed her arm. "I promise you
       that."
"Actually, no, you won't be able to keep that promise John."
Amelia turned toward the new voice.
"Ashley. Hello." She pulled her arm from John's grip."I'll just
       be going now."
"Actually you're wrong. You aren't going anywhere." Ashley
flicked her wrist and John fell to the floor."He's only
sleeping." She took a few steps towards Amelia."But I'm afraid
your fate will be much worse. You will pay for this. John was
meant to be my husband. You were an annoyance when he first
began ignoring me for you and now he's gone and proposed."
"Ashley, I don't-" Amelia's hands went to her throat and began
to pry at it as if there were hands at it. Ashley snapped her
fingers. Amelia could suddenly breath again.
"I'm speaking dear. Don't interrupt. You keep toying with him,
acting as if you're not interested. BUT I CAN SEE THROUGH THAT
FALSE IMAGE YOU PORTRAY!" She cleared her throat and smoothed
her coat."But, I have a plan. If you're not here, then John wont
love you. And he will finally see me! Your fate will be that you
will become such a monster that no one will ever love you again.
I'm going to make you into something that hasn't been seen for
many years." Ashley pulled a small vial out of her bosom and
threw it at Amelia, smoke rising up around her feet. Then all
went black. The last thing she heard was Ashley's laughed and a
warning. "Don't bother trying to come back. I'll kill you if you
       do."
When Amelia woke up she had a splitting head ache. She sat up
and looked around. Everything looked different. Her senses
heightened. She put her had to her head, but what she felt was
not her hair or her skin. It was scales. She looked at her hand.
It was massive and black and not a hand at all. sharp claws
extending from it."What am I?" She cried, her voice not sounding
at all like her own or like anything she had ever heard. She
looked at the rest of her body. Realization spreading through
her mind. Ashley had turned her into a dragon. Something that
they hadn't seen for many years where she had come from. She was
a dragon. She let out a scream that burst from within her
       sounding more like a roar.

Today was the day, a free day persay weeks had passed since he
had been in the battle at the gates of hell and retrieving Razor
from his prison. It had been a fun and well fought battle but JD
now hoped he never had to return to the inside of those onyx
gates. A flap of his wings carried him along the sky, the wind
dancing beneath each of the scales of his wings, the crimson
color of them glowing brightly in the afternoon sun. He roared
in appreciation as each of the wings glided through the clouds,
this was one of the best parts of being a dragon was the ability
to fly and soar through the air the ability to roar and have the
freedom that only birds normally have. He raised his head to the
sky and parted his lips open his mighty fangs gleaming in the
sun, he breathed upward releasing a large outburst of fire proud
of his freedom. Soon though he descended down towards the
clearing, a clearing and place he had not been since he had
brought the last village leader, Echo to train.
He laid his wings against his back and dropped as if dive
bombing to the ground, his eyes had slipped closed his body
falling through the air like a comet. Fire surrounded his body,
this made him feel free the smirk crossing his mighty jaw as the
ground came closer and closer into view. Soon he crashed into
the ground spitting dust and debris into the air. He chuckled
beneath the dust cloud as it fell, revealing the form of a human
that stood roughly eight feet tall with a large sword on his
back. His long black hair came down to cover the right side of
his face allowing only the slight golden tint of his eye to be
seen. His left eye was a deep dark swirling sapphire color, that
was fun to him. Slowly he approached the bank of the river that
sat close by and dipped his hands in allowing the water to wash
the blood from his hands. He always injured himself doing that
maneuver a chuckle passed his lips and he enjoyed his alone
time, but of course nothing last forever.
A roar echoed through the forest rising into the sky, above the
trees.....the birds fluttered out of the trees frightened
knowing that one of the predators of the jungle had awoken...but
he knew that sound anywhere. It was a distressed dragon, angry
or sad he couldn't tell but either way he had to find out. His
eyes closed at that moment as another roar leaked out from the
distressed dragon and he pinpointed where the sound came from.
He smirked more to himself than anything as the sky around
darkened the gray clouds rolling seemingly out of nowhere,
lightning coursed through the clouds dancing through them all
the way to the cloud that stood over JD. The cloud spit the
lightning out in one mighty bolt striking from the sky right
into JD, the bolt seemed to scoop him up and carry him through
the sky spitting him out infront of the large black dragon.
He eyed the mighty creature for a moment, trying to get anything
on why it was so distressed but she was hard to read. He knew
not why she seemed distressed or why she roared, his eyes met
hers and stuck with them, even from her heightened position she
could see the dragon that he was swirling in his eyes in the
form that he was in. Slowly he walked forward, his hands
remaining at his side but his eyes sticking with hers. His voice
finally would echo specifically towards her mind, since he was
sure without her being part of his family she couldnt speak out
loud as a dragon without the use of magic.
"Dragon what distresses you, maybe I can help cure the problem."

The dragon approached her. She had seen him coming. Some how.
Even before he was there, something inside her as she roared
told her someone would be visiting her soon. She had cried out
to stay away from her. But it didn't work. The stranger still
came. When she realized he was a dragon, she shook her large
head in disbelief. Dragons were long gone. Yet here, coming
toward her was another. He was far larger than she was. How many
more existed? He spoke into her mind. His words echoing across
her mind. He wanted to know what was wrong. She swung her head
toward him, lips curling up as she snarled. "Don't call me
dragon and stay away from me."
She lifted her claw to her mouth. She wasn't speaking words but
making a jumble of growls and cries. She turned away from him
and stomped away a few steps before laying down with her back to
him. Her tail curling up beside her. He spoke to her in her mind
as if through though. She couldn't even summon up a few little
words. Through thoughts. She lifted her head. "Excuse me. Can
you hear me?" She thought the words in the direction of the
dragon who came to her. "Someone has made me this way. I am not
a dragon. I am a human. I can never return to the human world
though. I don't think you can help me." She wanted to cry. But
no tears came. "I've never felt so alone in the world."

The dragon tried to intimidate him, her lips curled in an
intimidating snarl her fangs showing as if to order him to do
something and right now she probably could tear a good chunk out
of him. He stopped moving when her golden eyes were placed on
him, when those words left her mind shouting not to call her a
dragon, but what was he to call her she had not given him a
name, either way he shifted his position so he was standing
there listening as her voice proceeded outwards towards him, the
creatures around of course couldn't hear the story as she told
it about somebody cursing her with the form of the most
dangerous predator to the world. The comment that he couldn't
help her should have turned him away immediately but instead a
sigh danced through his lips and his hands slipped into the
pockets of his cloak. He looked to the sky, overhead the clouds
began to darken once again and he knew how bad that was
especially if she was telling the truth. His voice projected to
her once again, his eyes slipping closed and his body relaxing
now that the tention had stopped.
"To the contrary girl, I can help you but for it to work I need
for you to come with me away from here. If what you say is true,
I can not end that curse but I can turn it into a blessing and
then teach you to master the power that you will always have.
Now I need you to come with me before this storm starts, if you
are not a true dragon this storm will take you into its embrace
       and crush you."
He watched the dragon, the clouds going from a dingy gray slowly
to a dark onyx black color and crimson color started dancing
through the fluffy fabric painting the sky in a brilliant array
of black and red. He knew what was coming and off in the
distance he could see it, the mountains trembled and shook, with
the force of the earth. He could feel the fire as it danced
through the earth, it had awakened a long sleeping spirit that
was not to be awakened. The top of the mountain exploded outward
and lava began to pour from the top, lightning coursing through
the sky itself. The girl didn't have much more time to take his
offer, he offered his hand forward waiting for her to accept his
offer. He was too nice in these situations and one day it could
get him killed or worse. Either way his voice projected towards
her one more time, this time it was firm and commanding.
"Its now or never come with me, or no all I need yes or no?"

The other dragon seemed to completely not notice her snarl. She
didn't exactly know what she was doing, but he seemed to
understand her and that was a bit of a start. She could learn
yet how to be the dragon that she was cursed to be. She stood on
shaky legs and turned to him. 'I have no choice but to go with
you. I have no wish to die." She responded. But in truth she
wanted to learn. Wanted him to train her to be the mighty dragon
she could be. She was stuck this way. Something deep inside her
told her that. She would never be merely a human again. Memories
of her life passed through her mind. She had never really fit in
among the humans. Maybe this was her new destiny.
"I can't fly." She told him in her mind. "I know I have these
wings, but I don't know how. I know nothing of being a dragon.
It was not a subject many touched on where I come from." The
       clouds where becoming strange colors.
"Now or never." His words seemed to hang like their own dark
cloud. She closed her own eyes and extended one of her claws
forward. "If I go with you, I need your help. I don't know
anything about being a dragon. But I don't want to be crushed by
a storm. I've already had one hell of a day. Dying isn't on my
list of things to do today." She didn't know if she could trust
this dragon. But for the moment, She had no choice. The ominous
clouds were looming in and she could tell that her fate would be
sealed if she stayed a moment longer.

She extended her claw and it was in good time, he reached his
hand forward and took the mighty claw. The area around them
changed, the trees fading rapidly the storm seeming to just
disappear all together, before long the world around them would
look black as if the entirety of the world had just faded in
that one instance leaving them wandering in the mass expanse of
space. The blackness would last for maybe minutes before the
portal itself would open around them, a deep sapphire blue light
would encompass the both of them and the world would return to
around them. When the light faded the dragon would be returned
to a human shape of what she looked like before, her dragon body
gone but lingering as a spirit inside of her. He merely turned
and began walking not saying anything but hoping she knew to
follow. If she did they would walk for what seemed like hours
through each of the winding dark tunnels, until finally they
came to a large stone door. He reached forth and placed his
hands on the door, he pushed against it roughly and slowly the
       door slipped open.
Behind the door was a thiefs fantasy, there were stacks of
treasure stacked all the way to the ceiling. Finally he stopped
and turned to face her...his eyes were now both golden with
gthose draconic slit in them, he raised his hand up and brought
it down and the treasure faded emptying out the larger room and
leaving it bare except for six large pillars that rose to the
ceiling. He turned around again and walked to one side of the
room enough so she could still hear him and could see him. He
sighed lightly and spoke from this point his words echoing over
the room. "I have given you the ability to change from a dragon
to a human and vice-versa but it is completely useless to you if
you dont understand understand how to shift. So thats where we
will start. When you wanna shift into your dragon form you must
focus on every aspect of the form from the tip of your snout to
the very end of your tail."
As he finished speaking his form began to take place, his body
grew to almost a few stories high, his hands and feet changing
to paws so big with mighty claws outward extending pointing
directly towards the woman that stood on the otherside of the
room. His head grew outward extending to a snout, his long black
hair fading and turning into giant horns, his crimson red wings
extended further out becoming mighty, with one flap of the giant
objects a mighty wind flew in, dust a dirt kicked up everywhere
as the final few changes began to take effect, his mighty jaw
extended apart, razor sharp teeth carved to perfection lay
inside pearly white fangs with blood dripping down, the scales
the last thing to take effect the crimson red objects placed
perfectly into place each one next to the next never moving. He
looked down at the girl from his draconian form and smoke his
       jaw actually moving.
"Now you give it a try"

Darkness surrounded her. She couldn't even see her new
companion. If she knew how to breath fire she would, just to see
where she was. It was odd, not knowing anything. Where she was
going, how she was going to live. Not even knowing how to be the
creature that she was cursed to be. She saw light soon. It was
an amazingly beautiful blue color. When they were back on solid
ground she and him were the same size. she stared directly into
his face. She gasped and looked at herself. She was returned to
her former shape. "How..." She started to ask him how he did it,
but he was already walking away. Down a tunnel. She hurried
after him, needing answers. He didn't seem to want to talk
though. They just walked. And walked. Then just for a little
change of pace they walked some more. Eventually they came to a
large stone door. It looked tall enough for well a dragon to fit
through. She realized that that was probably just the purpose of
       the size of the door.
The room they entered was filled with all sorts of treasures.
This dragon was rich? How interesting. When he turned to face
her, his eyes had changed. In the light he was kind of handsome.
She barely noticed the treasures fading. She smiled. He
explained that he gave her the ability to switch back and forth
between human and dragon. Then went on to explain how to do it
and also changed himself. To her it was like he explained it in
a foreign language. And his size? It had to be larger than her
own dragon form. Then he ordered her to try it. She closed her
eyes and tried to do exactly as he explained. She thought of the
form. The dragon. Pain seared through her. It felt as though her
skin was ripping and bones cracking. She fell to the ground,
breathing hard. When she opened her eyes and looked down at
herself her body was an odd mixture of scales and skin, her legs
had started to change form and her tail had started to grow. Her
fingers were turning into claws. She slammed her palm against
the ground frustrated. "What happened? What did I do wrong?"

He breathed a light sigh even as his dragon form faded and he
returned to his normal human form, he took a few steps across
the room and knelt down at her side. He raised his hand up and
drove it over her body making sure not to touch her, the scales
faded as did the tail. He rested his hand back at his side,
rising from his kneeled position. He turned away from the girl
and walked back to where he was before, he stopped and breathed
a light sigh. He hadn't taught anyone who wasnt a dragon already
in a long time, so this was a little bit harder he would have to
teach her the basics...how he had learned it for himself. He
shifted his hands up again, this time the room seemed to change
completely and instead of in a large treasure vault they now sat
in a dojo like room with mats on the sides where they both were.
He had taken a seated position and stared across at her his lips
       parting as he spoke again.
"Rise and sit upon the mat, there is so much for a human to
learn that will allow a dragon to become part of you. The first
thing you must master is your own pain, and the tolerance for
it. The form of a dragon is unforgiving and it tears up the
human body. You are nothing more than a wolf in a sheeps
clothing. If you cant take the pain of the wolf freeing itself
you will hold it back. Here pain is all around us...physical,
mental and spiritual pain lies here. You will see things here
that you open. If it affects you mentally you and I will see it,
if it affects you spiritually you and I will see it, and if it
affects you physically we both will see it. I will take the
first task at this, everybody handles pain in their own way that
is the only way to solve this problem."
The room around them would begin spinning at this point, or seem
as such but the two of them would remain in the same position as
they were in unmoving, untouched by whatever effect was going on
here. The room finally stopped shifting, and around them like a
movie a scene played out, a young boy not older than five or six
was pushing two children inside of a closet. Even then he had
the long black locks of hair, but his eyes both of them were a
deep sapphire color and his voice sounded like a small childs.
"Adrani, Kait stay here and don't leave until me and Akeria
return...ok" He shut the door at that point and he ran through
the open front door out into the burning village, fire around
him scared him even then but that wasn't his worry. None of the
other villagers that were his friends, none of the families all
he cared about was..."mom, mom" his voice shouted over the
screams of the injured and the dying, the barbarians that
ravaged through their lands. All that stopped as he rounded the
corner and saw his mother on the cold hard ground.
As he approached her the smaller boy seemed to grow becoming the
man that he was today, he knelt down beside her and lifted her
head from the ground and into his lap. "Mother, mother." His
mother had only smiled and raised her hand to his cheek
caressing her fingers across it as she always had when he was
little and only a small phrase left her lifts enough to lift all
the pain from this memory. "Its not your fault JD.." Just like
that the image faded, his face was covered in a warm sweat, his
eyes were closed but he didn't seem the least bit strained at
all. Finally his eyes opened the golden tint still dancing in
them but whatever he was trying to do had suceeded for on his
right hand his claws extended forth, curved to exact perfect
there texture and look of that of ivory. He nodded towards the
girl with a slight breath, before speaking his words like that
       of an instructor.
"It is the act of actually finding something in the memory to
take the pain away, that could be as simple as someone saying I
love you in a dark place. A child clinging on to you as you
protect it from monsters, or even something as simple as a smile
on a loved ones face as they are pulled from your grasp. We will
let you try this exercise before we take a break for both of the
exercises you have been through will have drained most of your
energy. So whenever you are ready close your eyes and focus let
       the room do the rest."

She felt exhausted. much more tired than she thought she would
be. She felt starved too. His shifting her form back to what it
was did not raise her spirits. It was as if he didn't even have
to try at all. When he finished she sat up and rested her arms
on her knees and her chin on her arms. She sighed as the room
changed. It didn't surprise her. But the dojo style room that it
transformed too was very comforting. Compared to all that had
happened today. He seated himself across from her. She couldn't
help but notice the delicious looking curve of his lips as they
parted. He probably had a wonderful smile. Vaguely she wondered
what they tasted like. She bit back a chuckle as she tried to
       ignore the thought.
She did as he instructed and sat on the mat. Then got
comfortable and listened to him speak, explaining exactly why
she wasn't able to turn. So she would have to accept herself as
the dragon she was. She sighed. It wasn't as if she had much of
a life before anyway. Maybe this was her destiny all along. She
didn't have her family anymore. It was just her. Something about
his voice, even though stern was calming. She almost felt as if
she could do just these things that he told her she could do.
She also felt something else. Something she hadn't felt in a
long time. It was an odd sensation to feel after going so long
with out feeling it. She felt safe.
But alas, it wouldn't last long. The room began to spin, she was
startled at first and thrown back on guard. Yet she wasn't
spinning only the room. When it finally came to a halt she saw a
new scene all around them. It was as if she was viewing a movie,
from inside it. Astral projection almost. She watched the scene
that almost brought her to tears. So much pain was in that one
memory, then at the end, a small glimmer of hope. She sighed
with relief watching it. She looked to him. He looked a lot like
the boy in the images she just watched. Was he, JD? She hadn't
noticed before that he was sweating slightly. Even though he
looked as if he were not affected by what he just did, she could
some how tell that he was.
His eyes opened. They were the same beautiful gold tint that she
had been calmed by before. He explained what was that he just
did, and told her how to project her own memories. With the
promise of a break she was filled with new energy. The will to
push forward from where she had previously thought she was not
able to move from. She closed her eyes, searching through her
memories for the right one. She viewed the memory from within
her mind, hoping it was projected into the room.
"Sissy!" Benjamin cried out in the middle of the night. His
coughing causing a sweat to form upon his forehead. Amelia, 9 at
the time crawled out of her bed and across the room to her 4
year old brothers bed and crawled in with him, holding and
rocking him gently. "It's worse sissy! I'm bad sick." Amelia bit
her lip knowing it would only get worse. Momentarily the memory
       changed.
"We don't know what causes it. Some people get it and some
people don't. But you need to keep your son away from others, he
may cause other people to get it, though the girl, already
exposed may not have a chance other than to get it. Like I said,
this is new to us. Only having had cases pop up in the last
couple years." Amelia watched through a crack in a door as a
doctor explained it to her mother.
The memory changed back to her brother curled up to her in the
bed. "I think I'm going to die sissy."
"No you're not!' She smiled and used the blanket to dab away
some sweat from his head. Then the image began to blur, the
voice of his brother saying "Sissy, I love you." Echoing over
and over, then a funeral, for her brother. Then a funeral for
her mother. Then her father showing up from a war, then being
told by a doctor that the infection from his injury getting out
of hand. She tried to draw the memory of her brother back, but
it all went black, when opened her eyes she was looking up at
       the ceiling and panting.
