       Dragon Slayers
       By: guest1220 Date: November 28, 2014, 2:45 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The whole traveling between realms thing was easy but it never
stopped being frightening. It was insanely dark, so dark that
she could hardly see two feet in front of her. The terrain was
jagged with rocks but it was softened by a blanket of newly
fallen snow. Trees caused her to dodge and created confusion in
terms of keeping track of which direction she was going.
South? East? She had no idea, the only thing she was focused on
       was finding the slayers.
Winter knew how ignorant she was being but she had to do
something to help the people involved and stop them from finding
her family. What if dad got hurt again or his family? She had to
keep her father from experiencing that pain again. Although, she
had no idea how she was going to stop the group.
Seeing a flicker of light, she sped up and jogged towards it.
Soon, she stumbled upon a clearing where a large group of people
       had set up camp.
From having trained with her dad, she knew how to walk so to not
alarm what or who you were sneaking up on. As she grew nearer,
she saw men gathered around a fire talking in obnoxious drunken
conversations. Weapons lay at their feet, some of which were
       still bloody from battle. And then she saw something horrendous;
       a dragon's head on a stick.
She swallowed back bile and tried to keep from vomiting. This
hadn't been a good idea, not at all! She had to leave before she
       was discovered.
Winter turned to leave when she tripped on a tree root. Leaves
crumbled and twigs broke but hopefully of they had heard
anything, they would think it was a large animal of some sort.
Winter then ducked behind the brush and looked back towards the
group, not knowing if they had heard or not.

There was one man that stuck out amount the rest of these
mercenaries; sitting far from the others surrounding the fire on
a large rock. He silently knelt his head down as he held an
enormous blade stabbed into the ground. The armored man held a
stone tightly within his grip; grinding it down the side of the
blade. A quiet screech escaping from the sharpening metal. He
appeared to have no interest in the petty mercenaries drunken
affairs as he focused only on sharpening his blade. Absorbing
       his environment.
He knew something was amiss. A young girl slipping past the
drunken fools. For them it was easy to miss, but, he was waiting
for this. He had heard the girl from much further. The crunch of
the snow gave her away a long time ago.
Though, he cared not for this girl's disposition. What she was
here for. Whether she was alive or dead. Really it made no
difference. His orders were strict and clear. He knew the
consequences for disobeying direct orders and it wasn't
pleasant. But, that aside, he wasn't doing this for the orders
only. These drunken buffoons, driven only by money, deserved to
       face their demise. Filthy scum.
With those thoughts in mind he slowly stood up from the large
rock; making his way to the fire they all gather upon. Each slow
step forcing the massive blade to drag through the dirt and snow
with ease. Though once he got there he stopped in the gap of
their circle. "Well, are we having fun?" With that he swung the
       massive blade up and stabbed in into the closest man's foot;
chopping it clean in half. "Well I want some fun too!" Though,
before they even had a chance to scream his free hand flung back
and pulled a katana from one of the four sheaths around his
waste; a mass of gas shooting out from just a portion of the
exposed blade. Immediately blowing up the entire encampment
around them and obviously roasting all of the men before they
       had time to blink.
"Oh god I love the smell of barbeque in the mornin'!" With that
a long sigh was heard as the snow beneath him gathered together
in front of him into a thick pillar. Breaking off to show a man
in black robes and a massive white cross on the back of the
robe. "Must you be so reckless...? You were told to kill them...
Not fry them." The armored man let out a huff as he looked away
from the man in the robe. "That's why he sent me to do the
job... Right." The man in the robe immediately letting out a
chuckle. "And he sent me to watch over you so you don't get
carried away." The armored man looked to the robed man out of
the corner of his eye as he nudged towards a bush. "Well just be
glad I restrained myself. Apparently I wasn't informed we were
going to have company." The robed man looked over towards the
bush with curiousity. "Oh?" That stood there; waiting to see how
       this would unfold.

He rubbed the bridge of his nose the red of his hair falling
down around his face hiding everything from sight as he rose
from his bed side. The woman in his bed rolled over, her eyes
still shut as she pulled the blanket further over her body, the
sounds of the drunken mercenaries outside were enough to cause
his head to pound. He knew though it would only be a matter of
seconds before they were dealt with their drunken stupor ended
with their life. Seconds turned into minutes and soon one by one
their annoying voices faded leaving the encampment in peace. He
reached down and pulled mask off the table and placed it over
his face his head turning towards the girl. His eyes rested on
her for a moment before he spoke his voice commanding and
       holding a sense of authority.
"Get dressed Vera and meet us outside."
With that he pushed the flap of the tent aside and stepped out,
the sun beat down upon the silver armor that he wore the yellow
light gleaming off the polished armor and into the crimson red
blood that danced around the floor of the clearing. He turned
his eyes to that of the assassin who had accomplished his job
accordingly and merely nodded, he then shifted his gaze to the
robed man and gave him a nod as well. He breathed in the smell
of the burning flesh using it to remember that night so long
ago. Hatred ran through his veins even for the quickest of
moments as he smelled their flesh. He looked towards the robed
man and spoke, his words commanding once again even to him.
"Remove them before they stink up our tents, thats just what we
need leave them for the animals or something I don't care as
long as they were away from here."
With that the woman exited his tent, she wore a dark emerald
green cloak with a bow strapped across her shoulder. Her eyes
shifted around the group that had now gathered before finally
falling on the leader she took a light bow nodding her head in
the direction of the bush. She slowly stalked over that way
making no sound as she finally stopped knocking an arrow back in
the bow and pointing it downwards at the girls head finally her
lips parted and she spoke if anybody heard her speak they would
have thought she was a guy the way the magic disguised her
       voice.
"You will not move girl or I will put this arrow through your
       sk..."
She didn't get to finish nor would she as he bound over, the
mans silver plated glove reaching down and grasping in the
strands of Winters hair pulling her from behind the bush from
her hair dragging her along the snow-filled ground, and to the
middle of the encampment before he tossed her to the ground
forcefully. His deep sapphire eyes matched those of JD's but
held more rage more hatred, he rose his halberd up and went to
bring it down to cleave the girl in half, but he stopped bending
down so he stared her face-to-face. He looked at her for only a
few moments before he burst out in a hysterical laughter.
"You are the child of a Draconian family member arent you? I
know because on your shirt you have a small bit of the blood of
that dragon that attacked us earlier the one we thought we
killed or at least left for dead."
He stood to his feet and looked down at her a small almost
devilish smirk appearing on his lips, he went to say something
else was going to speak and then that disasterous taste was in
his mouth. Then he heard the words that he hoped he would never
hear again, the draconian he had left for dead. Damn him ruining
       my fun, again and again.
'Just give me the girl and we can all walk away from here'

Her heartbeat skipped as things slowly unfolded into horrific
chaos. The entire group of men had been scorched alive, leaving
nothing but black corpses behind. She watched through the holes
within the bush as the responsible for the deaths conversed with
another. It wasn't long before another man and a woman came into
view. They vanished from her sight though leaving her to believe
that she still had a chance to escape. Before she could turn to
leave, a voice startled her and froze her in place. Someone
interrupted her sentence and she felt a viscous pull of her
       hair.
Without gentleness, a man threw her out into the open, leaving
her at the mercy of the others. The girl stood with her spine
straight and her shoulders squared. There was a path within the
snow where he had drug her out and there was still snow on her
       jeans because of it.
Before he could try to kill her, he figured out where she was
from. Hearing him speak of her uncle angered her but all she did
was glare. If he wanted to see a reaction, he would have to try
       harder than that.
"He isn't dead," she replied, her gaze unwavering. "But that's
not hard to believe. When he had spoken of the slayers, I didn't
picture a pathetic group of cowards."
Winter was not being stupid. She was going to die anyway,
something she couldn't stop to think about. And it was better to
       die than be tortured.
Also, if she could make him angry, he was more likely to act off
of emotion, thus granting her a better chance to deceive him and
       escape.
As she waited on his response, she glanced around, taking note
of the different assortment of weapons and murders. Her head was
pounding but she couldn't tell if it was because of him pulling
it or the adrenaline pumping through her veins.
The attire she wore hugged her body so she could move easily if
needed to. She couldn't help but compare her stature to the man
before her. There was little to no hope for her. It left her to
wonder if her father or mother would come to find her. Maybe,
they didn't know where she was but if they did, would they? She
had already been rebellious earlier that night. Perhaps, they
thought it would teach her a lesson. But was death really an
acceptable punishment for what she had done? Winter was simply
trying to protect those she loved.
The thought brought to mind the necklace around her neck that
her grandmother had given her. She had promised that if she
called on her, she would hear her and come to her aid. But
Winter couldn't risk her life. Still, she longed for her
       presence.

Where he appeared next would cause his own mind to fall into a
deep thought, the slayers he could sense them just beyon the
trees. He stepped forward and into the clearing his eyes
bouncing back and forth between the four slayers and finally to
the 'prize' they held on the ground, his eyes widened and he
stepped forward just as the armored man rose from his kneeled
position staring down at Winter. Finally he stopped and his lips
parted a deep commanding voice left it, more to the armored man
than anything his eyes flashed to a complete golden color as he
spoke his words laced with venom. "Just give me the girl and we
can all go our own way how does that sound"

Before even the woman had emerged from her tent all of the
bodies of the fallen were tangled in roots that grew up from
deep underground. Dragging the fried corpses down as the robed
man watched the bodies sink with a calming sigh; speaking in a
soft tone. "Be safe on your journey... Wherever that may
lead..." With that said and the bodies gone he had closed the
bible he had held in his hand by the spine. Putting it behind
his back as he stayed quiet; patiently awaiting orders.
The entire time the assassin watched this with an irritated
scoff; turning his attention to the leader and the young girl. A
smirk crossing over his lips under the thick helmet as he
watched their leader toy with the young girl. It was so easy to
instill fear into the young. They truly were innocent, but, that
did not mean they were out of their grasp. Death was a curse
meant for the innocent and the corrupt. So it mattered not which
       side he chose.
Though, soon the assassins and the robed man's attention were
caught off guard by a single man making his presence known by
addressing their "leader." A laugh immediately escaping his lips
as he grabbed the hilt of the massive blade. Pulling it from the
freezing cold dirt and recklessly throwing the blade towards the
man; flying past his head close enough that it blew back at the
side of the man's hair. The sword stabbing the entire massive
blade through a tree behind him.
With that the armored assassin let out another laugh; putting
his hands up into the hair in a shrug like gesture as he
approached the strange man. "Oh, come on, now! You can't take
all of the fun out of it! With a guy like you I'm sure we can
get a real nice party started!" With his words now done the
robed man mumbled under his breath just loud enough for the
assassin to hear. "You arrogant bastard... You are going to get
yourself killed... You couldn't even hit him with your sword."
       With that the assassin quickly turned to face his comrad;
immediately pulling off his helmet to show the large smirk on
his face. His white hair hanging down over the thick strand of
fabric that covered his left eye. "Oh come now, Father! You have
that little faith in me?" Though, it was obvious it was not his
true intent. Turning his back on enemy and stripping off a piece
of his armor just to edge on the guest; his right eye focused in
       the corner. Anticipating the attack.

       Dragonslayer Leader
He sighed watching the despicable girl on the ground call
obscenities at him, maybe he should just kill her, rip her
pretty little head off maybe then she would know respect for her
elders. He turned at that point to face the dragon before him,
he was hoping that he had died the poison of the halberd would
rip him from the inside out but no he just had to survive the
process. He stepped back and with him the woman the bow followed
staying in tow, he stopped roughly five feet to the side of the
assassin a small smile crossing his lips beneath the mask. There
was no sound as he waited for the time to pass for the fight to
start, the assassin was the first to strike tossing the
enlongated blade at the dragon. The blade flew through the air
with such force it split the tree behind the dragon in half...of
course the dragon didn't flinch merely still stared at him with
a certain resolve in his face. He turned his attention towards
Vera at that point and spoke just as coldly as before.
       "Kill her"
       Vera
The words were swift and cold, the orders to execute the smaller
girl before her, it was either that or face his wrath later. She
pulled bow an arrow in between the string and the wood, her eyes
focused down on the white-haired girl. She didn't say anything
as the arrow left the bow aiming for Winters skull. Instead
though, it stopped off to the side of her face scratching along
her cheek enough to leave a scratch along her cheek as the arrow
buried itself into the ground. Around Winter their was an orb,
the orb was clear to the mortal eye and thus they couldnt see
it. She raised her bow and pointed it at the dragon man waiting
for the order to fire, she turned towards the masked leader and
watched as his head nodded signifying she could fire she dropped
down to one knee and aimed squarely between JD's eyes and fired.
The arrow left the bow with such force that it pushed her back
to the ground it was going to be a swift kill.
       JD
He had waited long enough to hear the words from this leader,
waited for him to accept his deal or not. When the sword flew
past him he didn't even flinch nor did he let his body even turn
in any way to dodge the blade he merely kept his gaze on the
leader. When he ordered the execution of Winter he knew the
answer, and he had to act fast the woman had pulled an arrow
back in her bow and fired aming to take Winters head off. Of
course though his own defensive barrier surrounded her couting
her body in a bubble of sapphire blue lightning that only she
would be able to see, and that of course was his last straw he
took a step forward watching as the woman prepared her arrow and
fired it aiming for his face. That sickening smirk on her lips
was enough for his anger to boil over. He stepped forth just as
the shot left her arrow and slid along the ground towards him, a
slight smirk crossed his lips beneath the black strands of his
hair. He raised his hand up in such a fashion that the arrow
reflected off of his scales and into the tree off tto the left
of the assassin and the priest.
"This is for injuring my niece"
When the words left his lips the tree exploded outward lightning
like a tesla coil extended forth electrifying all of the pieces
as they left the tree covering where the four people stood in
dust and debris. He took that time to shift his body forward
scooping Winter up in his arm and holding her to his chest, the
barrier that was just around her encircled them both just as the
leader brought his halberd downwards from above them cleaving
straight through the barrier and deep into his chest,he shifted
Winter enough that when the blade came out it only grazed her
side cutting into her shirt and along her skin. They were gone
at that point, the barrier encompassing him and winter returning
them to the den that they had left.

       The assassin let out a chuckle as his attack was ignored;
shrugging his shoulders as he turned back to face the dragon.
Calmly walking back towards the beast as it had sent the attack
towards the large tree next to him and the Father. The assassin
not stopping as the electrically charged debre blew up from
behind him; only a smirk crossing his face. Immediately; his
hand reached back to grab onto the hydrogen blessed blade as he
was about to pull it out. Only for the Father to quickly run and
grab the assassin's hand; letting out an annoyed huff as a
barrier of ice launched up around the two of them. "Are you an
idiot, Eriks!? You and the leader would have been fine, but, do
you want to blow the rest of us up!?"
The assassin quickly let out a laugh as he released his blade
and reached for the blade of vibrations. Immediately he swung
his body around in a circle; flames pouring from the blade as
they melted the ice with ease. The Father quickly covering all
exposed skin as to not get burned by the scorching flames made
from the blade. Though, with the steam clouding around them from
the melting and evaporation of the ice the assassin let out an
angered groan. "Do not forget, Father. I may work with you's,
but, we are neither family nor friend. I am here for my own
reasons. I care not for yours."
The assassin let out a calmed huff as the cloud of steam
cleared; revealing that the beast and the young girl had fled. A
slight laugh escaping his lips. "Cowards..." With that he cared
not for the drama that would follow. Slowly sheathing his blade
once more as he walked over back to his buster blade stuck deep
into the tree. Grabbing onto the hilt as he pulled it out with
ease. Slamming the blade into the ground as he leaned onto the
hilt; looking to the leader. "Well? I'm bored." He had a
disgusting smirk on his lips; bloodthirsty.

A land of ravaged corpses, black flames and distant screams were
all one could hope to see within these lands. The desire to see
anything else would often lead to disappointment and regret. A
simple part of reality that many had yet to grasp during this
grand war. The gods had started to fight between themselves.
Realms of all sorts had been dragged into the war against their
will and many died for no reason. Yet these eyes that looked
across the land would get to see another day, they would see the
birth of the next generation. As they rose to the sky their god
looked back, his hand reached out and his mouth began to open.
Visions became blurred, sounds distorted, the feeling of
something falling upon his body… It was time.
A soft groan left his lips as his eyes began to open. His sleep
ruined due to the noise around him and the falling twigs and
leaves upon his head. As he looked up he saw the large cut
within the tree and beside him he could see a man clad in iron.
“Does everyone insist on waking me before I may hear words from
our true lord and saviour?” He huffed softly before standing too
his feet and looking around at what was recently an area of war.
Burned black bodies, carved trees and puddles of water from
recently melted ice, it was as if he had simply gone back in
time to see the signs of war that made weaker men turn and head
back to their families. Though for him this was nothing but a
morning prayer, and he had yet to speak to his fellow disciples.
“I suppose we had visitors while I was resting?”.
He picked up his bag and tome and looked at his companions. “I
suppose it’s also safe to assume one of us made a rash move and
gave them a chance to escape?” Sighing he looked towards the
leader of this group. “Was our guest a being of ice? Or does my
       journey continue?”

       Gareth, Dragonslayer Leader
He spun his halberd flicking the beasts blood to the ground as
they faded disappearing in that lightning. Great. They escaped
again with their lives that would be the last time he let that
happen, he rotated around just as the smoke faded to see Erik
putting that blade that he had crafted away, and the priest
scolding him....well their moral priest. His eyes shifted around
searching for the last of their group only to have him emerge
from the forest where he had been praying to his god, or
sleeping if thats what they called it now-a-days. He turned
towards the father as he spoke asking questions that he
shouldn't have been, but for now the man was needed so he
wouldn't make any comment. He just breathed a light sigh as the
Father spoke finally he answered his questions one at a time.
"They escaped because I allowed it, we will find them and make
them suffer...but no neither one of them used ice but the dragon
we fought used Fire and Lightning...so for now your journey
continues but I know for a fact one of the family we hunt uses
       Ice."
He turned around his metal boots clanging along the ground as he
did so, he stopped at the flap of his tent and muttered under
his breath a few things. The tent disappeared, appearing in the
pack that was on his back, he growled slightly before speaking
only lightly so the group could hear them. "From here we move on
out we move onto the draconian homelands tomorrow start killing
any of the civilians the dragons that seek to stand in our way.
I hear the woman Akeria, is at home right now and I say we pay
her a little visit and remove her from the equation maybe bring
the brothers to come flying to her aid or maybe not." With that
he turned to walk away towards the mountains that were in the
distance. Vera merely followed quietly behind him not saying
       anything as they moved.
