       Outside the box

       Think about all of the characters you've played in the past.
       What characteristics do they share? Are they all polite? Power
       hungry? Were they all the same gender? Sexual Orientation?
       What parts of you always become a part of your characters? Your
       mannerisms? Nervous ticks? Priorities?
       Your challenge here is to make a brand new character, who
       carries as few of those traits as possible! To the greatest of
       your ability, create a character that's the opposite of you and
       your "norm" Play outside of your comfort zone! Play a character
       of the opposite gender! Or maybe that's attracted to different
       things than you! Are your characters always centuries old, but
       in the body of a 21 year old sex God? Play a REAL old person!
       Make a character that loves the things you hate and vice versa!
       And then PLAY that character! Stay true to that character,
       without reverting them back to fit your norm.
       First, I want you to reflect on your characters, and let us know
       what similarities they always have. Those are usually strong
       parts of the writer's personality that they haven't learned to
       separate themselves from.
       I'll post a basic character sheet template here, but I hope
       you'll go deeper than this. Add information that isn't included!

       Character Name~ Illiana
       Age~ 20
       Height~ 5’9”
       Weight~ 145lbs
       Appearance~ Hazel almond shaped eyes partially hidden by bangs,
       with black hair in a tight pony tail hanging down too rough mid
       back.. Prefers to wear black and light green clothing, but
       sometimes wears black and blue.
       Personality~ somewhat absent minded when out of the field she
       can be easily startled and distracted by the little things of
       the world. When in the field she seems to make a drastic change
       often being quick to anger and critical of every detail
       surrounding her. That said she is honest often blunt with her
       opinions, and sometimes even cruel.
       Background~ Having played a PK in everything prior to this she
       had intended to hold true to tradition but after the revelation
       that the end was the true end she has for the time being put her
       aspirations of infamy on the backburner.
