How long had it been since Azriel's banishmen? 1000 years? 1500?
He honestly didn't know. All he knew was that he had been
dragged down into a life of shame and embarrassment; Branded,
with those hideous black wings... And what was his crime?
       Nothing more than questioning Raphael/Gabriel(whichever)'s
Methods! He never wished anything but the best for the Earth AND
Divinity! And this was his reward. To wander these lands,
polluted with Avatars and Seraphs that were equally, if not more
corrupt...Of course, as of late, the traffic of Avatars had all
but halted. He had recently been contacted by a messenger from
the Underworld, bearing a message from the Dark Lord himself.
The Underworld was requesting assistance from the Discarded ones
to bring down their dictators. There was a certain poetic
justice to the idea, spreading the will of Lucifer. and breaking
the Underworld free of Gabriel's reign.... But then, handing the
world over To Lucifer wasn't much of a better scanario... Was
there even a lesser of two evils anymore? The messenger had left
back to the Underworld, telling him that she would return soon
to hear the decision of the Fallen Ones. Though they didn't
have a formal organization, Azriel had gathered them
unofficially, and they would make their decision soon. Would
they aid the Tyrannical Seraphs, or the Avatars, who had no sort
of good will for anyone but themselves? It seemed the world
would come to a change soon. What role would they play?

Not bothering with theatrics this time, Detia exploded onto
earth's plane, all energy and fire and power. Shaking herself
off like she had just worked out, she finally turned her
attention on Azriel. "Hey, lost boy." She resisted the urge to
laugh, knowing he already hated her pet name for him. She
produced a black envelope from a puff of smoke, embossed with
the wax seal of the Fallen ones. She crooked an eyebrow up, the
corners of her mouth just slightly turning up. It was a dead
giveaway of what the answer was. This was Detia's area of
expertise; blood, death, destruction, war. Not being some
messenger. And the fight was about to really get rolling. As she
waited for him to finish reading the whole letter, her
blacked-out eyes scoured the surrounding area. "Damn this place
gives me the creeps. I would hate to live here all the time.
Then again, you know what that's like, don't you Lost Boy?" She
tapped her needle-sharp nails against her skin, turning her eyes
back to Azriel, awaiting his reaction to news of the impending
       rebellion.

Darkened grey eyes narrowed at the call of the Demon who had
just left Azriel's presence. He cringed at the sound of the
ridiculous name she had issued him, as if he were some child
from a Disney Movie... He let out a sigh as he turned to face
her. "I assumed when you said you'd "be back soon" You meant in
a couple weeks. I can't make a decision for all of us, after
all..." He took the envelope from the demon and looked at it,
not once even considering to open it up. He cringed once more
in response to the woman's words, however, this time he spoke
up. "You're not well versed in making allies, are you?" He
asked. He already didn't care for the Avatars, but this one was
particularly vexing. Your people lay locked away, held down by
the supreme thumb of Gabriel. My people roam the earth free of
oppression; your only hope for escape, and you come to taunt me?
Mind these words, demon. If you travel here too frequently,
Gabriel will discover the loophole you use and he will close it.
You should be more conscious. With that, he dropped the envelope
on the ground and turned to walk away. "Tell you master he will
receive our answer in two weeks time. Before then, I do not want
       to see your face again..."

       "Well that's a little contradictory, isn't it, L- Azriel?" A
disgruntled look crossed Detia's face as she fought to play nice
for the time being, sensing that she was pushing him. "You said
it yourself, if I overuse it, the Man Upstairs might notice.
So.... No. For now I think I'll stay here, send it by mind
mail." She beamed at him, throwing her arm over his shoulder in
a "buddy buddy" show of affection. Jumping back before he could
hurt her for it, she held up a finger in a "One minute" motion
before murmuring a slew of words, her eyes turning a milky white
before a flash of light in them knocked her over. "Hell... There
is a REASON we don't do things the quick way. Fucking Christ."
Shoving her palms into her eyes, she scrubbed them for a minute
and waited for the head throbbing to subside before standing up.
"Coooooonnnnngratulations," she bellowed in her best game show
imitation. "You've just won an unspecified amount of time with a
new pet demon!" Laughing at herself, she jogged a few steps to
keep up with him. "I'm just taking your advice seriously, you
know. You are right, and I don't want to get caught."

The woman, if it was fair to call her that, was smart to jump
away when she made contact with the Fallen Angel. His muscles
immediately tensened, the feathers of his wings sharpening like
thousands of blades protruding from his back. He was prepared to
skewer the dark creature for making contact with him. How he had
fallen indeed... His patience had fallen to a new low since his
arrival on Earth... A low growl emitted from his lips when the
Avatar expressed that she intended to stay at his side, but
then, he supposed it was for the best. That was, if she could
keep from pushing him to help the Seraphs with her agitating
ways... He closed his eyes, and took a deep breath, his wings
vanishing into his back and a black shirt covering his torso.
"You be sure not to stand out then..." He said. His destination
was a human city. There was a hideout for discarded ones under a
local nightclub He would begin deliberation with his kind
there... It seemed just wandering aimlessly was no longer a
possibility. Not with the threat of war hanging over their
       heads.

A pout formed on Detia's lips, but she nodded. With a
mirage-like wave of the air around her, her hair went from
literally flaming to a deep red, and her black eyes were
replaced with simple grey. In place of her flowing fire-robes, a
simple shirt and cut off shorts. "Better?" She wouldn't admit
it, but she always craved positive feedback from others, which
was probably what made her such a good messenger, the little pat
on the back she got at the end. Blinking her large, steely eyes
at him, she huffed and looked away, knowing he would probably
say she looked like shit just to spite her. "Well, surrogate
boss, where are we headed? I don't know the area, really." She
was feeling antsy already, not used to being here in no man's
land. Hopefully they would be going someplace fun. At least to
keep her occupied. She kept shooting sideways glances at Azriel,
wondering what would make him tick to do that fantastic wing
trick again. Maybe when the fighting was in full swing, perhaps.
For now she knew they both had to lay low.

The demon's obedience came as a surprise to the Discarded Angel.
Not an objection, not a corny joke, just a slight pout before
doing as instructed. It seemed she had been trained well. She
even asked if her disguise was suitable. Azriel nodded his head
in approval. "That's just fine." He said, before turning and
walking. It would be a while before he answered her question,
overgoing possible scenarios in his head, thinking the
possibilities over and over, searching for one with a positive
outcome to no avail. "We're headed to Los Angeles." He said
calmly. "My understanding is your kind once spent a great deal
of time there." There's one of several Hideouts located there.
It's my first stop in spreading the word of your Master's
request. Once we've come to a definitive and unanimous
conclusion, I will send you to Lucifer with our answer." Of
course, In his mind, he had realized that there may not be a
definitive conclusion. It was possible that the Discarded ones
could end up divided over this matter, which would likely end in
their own destruction... Damn Gabriel... His head would roll for
       this...

"L.A.?" Detia's voice rose in pitch and volume until she was
shrieking in excitement. Balling her hands into fist and nearly
vibrating in excitement, she fought to sprint down the road.
What the lost boy said was true, before being locked in the
Underworld, SoCal had been their domain. Giggling with
happiness, despite being disgust at her show of emotion, she
couldn't wipe the stupid toothy grin off her face. "This is
gonna be SO great, Azriel. I promise. We're gonna have fun, and
dance, and drink, and oh my lord, I am so excited!" She snapped
her mouth shut when she noticed the Southern drawl trying to
drag itself out, but couldn't contain one last laugh, after
which she breathed deeply and, gathering herself, spoke without
       the accent. "So... Why L.A.?"

The demon's excited demeanor once more took Azriel by surprise.
She was like a human child in a candy store upon hearing of
their destination. As she ran giddy and excited, Azriel
maintained his slow, calm pace. As she babbled on about things
like "fun" and "Drinking and dancing" he could only scoff. Had
she forgotten the severity of the situation that quickly? He
shook his head as he walked. "You can do those things if you
please. I'm only going to the city to speak with my brethren
about your request. Once I have done that, I'll be on my way to
Toronto." Azriel didn't drive, and it was risky to fly. So
walking was his only option. he continued on his path, not once
stopping to complain about the distance...
