After the kiss, the woman knew her point was made clear. His
hands, his whole touch was gentle as he wiped her stray tears
away, the ache still in her chest. Whatever she tried, she
couldn’t get her mind off her son, it was him that she was
worried about; there really was nothing she could do for Rai,
except mourn. And mourn, she did.
Being the observant woman she was, she not only noticed the
change in his eyes after her agreement to his proposal but the
change to his form when she asked about the mark. It didn’t bear
a happy narrative and so the strings of her heart tightened for
him. What could have caused it? And why did the thought haunt
him so? They were now positioned on another cloud, Imp watching
curiously as he shrugged the robe off, taking a step closer to
       inspect it. It was beautiful.
As he spoke, the slight hint of anger didn’t go unnoticed and
she gasps as he explains his misfortune, tears gathering in her
eyes once more at his stance against the creator; against the
thing he had described as a cruel joke. Her hands move to his
face, drawing it away from the sky, so he’s looking back at her,
letting her own comfort him. Hopefully, he would find solace in
her emerald orbs and her soft kiss, her lips resting on his
       forehead.
Instead of pulling away, however, she lets them linger there,
       her breath ragged.

When the chaos of the dragon's home was made tranquil and quiet,
and Imperfect was reassured her son was competent to rule on his
own once more, she took to the coral and peach skies in order to
find an older friend, though with their blossoming relationship,
friend wouldn't be the right word to describe such a man. The
woman had become tiresome running errands almost every day in
       the Den while also trying to make the newcomers feel welcome;
her son's hospitality toward the -new- draconians in the land
mirrored her own and being exposed to their similarities warmed
her heart greatly. As her strong, trustworthy wings carry her
through the open skies, she becomes tired, heading towards the
ground and hoping the man would seek her out instead. It was as
if the two were somehow connected and maybe it was their shared
status that leads the woman to believe so, but she felt like he
would be able to with ease.
She feels the sand under her bare feet when she lands, little
waves splashing against her ankles, as a soft smile decorates
her angelic visage. When she takes a seat, it seems the woman
can't help but become captivated by the sand under her, green
eyes enthralled by the lustre radiating from it due to the
setting sun on the distant horizon. Imperfect would miss the
beauty of such things but when she let herself unwind, she would
become mesmorised by them. By nature, by the blue sea, home to
many creatures, by the evergreen and the sun, though it burned
to look at it for too long, and by the sand, she was sitting on
now. Everything captured her attention for the time being and
she took it all in while she waited for Azriel, losing herself
to the last memory she had with him.

While she was in the Dragon's Den, Azriel was unable to feel
Imperfect's presence. Not a hint of her energy peeked through to
this world. But when she returned, no matter how great the
distance, he could always tell. And with wings that could travel
the distance of the Earth in seventeen minutes, it never took
       long to reach her.
Six wings retracted into the Angel's back as he landed, so
gently that he barely shifted the sands beneath his feet. He
wasn't surprised that she had chosen a beach to wait for him.
Though she never said it, he always had a feeling that beaches
were her favorite places to visit when they were together. He
walked over to her, smiling gently as he noticed he taking in
everything she could. "What are you looking at?" He asked. It
was the wrong question. He needed to ask her how she was? How
everyone was doing, and most importantly, if Calyx had improved.
But for whatever reason, those were the words that escaped his
lips. He could only hope they translated into the words he had
intended. If only by some miracle...

"You know. . . we always forget to just appreciate the beauty
       the earth has to offer."
A smile had found its way to her lips, tugging at either side
when his voice fills the air around her, and her heart jumps
with joy, and affection. There was always a fog of warmth
scattered around him, and it seemed, whenever he was in her
vicinity, it hugged her tightly and held on like a dear friend,
one whose company was always welcome. She watches the same smile
resonate on his visage when she tilts her head back to look up
at him, not making any attempts to get up. When he does get
closer however, she lifts her arms, to take his hands in her own
and pull him down gently so he's seated in front of her. Instead
of enjoying mother nature however, she observes him now,
seemingly captivated by those chilling eyes, his pale hair, and
the light trails of veins in his forehead. Her green gaze
travels to his chest, watching as the wind tugs at his robe and
it sways to the side, to show the mark on his chest, the mark
that had become her favourite thing about him, the very thing he
       detested.
Releasing his right hand to place hers under his chin to cup his
face, her smile widens, placing a sweet and brief kiss on his
forehead. And when she does speak again, her voice is light, and
       happy.
       "Calyx wants to meet you."

Her statement was true, and yet, Azriel felt unmoved by it. His
eyes didn't traverse the beach, or the ocean, but rather
remained fixated on the woman before him. "The greatest beauty
the Earth has to offer has been in another world as of late." he
said. His voice carried it's usual calm about it, as if he were
speaking an everyday fact, rather than his own opinion.
When Imperfect reached up for Azriel, he assumed it was for him
to help her up, but rather, she pulled him into a seated
position on the ground with her. He could feel her eyes taking
him in as his did the same of her. She was a work of art in
every sense. He still couldn't understand how he, a being
lacking any sort of vibrance could have fallen into her
       affections.
His eyes closed as a tender kiss was planted on his forehead.
while viewing her memories, he recalled that it was a form of
affection that Raijuta showed her often during their marriage. A
stranger to many emotions, he didn't find it insulting, or
offensive, but rather flattering, that she would bestow upon him
       the same affection.
But even greater still, was the news that she delivered to him.
"So he's awake then!" Excitement was another foreign emotion to
Azriel. But he could feel his heart racing upon hearing that
Calyx was awake, and wanted to meet him. He had no emotional
attachment to Calyx, having never met him. But he was the most
important thing in Imperfect's world, and that made him
important to Azriel as well. "I would love to meet him." He said
       with a smile.

It had been almost a year now, since Imperfect and Azriel had
become an item. They had created a home together in the skies,
and had become all but inseparable. Their home, a palace that
floated on the clouds, was inspired greatly by the Dragon's Den.
Not that Azriel was capable of such an intricate creation, but
it was built using certain divine magics, that made it visible
only to those who were invited. The humans below would have no
awareness of it. And since it moved with the clouds, it was
never in one place for long.
Calyx was the only regular visitor, though other family members
stopped by from time to time. He was truly a blessing. He
brought treats, and helped care for Imperfect. Having never
dealt with a pregnant woman before, and in her current state,
Imperfect made little sense to him. Her moods and desires seemed
to fluctuate with no concern for logic or reason, and Calyx was
far more capable of keeping up.
Azriel had had little time to spend bonding with Calyx on a
one-on-one level. However, their mutual love for Imperfect had
allowed them to build at least some sort of relationship with
each other. Calyx had explained many things to Azriel that he
otherwise wouldn't have known, and Azriel provided a service to
Calyx by watching over Imperfect while the young Draconian was
       away caring for his step-mother.
This day had been particularly calm. Despite the storms raging
from the clouds beneath the palace, all was peaceful. Azriel lay
with Imperfect, rubbing her belly. She was due to give birth in
only a couple more weeks. It was unheard of for two angels to
make a baby, but here they were. Azriel had never experienced
happiness like he had the past several months. He was free of
his mission. It had been replaced with a new one; Raising a safe
and healthy family. "Do you need anything?" He asked. It had
been only hours since Calyx left for home, but Azriel didn't
want Imperfect to think that she couldn't rely on him when her
son wasn't around. He was the father of her child, after all...

It had been eight long months of physical changes and mood
swings, and Imperfect was particularly glad for Calyx; her boy
had grown to be a fine young man, and without him, she imagined
Azriel would be at a loss most of the time. The two men in her
life had come to respect each other, though, given their
circumstance and their ever-changing location, it made it a
little hard for Calyx to visit, especially during these last few
weeks, and that did stress her a little.
The clouds roared outside, slender fingers wrapping around the
sheets beneath them, always falling for the same trick. Whenever
there was thunder beneath them, Imperfect always assumed it
would somehow shake the house, but it only shook her, and she
knew where the worry stemmed from, she had the same motherly
instinct when she was pregnant with Calyx. A mother with child
was a force to be reckoned with, Imperfect found she was more
protective, always holding her stomach, cradling her large
belly, and as they lay on the bed, she gazes down at her fallen
angel, unable to stop the smile that crept over her lips.
The rubbing soothed her, Azriel soothed her. He was her rock
these past few months and she had been fortunate enough to
witness how he let go of the burden that weighed him down once
upon a time and replaced it with a new calling. It had been one
of the best things about the pregnancy, that, and a child.
Though they hadn’t planned it, Imperfect too was over the moon,
she felt whole again, like she had a purpose once more. Her days
weren’t just dragging on, she was living them.
“Just you, my love,” her voice is soft, calm, as she looks down
       at him, “thank you”.
She wasn’t just thanking him for asking, she was thanking him
for the past few months he had spent looking after her, despite
       how irritating she had been.
