       Searching (Arizona and Sae)
By: Bethany Daniels Date: December 17, 2013, 9:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Many years had passed since the three sisters had been together,
too many for Arizona to keep track. They had all been orphans,
left on then steps of an orphanage as young children. Kansas had
been adopted first, then Georgia, and finally Arizona. It hurt
to watch her sisters be taken away, never to be seen again, but
she had not forgotten them. No, she had managed to keep the only
picture taken of them after all of these years.
When she had reached the proper age, she began her search. It
was proving to be more difficult than she imagined. The
orphanage had been closed down and any adoption records were
hidden among millions of other handwritten documents. Arizona
would have to do all of the work on her own, without any money
at her disposal. Her foster parents hadn't been the richest
       family in the world.
There was one advantage that she had. Arizona was a werewolf.
       With her heightened senses, tracking wouldn't be as difficult;
once she found a trail, though. This is what brought her to the
edge of a forest that bordered a large city. Her soft blue eyes
surveyed the landscape as uncertainty gripped the core of her
heart. Would she ever find her sisters? "Where are you Kansas?
       Georgia?"

The worst thing, and the best thing about watching everyone you
ever cared about fade away into dust. Is the numb feeling that
creeps into your heart, it allows you to make choices that many
others cannot. Sae had watched his family crumble down into a
few scant members, the woman who stole his heart away die. The
friends he had, faded away in obscurity, the only father he ever
knew was no longer around. He was alone, but he favored this
feeling. It meant that there was nothing left for him to lose.
Everything he'd ever wanted to care about he had already cared
about. The loved ones were no more...so now he just moved on
       doing what he could.
Silently, his footsteps fall onto the dirt leaving no sound but
a whisper. After all, if you were silent you cannot leave behind
a trace. His golden eyes peer out around him underneath the mask
he wore to hide his face. Faces stayed forever, masks faded away
into nothing more than a memory. He drags his sword behind him,
it was tethered to his arm by a chain so he can easily pull it
toward him should the need arise. He body was covered by cloth,
leather, and armor. Nothing was revealed for someone to remember
him by. The only thing not hidden away was his hair. It was long
brown, and wild blowing in the wind behind him.
He briefly lifts the mask away from his face so he could better
see the forest that he was walking out of. The stench of the
city was already creeping up his nose, the corruption, the lies,
and the memories. He scoffs to himself. "Cities, you are always
so readily scarred by those who claim you as their home. If only
they knew how to to actually live" with that he walks toward the
city. He had nothing to fear within the bounds of human
civilization. Just more hollow people wearing figurative masks
compared to the literal mask he wore.

This city was no different than any other she had been in. Those
who inhabited them did not see anything beyond the surface. They
cared not for the distress of others, nor the crimes that
occurred feet from them. They were blinded by greed and vanity.
Disgust arose within her, disgust towards the cold, close-minded
drones that called this city home. She did not go unnoticed,
though. Every few steps, some man was calling after her or
asking for her number. But, she continued upon her path, seeking
a means to answer questions. If only she knew exactly where she
was heading. Each city had a different layout, and city hall
could be in any part, most likely hidden in dark corner that
       most would not visit.
Nearly an hour had passed since she had entered the town, and
she was growing more agitated by the minute. No one seemed to
know where city hall was; and if they did, directions were far
too vague. Upon turning a corner, she got the overwhelming
feeling that she was being followed. The next turn she took led
her into a dead end alleyway. Four men, all burly and crude
looking blocked the only exit. Arizona could fend them off
easily, but she would lose her element of secrecy; which left
her in a difficult predicament. "Hello sexy," the leader said to
her, "what are you doing wandering around alone? Bad things
could happen to you in this big, bad city." The wolf in her
itched to be freed, but she surpressed it and waited for an
opening to escape. An escape that would not come easily.

As he walks into the city, he could tell this city was more
rotten than most. The air stank of foulness, and it wasn't just
the cars, or the sewers. This foulness was permeated through
cities soul. "Remember, this is not your issue" he growls to
himself and walks along the city. He heard the sounds of
gunfire, men, women and children screaming for something
material. He couldn't believe it, there was no one here who just
wanted something completely real. A silent tear streams down his
cheek, it was a tear of complete sorrow. As the tear hits the
ground he hears it. A heart almost as lonesome as he was, but
there was a deep longing within it. Not for money, nor anything
material, it was a longing for a connection to something real. A
family. This heart longed to be with sisters, a connection
       deeper than blood.
Sae closes his eyes and focuses on the connection between him
and the woman. Reality starts to warp around his presence, and
then he vanishes stepping forth from behind the woman. He looks
around her and notices the gang that was near her. In what would
be described as a moments breath, his sword would be in his
hand. He slams the sheath against the foot of the one sneaking
up on them. "I was hoping, I'd find one not completely corrupt"

A scream fought its way through her lungs, though it was quickly
stifled. Not many had the ability to sneak up on her, but this
man had. He smelt different, inhuman, but he didn't seem to
smell of wolf, either. And the sword her carried, archaic in
this day and age; however, it was still beautiful to behold.
The four men glanced at one another before turning and vacating
the ally. Apparently they had lost their 'advantage' and chose
to remain in good health. At least they had some sense for
survival, though humans lack the true instinct to remain safe
       from danger for long.
"That could be let to interpretation. Corrupted by greed and
vanity, no; but corrupted by hope, then yes. I do suppose one
cannot truly be undone by holding onto hope, even if it did kill
them." She turned toward the man for the first time, noticing
first the golden eyes and then his mask. A bit peculiar, but she
wasn't about to state that to him. He had done her a favor and
saved her from having to reveal herself.

Before the woman could speak the ones who had tried to run away
from him froze in their tracks "I'll be back to speak with you.
I have some vermin to take care of" with that Sae vanishes from
the direction the woman was looking at. He appeared behind her,
he speaks calmly with the rage of a lion to his voice "You...you
are filth, scum, and you are not worthy of life anymore" he
walks up behind the gangsters and one by one cuts off their
arms. There was no screaming, because they were frozen. Normal
human's couldn't stand to be near him. Let alone be expected to
abate his rage by the least. The gangsters were no longer able
to make anyone fear for their safety.
He appears before the woman again, he looks at her. "There is no
issue with hope, hope is what allows humans to reach their
highest potential" the coldness and anger was gone. Now it was
just a normal platonic tone, he peered into the woman's eyes
wondering what it was that kept her sane. "The feeling of a
family, it is indeed a strong one. I hope you are able to find
them again. Call me if you need help, and don't worry about not
knowing my name. You'll figure it out when you realize it, you
       will be good"

"I believe you presume me to be human, when I am far from those
ungrateful beings. No, I am a wolf, as are my sisters; born of
pure blood, though separated from our parents." This man was a
peculiar one, though he did not wreak with humanity. Perhaps
that would explain how he had snuck up with her noticing.
Regardless of that fact, he had saved her from revealing her
true self to those humans and possibly being discovered.
It would appear the strange man was leaving her before she had a
chance to ask him any questions. A panicked expression fell
across her face and she reached out for his arm. "Please don't
leave yet. I have no luck in my search, and I was hoping to ask
you a few questions. I'm looking for my sisters and I'm very
desperate. They would look almost exactly like I do, at least I
think that they would. It has been over twelve years since the
three of us were together, maybe even fifteen. Please tell me
you have seen either of them, or could point me in the proper
direction." Her soft, blue eyes pleaded with him, with the hope
that had some information that would help her.
