       Reunited: The Imaginist's Shadows.
By: Rilla Date: August 3, 2013, 11:55 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Though the rain was heavy outside the youth that made his way
through the familiar town seemed to only catch a small bit of
it. The dreary atmosphere would never lean itself to tell one
that it was only three in the afternoon, instead allowing those
who did not have access to some type of time telling device to
believe that it was closer to dusk. Not many people populated
the streets of the town, choosing to stay out of the rain and
let it pass. He must have been a spectacle, walking alone in the
rain, wearing a fancy suit and hat - but the young man didn’t
mind it. The last time he was here he was seen as a spectacle.
Then again, the last time he was here, shadows seemed to devour
a particular pack of young men and women that had made fun of
him and his date at the time - Trinity.
Kaige smiled softly at the thought of the young woman he had
formed a deep bond with, but it swiftly turned into a frown when
he realized that ten toes and ten fingers could not count the
months that had passed since their last encounter. It was a long
shot, but he had to try, he had to know what mysteriously drew
him to this place where their meeting had turned into a lengthy
one where their hands would soon touch and embrace - where he
watched her shadows protect her from even the smallest of
touches. Perhaps Trinity had returned to this place, maybe out
of necessity, or morbid curiosity - either way, he had to try.
Kaige had told Joseph, whom was now awaiting the arrival of
Merlin Seba, that something was calling him from a faraway land.
Joseph excused him without so much as batting an eye, or opening
them for that matter. It took little more than an exercise in
his abilities to transport him back to this town - this
dilapidated little town. He landed on the outskirts and waited,
for just a few hours, staring into the dark forest that the pair
had once entered and for just a few moments, became one. He had
seen the darkest of her secrets when he delved into her willing
soul. Her past relationships, both romantic and platonic - her
past with her mother. It was all laid bare for Kaige to peruse,
which he did. Something tugged at his heart during this time,
and he grew feelings for the beautiful young woman. Perhaps that
was why he was so eager to return to this hellhole, a place that
was once a sense of anguish for him - even though he had spent
an inconsequential amount of time within it’s walls.
It didn’t take much walking to discover the same little
restaurant they sat in and shared a meal. Their table was empty
and the place was almost devoid of customers, except for a few
parties that sat scattered around. The slightly damp man took a
seat, and ordered a sweet tea. It seemed the place was under new
management, but had done little to differentiate the place from
the previous owners menu or design, perhaps it was still in the
       family.
Kaige let his eyes wander, until eventually, they landed outside
on the nearly empty streets where the rain crashed down in waves
       - the lightning ignited the sky in a brilliant white hue, and
the rumbling sound of thunder captivated his attention, as he
waited for the impossible. Waited for Trinity.

Trinity did not stay long in the woods these days despite the
way her shadows tried to call her back to their home. Why would
she stay there though? The woods brought nothing but pain and
loneliness to her. The rain poured down upon the streets causing
people to scatter like startled roaches. In the forest, the
leaves would have protected her and this wouldn’t have been a
problem. Trinity had smelt the rain in the air and had knelt
beneath a low overhang hoping that the natural shadow of the
place would hide her from the owners eye- she had not asked
permission to borrow the underneath of his balcony as a
temporary home. Luckily she had snuck in earlier when the
streets had been totally bare so no one had seen her panther,
       Dalia.
Trinity could probably make the spirit animal disappear for a
bit if she needed too, but she much preferred to let the panther
do whatever it wishes. She was not the panthers master, she was
her equal. She stared out across the street with two cold eyes-
this town was stuffed full of memories and though she wished to
not relive them…there was nowhere else for her to go. Right
across the street was the place where she had her first “date”
with him. Kaige. Her heart twisted at the simple thought of his
name however, that merely caused her to scowl. Emotions would
not bring him back. He had left her, forgotten her probably. She
told herself that every day and every day the wound he left
scarred. It would never disappear; she was fairly certain that
Kaige was the first love of her life. He had brought Dalia to
her and in turn she had waited for him which was something she
would do for no one else.
The small café looked so cozy and warm as opposed to this hell
hole that would occasionally drip water onto her hair causing
some droplets to slip down her face as though she were crying.
She did not bother to wipe the rain away, she did not move. She
simply glared across the street in a bittersweet state of
missing the happiness she once had and hating that she had once
had a taste of love at all. Because now she missed it- though
       she would never admit it.
Trinity was ripped away from her thoughts at a small growl
resonating behind her, a warning. A pair of slacks stepped in
front of her view and a weathered old hand set itself on the
“roof” of her hideout. The knees of the stranger shook as they
kneeled down before a wrinkly face came into her vision. “Hello
there, miss.” She did not respond though the man still had that
smile on his face. Trinity could feel Dalia’s tail whip her in
the back in aggravation. It was not smart to approach a big cat,
especially a wet big cat that simply wanted to be left alone.
After a few moments of tenseness the man continued as though she
had replied to him and actually wanted to speak. “I saw your
eyes from all the way across the street! Quite beautiful! You
look a bit hungry, would you care to get something to eat?”
She knew the elderly man was simply trying to be nice, but
Trinity simply did not care to eat with the man. She didn’t want
to speak with this man. She didn’t want to look at him. She
didn’t want to hear his old lecture about how she should be
taking better care of herself and how “beautiful” she was. So
instead she simply responded “No.” coldly to him, hoping he
would get the point. “Thank you though..” She forced between her
lips feeling the smallest grumble from behind her- Dalia,
chuckling in her catlike way. “Oh! No you simply must!” The man
said as he reached into the darkness towards her.
“No!” She cried out feeling Dalia pounce forward towards the man
causing him to cry out in fright. The shadows had also began to
rise out from her skin causing the old man’s eyes to widen as he
stumbled backwards. At seeing the large cat the small amount of
people that were out on the street screamed and began to run
away. Others that heard the commotion from indoors would peer
out their windows before opening their mouths and rushing
towards the phone. “Demon! You’re a demon!” The old man said
       before stumbling away.
“Shit.” Trinity mumbled quietly, stepping out of the darkness.
Dalia did not chase the man, she was not going to attack him,
and she had simply been warning him to step back. Humans.
Frowning quietly, Trinity looked around at the crowd as they
continued to scream despite the fact she was simply doing
nothing. Her eyes glanced once more at the café knowing that she
would not be allowed back at this town though she just had to
see it one last time. As her eyes scanned the shocked crowd in
the café, her eyes landed on one face. His face. Her mouth
instantly fell slack as shock poured through her body. Then a
snap instant of happiness shot though her blood and a single
thought- he had returned. That was before anger took hold of her
body; he was not here for her. Her eyes darkened and her senses
suddenly took in the world once more, sirens were racing her
way. She had to leave, now.
“Kaige..” She whispered and gave the man once last glance before
taking off down the street with Dalia trailing not very far
behind, the cats ears pinned back against her head and her tail
lashing wildly. She would be forced back into the forest where
       monsters belonged.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
The rain sounded lovely outside to the young man who sat
longingly at one of the tables. His mind wandered vividly
through the times he had spent sitting and chatting with
Trinity, letting his heart and their closeness grow fonder until
it ached when he was not with her. He had never told Joseph, but
he had a feeling his adoptive father knew how he felt about the
woman. How the shadows seemed to always dance just beneath her
skin, a dangerous dance that would lash out and tear apart the
flesh of a partner they had not whole heartedly approved.
Subconciously, his hand momentarily balled up at the thought
that they had almost made a meal of his hand before he and
Trinity had become better acquainted. His eyes scanned the
outside, the rainy environment, for a face he was for sure
wouldn't show - for hair that he was sure he would never have
against him. A sigh parted his lips, a fools errand this was - a
       fools errand.
Tigris hung within his eye, watching with greater detail and
senses than Kaige could ever muster - but even the Sabertooth
Tiger was having a hard time accepting the fact it's once kind
playpal was never to be seen again. Kaige sipped his drink and
let his eyes close - perhaps when he opened them, she would be
there - just as Joseph hoped Merlin would be. It was worth a
shot. It seemed that forever would pass him by not once, not
twice, but three times before he opened his eyes - the seat
across from him still empty and the land outside continually
being beat by the rain. His heart seemed to coil tightly, giving
him fair warning that the creeping sadness he felt when his eyes
opened was real and not a figment of his overactive imagination.
"Tigris, my pet, I fear I have made a grave mistake. I have left
the side of my Father, to come find a woman whose body I can
still feel pressed upon me. A woman's whose fingers I still feel
laced between my own, whose own life was laid bare to me in a
moment of undying trust. At night when the stars are bright, or
when the sky is blackened with clouds, I can still feel her
breaths as they ran across my chest - how her eyes ran over my
every tattoo, new and old - how my clothing did nothing for her,
but show her what taste I had. I doubt she cared about such
trivial things, however. Every shadow I pass, I have to actively
tell myself that they do not belong to her - her shadows do not
lie in wait and that she is not just around the corner, hiding -
playing a silly child's game. Every waking moment, Tigris, as
you well know - I feel the love I have for Trinity shines just
as bright, but I've seen into her past and I know what she will
see me as. Another of them. Another that came in and fondled her
heart, and then left it there - a person I did not aim to be,
       but became anyway."
Kaige let out another sigh and finished off the drink he had
ordered. His eyes went outside once more, dancing along the
crowd of people walking to and fro, trying to quickly execute
their business so they could go back to the safety of their
       homes away from the rain.
That was when the impossible, the improbable - happened.
Eyes of cartoon clouds locked with those of the woman who held
his heart. Trinity had returned! She was back! Tigris seemed to
roll from its leisurely slumber, sensing the proximity of Dalia.
There was a man running down the street and within moment's he
knew the reason. He had approached the woman while she was under
the cover of darkness and the shadows rose from her. How long
had she been there? How long had she been hiding in that
       darkness!
In a flash he was on his feet, staring out of the window at the
woman he loved - at Trinity. Though he could not here her, he
could make out the words she was saying - or rather, the word.
She remembered him, she said his name.
       "WAIT! TRINITY!"
Kaige burst from the small shop and booked down the street in
the direction the woman had taken. Tigris seemed to manifest
itself with each step it took, its sense of smell firmly locked
on that of Dalia. He ignored all the frightened men and women,
the curious children who hung to the ends of their mother's
dresses. He ignored the wind and the rain, the thunder and
lightning that cracked overhead. He ran, he ran - following the
beautiful red mane of Trinity, following the body of the woman
       he longed for.
There was no indication of how long he ran, or how hard, but he
soon came to a stop. He dropped to his knees and felt Tigris
come to a halt next to him.
       "TRINITY!"
He yelled into the sky as the rain poured down on him.
       "TRINITY I'M SORRY."
He didn't seem to take into account where he was - it was the
same area they had spent their most important night. The boulder
that they sat on, the area where, once he came from within the
woman's soul unlocking Dalia, he seemed to be devoid of a vast
amount of energy. He was stronger now, but that same weakness
that gripped him then seemed to be making it's trimuphant return
       - but not because he lacked any metaphysical energy, but because
of the pain his heartfelt. The memories they had made here were
now turned into daggers that penetrated his heart and twisted.
"Trinity, I am so sorry," he whispered with rain drops dripping
from his lips, his body soaked by the falling water - his heart
shattered by the thought that she was gone forever.

By: Brina Date: August 7, 2013, 3:54 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
She could hear his shouts chasing after her which only pushed
her faster past the crowd and into the forest. The change from
cement to the moist soil of the forest floor caused her to slip
though she quickly regained her composure and raced into the
cover of the darkness. She could almost immediately taste the
difference in the air; it was so much cleaner here than in the
smog ridden town. Her lungs begged for more of this new
freshness. Kaige was getting closer which took her by surprise,
though they had never really fought to see who was the more
powerful one in the relationship. He would soon catch up to her
though, he shouts were getting closer.
She forced her legs to push faster and harder and though her
mind screamed at her limbs, her heart simply wasn’t in it. This
was the first person that had ever returned to her. He was here
for her! “Listen to the way he’s calling you!” Her heart pleaded
though she shook it off feeling tears slip from the corners of
her eyes and down her cheeks. She had vowed to never let herself
be weak again. She had shown Kaige everything; her pasts, her
weaknesses. It was HIS decision to leave and now he was trying
       to come back?
He cried out again maybe just thirty feet behind her. In one
swift catlike movement she jumped up onto a tree branch, pull
herself up and crouched down. “Dalia.” She commanded in a
whisper and within a second the cat was beside her. The branch
moaned under their combined weight though Trinity ignored it.
The shadows lifted from her skin and concealed both her and
Dalia in a mass of shadows causing them to mix in perfectly
within the forest without being unnoticed….By sight anyway.
Trinity took in the setting as she awaited his arrival any
minute now. She remembered this place, of course she remembered.
It was where she let herself be weak around him for the first
time and where he had given her Dalia. Now this place gave her
nothing but heartache; though she couldn’t help but find it
ironic how they had ended up in this place again. Trinity
quietly wrapped her arms around her, focusing back down on the
spanning branches as Kaige made his approach. As he came into
eyesight she couldn’t stop her heart from twisting painfully
once more as though calling out to him. Though she would say
nothing but instead watch him with cold blue eyes as he fell
       down to his knees.
Dalia, seeing her friend, Tigris, wriggled her butt a bit as
though she were about to pounce down upon the unsuspecting
tiger. Trinity frowned nervously, placing a hand upon the flank
of the large cat. It was not often she stopped Dalia from doing
whatever she wanted. However, it was only a matter of time until
Tigris caught their scent on the air if Kaige were to stay here
any longer. Her heart felt as though it were pounding behind a
chest of solid cement. Her mind did not want to speak to Kaige,
though her heart cried out to him. Maybe she could forgive him.
Maybe just this once. Unexpectedly the tree branch creaked as
Dalia restlessly tensed to pounce upon Tigris. There was no
       stopping her this time.
Before Tigris could barely twitch an ear in their direction,
Dalia was leaping through the air, paws extended towards her
fellow big cat. It had been quite some time since the two had
played. Sighing softly knowing that she had been caught, Trinity
jumped from the branch, landing on the ground with a soft thump
before quickly straightening. She rewrapped her arms around her
chest as though further blocking the man from her heart, the
shadows swirled gently around her in a warning to stay away, red
lighting snapped occasionally within the darkness.
“Why should you be sorry, Kaige?” She tried to speak coldly and
without emotion though now that she was face to face with the
beautiful man that had stole her heart once, she found it
difficult to keep her composure. All the months of trying to get
stronger seemed to crumble as he looked upon her. “You got on
with your life… And I.. Didn’t. But that’s my fault.” She
muttered, lifting the edges of her lips up in what could be the
worst attempt of a smile in her life. Though Trinity admitted
internally that she missed him, that didn’t mean she was going
       to forgive him so quickly.

Tigris had easily kept up with Kaige, staying on his tail enough
not to lose him, but not close enough to trip the man up should
he abruptly stop. As they entered the forest, Tigris made her
way to his side, vigilantly watching the darkness for a danger
that might very well appear, but more looking out for an old
playmate she had been forced to abandon many moons ago. Soon
their steps slowed, and Kaige was on the ground - crying out for
a woman that was invisible to the human eye, as well as to that
of a Sabertooth - but even darkness couldn't hide a scent.
However, Dalia got the jump on Tigris and came from the trees -
tackling the Sabertooth Tiger to the ground. Both felines began
to roll around, playing until they disappeared under the brush.
Their growls and roars of friendship seeping into the depths of
the forest and sending birds scattering out and into the sky in
fear. Kaige didn't seem to notice the playful disappearance, his
eyes drawn to the portion of the trees were Dalia had came from.
The sounds of the groaning limbs resetting to their position had
almost been a dead giveaway, but none more certain than the
woman that leapt from the shadows and landed on the ground
       several feet away from him.
“Why should you be sorry, Kaige?”
Her voice was just as lovely as ever, but the well trained eyes
could see the composure of the woman was faltering. The bravado
she postured for him was quickly failing, and she was doing all
she could to hold herself together. He knew from delving into
her soul and psyche that forgiveness would not be as forthcoming
as one would have liked, but Kaige deserved that - and he knew
       it.
“You got on with your life… And I.. Didn’t. But that’s my
       fault.”
He snapped out of the mute trance he was in. The image of the
woman was beautiful and the lapse in time in which they had last
been in such proximity had taken it's toll. He shook his head
and brought himself back to his feet. He looked at the woman for
a moment before his mouth opened and words began to fall out.
"Got on with my life? I won't lie and say that my life has been
at a standstill since we parted, but there has been no other
woman who has captivated me, such like you did. Every part of my
life moved on, except for the bond that me and you shared
together; no one has been able to give me that same feeling."
He stepped closer to the woman, and that's when the shadows
began to curl and whip, lashing out, not far from her body, but
far enough to warn Kaige that he was not welcome.
"They still protect a goddess so feverishly," Kaige mused as he
began to walk forward towards the woman. He knew the pain the
shadows would inflict, but that was something he would deal
with. He longed to have Trinity back in his arms. His fingers
reached out, his hand - reaching towards the woman as though it
was beckoning for her to grab it. He could feel the shadows lash
against them, leaving small lacerations - but he fought through
the pain. He did not let his eyes falter from the woman, staring
deep into the eyes of the beautiful redhead he had become
       enamored with.
"Trinity, I am so sorry." He whispered once more as lightning
streaked across the sky. His hand reached the woman's face and
for the first time he winched; her shadows had completely
consumed his hand, it was nothing but a swirling mass of
blackness. It didn't matter; he stepped closer and closer, until
her arms, wrapped around her chest, were the only things keeping
them from being chest to chest. The shadows seemed to attempt to
swallow him whole, blood dripping towards the ground from the
scratches on his face, neck, and arms. "Please, forgive me...,"
he said, before his free hand wrapped around her and was

Trinity felt heat rise up in her cheeks as he spoke about their
relationship, her eyes dropping momentarily to the ground. Yet,
the highly audible hiss from the shadows immediately caused her
to lift her gaze back on the man. As he took a step towards her
she in turn took a small step back. “Kaige..” She said in
warning, her oddly color blue eyes widening a bit as he
continued to step towards her while she continued to step back.
The shadows were outraged as he continued to approach them. “I
won’t control them, Kaige.” She practically shouted at the man
despite him being just a few feet away from her. Of course
Trinity would never try to let her shadows hurt the man, but the
shadows sensed her torn emotions and wanted this man nowhere
       near her.
As he reached towards her, she could feel tears began to well up
in her eyes as she saw the darkness consume his hand. Scratches
began to appear on the vulnerable flesh. Internally she screamed
at her shadows to stop, though they did not. Her once blue eyes
faded into a soulless black color and indication of the extreme
stress and emotion that she was feeling. Around them the shadows
screamed and began swirling viciously around them slashing
towards Kaige and nicking his skin but certainly a bit subdued
due to Trinity’s internal outrage with them.
When he placed his hand upon her cheek she felt a silent tear
slide down her face. What was she to do? She didn’t want to
forgive him, she didn’t want to be vulnerable to him again.. But
she couldn’t stand the pain that she was unintentionally
inflicting. His arms then wrapped around her, pulling her in and
causing the darkness to go into a sheer frenzy, causing tears in
his clothing as well as skin. She could see blood well up from
some of the deeper scratches and slip down his skin.
Red electricity cackled around them, the branches from trees
were carelessly torn away in the shadow tornado and the trees
shook due to the wind. This was only a partial amount of the
shadow’s anger, this was nowhere near their whole power. Despite
causing damage to the surrounding area, they only had one
target- Kaige. Trinity felt an unearthly anger began to well up
from her bones, an anger that was similar to that she felt for
her mother though this time it was based towards the shadows.
Quivering she glanced up at Kaige only to see a shadow slice
into his cheek. And that was when she snapped.
Fury contorted her features and her eyes flashed a honey gold
for the briefest of moments. Just like Bree, Trinity’s eyes
always would give away her emotions, how angry she were. The
colors came in blue, which was her average eye color; black,
which meant she angry and to not mess with her. Yet, very few
had seen gold in either Bree or Trinity. If either woman were to
reach that point it meant that they were losing control on the
monsters within them. Trinity felt more and more darkness rise
from her skin like a demon rising from within her.
“GET AWAY” She screamed up at the darkness and a wave of force
pushed the darkness backwards. Trees nearby toppled over like
bowling pins and Trinity could feel the sudden fear in Dalia as
her spirit animal had to jump out of the way of a tree before it
crushed her. Birds evacuated from their homes as quickly as
possible and bunnies tried to out race the falling foliage.
Everything happened in a sheer second though it felt as though
time had slowed. The only one unaffected by the blast was Kaige,
Trinity had made sure of that. A sudden silence followed the
incident besides Trinity’s slightly labored breathing.
Instead she silently took another unsteady step towards Kaige
and simply rested her head against his shoulder. The darkness in
her mind was completely silent. Was there any darkness still
there? She had never screamed at them before. She couldn’t feel
them moving in her bones. The silence in her mind frightened her
incredibly; she wasn’t used to hearing her own thoughts. Unable
to help herself, she quietly wept into the man that stood in
front of her. What if he thought of her as some kind of monster
now? And what if she had badly hurt him with her shadows? She
grabbed desperately onto the front of his shirt and simply
continued to cry. She was scared of the reaction she would see.
She was scared that her darkness had left her.
She could hear some mewling noises coming from the fallen forest
and soon the figures of Tigris and Dalia had made their way back
to the couple. Both eyes were wide and their furs were fluffed
causing them to look quite comical looking if the situation had
been any different. Then a few moments later a few strings of
darkness peered into the clearing warily, she swore that she
could almost hear the smallest whisper as if asking if it were
okay to return. Though she was only thinking this because she
had removed all of the shadows from her body, unlike her mother,
Trinity did not have an unlimited supply though many thought she
did. This was the first time Trinity had been completely without
her shadows and she felt totally empty.
Pulling away from Kaige, she stepped towards the timid darkness
and as she approached they pulled back like a child that was
regularly abused. Kneeling onto the damp ground, she help her
palms out for them. “I’m sorry..” She whispered, staring at the
shadows. “But you do not control me…and you must listen.” A few
wisps approached her slowly, lifting from the ground and onto
her hand, not entering her body, but slipping along her skin.
Trinity never thought that she would miss the cool feeling that
they provided her. “If you understand..you may return..” She
       said keeping her voice low.
She didn’t need to tell the darkness twice, immediately they
shot back into her skin so quickly that her arms up to her
elbows were covered in completely darkness for a minute or two.
Trinity winced just a bit as the darkness stabbed back into her
bloodstream. Immediately their voices were heard once more and
she sighed in relief. They cried and whimpered apologies and
promises and Trinity couldn’t help but smile at them and
       reassure them.
Finally she stood once more feeling her heart drop once more.
Trinity then turned to Kaige, her skin barren of shadows now and
her eyes back to their luminescent blue color. What would he
think of her? Most of the cuts had stopped bleeding at this
point, though they were bound to still be sore to touch. “I
think I’m the one that owns an apology this time..” She
murmured, keeping her distance and nervously biting on the
inside of her cheek as she stared at him. This was his chance to
       leave.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
The scratches were painful, they were numerous and they seemed
to be coming from a place of limitless potential. They clawed
and bite, scratched and dug into, skin that would eventually be
torn away. The skin of a man who didn't care about the outcome,
so long as he was holding the person they shadows were
protection. What pain he felt he pushed away deep into himself,
willing it away from the portion that was connected to Tigris.
He knew if she felt it, if she sensed the ounce of pain that he
felt she would come running in a hurried frenzy. It was dark in
the cocoon of shadows he was in, but they couldn't stop the
feeling of blood and tears that were sliding down their bodies.
His hand felt the first tear and his thumb moved to wipe it
       away.
His eyes remained closed but he could feel the sheer swell of
power that was encircling them - deep in his gut he knew that
whatever it was was for him, and no one else. He could hear the
electricity crackle around him, searching - aiming for a spot to
land a fatal strike. The sound of cracking branches being
whipped around like a child's plaything seeped into his psyche
and for a moment caused him to flinch. He didn't want to die,
but he would gladly do so if it meant Trinity knew that he would
never let her go if he could help it. A cut marred his cheek as
Trinity looked towards him, the flash of gold in her eyes giving
him cause for concern. He searched her eyes for the swiftest of
moments, unsure of what to expect next, and that was when he
       heard it.
       GET AWAY!
Kaige refused to move, instead only holding Trinity harder. He,
personally, thought she meant him and he refused to listen. Yet,
he found out soon enough that his thoughts were wrong. The
energy that seemed to devestate the land suddenly rushed away in
all directions, tearing through the forest like a wicked flame
consuming material to keep itself alive. Tigris quickly went to
evade the flames, ducking and rolling - phasing out just as a
tree collapsed and fell right where she was standing. She soon
reappeared on top of the tree and looked towards Dalia, who
began to take off towards Trinity and Kaige. Tigris was hot on
her tail, leaping over and around fallen foliage and gigantic
       trunks.
With a sense of calm restored around them, he heard the silent
sounds of a rough step and then felt the head of Trinity lay on
his shoulders. Instinctively, his hand went to the back of her
head and he held her. The way her body was tensed he could tell
something, something deep within her was gone. Though not a
super sensory person by any means, he could tell that few things
still thrived within the area as far as the animal kingdom was
concerned. Rain still fell, but the animals that once sat in the
trees or trotted across the ground had made haste in getting
away from the blast zone. The birds painted the sky black as
they quickly flew away, the always silent rabbits had forged
deeper into the woods searching for a safety that secured their
       life.
What was left of his shirt was grabbed and wept into - Trinity
had begun to cry. Kaige's eyes closed and his body seemed to
relax. He held the woman close and remained quiet as the woman
wept into his shoulder. Why was she crying? Was it because of
the damage on his skin, the deep cuts and bruises that now
danced across the various affected areas of the tattooed male.
His strength was slowly failing him and it took all he had to
stand up despite the blood that was sinking from his skin. True,
as it were, that the cuts were beginning to slow down - the
blood coming a little less slower, but still so many cuts had
       taken effect.
The felines had came around the bend, but were back behind
Kaige. He could feel Tigris frantically searching his mind for
some conformation that he was okay, that everything was fine.
She sought to step closer, but Kaige willed her to stay away -
stay back. He was fine. He assured her of this many times before
the female big cat finally accepted it.
He felt Trinity pulling away and he loosened his hold, he wasn't
afraid that she would run away - he was afraid that he would
never find her again. His eyes opened as she stepped away and
towards the darkness that seemed too unnatural in the
environment. They had to be hers. His eyes opened and closed,
his body seemingly staggering as the woman tended to the shadows
that were so often with her. He couldn't make out what she said,
but he wasn't really paying attention. His eyes were on her, but
his mind was focusing on relieving the pain that lined his body.
Cloud filled eyes went to his skin, his tattoos sported deep
gashes that cut through the intricate design work. He chuckled
to himself, and mentally noted he would have felt worse if the
tattoos were the source of his abilities.
Trinity finally turned back to him, the gold in her eyes gone
and replaced by the luminscent blue that he had fallen in love
with. His eyes went over her beautiful red hair and her pale
       skin.
“I think I’m the one that owns an apology this time..”
Kaige began to chuckle as the woman mentioned an apology. He
removed the rest of his shirt and revealed the scratches that
lined his stomach and chest. "Please, don't. I knew what I was
doing and had already accepted the consequences of it. But I
must say, those shadows have gotten quite hungry since I've been
       gone."
For a moment, Kaige blacked out - but that was all it took. The
world seemed to become, if just for a moment, entrenched in a
cartoon. Things seemed to sway unnaturally, before suddenly
becoming rigid in the real world. His eyes opened and he could
see Trinity standing across from him. He let out a small smile,
       "Hey, Trinity.. I came back.
Despite how his body felt, he began walking away from the woman
and towards the boulder. He needed to sit down and rest - to let
himself recuperate.. Tigris seemed to quietly assess the
situation and took a step forward, but the black paw of Dalia
stopped him. Kaige moved to the boulder and sat down, before
looking back towards Trinity who had kept her distance.
"I can see it in your eyes, sweetheart. Don't worry, I'm not
going anywhere for a long... long time."
He smiled and reached out towards Trinity, his hand beckoning
her to come closer. He hoped that she would come closer and not
run away. He didn't have the energy to chase her at the moment.
He was getting harder to see; his smile was wavering and he was
visibly tired. His chest heaved with each breath he took.
       "Come here, let's catch up."
His eyes closed and he collapsed back on the boulder.
This darkness didn't hurt. He was just a little tired, he
promised himself - just a little.

       Re: Reunited: The Imaginist's Shadows.
By: Brina Date: August 9, 2013, 8:48 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Trinity frowned and stared at the man, his normally light eyes
had gone hazy and unfocused. He looked especially pale as well
like he were about to be ill. Yet he still joked? He head cocked
to one side though she took a few uncertain steps towards him
just as she saw Tigris do from the side of her vision. As he
pulled his shirt off she stopped in her tracks trying to make a
conscious effort not to stare at the beautiful man. What was it
about him?! Trinity used to live in a community were nudity was
an acceptable way to walk around if wanted, yet the minute Kaige
took his shirt off she could feel her cheeks redden.
Shame crashed down on her though as she realized how weak he was
feeling. How he stumbled back against the boulder, his eyes half
closed before he mumbled to her to come over. He probably
thought it was the numerous amounts of cuts from the shadows,
but Trinity knew that her shadows didn’t simply cut. When they
attacked they tried to kill. “Dalia, please go back and play
with Tigris. Everything will be okay.” She focused the last
sentence towards the large saber tooth, casting the animal a
quick glance before hurrying over to the man.
“You say we are going to catch up and then you pass out on me..”
She muttered as she sat besides the man, crossing her legs and
lifting his hand up into her lap. “Some date you are.” She
attempted to joke, rubbing her eyes to smear away the dampness
left from her tears. Then she leaned over to inspect the cuts.
Eyes narrowing she frowned as she saw small amounts of his flesh
moving like a worm beneath his skin. This was exactly what she
was looking for. While Kaige had been gone, Trinity had not
simply been sitting around moping. Instead she had taken her
anger out on her training and, well, her meals. The shadows
would attack an animal much like they would Kaige causing the
creature as much pain as possible and then they would disappear
giving the creature a false feeling of hope. Yet what it didn’t
know what that the darkness had left small poisonous portions of
       darkness in the creature.
The only body that the darkness was compatible with was that of
Trinity and Bree. If the shadows were to go into any other body,
the victim’s body would reject the new substance. In its fight
to try and kick the new substance out the victim would soon grow
feverish, light-headed, and even faint. Yet like a worm the
juvenile darkness would make its way towards the victims heart
where it would constrict until the animal went into cardiac
arrest and would eventually pass away. It was a game to Trinity,
a way to get out her anger, but now seeing it working on the man
she loved worried her greatly. She had never tried to reverse
       the process before.
“Come out.” She whispered quietly though these shadows did not
listen to her. They were technically not part of the intelligent
life that lived within her. More like its poisonous waste
concoction and it only had one goal: kill. The life expectancy
of one that had these little poison demons in them was about an
hour to an hour and a half at most. Yet as time went on the body
would grow more and more restless such as convulsions,
hallucinations. Trinity didn’t think that she could bear to see
Kaige go through that. Is this who he really wanted? A sadistic
       monster like her?
Trinity bit the bottom of his lip trying to push back the sudden
emotions. She had to focus on Kaige right now. Suddenly, a
thought came to her. She wasn’t sure it would work, but she
would certainly try. Placing her hands over the cuts she pushed
her shadows into his skin. The pain was sure to be excruitiating
for she still remembered the first time that the shadows had
entered her and how she had eventually passed out. It was for
this reason that she was glad Kaige was unconscious. Trinity
trusted her darkness though and they understood strictly not to
do anymore ill will upon this man. Once inside his body they
quickly shot through the blood stream to catch up with their
minions and captured them, bringing them back to the surface
until they were pulled from his skin. The cuts would bleed again
just a small amount, though it was not dangerous.
Picking up one of these evil creatures Trinity frowned at the
pure leech-likeness of it. It simply looks like a tiny damp
elastic snake. Once placed on the ground the small creature
quickly shriveled up and died with a soft high pitched cry.
Trinity had to remind herself that the creature did not really
have a mind of her own; it was a creation of her own darkness.
Sighing and turning back to Kaige she began working on the many
cuts that covered his body. Some of them were empty on the
worms, but she made sure just in case.
After about half an hour she finished the procedure, with a
small disgusting pile of the small shriveled demons on the grass
beside the boulder. Trinity decided to dispose of them later, or
maybe she would keep them there. It didn’t really matter either
way. She was glad to see the fever that had began to light his
skin had faded and his once tensed face had relaxed. Color had
began to return to his features. So while she waited for him to
awaken, she curled up beside him in a very catlike way, pulling
her knees up to her chest. She leaned her head against his
shoulder and placed her hand above his heart. Eyes closing she
kept her senses aware for when he would awaken. They would have
to keep his movement minimal for the shadows pushing into his
body was bound to make his cuts very sore. He was tough though.
Trinity dozed off for what she would guess was an hour or two.
It was change in heartbeat and breathing that awakened her and
informed her that he would be waking soon. Quickly she sat up
and ran her fingers through her hair in a small attempt to tidy
up. As his eyes slitted opened she grinned brightly at him and
she was sure that if she had a tail she would be wagging it. She
had saved him! And he would be fine! And here he was again!
“Good morning, sunshine.” She joked excited to see him.

Okay, so maybe he was wrong.
       ....
This darkness did hurt, it felt as though his whole body were
swimming in a ocean of pain. It was worth it though, he
thought, as his consciousness swam through the darkness, seeking
out the body that had been lost therein. The fact he could see
confused him for a moment, due to the fact that this place was
cold and dark, lifeless, but he remembered a place Joseph had
forced him to go. The Mental Plane, where he found his Mind
Ribbon. It was dark there too, but when he was there he could
see all the ribbons that floated around the area, hoping to find
       their owner.
Hey, that was an idea, wasn't it!
Maybe his Mind Ribbon could connect him to his body - show him
the way home. If he had a body at the moment, his eyes would
have closed and he would have sought to bring out the Ribbon.
Soon his eyes opened and snaked around him was a vivid white
ribbon with cartoon characters waving at him, and cartoon
writing sliding across the silky material. He tilted his head,
and up nodded his head, sending the Ribbon extending off into
the distance. He felt it come to a stop, and then begin to
       retract from his end.
"May as well hold on for the ride," he thought.
Half an hour later, he had found his body, floating aimlessly in
the sea of darkness. Something was odd about it, it seemed to
have been positioned. Trinity must have come to him instead of
running away. He smiled softly, and touched his body, and the
slow process of reintegrating himself into his own flesh began.
He didn't know how long it would take, so he settled in for the
       long haul.
       "I wonder what's on channel 37.
       “Good morning, sunshine.”
A voice broke through the darkness, as did several other sounds
he hadn't heard during this escapade. It sounded as though
something were living around him now, a fast evolutionary gain,
if you asked him. His eyes began to open and instinctively
towards the human voice he heard, and after a moment, his eyes
adjusted and a very painful smile crossed his face. "Did I
really sleep that long, pudding?" He chuckled, but very portion
of his body ached with the movement. Unlike his father, Dark,
and the majority of his family members, he was not suited for
battles and thus his body felt pain in very much the same way
others did - unless, of course, he was in his cartoon world.
Kaige moved to sit up, but the pain was too much to bare so he
opted on staying on his back for the time being.
"You know, I think I'll just stay like this for now. Hurts a bit
       to move."
He laughed again and let his eyes wander over the gorgeous body
of Trinity, before finally stopping on her face. "I am glad you
didn't run away, I feel like I owe you thanks for something, so
thank you." His eyes moved around and he could see Tigris and
Dalia resting in the trees above them, Tigris being the easily
seen one, as Dalia was still as black as night. The rain had
slowed, but still peppered his face. He'd be sick later, but
ultimately, he was sure he could find a way to heal himself. He
nuzzled more into Trinity, and smiled against her skin.
"How have you been, sugar? He asked without looking up, he
missed the woman very much. He wasn't aware of the large pile of
odd leech shadows on the ground. "You've gotten much stronger
since I've been away, I'd hate to be someone you actually hated,
love." He kissed her shoulder softly, and returned his head to
       her body.
The pain was subsiding, but very slowly, he didn't know when
he'd be able to move around - even just a little bit - again
without feeling like his body was being split open by hundreds
of tiny blades. Suddenly, he felt a very large tongue sliding
across his back. Tigris had come down from the tree and began
tending to his wounds, hoping that her saliva would aid in the
process. Kaige didn't know if Sabertooth Tiger spit had such
properties, but it couldn't hurt to try.

“Pudding?” Her nose crinkled a bit at the endearing term as she
thought about the gooey substance that man humans loved. Trinity
herself was not a big fan of it however and felt that its
texture was very strange on her mouth. She was used to eating
meat, like a true carnivore..and the only time that she had
really broken that was on her first date with Kaige in the
coffee shop. Finally she shrugged a bit and glanced towards the
forest. “A few hours. I didn’t really know how long it would
take some I’m a bit surprised you’re awake so quickly.” A small
chuckle escaped her lips as she rubbed the back of her neck with
embarrassment knowing that this was all of her fault because she
hadn’t quite mastered how to control her shadows fully. ‘Unlike
my mother who is just perfect’ the bitter thought bit at her
mind before squirming back into the poisonous depths of her
       brain.
She couldn’t help but laugh again as he got up before laying
right back down. It wasn’t her fault that a part of her was a
cruel person. Though her cheeks did redden considerably.
“Yeah..I wouldn’t move for a bit..” She muttered as her cheeks
continued to flush and the color stretched to her neck. She
remembered the first time that the shadows would jump in and out
her body when she was just a child. It was excruciating and it
took years to get used to. Though Kaige had not had that many
shadows enter his body, there were enough to take down about
twenty elephants easily and for that she was surprised that he
seemed to be healing so quickly.
“Don’t thank me.” Every trace of a smile left her face
immediately as she glanced away from him and towards the
darkness of the forest once more. She enjoyed the soft patter of
rain around them; it helped her think and provided her with a
distraction from the all too distracting man beside her. She
couldn’t help the way her heart twisted every time he touched
her or the way her skin felt as though it were on fire every
time he looked at her. And yet did she really forgive him? If
she were to be honest she would have to say no. She was not weak
like her mother, excepting a man back into her life every time
they disappeared for a ridiculous amount of time. Though she
loved Kaige she worried that she was becoming like her mother if
she accepted him back into her life.
Maybe she should leave now while he wouldn’t be able to get up
       and track her. But she couldn’t leave him in this condition;
practically helpless if not for Tigris. It was obvious that she
loved him, but did she hate her mother so much that she would
give up the one man that would probably ever love her back? She
       had not decided yet.
“I’ve been..okay” Lie. It was a lie and she knew that he would
know but she wasn’t prepared to tell him her true feelings yet
for she still didn’t know her true feelings. “I guess anger is a
motivator for me.” She mumbled with a hint of ice to her tone
though she did not intend it. Or maybe deep down she did.
Trinity sighed softly as he kissed her shoulder though she
avoided eye contact with him and as Dalia came down with Tigris,
she turned her attention to the panther running her fingers
along the soft fur of the animal which induced heartwarming
purrs to rattle from the creature’s throat.
