Re: The Kitchen/Dining Room

Heat rose to her cheeks as Aoife nodded her head. She had no
objections to them going to her room, but she had to admit she
was a bit nervous for him to be in her room. It seemed like it
would be too plain for Jasper’s taste, but it was his decision
to go to her room so he would have to suffer. Her lips twitched
into a small smile at the thought, though her attention was soon
whisked away onto Jasper’s question. “Hmm..” Aoife tapped a
finger on her lower lip as she thought, eyes turning up to look
at the ceiling. Coming to the conclusion that she didn’t know
she shrugged her shoulders and made her way to the door behind
him, slipping past and leading the way down the hallway. “You’ll
have to look see.”
(Continued in my room.)

Sun shined through the open windows, light reflecting off of the
white walls. The first thing Aoife did was curse, wrinkling her
nose with disgust. She had fallen asleep, thus losing the bet
with Jasper, and now she had to make him breakfast. With a groan
she buried her face into her pillow, wishing the sun to stop
being so bright. After thirty minutes of pitying herself Aoife
got the will go get up; flinging her legs over the side of the
low-rising bed with an animalistic growl. She raised her arms
above her head; yawning as she arched her back to stretch her
muscles, causing the bottom of her tank top to rise and expose
the tanned skin of her toned tummy. A look outside told her it
was still early in the day, and she hoped Jasper hadn’t woke yet
so she could bring him breakfast in bed… Or would that be too
weird?
Her face scrunched cutely as she stood up from her bed, heading
over to her suitcase to take out a fresh pair of clothes and her
body washes so she could take a shower. The one thing she didn’t
like was that they all had to share a bathroom. Hopefully no one
was there so she could get it all to herself. Aoife scurried out
of her room and into the bathroom, claiming the shower and
turning the hot water on.
Once she got out she slipped into her clean clothes; a plain
green v-neck that matched the subtle green in her eyes, and yet
another pair of athletic shorts with her feet bare once again.
She just ran a brush through her hair before making her way back
to her room with her dirty clothes, tossing them in the same
corner she tossed her clothes in from yesterday. A quick glance
around her room told her that that corner was the only ‘dirty’
spot in her room, but she was too lazy to clean in. During that
look about she also noticed the two books placed neatly on top
of the other stacks; the two books Jasper and she were reading
last night.
After a second of hesitation she grabbed the book and made her
way to the kitchen. She planned on lending the book to Jasper
until he finished it. While she waited for him to wake up, she
would make him breakfast; a simple spread of pancakes and fruit.

The closer Jasper got to the kitchen, the stronger the smell of
pancakes became. The part of him that wished he had fallen
asleep before her and lost the bet was getting stronger and
stronger. First the drama that took place after she went to
sleep, then the fact that she was making pancakes, the ONE
breakfast food he knew he could have made perfectly. "I guess
they knew what they were talking about when they said 'early to
bed, early to rise.' The man teased as he walked into the
kitchen, winking a multicolored eye at Aoife. She was certainly
a sight for sore eyes. In fact, the hints of aqua in his eyes
became more prominent the moment he lay eyes on her.

She had just flipped a pancake when Jasper walked into the
kitchen, causing her to look away from what she was doing. Her
mouth opened to say something witty in return to him comment,
but realizing what she had done caused her to whip her head back
to the griddle. A pancake laid half on and half off the griddle,
straddling the sharp edge that was almost successful in cutting
the cake in half. Flicking it off and into the garbage, Aoife
turned her glaring green eyes on Jasper. “Look what you made me
do!” She said, pointing the spatula at him accusingly. Despite
glaring, there was a twinkle of amusement in her eyes and a red
color tinting the apex of her cheeks, and soon her lips couldn’t
hold back a bright smile.
Taking the cooked pancakes off of the griddle and pouring a few
more smaller ones onto it to cook, Aoife turned around and
rested her hip on the counter, offering the plate to Jasper. “Is
there something going on today? Or are you all dressed up for
me?” She teased, though the pink on her cheeks got hotter as she
giggled softly. “We didn’t really specify this as our first
date, but if it is I give you my deepest apologies for being so
underdressed.”

Jasper laughed aloud as Aoife threw the pancake away, secretly
wishing she had kept it. it was still perfectly edible. "Don't
blame me!" he rebutted. "Maybe your cooking skills just aren't
all you thought they were!" He walked over and gave the woman a
hug. He didn't know why he had hugged her, but after everything
he had been through, it was satisfying being in her presence
again.
Jasper poured syrup over his pancakes and took a seat, awaiting
the woman to join him. "Maybe I just enjoy looking good." He
said, knowing that this was, for him, normal attire. It was cute
how she could never keep the color out of her cheeks. A quiet
chuckle escaped his lips as she asked about this being a date,
and he shook his head. "No, I didn't think it was a date. You
look more than fine though." He understood the self
consciousness that she had expressed earlier. She had the
features of a woman you may meet in the mall, not on the red
carpet. But that was a part of her charm. She appeared real, not
like a product of Hollywood. He finished chewing a mouthful of
pancakes before teasing the woman once more. "So... You want a
'first date' eh?"

Aoife snorted and rolled her eyes. “Says the guy who can barely
cook toast.” She teased back, sticking her tongue out at him
before turning around to tend to her pancakes; flipping them
over, being sure to pay close attention so she didn’t mess them
up. She turned around again and was immediately hugged by
Jasper. Her face contorted into one of confusion and her arms
robotically wrapped around him to hug him back. After a few
seconds her rigid body relaxed into the warmth of Jasper’s, her
arms giving him a quick reassuring squeeze before they both
pulled away.
“You seem tired,” She commented, stretching up on her tiptoes to
get another plate for her pancakes. The pancakes were carefully
flipped onto the plate, and Aoife sat down next to him, pouring
a bit of syrup over the steaming cakes. She nodded her head.
“You definitely seem like the type to be concerned about your
looks.” A giggle indicated that she was just joking, but she
still rolled her eyes at him. Aoife shrugged at his comment
about her appearance. “I don’t even think I own a dress to dress
up in,” She wrinkled her nose, plopping a piece of pancake into
her mouth. Any dress she’s worn in a movie was solely picked out
by her crew. Dresses always looked good on her and the crew
insisted she take them as ‘souvenirs’, but Aoife always
declined. When would she ever wear a dress? She chewed
thoughtfully as she thought about her wardrobe; it consisted of
jeans, shorts, plain shirts and sweaters. The most expensive
things she wore were probably her underwear, which were from
Victoria’s Secret.
At the mention of a first date, Aoife’s cheeks reddened again.
“I was only joking.” She said, reaching over to take his hat and
put it on her head, modeling it off. “I think I pull this hat
off better than you,” The pink of her tongue parted her lips as
she teased, hoping to distract him from teasing her.

"Yeah, my night wasn't much fun after you went to sleep." Jasper
confessed when Aoife told him that he looked tired. He wondered
how much sleep he had actually gotten, though it was too late to
worry about such things now. "Nothing wrong with looking nice."
He rebutted with a smile. When the woman stated that she didn't
own any dresses, a single question came to mind. "So what do you
wear to award shows when you're nominated?" He was sure she had
been nominated for at least two Emmy Awards, and if his memory
served correctly, she won one of them. But he couldn't remember
seeing what she had worn. Or did she even go?
When the woman said she was joking about a first date, a swirl
of pink became more prominent in the man's eye. "That's a
shame..." He said, faking his best sad voice. "I thought it was
a good idea too..." He immediately thought about things she
would enjoy doing for a date. There was one thing he KNEW she
would hate; Shopping. But for now he just took another bite of
his pancakes. "I could get used to this." He said happily. "Any
other bets you want to make?"

A brow rose skeptically and her mouth opened to question him,
but she quickly closed it. It wasn’t any of her business to know
what he did after she fell asleep. Instead she directed her
attention to his next question, about what she wore to award
shows. The Emmy she won sat proudly on her ‘award shelf’ with
little awards she won when she was younger. Aoife shook her
head, but her face gave away the pride she was feeling just by
thinking about her award. “I never went, but I did have to film
a thank you video. I wore something similar to what I’m wearing
now.” She admitted sheepishly, looking down at her food to cut
off another piece and place it delicately in her mouth.
At his mention of a first date, Aoife looked up at him in time
to see the pink swirl through his eyes. “You make it seem like
you actually want to date, and with me of all people. Whatever
you did last night is definitely making you crazy. Did you
drink?” She gave him a pointed look, though couldn’t hide the
sadness from her eyes. Ever since her brother fell apart, Aoife
hated drinking. It caused her so much pain. She forced herself
to smile at Jasper, though it didn’t reach her eyes. “I’m sure
you would.” She said with another roll of her eyes, tilting her
head down so he couldn’t see her face from under the hat.

Jasper continued to eat as Aoife explained how she recieved her
award. It was a funny story actually, but he didn't laugh.
"What's wrong with wanting a date?" He asked, a bit confused. "I
mean, I had one drink, but that has nothing to do with it. Maybe
I just like you." his phone vibrated as the words left his lips,
and he pulled it out to read the text. A frustrated sigh escaped
his lips as he read it. How did this chick even get his number?
It was a little known fact that Jasper had a Masters Degree in
Psychology. There were many terms that could be used to describe
Kegan, and he tried not to hold it against her. but dammit she
was a pain in the ass! His eyes turned blood red as his fingers
rapidly flew acros his phone in response. "You're the one who
pulled ME in! Don't try to shift responsibility! Everything
that's happend is the result of YOUR decisions..." Then he
quickly deleted the message instead of pressing send. The only
thing that would happen if he texted her back would be an
exhausting back and forward. Even if his statement was true; SHE
decided to kiss him. SHE decided she wanted to have sex. He
never pushed himself onto her, hit on her, or anything! Jasper
just wanted to be free of the whole situation.
"You're doing it again." He told Aoife. That thing she did where
her face clearly didn't match what she was feeling. "What's
wrong?" He found it funny that she hid behind the brim of the
hat. That was the specific reason why he bought it; To hide the
ever shifting colors in his eyes, which had returned to the soft
blue and pink that they tended to hold around her. It had even
been incorporated into his role as Renegade. "A fake smile
really doesn't suit you."

Aoife shook her head. “Nothing wrong with wanting a date, just
with who you want it with,” She murmured, not making eye contact
with him as her cheeks heated up again. It was weird to her
that any guy would want to date her for it never happened
before. Why would Jasper, of all people, want to like her that
way? Especially when there were prettier girls in the house.
Those other girls were models – extremely beautiful – and Aoife
was plain. However, she had to admit it was exciting. There was
something deep down inside her that had always yearned to be
wanted, and now that it’s had a taste she wasn’t sure if it
would ever get enough.
Jasper’s phone vibrated and he pulled it out. Aoife looked at
him curiously, biting her lip as if it would hold back the urge
to read over her shoulder. Instead she looked anywhere but his
phone, though she mainly looked at his face to see his reaction.
Crimson red tainted the warm pink of his eyes. Anger. That was
the only thing Aoife could associate with such a dark color.
What was making him angry, or irritated at the least?
Instinctively she placed her hand on his bicep, giving it a
reassuring squeeze. Whatever was happening with him was really
bugging him, and she at least wanted to let him know she was
there if he ever wanted to talk about it. She wouldn’t pry,
rather just listen if he decided to open up.
An annoyed sigh left her lips. How could he read her so easily?
Her face scrunched up cutely and she narrowed her eyes playfully
at him, shoving a big bite of pancake into her mouth to delay
her from responding. It wasn’t something she really wanted to
talk about, but there was this… pull that made her want to tell
Jasper. When she finally did swallow her bite she whisked her
plate away and set it on another counter, no longer in the mood
to eat. As a diversion, she grabbed the book he had been reading
the night before and slide it over to him, offering him a small
smile that lit a dim light in her eyes. “Here. Keep it until
you’re done.”
