That blush it was such a good thing to see, especially knowing
that he still had that affect on him."Well I won't question you,
you know your stomach more than I do."He points to his own
stomach and chuckles."I have no right to complain." Though the
concern in your voice made feel bad."Well I am in no hurry to
leave, I can stay as long as you like. You should know that you
are the only reason I would stay anywhere." Feeling your hand on
his chest sent chill bumps over his skin. He grabs your hand and
raises it pulling your body against his own then he wraps his
arms around you speaking softly against your ear."Is this real
enough for you Jak? I am really here, I am sorry for causing you
doubt." He brushes his hand against your cheek looking into your
eyes."Your eyes seem much softer than usual they are nice to get
lost in, even if for a moment." He buries his nose in your hair
and breathes in."So the villagers good to you? And Kyuu he is
doing okay?" He didn't want to let Jak go, it felt good to have
him in his arms again, but he didn't want to keep him from his
work."You sure you can't use some help? Sooner you get finished,
the sooner we might be able to have some tea?" He hesitantly
lets you go and letting you think about his suggestion.

Jak nodded a little as Beloved accepted his answer about eating.
He was glad he didn't question further, he didn't want to know
what sort of scolding he'd get for not eating plenty simply to
avoid other people. A smile crossed his lips hearing Beloved
would stay for him, though he was reminded of his earlier
decision. He had been planning to leave this village within the
next few days, maybe Beloved would come with him? But that was a
conversation for later, after they had gotten reacquainted.
Feeling his body being pulled close, Jak let out a squeak and
felt a chill run down his spine as he heard the soft voice
against his ear. It was so strange to be in Beloved arms once
more, to hear his voice so close that he could feel his breath,
to have his body pressed against his own... He shuddered lightly
and as he felt Beloved's nose in his hair, he let his head rest
forward upon his chest. "They're good to me. I stay with a
little family on the far side of the village, they took me in a
couple of years ago and looked after me. And Ryuu is fine, he's
made a den out across the moors, where no one can find him."
Feeling Beloved's arms slip from around him, he straightened up
and looked to the torches on the ground. Considering it for a
moment, he nodded. "Alright, I suppose if we both help we can
get it done quicker." He gathered the torches and passed the
matches on to Beloved. "I'll set them in the ground, and then
you can light them."

It was good to know he could take care of himself, even more so
that a family was kind enough to take him in."Jak that's great
to hear, I am glad that you are able to win people's hearts over
just as you always have, it's that charisma you have going for
you, you just draw people to you." He would take the matches
and walk beside you."Alright I will light them, any particular
reason for putting them up? I mean is this some sort of defense
or something?" He was a little curious about this place, and he
wanted to get to know everyone. Though now he just wanted to go
anywhere Jak went, he wanted to be in his life again and
hopefully over time Jak would let him in again."Do you think
Kyuu would like me? It's been a while since I have seen your
dragon, I don't want to be on the lunch menu."He chuckled half
joking but partially serious. "Jakobi I know it's a lot to ask
but do you think the villagers will let me stay here as long as
you are here?" As you put the torches up I slight them
constantly keeping up with you so that I do not fall behind.

Jak nodded a little and smiled as Beloved spoke, a light blush
crossing his cheeks once more. "I don't know why, I mean, I
barely talk to anyone anymore." He began to walk, setting
torches down and waiting for Beloved to light them before moving
to place the next. The village wasn't large, so it wouldn't take
them too long to get the whole way around. "It's tradition. See
the two moons in the sky?" He turned his gaze upwards and
pointed to the moons that appeared to be almost touching. "The
people here believe that there are spirits living in the moons,
which is why they shine so brightly. And if the two meet and
find each other, they'll fall in love and leave to spend
eternity together instead of being so far apart until they cross
paths again next year. If they leave, the moons will die and
fade away. So the people put up torches and make as much light
as they can, so that the spirits look down here instead of at
each other, as a distraction. It's quite sad really, if it's
true. It must be lonely to be a moon." He frowned slightly and
then shook his head to shake away the thought. "I'm sure he
would! He might not recognize you at first, but he'll remember
you. As for the villagers, they might be a little wary of you at
first, but once they see you're with me, they'll warm up to
you." Jak smiled and then paused as he spotted the first torch
nearby. "It looks like we're about done here."

He covers his mouth to hide the expression on his face."You know
it seems everywhere you go people have a way of adapting to
their fate, that they will someday die. So they make some story
that takes away their fear of it. It's amazing but
disheartening, for someone like me there is nothing after I die
and there is no beautiful story to take the fear away." He
continues to light each torch you set up. His stomach gave a
little growl, but he had to stifle his hunger so as to be
accepted here. "Oh I hope that Kyuu would, he is a nice dragon,
at least the memories of the last time I seen him." When hearing
about the people he leans close to your ear and whispers."Well
maybe we should keep the fact I am a vampire secret for now."He
chuckles and sees we are near the first torch."Yes it would seem
so, I can't wait to meet your friends."

Jak nodded his head a little in agreement, though he couldn't
help but frown when Beloved spoke about what awaited him after
death. "Well then, we'll just have to make sure you don't die."
He looked up at him with a stubborn pout, though it soon faded
to a smile. Hearing the growl of his stomach, Jakobi tilted his
head slightly. "Hungry? The villagers prepared a feast for
tonight in the main hall, we can stop by and get something to
eat when it's time to sit down. As for Ryuu, he's still nice I
suppose, but he's turned a little bitter lately. I think he's
restless, being in the same place for so long. I was planning on
leaving soon, I don't like leaving him up in that cave all the
time." As Beloved whispered in his ear, Jak nodded again. "I
agree, that sounds like a good idea." He gave a small giggle and
then began to make his way back into the village. "I'll
introduce you to the people I stay with, some of them might be
busy putting up more torches though." He walked through to the
main hall and set the torches down outside with the rest of the
spares, then lead Beloved to one of the houses further along the
dirt path. The door was wide open and a man was standing on a
ladder, adjusting some unlit torches on the roof. "That's Gordo,
he was the first person I met when I came here. He was the one
who suggested I stay here with him."
