The Differences in a Human World
By: Emerson Date: May 14, 2013, 6:42 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Emerson glanced down at the skin of her hip for a moment. The
angel wing formed birthmark glowed back up at her. Why was she
glowing so much? She lifted her eyes and covered it back up with
her loose tee and crossed her arms loosely over her chest. The
wind was blowing lazily over the plains. The high grass kissed
her calves as she walked by. It leaned toward her as if it was
reaching for nutrients from the sun. She was their source and it
was hers. The light source in the sky touched her sun-kissed
skin. Her freckles dotted over her cheeks as they were slightly
perked up with the small smile that she had on her face. Nature
was her place, but she could not find herself within her element
very often when she lived in the city. Her eyes closed for a
moment as she let her arms unfold from her chest and she spread
them out. Her eyes glowed emerald, leaves growing around the
pupil as the nature sprung around her. A touch of yellow began
to overcome the leaves as the air element swung around her,
swinging her hair all around her face. She leaned her head back
for a moment until she was feeling the heat on her skin from the
fire element taking over. Her anger from not being able to be in
her element was finally being released. She radiated heat for a
slight moment and her skin almost looked on fire before a
coolness surrounded the secret meadow. Dew touched over her skin
and the plant life around her for a moment as the water swirled
her pupils.
Opening them, the meadow calmed for a moment and it went back to
normal as she settled within her place. She took in a deep
breath for a moment and waited for a few minutes until she
glanced down at her phone, noticing the time. She let out a
grunt in frustration and turned away from her secret meadow and
exited the way she entered. She clenched her fists together as
she picked up her feet, trying to miss all of the uprooted
roots. Her sneaker covered feet padded against the slightly wet
ground. Her muscles tightened and loosened as she ran until she
was outside the city limits. Beyond the horizon, she could see
the skyscrapers and hear the sounds of a normal city: honking,
ambulances, and endless padding of feet. She took it in for a
moment before she pulled the keys to her old Chevy pickup.
Climbing into the front seat, she pumped the gas before she
started it up without much else effort. As the sun was setting
over the horizon behind the city, she could feel the relief that
she felt back in the meadow slip away from her limbs. She felt
the stress of school, work, and home come back on. She leaned
heavily against the seat and squeezed the steering wheel.
It was a Friday night, and she had to work. Pressing her lips
together, she whispered to herself for a moment. "Of course, you
would be the girl with a date of taking care of flowers."
Gulping slightly, she knew that she liked her job, but sometimes
it got boring when there was no one to really hang out
with...People looked at her weird when she walked the grounds of
campus. She was the girl with the weird birthmarks and etchings
on her palm. No one actually wanted to get to know what she
was...What her roots actually were. They only looked on the
surface, noticing that she was weird. Parking her truck in the
back, she walked to the front and slipped in the door, letting
the emerald glow again. Perhaps tonight could be a good night.
Until she could see the amounts of flowers on the table in the
back. She sighed heavily. "More arrangements need to be made.
You can work on them in the front since I will be going out."
Her manager, Wimberly, swirled around in a pink dress. Emerson
smiled at her. "You look beautiful as always. I'll hold the fort
down here." She said and practically pushed the woman out of the
door because if she didn't, the woman would soon start
arrangements and want to finish them, missing her date
completely. Emerson only laughed and leaned against the counter
as she began to cut the stems and set the flowers within the
vases before beginning the arrangement process.
Turning on music, she slipped into her own world, but secretly
wished someone would save her from it.

The man flicked on his helmet, his neck snapping as he pushed it
left then right in unison a total of six cracks. He shook his
head the helmet snug as he pushed the mirror like vizor down on
the front of the curved helmet. His eyes gleaming as he smirked
and walked up to his bike. A nice Kawasaki Ninja 650, jet black
with streaks of a dark green in tribal symbols along the body
and the letters K.O.D. etched into the back fender. He slipped
the key into the ignition and rolled his shoulders, pulling the
zipper up on his green leather jacket as he laughed. "Ride on
hard ball, fight time is on." He shook his head as he threw his
left foot over the seat and into place. Twisting the key as he
sat down and the bike ignited with pistons blazing and engine
roaring to life. His black sneakers and worn jeans fitting
nicely into the swing of his bike as he pushed the kickstand up
with his right heel and took control finally. His eye darting
back in forth as he lifted the bike up easily and took control
of the throttle and twisting it lightly to get started. The bike
jumping forward as he did so and lifting his legs to the side he
leaned forward finally and set out. The bike roared ever louder
as he twisted the throttle more, flicking his right foot up and
shifting into first, then second as he kicked out of the alley.
Turning into the one way as he looked back and forth at the
spots. The street practically empty besides the few cars that
were driving along with him. His foot flicked as his eyes
gleamed over again and he twisted the throttle again, this time
to it's limit. Now in third gear he was pushing 150 mph and he
was more than happy. The cars rushing past him and the streets
fading with a blur. His eyes seeing more clearly than ever as he
focused and shook looked around.
He was headed for a straight shot. As he was every night he was
going to the fights. He chuckled and smirked under his helmet
and he was again not bothered by the sirens blaring and yet they
still never seemed to go after him, no they had better things to
try and do. Like enact justice on the low leveled crime bosses
or the so called Gang members, all self proclaimed none the less
they were still criminals. He laughed and shook his head as he
kept on. Passing at least a good five dozen buildings and cars a
like. His eyes never lying as he let go of the throttle he
slowly pulled to the right lane again, heading down an alley way
and shaking his head as he pulled to a stop at the end. A
staircase, leading downward into a building at the end. No other
signs of life besides the small rat and even smaller gnats and
flies buzzing through the garbage along the walls. His eyes set
on one specific place as his gloved hands shut the bike off.
Twisting the key in the ignition and every sound shut down
immediately. The once roaring beast was now quiet, his foot
keeping him up as the bike leaned to the side and his foot
kicked the kickstand out. His helmet being pulled off and his
short black hair perfectly pushed down and matted how he didn't
care at all. His helmet was set on the opposite handlebar to
keep the balance and the key into his front left breast pocket
of his jacket as he laughed. Shaking his head and letting his
hair do what it did. "Time for the fun." He laughed and flicked
his hands outward from him and stepped down the stairs, quickly
pushing the door open and heading inside the building.
His eyes glanced through the darkness and spotted the next door.
His hands reaching out and making small punches in front of
himself as he laughed. "Showtime!" He exclaimed as he threw his
foot into the door and sent it bustling in. A loud banging
clanged through the area as he laughed and shook his head.
Looking around the dimly lit room of the entrance. A few men had
jumped from their seats and pulled guns as he tilted his head in
spite of him not caring. "Oh how cute, a few pea shooters..." He
shook his head and jumped at the right moment, straight forward
and jabbing the first man's hand sending his gun into his face
as he laughed kicking his right foot sideways and sending a
stool into the second man, knocking them both out instantly as
he laughed. 'That's two of them, only eighteen to go now.' He
spoke softly in his head as he brushed his jacket off with his
gloved hands. He shook his head again and slowly let his eyes
flutter around the red dim light catching everything. The men
weren't any sort of race in particular, no one was African, the
other an obvious Korean decent. And he squinted looking around
again finding the next door and pushing it open. Stepping
through quickly and into a room that seemed to be empty. The
light was in the center and he laughed, stepping into the more
than obvious trap. The lights finally flashing on and he
laughed. Seeing the final seventeen men standing around him, the
last and boss of them which was quite obvious sitting at a table
that lie ahead of him. The men standing around him all races and
sizes, but one thing in common. They all had melee weapons,
whether blunt like a small hand axe, nunchaku, or a blade small
as a knife or the size of a katana. The only thing that really
worried him was in fact how hard he would try to win.
He let out a sigh and shook his head. "This is so cliche I'm
gonna kick all of your asses with an honest to god smile on my
face, and then..." He trailed off looking up at the man in the
chair and laughed with a smile. "I'm gonna kick your fucking
face in!" With a growl he cracked his neck again and slowly
shook his arms out his feet tapping the ground and waiting, yet
he was pacing as a boxer would, but his hands were up in a
different way, one stretched the palm facing him the other
halfway out and the back of his hand facing out. "Let's get this
done with already, I have places to go..." He bolted forward
again, watching all the men circle his palm catching a man in
the face by surprise and sending him backwards onto his back,
his left foot kicking up into another man's stomach as he spun
around and brought his foot into the man's cheek sending him
sprawling to the floor. "Four." Is all he said before jumping up
and catching another man, who had been running with a knife, in
the chin with his toe, sending him on his back again, landing
and throwing an elbow into the sixth's man's nose forcing him
backward before grabbing his head and kicking his foot out from
under him and throwing him into the next two who approached.
"Eight... you have twelve more times before it's your turn." He
looked at the man again before wincing as he felt the sting of a
hit to his back, a nunchaku had hit him square in the back, the
man who had thrown it carrying a katana in one hand and a smirk
as it was the first hit on him. "Oh boy... did you make a
mistake." He glared at the man and shook his head.
He sighed and held his head before finally rolling his neck.
"Fuck this, I'm done pissing about." Without a second gone by
the final men fell all backwards and rolling on the floor their
weapons all snapped and scattered throughout the room. His head
tilted as he finally looked at the man in the chair, both
astonished and scared as he was pale as a ghost and pushed as
far back in his chair as he could. Clutching himself as the
other man approached. Kevin growled and his eye twitched. His
irritation level peaking as he shook his head. "I told you once,
twice, and three times. Not to fucking bail on me, you will pay
somehow. I guarantee that much." With a swift kick he sent the
man flying, his chair shattering against the wall and the man's
back as Kevin shook his head. "I knew I shouldn't have trusted
you shits to make money for me. You're all fired if you live
anyway." With a sigh he rolled his eyes and quickly grabbed the
wallets of all the men, pocketing the money that had been taken
from him in the first place. Sliding it all into his coat pocket
he sighed. "I'm done with impudent humans now." He rolled his
eyes as he quickly walked through every room and pulling the
first door closed behind him. His eyes glazing over as the
building erupted in flames and a loud booming sound going off
with the sound of a bomb. He walked up the stairs calmly put his
key in the ignition after grabbing it and sliding it back in.
The pistons erupting again and the bike growling lowly as he
shifted up and slid his helmet on again. Twisting the throttle
again as he spun the bike around his foot planted as he lifted
it up and set off into the street again. This time heading the
same direction but pulling an immediate right and not going far,
but straight up the street and towards the once place that
seemed to calm him down. His bike slowly slid to a halt as he
stopped in the small parking spot left. Clicking his bike down
again and putting the key back.
Flicking his helmet off but keeping it under his arm, his eyes
trailing up and down the building as he smiled. "Finally..." He
sighed in relief and set into the building. The door ringing
open as the small bell chimed with his entrance. He wore a wide
smile and grinned at the greeter who seemed deeply in work as he
nodded. "Evening, hope I'm not a bother, I'm just here to relax
and smell the flowers, as it's called." His tall figure barely
made a sound, his feet seeming lighter than expected. His hair
matted and black as his sneakers. His build was muscular and
standing at a tall 6' even. He was seemingly nice for what would
be considered a giant to anyone shorter really. He chuckled
again as he slowly set his helmet next to the counter and lifted
up a red rose from the vase closest to him putting his nose to
the flower and closing his eyes. His small inhale letting the
smell of pollen, and essence flow into his system as he relaxed
and slid the rose back into the vase he smiled again and nodded.
"It's a lovely evening tonight, given the situation don't you
think?" His green eyes gazed at the woman and his question
seemed to be open as he smiled, the whole time his eyes locked
on hers and never skipping a beat he kept the contact of his
eyes on hers. His smile never fading and yet he seem more
content now than he had when he first arrived but, he was still
speaking as if they had known one another longer than the short
while they had even seen each other.

Emerson tilted her hips to the music as she cut the stems of the
many different kinds of flowers. She wasn't sure of what
inspiration she was going to take up next. The arrangements each
had to have a different way about them. They each had to be
unique in their own way. She bit her lip slightly as she studied
the colors, seeing the styles of flowers, and then settled on
the difference of leaves. This was going to be based around what
made up the plant. What is pushing for life of the nature
surrounding her. Her fingers danced over the different stem
types, sure not to stab or cut herself on the thorns of the
roses that were spread over the counter. Cutting the leaves that
weren't pretty enough, she set them aside, knowing that she
could use them later in the process. Looking around her, she
could see the flowers seeming to sway with the music. Soft
melodies played along her ears and she smiled to herself as she
settled back into the place. She had things to do. She had
homework to do, but then, she had to get all of these flowers
put into arrangements before she could even pick up a pen.
Setting the cutters down, she looked at the styles again and
picked up the roses, bunching them closer to her as she picked
up a single flower and looked at the leaves that still hung from
the stem before taking a good look at the petals. They sparkles
underneath the light sprinkle of water that dripped from her
fingers. Chilling them with her fingertips, she let the sparkles
practically turn into frozen diamonds within the petals. People
always loved her frosted arrangements. She had been paid a lot
to do a set of arrangements before and she had never had so much
fun. Wimberly was so excited for her that she only giggled at
her every time she came in to check on her. Emerson pressed her
lips together now and picked up a clear and formed vase. The
glass had been formed with delicate swirls, yet not too busy
with the arrangement she was going to make. Her breathing was
even before she could hear the ring of the bell. Someone was
here. Lifting her head, her emerald eyes came to meet a very
lovely figure. One that stood for all the male figures most
would love to have. Immediately, she turned her head away from
him and let her delicate and thin fingers move to turn the music
down.
"No bother at all." She said in her soft manner. She looked down
at the roses before smiling at them as he spoke that he was
going to hang around to smell the flowers. "We have all kinds to
just sit there and smell." She said easily, never lifting her
eyes. There was a slight spark over her skin as she could feel
his gaze over her. Continuing to look at the rose, she watched
his figure out of the side of her eyes as he picked up a rose
out of the vase, pressing it to his nose before returning it to
the bunch. She could practically feel the warmth radiating from
him. Lifting her eyes to his as he spoke to her, she searched
his eyes as her fingers lifted to touch the rose that he just
picked up. The touch left a sign of him that was uniquely set to
him. "Given the situation?" She asked easily, returning the
attitude of them knowing each other. A soft smile pulled at the
corner of her lips as she shrugged her shoulders before removing
her fingers from the rose and set them back on the counter as
she leaned against it. "You just get done fighting?" She asked,
but then instantly regretted it.
She broke the eye contact and bit her lip for a moment, looking
down. She was not sure about herself for a moment. She could
never act right. Weird was her forte and it was practically
singing at that moment. She blushed slightly and looked down at
her recently cupped hands. Facing them down quickly, she cleared
her throat. "I meant, what brings you here to Daisy's Flower
Shop?" She asked, trying to cover up her mistake. You need to
get a freaking grip girl, and stop being so weird. Her eyes
faltered as they were losing emerald color, slowly fading into a
clear before she blinked it away.
The emerald returned immediately.

He had caught everything within a matter of seconds. Her
question sparking his brow up as he smirked. His small guttural
chuckle emanated as she tried changing the subject at her error,
rather it wasn't, but she had not known that quite yet. He could
tell that not only was it the opposite of normal for such a
question to arise so suddenly but another was apparent, this
woman was no ordinary person. Rather she was quite different
indeed. Catching the small color of her eyes changing as he
scanned the question finding the easiest way to answer. With a
shrug he spun around to look at the plethora of flowers as he
turned back to the counter again his hands slowly touched the
edge and he rested against it for a short time. "You could say
I'm looking for something a bit different, possibly a little
unique..." He stopped for a second to raise his brow to the
woman again. "May I ask a question?" He had signaled something
for a second as he smirked at her. His eyes never moving from
hers, but then he jolted to look at the door then back at her.
Sirens blaring in the streets as he shrugged. "Just cops and a
fire truck, a few ambulances as well..." He slowed himself
before finally shaking his head. "A building caught fire not
long ago, and to answer your question it did quite happen to get
into a fight." He cleared his throat as he coughed into his
gloved hand. "Excuse me."
He had stopped for a second before removing his gloves and
settling his hands on the same rose as before his fingers
traveling over the rose around, and back, up then gingerly over
the lightly ice crusted petals before pulling away his fingers
he flicked a petal lightly. "I am here to inquire on how much it
would be to buy all the flowers here and perhaps if you'd
like..." He stopped and looked up from the flower to catch her
gaze as he smiled. Seeing her astonishment and disbelief as he
chuckled. "I would like to take you out on a date, around the
town and possibly if you cared to back to your place. My treat,
and we'd be riding within a limo as my budget has no limit for
our luxury, and of course if you'd like to buy an outfit perhaps
to fit the bill or even be a casual date it would also be on
me." His smile pulled into a smirk and then stilled back to a
small smile as he tiled his head. "Of course I'm not gonna
pressure you into saying yes, rather if it were a no we'd both
go on our merry ways. Although..."
He stopped and slowly shook his hair out, his head flicking back
and forth as his fingers crawled through his hair and he smiled.
"I would still like the flowers, either way..." He trailed off
before finally turning around looking at the store again and
checking all the flowers, the rarity, petal position, stem size,
and overall clarity of each flower. Each having a separate price
in his mind, then he turned back to the counter and stood tall
pulling a large covet of money from his left breast pocket of
his jacket. Slowly he began flicking out hundred dollar bills.
Counting aloud and to the woman without a second thought. "One,
two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten..." He
stopped and grasped the outward money before shaking his head.
Pulling the money from the wad and replacing it back in his
pocket. "I would like the flowers to be delivered, and spread
out among the field in which you so love the most." His smile
grew as his eyes looked up to her and he set the money on the
counter. "That should be more than plenty to have the flowers
and set the store up for a few bad weeks..."
Again he trailed off before slipping his gloves back on one hand
at a time and finally he shook his hair out again, his foot
resting atop his helmet as he leaned on the counter again, his
elbows off as was the best way to do so. "I know a many things
in case you are wondering, though I may not look it, I'm a
little more like you than it would normally show and unlike the
rest of the people who walk into this store I believe nature is
best when it is uninterrupted by needless scavenging and
deforestation is obviously the worst..." The smile on his face
only growing more apparent as he sighed to himself and tilted
his head. "Let's just say half the extra money shall go to you,
the rest to the store. And without any confusion I shall be back
tomorrow in the earliest I can to help with the relocation of
the flowers. I will in fact help as much as anyone should be
able to and not only will they be put back in the ground, but
they will continue to grow as much as any plant should." He
stopped again only to put his foot back on the ground and he
stood straight up again. "Now tell me something real quick, have
you ever heard of the rare colorless lotus?" His question was
asked not only confidently but it was obviously the last thing
he had spoken before finally brushing his chest off and reaching
in his pocket again and retrieving his key, the small loop just
large enough to fit a finger in and spin around the index
finger.

"Well I could have something made for you if you wanted." She
said softly as she looked down at the flowers in her hands. She
wasn't intrigued by them in any way, but she wanted to look a
little busy so then her eyes wouldn't lift and trace the man
that was standing in front of him. When he had come closer and
held the rose, she could see the look about him. She could feel
the pressure from the hands of him seeping from the rose and
onto her skin when she had picked it up. Looking toward him, as
her fingers still twirled around the rose for a moment, his eyes
seemed to have never left her face. She continued to break eye
contact, her face still slightly without emotion as she looked
down at the rose before returning it to the bunch. "You may."
She answered his request of asking and she was surprised by the
question that had passed through his lips. In fact, her
assumption was true, but she knew she was, though she has a very
good way of showing it. She made a sigh inwardly and continued
to look at him. When he looked behind him at the sound of
sirens, she nodded her head toward his statement. A soft smile
appeared at the corner of her lips as she looked at the rose
enveloped in his fingers. "I could only guess by the indention
you made on the stem of the rose. Your muscles must be tense
which made you absentmindedly put more pressure..." She broke
eye contact again and returned to cutting stems.
As she began cutting stems again, she slowed when his next few
words passed his lips. She slowed down and lifted her eyes to
look at him. They were widened slightly as she soon looked
around the store to see how much they had and it was quite big.
The store was a good size which was the reason why they were
usually the flower caterers for big events in the city. When he
spoke of buying them all, she wasn't sure to say, but then when
he brought up taking her out on a date, she traced his face for
a hint of a joke. She set the cutters down and looked to the
side. "It makes me curious on why you would want to take me out
on a date around town and buy all of these flowers to put them
in my choice of place..." She tilted her head for a moment. "Is
this a joke? Am I being pranked?" She turned her head and lifted
a brow when she met his eyes again. She gave a soft chuckle
before looking down at the cutters laying down on the table. "I
don't even know your name." She said, lifting her eyes to his.
"You don't even know my name." She laughed a little...
Pressing her lips together, she moved the bottom between her
teeth and nibbled for a moment as she looked around before
watching him count out the money out on the table. "Uh..." She
saw the stacks growing in front of her as he began to pull out
the wads of cash. "I'm not sure if that is a good idea..." She
looked at him. "Tomorrow?" She glanced at him before looking at
the place around her. Wimberly was going to be ecstatic. She
touched her fingers to her lips before looking around her. "It
would set us up..." She bit her lip again and removed her
fingers from her face and touched the counter again to look at
him. "What is the catch..? My date with you?" She asked. Her
heart was racing in her chest. She didn't know how to respond to
the entire store being bought in one night...and then removed
practically the next day. She turned her head and was amazed
that she barely caught his words about a colorless lotus. Her
eyes widened slightly at the words. "I've heard of them, but I
haven't seen them before, well since they are rare." She said
softly.
"Uhm...if you are really going to buy all this and have them
planted where I want them to be...you should probably check out
the place before you really put your money down." She said
softly.
"I can show you." She said softly. "And that can be a part of
our date...I'm not into the fancy things..." She pressed her
lips together and then lifted her keys out of her pocket. "And
if you are going to spend time with me, there is one condition
that I always have." She smiled and giggled.
"I drive."

He shook his head at the jingle of her keys and soon rolled his
neck. The smile hadn't faded and it was all obvious that it
wouldn't. He turned to look at the door then back at her. "I'll
accept that one, but I have no need on seeing the place. I've
been there quite enough already. More than you'd think at
least." With a slight chuckle he shook his head. "It will fit,
and it'll be just enough of a surprise to you as it will
everyone else. Cause as we speak right now I'm having the
permits for that whole area to become private property from now
on. No trespassers, no kids stomping around, and absolutely no
deforestation at all." He smiled as he turned back around, his
eyes gleamed and he chuckled yet again, he was always smiling,
for the most part. It faded slightly, then soon showed up again.
"The property has been barren for a little while, the old house
hadn't stood quite as well as it had years ago, the only reason
they hadn't put up a new house was the construction problem." He
lifted his eyes to catch hers and slipped his keys back into his
pocket, soon following his gloves as he looked around again.
Checking for himself that no one else was around.
He again approached the counter soon enough lifting that same
rose in two fingers. His eyes shined, then went their normal
green again. The rose shifting slightly, faded, then the color
changed, from a normal red petaled rose to a beautiful gleaming
emerald green. His eyes looked up to hers as he smiled. "I know
a little bit more than you, but only certain things can happen
with my powers."He shrugged and held the rose out to her. Before
finally his eyes slowly shifted again, to a red color then back.
The roses color turning to normal as he tilted his head. "We are
going to see a lot of each other lately, especially since I can
let you happily check your skills and as well..." He checked
behind them and raised his eyebrows. The door locking and the
sign turning around. Signalling to everyone else that the store
was closed, but the lights stayed lit. "After all your training
and learning your skills will match or even better my own... and
the only one better than my own is my brother's and my
father's." He coughed into his hand clearing his throat. He
shook his head and then looked at her again. Lifting a bundle of
roses from a vase and closing his eyes, a light sparkling then a
small cloud of black furthering around his hands and the roses.
Soon it dissipated and he nodded at her. "So what would you like
to learn first?" The cloud had cleared and the roses had shifted
colors again, they sparkled with a light frost of ice, and the
colors were all mixed. A plethora of colors within the bundle
itself. They were all in fact a shifted color of rainbows mixing
and mingling. The colors full and mixing well with another.
He set the roses in the vase again as he smiled again, the color
keeping this time and he raised an eyebrow. "Looks like you have
a new item in stock." He chuckled as he looked up at her then
lightly touched a petal of one of the roses. The frost soon
pushing against his fingers as he smiled and looked up again,
his eyes caught hers. He looked at her a good bit and then
looked away. Towards the rest of the flowers as he blinked. "Not
sure what we should go over first it seems, though it's open to
whatever you want to learn. I'll do the best I can for you, but
it's up to you to practice as much as you want to." He looked up
again and then nodded. "I guarantee though at one point you will
think you've done it wrong, but with everyone it's a little
different and there is no wrong way." He raised an eyebrow
towards her and smiled. "Practice won't make you perfect, but
you can get pretty dang close..." He trailed off and slid his
hands behind his back, venturing to behind the counter and then
standing next to her. He stopped and nodded. "Close enough to
where you can do this without any sign of something actually
happening." He stopped talking and his hands were held out in
front of him, he looked from her to them and there in his palm
sat a clear flower. No color besides the small amount that faded
from his hands and the light. He smiled and held the flower up
to her, his head tilted as he smiled. The small flowers sunk
into his palm perfectly as he lifted it up to her. "The
colorless lotus, wasn't only a crossbreed of all lotuses with
exceptional results." He cleared his throat and looked at her.
"It was also something that my father had created himself, first
from just accident, until he realized the properties that this
little flower had held..." He stopped and set it down right next
to her and slipped back to his side of the counter. "I don't
think it wise to be back there just in case your boss shows up."

"You've been there?" Her eyes stared at him now. She set down
her keys and settled back on her heels. She was kind of excited
to get out of there and to hang out with him. However, it seemed
that he had other plans. Biting her lip, she looked at him,
seeing the different angles of his face. He was handsome. Very
much so, but then she found herself sinking farther against her
heels...against the ground. "Who are you doing it for? Yourself
or someone else?" She asked quietly, breaking eye contact as she
held the flower lightly in her hands, making sure that she
wasn't leaving imprints like he had. She wondered how it
happened, and the reason why he was fighting in the first
place...But then she shrugged her shoulders inwardly. Anyone who
had that much money must fight a lot... She thought to herself
and looked to the side, glancing outside as she saw very few
people walk by. They were on the edge of the city so not many
people visited them, but she still enjoyed the few that actually
came into the store regularly. Some of them were quite
entertaining.
Now sitting here visiting with the man who had come in, she
found herself itching to finish the plants so then she didn't
seem lazy to her boss as well as the man who was standing in
front of her. He seemed hard to impress. Especially when he
began to open his mouth about powers. Wait. Powers? She thought
to herself. She lifted her hands out in front of her. "Wait,
wait, wait." She said. "How do you know about my powers?" She
asked. "And what do you think I am?" She lifted a brow and
watched him. Her eyes were fading into red only slightly. The
green was still the main color, but the edge was being taken
over by flames. Her fire element was making itself known, but
she had to hold back. The green was taking over again as she
looked at him for a moment. She waited for the anger to fade
before she let her mouth open again. "What do you mean...teach
me?" She asked. She was completely taken off guard by this. "I
thought you were just being nice. Actually caring about the
environment because we need to." She watched him carefully.
"When did this turn into teaching me how to control my power?
You don't even know what I am!"
She looked to the side and stepped back away from the counter
slightly as she looked at the amounts of flowers before she
could hear the click of the sign turning to the closed position
and the door locking. "Me and you aren't the same." She said
quietly and began picking up flowers and setting them in correct
vases before she would try to put them into arrangements.
"Well congratulations to your father. He created something very
beautiful.." She said, though it faded as he began to come to
her side of the counter. The closer he came, the more that she
could scent his cologne. It was mesmerizing, and it was making
her feel a little weak to his charms. The anger was fading, but
she needed to stand her ground. Whatever ground that was. Her
eyes pulled away from his and she nodded her head. "Yeah, my
boss doesn't like customers behind the counter." She said easily
as she began picking at the flowers. Continuing to mess with the
flowers, she lifted her eyes to his and she could feel a pull,
but she ignored it and turned her head to look around them.
"Well since, that closed me a whole hour early, I guess I should
probably clean up." She said and wiped her hands on her apron
before picking up the slightly damp flowers. She wraps them in
her arms and looks over the pile of flowers that she had picked
up over to him. "Could you stay here a moment? I'll be right
back." She said and took the flowers to the back, quickly so
then she wouldn't burn them. The marking on her palm where her
element symbols were placed were simmering against the flowers.
Setting the flowers down on the table, she rubber banded them
before coming out to the counter again where she could look at
the man. She crossed her arms over her apron and looked at him.
"Now do you want to still hang out?" She asked, lifting her eyes
to his, almost challenging him.

He had nodded, and almost completely forgot of her questions,
his eyes averting themselves to those outside walking, and yet
he cracked his neck again. His eyes never shifting as he nodded
to her, he could still see her movements and everything else
perfectly. "Pleasantly..." He sighed letting her go on her way,
but standing to himself. His cologne did give off a faint scent
though his head was more preoccupied with other matters. His
building needed replaced, and among other things the town was
gonna be in a pinch the next morning, his best interest would be
to not charge anyone but, for his benefit just replace the area
with an orphanage. He heard her steps again, and could smell
easily the scent of the moisture from the flowers, she wasn't a
shifter, that much was true. It was more obvious that her powers
had varied from his but, his were still a column ahead of her
own. "I can't believe this city isn't overpopulated yet... seems
so nice on the outside..." He spoke to himself but then kicked
his helmet up into his hands, slowly turning to look at the
woman again and tilting his head. "If we do leaving the lotus on
the counter wouldn't be a smart move, your boss would be
wondering how it got there and what it is. I don't think it'd be
smart to leave a trail which is easier to remove than to leave."
He waved his hand around the himself, his scent, footprints, and
even his small signature of heat disappeared. He raised an
eyebrow as his feet spun him in his place. He shook his head and
hair out yet again before shrugging. "Whether we hang out is up
to you, I have nothing else to do tonight besides think up
designs of a new building."
With his opposite hand he held up a figure and halted. His foot
coming down but he was turned to face her again. "Those symbols,
on your palms..." He pointed at her hands and tilted his head.
"I can help with them, not by contact at all I promise, but I
can teach you of a way to keep them in check. Not control them
without mercy, but enough to where they do what you want, on
their own of course." He lifted his finger again and cleared his
throat. "Of course that's completely up to you. I'm sure if you
leave some of the cash for the boss I'll get all these flowers
out of here and in their respectable places in the field, won't
take long at all, few seconds in fact." He looked up at her
again, this time his eyes traveling over her body, she was
seemingly perfect, even her freckled cheeks bones and her nose.
He smiled and nodded. "I promise to answer any questions you
have, every single one, but on one condition." He had smiled and
looked at her. "One date, and tonight can count, I want you to
meet me at the meadow, of course I'll be going one way or the
other, but your company would be greatly appreciated."
He stopped again to push the vizor up on his helmet and slip it
over his head. Putting a finger on the top of the vizor and
smiling again. "I'll see you there?" His last question was left
open and he smiled again, winking as he flicked the vizor down.
His feet turning himself in place as he pulled the door open
with the chime of the bell and he slipped his gloves on, waving
one last time and letting the door closed behind him. "I hope
she likes what I've done with the place..." He spoke quietly and
shook his head as he put one leg over his bike again and slid
the key into it's place. The bike roared to life again as he
rolled his neck and shook his head. "Time time time... is all
that I need." He spoke quietly as he kicked the stand up and hit
the throttle pulling out of the parking spot easily and heading
down the road. His eyes shifting back and forth careful to pick
out every detail of each person, animal, or object he passed. A
few things kept his attention but, nothing enough to keep him
from what he was already doing. "Hmm, this would look better
over there..." He was having a quiet conversation to himself and
he smiled under his helmet. Shaking right hand out as he let off
the throttle but kept his speed. His hand grabbing the throttle
and letting it open. He was easily pushing one fifty and
possibly higher, and then he let off the throttle hitting the
break and coming to a complete halt as he stood up and flicked
the kickstand down again.
Soon the bike disappeared as did it's sound. Yet his helmet had
stayed snug on his head. "Well this looks beautiful, if I do say
so myself." He slid the helmet off as it disappeared as well,
with no trace of where it went. Soon his jacket was gone and in
it's place a white t-shirt. His pants staying as well as his
sneakers, and his hair had been exactly the same. He looked
around the field as he smiled to himself slowly and carefully
walking up to the sign and fence that kept all but a few from
the field itself. "Well what a nice touch, gilded platinum sign,
ten foot electric fence, powered by sunlight of course." He
slowly slid his hand to touch the sign, the light zap he felt
just made him shrug and laugh. He walked soon to the small door
that had been placed, full tempered bulletproof glass surrounded
by eight inch plate steel to keep from any sort of vandalism at
all. He slid his fingers over the handle and pushed the door
lightly, stepping through as he laughed. "Good good, security is
really well taken here." With one last smile he slid a small
flower from nowhere onto the outside handle. A deep red rose
sitting atop the door handle as he took his steps inside the
area.
He took his steps slowly and he was only walking to avoid
boredom, before finally reaching a small area where a small
array of flowers were planted. Pansies, Posies, Tulips, and
Roses. All in large clusters all around the small yet
accentuating fountain in the middle. The stone in itself having
a bushel of flowers atop of it and although marble the water
seemed to spray out easy enough his eyes shifting every so often
to watch the door and road as he saw just a few people drive
past and examine the area. He wasn't waiting long before finally
taking a seat at the edge of the fountain. Leaning back against
the fountains base and looking up. "Oh how lonely one can be
without the emotions of human life..." He sighed to himself
before finally closing his eyes, his head still tilted back. His
lips pursing and his breath slowing and pushing out with a low
resounding whistle. Lightly tuned and yet as whispered as
possible. He stopped and shook his head. "I don't believe this
is the time to whistle anymore..." He was speaking to himself
but, yet he felt and knew someone else was there already. Though
he had no interest in starting his tune again.

Emerson was noticing that he was tuning out her questions and
wasn't even paying attention to her really, yet when he looked
at her he still gave her that sweet smile. She could feel the
anger bubbling up and the fire element was flaring in her palm.
The symbols were glowing practically and they were simmering
against her other palm as she pressed them together in front of
him when she came out to watch him. He explained soon that he
could teach her how to control the elements in her palm. She
lifted a brow and watched him carefully, shaking her head. "You
don't have to teach me anything. This would feel more like me
dating a professor." She said with a sigh and picked up another
batch of flowers before she turned and headed toward the
backroom. She paused at the doorway, to ask her question if they
were still going to hang out and he gave her the offer that they
were going to go the meadow. She nodded her head. "I'll be
there." She turned around just as he turned around to put his
helmet on after winking at her.
She could feel her heart racing from the single wink, but yet
she wasn't sure if he was just putting forth the flirting so
then he could get something. She didn't know what she had that
he would ever want. She was only a girl who was struggling
through college and dealing with bitches of parents. She set the
flowers down and began to lock up. She went through the correct
procedures before she walked out the back and locked it behind
her. She paused outside, feeling the slight heated wind blow
through her hair. What was she doing? Why didn't she say no and
stay there for the last hour? What if Wimberly came back early
from her date? What if she was going to get raped and killed by
this mysterious handsome man? She wasn't sure about what was
going to happen. Biting her lip, she headed toward her truck and
climbed in. She sat in there for a moment. Her fingers gripped
the staring wheel after she started the truck. She stared out
into the road ahead of her. She was really doing this. She was
finally doing something a little crazy in her life...
Her birthmark on the edge of her hip was heated, meaning it was
glowing. Was this a bad thing? Probably. There was a reason why
this man was coming here and talking to her at the most random
place in the city. There are probably way better looking girls,
and there are way better flower shops in the city, but no. He
had to stop there on the outskirts and talk to her...There had
to be a reason. She couldn't figure it out, but then she knew
that she was going to find out when she went and saw him today.
She stepped on the gas and fishtailed out of the drive, pulling
up gravel as she did so. The wind blew it behind her and she
drove forward, moving quickly down the highway leading out of
town. It was about 20 miles out and she was taking it like she
only had 5 minutes to get there. Soon, she was drifting to a
stop, facing the private property sign. She climbed out and
locked her truck and climbed through the gate before she pulled
the hairtie from her wrist and put her hair up in a messy bun.
She walked up the stairs to the main house who was standing
there, seeing as how everything was being rebuilt. She had seen
that everything was refurnished and pretty much redone. She
didn't udnerstand it all. The man had just arrived like an hour
ago and all of this had happened...She bit her lip to herself as
she looked around. Perhaps this man was al ittle more powerful
than she thought.
She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or bad thing.
"Hello?" She called, sighing slightly.

"Well it's been a while." He spoke softly to himself as he stood
up and walked around the edge of the house that had stood in the
middle of the redone area and he tilted his head as he stepped
onto the edge of the porch and lifted himself over the banister
slowly walking towards the woman again and he chuckled. "Getting
a good look of the place are we?" He smiled and looked around a
few times himself, spinning around on his heels as he examined
every inch of the front and he looked at her easily. "Told you
didn't I?" He tilted his head and held out his hand for her to
take. "I told you it'd be redone, flowers are all planted, it's
a continuous garden as well, ever growing and dying as the cycle
starts over and over again, seasonally obviously." He had
awaited her hand to be placed in his own and his fingers would
grip her hand softly and carefully as he felt her rune against
his palm and shook his head. "Been a while since I've felt a
runic tie like that. You're quite unique dear..." He stopped
himself as he slowly looked around then turned pulling her ever
so lightly in the direction of the back, rounding the porch
slightly as he smiled. "I promise I won't hurt you at all, no in
fact I'd rather just help as much as I possibly could, as it'd
make us both happy." He was still smiling when they reached the
back porch as it over looked the back yard.
A beautiful sparkling sight as the fountain was in the middle
and the area in the back a simple maze of flowers a plenty, the
colors shimmering with frost, dew, and moonlight as he smiled
and leaned against the porches banister. "This is what the
property use to look like, it's a shame it turned into one of
the worst places in the town... but now we don't have to worry
about that happening. Ever." He smiled again and shook his head
lightly, his hand flushing his hair back as he shook again and
fixed his hair. "This place is very beautiful, in both day and
night, not to mention it's a lovely place to live for a florist,
one quite like yourself." He jumped over the rail and landed
just over a bushel of roses that he continued walking away from,
his feet carrying him easily to the fountain as he looked back
and his voice fading, but there none the less. "We all have
thing we like to immerse ourselves in. Yet we all feel as though
we are different, though in one aspect we aren't. After all
there is a tie between us all that seems to finalize our
humanity and make us... connected." He spoke the last word
before sitting at the edge of the fountain and dipping his index
finger in, a chill riding his spine as he chuckled. "I will
answer whatever questions you have for me, as long as you answer
these questions truthfully. And I will have no other requests
besides that you stay at your new home free of any charges, any
money you make from now on will be strictly income." He tilted
his head and slowly stood up flicking the water off his finger
and bowing once more.
"What is it that you seek most within life and death? and as
well..." He stopped and slowly looked around the garden as if
thinking over his next question, finally looking at her and
smiling. "What is it that you fear most Miss Emerson?" He let
her think over all the questions before finally turning around
to look at the small maze, then back at her as he walked in
towards the porch and stepped on the first stair and stopping.
"I will give you however long you need to think of these
questions, after all, they are very meaningful." He smiled and
slowly took a seat on the step and turned towards the yard again
and looked backwards and up at her. The smile still apparent as
he shook his hair out again and then finally just looked up at
the sky. Gazing at the moon, the stars, and occasionally a
passing cloud as he continued to smile and breathe happily in
then out.
