Role play with Beff
By: Harbinger Date: April 27, 2013, 10:58 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
It was a cold fall evening, the sun was setting, the leafs blew
around in the wind, and a light rain fell from the dark clouds.
A group of people stood around a grave looking down at it. They
were paying their respects and they were there for their friend
as well. The man standing closes to the grave was Mar. He wore a
black cloak with his hood up because of the rain. His red eyes
starred down at the grave sight. The grave only had a name on
it. The name was Crystal. She was some one very important in
Mar's life and her blood was on his hands. He was the reason
behind her death. Having a demon inside of you does that. It was
all before he had it under control, it'd break free without him
being able to stop it. It killed her, and set ablaze to a small
town. After that painful day Mar never let it back out, he
fought his hardest to keep it inside of him. It was never
getting out again. Standing behind Mar was his younger brother.
He stood out like a sore thumb. His hair a silvery colour and he
wore a blind fold at all times but yet he could see. So why wear
a blind fold? His name was Flag, and he was a very peaceful
young man. He reached up and patted his brother's shoulder
saying nothing. Mar just continued to stare down at the grave.
Flag knew that this was something that held heavy on his
brothers heart.
Standing behind Mar was another man. This man wore a very nice
business suit and a white fedora. His eyes were a light blue
colour and they also looked like they belonged to a cat. The
reason behind that was because this man was a Cheshire Cat. His
name was Chess, Chess Bizarre. He had been a good friend to Mar
for a very long time now and they were after the same goal,
stopping a being known as Q-Ball. Chess only met Crystal a few
times but he still came to pay his respects to her and Mar.
Standing beside Chess was a man with dark blue hair and a very
light blue aura covering his whole body. This was Xander and he
was good friends with both Chess and Mar. The three of them all
after the same goal, stopping Q-Ball. Then finally was the girl
leaning up against a tree with her eyes closed a little bit away
from Mar and the others. Her arms crossed over her chest it
looked as if she was taking a nap. She was awake though, paying
her respects in her own way. This was the younger sister of Mar
and Flag. Her name was Violet. Like Mar she was very moody and
grumpy all the time it seemed. Like a good family member though
she was there for her brother. After about twenty minutes she
pushed herself off the tree and walked off. After a bit more
time both Chess and Xander said their good byes and left as
well. Finally is was Mar and Flag. They stood there saying
nothing for a good twenty minutes. "Well Mar, I'm going to head
back. You coming?" Mar shook his head a bit. "No I'll be home
later." Flag nodded and patted his shoulder once more before
walking off.
Mar knelt down and sighed a little bit. He closed his eyes
falling deeper and deeper into thought. This had been something
that had been weighing down on him for the past few years now.
Slowly he opened his eyes and looked at the grave. With no one
around he spoke. "I'm sorry. I've kept the demon locked up ever
since that night. I should of fought harder to keep it locked up
that night but I didn't. I'm sorry." Mar said sadly and stood up
getting ready to leave. "I'm going to leave now, I'll see you in
a few days." He said and turned his back walking off to end
home. Mar wasn't going to get home anytime soon though. He was
planning on taking all the long ways he could, so he'd have more
time to think.

Pale blue eyes watched from a distance as strands of blonde hair
quivered in the faint wind, dainty hands holding a red and
black umbrella aloft to shield a young girl from the rain. Her
expression was emotionless, almost empty it seemed, she had a
distinct lack of talent for supporting those who had lost
someone close and yet she had a fondness for lingering near
graveyards. Her skin was pasty white though her cheeks were
flushed with a light pink from the cold, though despite the low
temperature she still wore clothing that did nothing to help
warm her. She wore what appeared to be a jesters uniform with a
rather modern take on it, a red and black corset styled outfit
with matching sleeves and puffed shorts covered her body whilst
black and red gloves with ruffled bracelets were worn on her
hands. She stood in red and black high-heeled boots which
reached above her knees, with three black diamond shapes on the
outside of the red boot on her thigh. Around her neck was a
jesters collar and upon her face was a black mask that circled
her eyes, which were darkened by make-up that matched her black
lips. Her bright blonde hair was tied into two bunches, one with
black tips and the other red to match her outfit. Yet despite
her comical appearance, her expression remained somber and
sullen.
She watched the funeral gathering until the others had left,
leaving the one man on his own. Continuing to watch for a
moment, the girl tilted her head and pondered a thought;
Normally she would leave and let the mourner continue their
business, but today was different. Different how? She did not
know, but it was not a usual day. As the man rose to his feet
and began to walk, the girl followed. With the sound of her
boots on the path and the pitter-patter of rain on her umbrella
to be heard, she decided there was little point in trying to be
stealthy about it, so she simply walked a short distance behind
him, keeping enough of a gap between them that she wasn't
invading his space without invitation. She didn't want to
intrude on a day such as this, when he was clearly shaken by a
death of someone he knew, but her curiosity in him was enough to
tell her to follow. Should he choose to turn and speak to her,
she would oblige of course.

As soon as Mar walked off from the grave sight he knew he was
being followed, or at least he thought it was some one
following. Maybe they were just taking the same path as him at
the moment so he didn't think much of it. Mar just continued to
walk trying to get that horrible night out of his head. An
unwelcome guest in the back of his mind weighing down on him. In
his mind he let a lot of people down that night, ruined lives.
After a few minutes of walking he looked over his shoulder to
see if the girl was still following him. She was, but why? Did
she know him, or did he know her? Some one from his past before
his life was turned up side down. Mar just couldn't remember. He
just continued walking for a little while longer not saying
anything. He's curiosity was becoming to much. Mar stopped in
his tracks and looked up at the sky letting the cold rain drops
hit his face. Finally he turned around to face the female. His
red eyes peered down at her. He couldn't really make her out to
much with it being dark. He knew she was a female because he did
notice her at the grave sight.
Mar wasn't a very talkative person when it came to people he
didn't know. Even around his family and friends he wasn't
talkative. He liked getting to the point, no beating around the
bush. Very straight forward, which at times made him sound a
little rude and mean. Mar didn't care though, he's reason being
on this planet wasn't to please anyone or make himself look
good. "Did you know Crystal? If not do you know something about
us that I don't. If not that either why follow me?" From within
his cloak his finger tips gently touched the handle of his gun.
"Or are you just one of the girls Violet pissed off, if so I
don't care. Go take it up with her." His words very cold but
also to the point. "Come on, speak quickly."

The girl's gaze never faltered from the back of his head, her
feet easily stepping over puddles without her even looking for
them. Though she felt the chill of the cold air around her, and
her pale skin was turning blue, she did not shiver or show any
other sign that she could feel the bitter bite of the wind. As
the stranger turned to look at her, she simply looked back and
continued to follow. Where would he go? A bar perhaps? That was
where most went after funerals. Or maybe he was walking to
somewhere he knew that had significance to the person they had
buried? Or maybe he was even just simply walking without
direction. Wherever it was, she would follow. Why? No reason. If
he went home then she would continue her walk elsewhere, she was
no intruder. When he stopped, she did too, her toes just at the
edge of a puddle so that each raindrop sent a splash of water
over her boots. Upon hearing his voice, she simply shook her
head and parted her black lips to speak. "I have no reason." Her
brows raised beneath her mask and the corner of her mouth
twitched as her fingers curled tighter around the handle of her
umbrella. "I am no enemy of yours."

Mar smirked hearing those words. Words he had heard many times
before. I am am no enemy of yours. Those words he had trouble
believing. His fingers still touching the handle of his gun.
"You want me to believe that you have no reason at all for
following some one around. It's dark and raining a horrible day
for just a walk. Cold and miserable out. Unless you like this
kind of weather. I don't see how anyone could though." Clearly
the man had no idea how to talk to strangers at all. Mar lightly
started to shiver looking around with his crimson eyes checking
out the area. He was always on guard, never letting it down. He
brother would tell you he had trust issues clearly. "So then why
don't you have a reason? I don't suppose you'd know that either.
Stupid questions, I'm sorry I'll be on my way." He turned away
from the girl and started walking off again. Would she say
anything or continuing following him he wondered? He didn't
think so, with the way he was he wasn't well liked by many. The
perks of not being a people person. It was like in his mind he
was just a sad child with no one around to really talk with.
Again he had Flag and Violet along with Chess and Xander but he
closed them all out.

Hearing his his comment on the rain, the girls eyes seemed to
brighten and her expression instantly changed, a wide smile
spreading across her lips as she shook her head so that her hair
swished around her head. "Miserable?! This weather isn't
miserable, it's just wet! There's nothing wrong with getting a
bit wet!" As if to show this, she held her arms out so that her
umbrella was no longer covering her, tilting her head back and
closing her eyes. It didn't take long for her to be soaked, her
wet hair sticking to her forehead and shoulders. With a giggle,
she held the umbrella aloft again and seemed to hug the handle
to her before hopping forwards into the puddle at her feet. With
a splash, she was drenched, yet her smile never faultered. When
he spoke again and then turned away to continue walking, she
again began to walk along behind him though now there was more
of a spring in her step and instead of avoiding puddles like she
had before, she simple skipped right through them. "Whats your
name? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I'm just
curious. Well, I'm not, I'm Flick, 'just curious' isn't my name.
Is it okay if I come with you? Where are we going? You know, if
you don't like the rain you should really have an umbrella. Like
mine! Do you want to use mine?" Her questions came one after the
other without leaving much time for him to answer between them,
it was as if a switch had been triggered earlier and a whole new
side of her was showing through; a chattier, brighter side that
was a complete opposite of how she had been moments ago.

Mar tilted his head a bit to the side when she pulled her
umbrella away and let herself get soaked up in the rain. All he
could really see was the figure of her body in the darkness. Her
body was very curvaceous but small and dainty. He couldn't say
he didn't like what he saw, there was just something about her
figure. Once he noticed his thoughts he shook his head clearing
his mind and speaking. "Well then, seems we can both agree on
rain not being so bad. I like it because it's peaceful." Mar
said as he slowly strolled away. His attention quickly snapped
back to her as she began talking again. She seemed so warm and
bubbly now, why the change. She fired one question after another
at him almost making him let out a very small chuckle but
instead he held a straight face. "My name is Mar, pretty simple.
Your name is Flick huh? Interesting name, I've never heard that
before. Your name may not be 'just curious' but you seem like a
very curious if I may say." Mar shrugged a bit and looked over
his shoulder at her as she skipped along through all the
puddles. Some of the water splashed up into his cloak but he
didn't mind. Again she almost got him to chuckle but he held a
straight face. "I don't mind at all if you come with me. Just
don't try anything, I'd rather not harm you. I'm going home, if
you can call it that. It's more or less an old, unused mansion
that I've called my home. I just use it as shelter and a place
to rest along with my brother Flag and my sister Violet." Mar
shook his head at her and pointed to his hood. "I have a hood,
you keep your umbrella, you don't want to get sick do you?" He
didn't notice at the time but he was opening up to her. Having a
nice little talk with a person. "When I get home you're more
then welcome to come in and dry yourself off."

Flick span around in a circle as she allowed herself to get wet,
nodding in agreement when he spoke of the rain. Hearing him
introduce himself, she paused her questions until he finished
speaking, tilting her head to the side slightly. "Well, I've
never heard the name Mar before, so I guess we're pretty even!"
She laughed and hopped into another puddle, still holding the
umbrella above her despite the fact that she was already wet.
She raised a brow when he spoke again, rolling her shoulders
slightly. "Try anything? Like what? I don't suppose there's
anything to try. Unless you mean try standing on my head, but I
don't have to try, I can already do that. Can you do that? You
don't have to show me if you can, since it's raining. Do you
think the rain will stop? I hope not, but at the same time I
hope it does. Flag is a strange name too, but Violet is a bit
normal. I like those names, do you like those names? Am I
talking too much again? I probably am, I talk a lot. Lots of
people get sick of me talking, even me sometimes!" For a moment,
she paused for breath and shook her head before continuing. "I
never get sick, I don't think I've ever been sick! Well there
was this one time I had chicken pox, but that's not really sick
is it? Not the kind of sick you get from being in the rain
anyway. I've never been that sick. And it's very nice of you to
offer, I think I will. It wouldn't do to stay wet, I don't get
sick but it's still not pleasant. It's still quite fun though,
don't you think?" By now she had caught up to Mar and was
strolling along side him, looking up at him with her wide eyes
and curious stare.

So many questions shooting out from the girls lips. It had Mar
speechless for a moment, he didn't know what to say. He had no
idea that she was going to be asking him all these questions.
Strangely though he didn't mind. Her questions and bouncy
personally seemed to keep his mind of some things. Mar shook his
head a little bit when she spoke of standing on her head and
asked if he could. "By trying anything I mean't don't try
anything I might find harmful to me. Although I really don't
think you'd do that and no I can't stand on my head. I'd have no
need to either." Mar looked up at the rain once more as she
asked about it. It was getting colder and colder out as the
night went on which made the rain so much more colder. His face
felt a bit numb as he shrugged a little bit. "I have no idea
whether the rain will stop or not. I'd have to agree with you, I
hope it doesn't stop either. It's peaceful listening to the rain
even when it's as cold as it is." Mar shivered a bit, his cloak
getting soaked unable to keep him warm now. He was close to the
mansion though so it didn't bother him. Mar thought of his
brother and sisters names and just shrugged a little bit. "I
never really thought about it before. They have okay names I
guess, I wonder why they picked those names. I wonder why I
picked Mar to be my name now that I think about it."
As he thought about it he shook his head once more and looked
over at Flick now strolling beside him. "No you aren't talking
to much. Your fine Flick." Once again Mar almost cracked a smile
hearing her talk on. He supposed it was because she was so
cheerful and it was a change of pace from the serious stuff.
He'd much like to stay in contact with this girl as much as he
could. He wouldn't openly say that though, he'd feel strange if
he did. "I guess chicken poxs could be a form of sickness. It
isn't healthy for the human body to have them right? Anything
that may prove unhealthy and harmful to the body could be seen
as a form of sickness." Mar tilted her head a bit not really
knowing what she meant. "Being wet or being sick? Being sick
doesn't seem like it wouldn't be very fun and being wet well...I
guess it depends. If it's really hot out I suppose doing
something such as swimming would be fun. Being wet right now
though when it's cold isn't very fun...but I don't mind it. Do
you find it fun being wet right now?"

Flick listened to his answer and nodded her head, her wet hair
dangling back and forth with each nod. "Well, I wouldn't harm
anyone. Unless they tried to harm me of course, or Skip. Did I
tell you about Skip? I don't think I did. I won't bore you with
details about him though unless you want me to. I mean, you
wouldn't want me to bore you of course, but maybe you think I
won't bore you. If you know what I mean. Am I doing it now? I
hope not. I hate making people bored. If I start talking too
much you'll tell me, won't you?" She nodded in agreement when he
spoke about it being cold, shivering dramatically and clutching
the handle of her umbrella. She had started to avoid the puddles
again now, her toes were soggy and cold, so she suspected she
had a hole in her boot. As the conversation shifted to being
sick, Flick shook her head. "No, no, being wet! Being sick
probably isn't fun. But I must agree, sometimes it's not so fun
to be wet either. But sometimes it's nice to be wet so when you
get home, you can get changed into something soft and warm and
sit in front of a fire all cosy, right?" She looked up at him
with a wide smile, though her make-up was now smudged from the
rain. Her pale white face had dots of pink where the rain had
washed away the fine powder she wore and her black lipstick was
smudged. She didn't mind though, just like she didn't mind being
wet.
