The man shrugged, listening to the silence and her words, his
soft smile turning downward into a small frown before he
laughed, "Ah, but that is the problem. I don't see." The gold
rings in his eyes intensified briefly before fading back into
obscurity beneath the white, blankness. He could feel her gaze,
questioning but hesitant, and allowed himself a small smile but
didn't press her. Instead, he merely watched her, pondering.
He allowed himself a small sigh and shook his head, "Nay. It
does matter what you are. Even if you are asexual, or whatever,
it matters. But what do I know? Just a blind man." He tapped the
rim of his glass. "I would appreciate another glass."
He sighed, making a vexed noise. "I've felt your curious gaze
for past several minutes. What is on your mind? Maybe I can ease
your curiosity." The gold rings stood out in the dim light of
the bar, tugging at his shirt before rubbing his palms together;
the air around the two lightening up and becoming... cleaner.
"Ah, that's better." He rubbed his hands against his pants,
releasing the excess energy gathered there. Placing his hands
back on the counter, he picked up the glass, which was hopefully
full by now, and took a small drink out of it, sighing contently
as the warmth spread through him.
(God, I'll get better >_>)

He made her fumble with his glass as he answered her silent
question as if he already knew what she was wanting to know. So
he is blind! That just left the newly replaced concern she now
had. A blind man fighting an entire group of armed men who were
not only drunk but hostile, how could he have managed that?...
Yet again, she chided herself, it wasn't the weirdest thing
she'd ever known or seen in her life.
It was with trying to regain her composure that she refilled the
man's glass with the smallest tinking of glass against glass,
her hands finally beginning to shake as her original adrenaline
ran off from her, leaving her just as plainly human as she'd
ever been. "Nothing's on my mind, nothing at all!!" Her voice
was higher, stuttering further, all effects of her fear vexing
her body for the moment before it decided to finally crawl back
into its dark, massive hovel within her mind. She subsided to
setting the glass back in front of him just as his hand extended
forward, her shaky fingers clumsily bumping into his for just a
moment at the combined reach which made her arm pull back her
hand with an almost too quick snap, her fingers curled now at
her side as she wished he wouldn't take her blunder personally.
"S-S-So..." Her palms rubbed correspondingly over the others
knuckles and fingers, taming the shiver while the air became
strangely easier to breathe. "Um...well, I should think to have
your name, sir, so I can properly thank you for what you did for
us. To help with my thanks, all your drinks are on the house
tonight, I don't think my boss would mind, he's too...occupied
right now, anyways."
As she spoke though a familiar vibration sounded out against her
thigh, making her give an apologetic and nervous nod as she slid
her slim fingers inside of the pocket, pulling out a simple and
unadorned cellphone of which she flipped open, moving away
slightly skittishly with one hand pressed to her opposite ear,
the other clasping the phone tight when she began to murmur
quietly, small blurbs able to be heard from her inability to
truly keep private conversations at a whispering level.
"Faust?...yeah I'm fine...what? No don't...Faust it isn't....Not
Cam...neither, it will be okay....I'm working..." if one were to
look at her in this moment perhaps they could figure out how
young she really was. Standing there looking as if she were
being scolded (which in reality, she was) the pale skinned woman
whose hair was obviously too black to be natural could have been
no older than her early twenties; the prime of her life to be
exact. In the light she was fair-skinned, the white flesh
exaggerated by the over-abundance of dark she wore and the dim
lighting only reflecting off the too-porcelain flesh in a manner
that made her glow, so to speak. Her eyes were big and a bright,
yet strangely mournful blue, as if they had once been vibrant
but the fires within had long since died out. Young and
beautiful, it would be hard to believe her past, a one where she
had been just as young, double as beautiful, and infinitely more
times miserable. "Yeah...bye."
The female, obviously flustered at having shown such rude
manners was quick to return back to her only conscious
customer's side, waving a small hand towards the bouncer while
directing her hand towards the man who had fallen asleep. "If
you call his wife, she should come pick him up." Looking back to
the stranger, she offered an apologetic nod of her head once
again, hands clasped tightly in front of her lap while she gave
a strained smile. "I will be leaving soon though, my
um...roommate, she's readily angry about my uh...lack of
cleaning in our apartment."

He merely sipped on his drink, chuckling to himself in between
sips, as he watched, or waited, for the woman. He nodded his
head in acknowledgement and waited contently, nursing the drink.
It was funny, how everyone accepted he was blind. Gerahn was,
indeed, blind, but he could see. He was a seer, the last
perhaps, and that was one of the reasons he had ended up in the
alleyway between the bar and the other building, what led him to
"save" the poor girls from a worse fate. While he didn't know
the outcome of the "fight" between the women and the gang, he
knew enough it would prove... problematic. He didn't know why,
or how, or to whom. Granted, the Druid didn't ask those
questions and simply did. The earth obviously wanted it done,
otherwise he wouldn't've seen anything, or felt the need to
help.
Gerahn Longstride did many things in the name of Druidism and
for the Earth, Gaia, whatever; kill, help, destroy, create. He
was many things but he was also simply one thing: Druid. The
protector of Earth, or a protector. And he didn't regret
becoming one in all his centuries. He sighed, shaking himself
out of his reverie to catch the last of her probing sentence
about his identity, "Ah, what does my name or anything about me
matter?" He winked at her. "Gerahn Longstride. And you can thank
me by letting me know your name and walking you home. Wouldn't
want you to get in any more trouble."
He drained his glass and slid it toward her with a finger,
awaiting. His smile slightly unnerving as he waited, as he
watched. A blind man that seemed way too observant. Most people
didn't catch upon that, as they were too wrapped up in their
pity for him. False and misplaced pity, but it was better to
play the part than to try and convince the people what, and who,
he was. The man made a frustrated noise at his thoughts,
dismissing them.

"Gerahn Longstride?...That's an interesting name." She spoke
with a slightly eased tone now, a bit more relaxed than usual
despite how she found her mind wandering towards the many
bottles behind her. He was right, no one would exactly berate
her for drinking; as against protocol was, every now and then a
rule or two could be scarcely broken....No! She wouldn't drink,
she'd promised herself that much. Shaking her head and musing
her short locks, the woman couldn't help but raise her brows in
surprise at his offer, or payment in this case for his services.
Now, she was on edge again. Alone? With this man who'd
single-handedly taken on a group of increasingly testy, armed
men in an alleyway while being blind? Wasn't that a bit of a
red-flag for potential attacker?
She eyed the blind man again, carefully spectating him as she
attempted to find something, anything, that could let her know
more about this man and his possible intentions. But as he
smiled at her and made her uncomfortably twitchy, she slowly
pondered the possibility that maybe he was just trying to do
what he said he was going to do; walk her home and make sure she
was okay? Her fingers carefully wrapped around his glass as she
took it slowly, unnerved by how much he seemed to...see. For a
blind man he sure looked at her as if he could see
her...Shivering just the faintest bit, the girl placed the glass
within the sink to leave for the morning shift with a small meep
of apology inside of her mind. It wasn't like her home was far
from here, only 10 minutes at most! So surely she could offer
him the benefit of the doubt and, if he tried anything, she'd
scream and she knew under her special circumstances, it wouldn't
take too long for help to appear.
With her fingers grasping to her hat that she'd disposed upon
the top of the bar when walking back in, the girl pulled the hat
quickly on to plaster the stray black strands of hair upon her
cheeks and looked towards him with her wide, blue gaze. "Well,
my shift has been over for a while anyways so...I guess we can
go now." Slipping her hands into the black jacket she shrugged
over herself, the material at least 3 sizes too big for her, she
wandered to the door and waited for him with a small hint of
wariness before speaking once more, a bit quieter and more
hesitant this time. "And my name is Er...Elin. Just Elin."

The realm was darkening, giving way to the moon, casting a
gloomy shade over everything. The wind seemed to pick up
slightly as a young female voice began to hum sweetly, then, it
became more eerie. "Ring around the Rosies..." The sweet tone
echoed out, the win picking up violently now. "Pocket full of
posies..." The realm flashed once, for that brief moment
revealing a mirror realm in which all life was butchered and
corpses were strewn everywhere. "Ashes... Ashes..." The wind
suddenly stopped and the voice giggled. "We all fall down..."
From behind a tree, a 4 foot 2 girl slowly walked into view. She
wore a slender black dress that seemed to be a uniform. A soft
silken purple ribbon held her soft grey hair with the ribbons
forming buns at the sides of her hair. Her eyes were bright and
of two different colors, red and blue.
Her arms folded inward and up, she hides her mouth with her
wrists as her innocent eyes scanned over the area. "It's getting
dark out Papa..." She whispered down to her feet, a swirling
mass of shadows slowly revealing itself as her intended target
for the question. "Okay Papa, I'll continue... Anything for you
Papa..." She said sweetly and with fiercely passive loyalty. Her
body was incredibly slender. She continued a few more steps,
taking great care with each individual placement of her feet.
She wore simply leather sneakers with her laces untied. She
looked down as the shadows made themselves invisible to all
mortal detection aside from those gifted with the sight of those
extraplanar. "I sure wish Papa would hold me..." She sighed
lightly. She quickly shook her head and forced a smile. "No
matter... Papa promised to rub my head if I did a good job
ridding this realm of the ickiness in people's hearts..." She
takes another glance over the entire area and sighs. "This might
take a long time..." She said with great disdain, desperate to
obey her Papa's orders to a T.

She had thought this night would have been easier. It'd taken
her a while to feel around for the proper ingredients but, with
the help of a rather loyal serpent, Caecus created the
protective concoctions and had carefully traced the patterns of
protection around her bed with the strange, gooey substance.
She even burned her sage as an extra precaution! It'd been a
while since she last slept and she could feel the weariness
inside of her, growing and bringing back irrational thoughts
that she tried her best not to dwell on in fear of spiralling
herself out of control; Caecus needed to be in tip top shape to
help her array of customers. Some wanted excorcisms, some wanted
to contact a loved one, a few even desired assistance with
spirital enlightenment and asking that from a sullen, depressed
woman who slept about as much as the dead she spoke to...well,
it made for a hard time. So tonight would be a night that she'd
have to cut herself off from the only world she truly knew and
she'd simply rest.
As she rested her spirit was called, for what reason she knew
naught but with such weakened state she could do little more
than mutter in indignation before she was pulled to the root of
this summoning. Her form changed in this form of astral travel,
so to say, a small convenience she'd learned a long time ago.
Not being her technical form, but an extension of herself, she
changed it with her will. Caecus took on the appearance of a
lean and tall woman with pale skin almost ashen, white hair
tinged violet that ran towards the backs of her knees, and a
tight, dress-like outfit that simply wrapped from her chest to
her thighs in blacks and purples. The most interesting of this
appearance was the binding over her eyes; a black and purple
covering over the eyes clasped at the front with silver clamps.
Above that slowly glowed a red marking, a symbol she'd learned
in the depths of her novice and foolish travels inside of the
spirit worlds; a sign that stood for what she was. Medium,
psychic, spiritual traveler.
She floated and floated in the empty space, following the pull
of the chains of her astral form until she found herself slowly
fading into a heavily wooded area, or so she presumed through
the heavy, forest smell. It would have been nice if it weren't
for the familiar ring she got in the back of her head near
sources of a special sort of power and the twisting, writhing
forms that stuck to shadows, undoubtedly beginning their chatter
now that she'd appeared. Her brow furrowed, her lips curving
downward in a soft frown as she struggled to feel for her
surroundings. Where was she, what was she doing here, and who
pulled her here? Pulling the chains wrapped around her wrists
and ankles to make for a slightly more comfortable experience,
the female coughed to clear her throat and spoke out calmly.
"Who has called me here?"

The little girl's head immediately snapped in the direction of
the woman, even before she was in the realm itself. She tilts
her head silently as the woman spoke, her eyes shining over
once, nodding with a heartened and knowing smile. "Sloth...
Envy... Such blatant disregard to the gift of life bestowed upon
her... The ickiness is there... But not in an amount that
requires punishment..." She said with an extremely analytical
mind, her eyes fixated on the area of the woman. Her words
slipped out accidentally as her eyes widen. "Whoops! That was a
little louder then I wanted... Sorry Papa..." She said with a
powerful wince, afraid of her own punishment from Papa for
talking the truth about her purpose. "Please don't punish me
Papa! I didn't mean tooo..." She whined, not paying attention to
how high her voice was now considering her body was still
recovering from her last mistake. Her body was covered in scars,
as if she was put into a blender but was not quite turned to
liquid in the process, the scars only appear in the astral or
"ghost" plane of existence.
The shadows merely kept swirling around her feet, the energy
emitted from it rose slightly as if in response to Dolly's
words. She then looked back up to where the woman had appeared.
"I'll go speak with her Papa. Do I get to play with her? Do I
Papa?" She asked excitedly, greatly wanting to do this thing she
called "playing" with anyone whom she felt had "Ickiness" within
them. "Understood Papa... I'll behave..." She sighed, once more
desperately wanting the approval of this being known as Papa.
The little girl got within 30 feet of the woman, making sure to
remain out of sight. "Pecavisti..." She whispered, a word that
translates to "You have Sinned" in latin. This a test of her
targets knowledge of spirits and if the woman knew in depth of
the spiritual Hierarchy she'd know that the word is directly
linked to a being of great power that culls the sinners and
absolves all those that he deems worthy of repentance. Yet this
legend seemed off considered the word echoed from just a little
girl.

She felt the presence shortly before it appeared. The senses she
lost made her others merely heighten and in the realm of spirits
where her other sense was heightened even further, it was easier
to tell when something approached. Call it a radar of sorts,
something inside of her that allowed her to know if the presence
bearing upon her was one she needed to assist or one she quickly
needed to summon her spirit back to her body from. So once the
presence neared, the chains around her tightened slowly with
just the faintest clink of metal, a fail-safe in case she needed
to escape quickly. Caecus had lost her spirit once before a long
time ago and it was not an experience she desired to encounter
ever again... The woman's head turned slowly towards the
epicenter of the pings bouncing around in the back of her head
and she looked, quietly upon whatever figure decided to emerge.
'Looking' might have been a broad term but, her head was tilted
towards the figure's area regardless of how effectively she
could see it.
Now, how she saw it... well, it wasn't like seeing a full form.
Skin, color, form; Caecus couldn't see those. She couldn't see
anything, really. But, what she could see was the spirit; the
subconscious reflection of one's desires and intentions. Most
of her clients had a sad shade of spirit, something melancholy
and broken in the grayest shade of blue. Those happened to be
the only moments she ever saw colors. With the appearance of
this creature, she couldn't quite define the color for it seemed
to shift. Red, black, gray, purple; all of these dark shades
coalescing together in some sort of mixed dance that throbbed
both power and danger. The voice that issued from this bodied
spirit was unexpected but the word itself was understandable,
something she'd heard more than plenty times through her astral
travels. "Pecavisti..."
