Once Roza stopped scolding the pup, she looked back up to male
in front of her, and made eye contact. Her own dark brown eyes
widened a bit, seeing the unique eyes-they were quite beautiful,
very odd, and something in her told her she should remember
those eyes for something important. Something she saw on the
TV...She almost had it, the importance of those eyes was so
close-until he spoke and she had to concentrate on not laughing
at the mans obvious comment. A large smile lit up her face and
her eyes gave a slight twinkle. "Aye. I'll be buyin' something
more resistant to me pups teeth." She frowned at the leash a
bit-it was supposed to be able to take the dogs chewing without
snapping, but she knew know that she needed a stronger leash,
and to scold the pup more when it chewed them.
"I apologize once more, she usually doesn't run away like she
did." Her Irish brogue calmed a bit, no longer as over come with
an emotion as before. She shifted Jadia so she could hold out
her hand to shake. "Me names Roza." She continued to look up at
him, her held tilted up a bit to meet his eyes-she was a tiny
woman, only about 5 ft tall. Her smile had returned, wondering
who he was, and if those were his natural eyes, or if he'd had
contacts or a surgery to change them-she wouldn't be surprised
if they could do that now.

Shane caught a movement in the corner of his eyes, but he
shrugged it off, returning his attention to the woman in front
of him. The lopsided smile on his face twitched into a smirk
when he saw her eyes widen. "Try getting a chain leash. If the
dog tries to chew it she'll bust her teeth." With that, his
smirk widened even more. He couldn't help his violent and
disturbing tendencies even in the presence of a proper woman. A
soft chuckle rumbled in the back of his throat, and his eyes
were caught once again at a subtle movement just to his right.
He caught a glimpse of a suit, and knew that it was the man who
was supposed to pay him.
His eyes narrowed and he bowed his head to the woman, Roza was
her name, as she introduced herself. "It's fine. She's just a
pup and doesn't know any better," but if she doesn't learn soon
I'll fry her, he added mentally, biting back his cold remark as
not to frighten Roza.
"The name's..."
He cut off abruptly. She he give her his real name? It could
compromise her safety. But isn't talking to her putting a huge
target on her back already? Shane isn't the most famous of
people, and surely if anyone saw him here with the girl she
would be in danger too. Only if people saw...
Shane looked around suspiciously. The only person that he knew
posed a threat was the man in the suit, rumors could travel from
his mouth. She was fucked. No harm done in giving her his real
name now.
"Shane. My name is Shane." And if you tell anyone, I'll kill
you.
Once more he bit back his ferocious tongue, finding it hard to
adapt to polite conversation. He stared down at her, being
literally a foot taller than her small frame. Clearing his head,
he forced the heat away from his hand before grasping her small
one in his, hoping the heat wasn't unbearable and he at least
seemed a little normal despite his odd eyes.
He withdrew his hand after a few seconds, bringing it up to his
mouth to clear his throat into his now fisted hand. "If you'll
excuse me, Roza, I've got some.. business to take care of." With
that, he pulled himself away from her alluring presence, making
his way through the park a little ways before returning to the
edge where the man in the suit was waiting for him. He didn't
know if she would wait for him to get back, but he would glance
around later when he was done just in case.

Roza caught the wider smile that appeared on the mans face when
he mentioned busted teeth-but chose to ignore it for now. To
each their own, though she may actually go to buy a chain leash
to avoid chasing the pup through the park again. She gave
Jadia's head an affectionate pat. "Aye, she usually stays away
from men though. I've no clue what's gotten into me pup today."
Jadia usually never ran away from her when she broke through her
leashes, just came over and cuddled up to Roza.
Roza caught the abrupt stop of his introduction, watched his
eyes while he quickly searched the park, but kept a small smile
for when he finally spit it out-Shane was a nice name, and it
seemed to fit him-thankfully he wasn't and a Bob, Joe, or Jared.
She seemed to meet a lot of sleazy agents with common names like
that.
Her eyes widened a bit as hi larger hand shook hers. "Feck! A
walkin' heater, ye are." She couldn't help the out burst, and
knew wearing was extremely un-lady like, but fuck it, she grew
up with seven older Irish brothers. With no other woman around
she had become one of the guys at home-she could easily
out-drink the other men and still be able to walk about without
falling on her ass.
Even though it was a relatively warm day, when Shane pulled his
had away she couldn't help the slight shiver that ran through
her body. Was the lad really that warm...?
The slight chill gone, she nodded, watching him walk away. Once
he was out of ear-shot, she put Jadia down and started scolding
her in Gaelic-a language she wasn't very happy to take up since
she planned on high-tailing it to New York once she hit
eighteen, but her grandfather had made it very clear that she
was going to learn it without a single complaint-and Jadia
always seemed to listen better when spoken to in Gaelic.

“Shane.” He heard the suited man state with a nod of his head.
Shane nodded in return, hands stuffed in the pockets of his zip
up sweatshirt.
It looked like any other ‘illegal’ deal. The man looked around
suspiciously before reaching into his blazer to retrieve an
envelope that no doubt had Shane’s money in it. Shane quickly
took a look around the park, making sure no one had seen them –
especially Roza. He didn’t need to explain himself to a
stranger, but if she saw the deal she would most likely think he
did drugs or some other petty thing. Drugs destroyed the body,
and Shane couldn’t have that happening. He was on a strict diet
that maximized his stamina.
The man held the envelope in his hand, resisting giving it to
Shane who gave him a completely annoyed look.
“I take it you disposed of him?”
Shane nodded his head, sighing impatiently. “He’s gone. No one
knows. Give me the money.”
The man chuckled, the envelope retreating slightly towards the
man’s body. Shane could feel his body heating up, hands more so
than the rest of him. If the man didn’t give him his money, and
soon, he would definitely be dead in a second.
The man raised a brow, tilting his head to the side out of
question. “And the family?”
Once more Shane nodded, even more impatiently than before. “The
wife, the kid. Dead. Any more questions? Are you not satisfied
with my work? It would be pointless for one of my most loyal
clients not see my work up to par.”
The man bellowed a laugh, causing Shane to quickly glance
around, not wanting attention drawn to them. “Your work is
spectacular. I am reluctant to give you the envelope as it
contains payment for two jobs.”
Immediately Shane’s interested was peaked, and his hands cooled
down considerably in his jacket pockets. “Who’s the other?”
The man only handed Shane the envelope. “A picture’s inside.
Find and kill, Shane. Find and kill. Don’t ask questions.”
Shane almost greedily took the envelope, looking at it with
excitement. When he looked up the man was gone, Shane spotted
him making his way out of the park’s entrance. Once the man was
no longer in sight he returned his attention back to the
envelope, tearing it open and shoving the money into his pants
pocket. The picture fell out among the ruckus, landing face up
on the ground.
He immediately recognized the face. A model, no doubt, as it was
one of their many glamour shots.
“How ironic..” He muttered to himself, bending over to pick it
up and give it a better look before shoving it back into his
pocket. Shane looked around the park, beginning to make his way
back to where he talked to Roza.

Roza lost sight of Shane, sitting on the grass and
"baby-talking" Jadia- but it wasn't long before a group of
giggly teenage girls came up to ask for an autograph, or a
photo, or meaningless conversation. One girl, a small thing with
unruly red hair, bombarded her with questions.
"Are you really Irish, or is just an act to make you seem like a
cooler person?" Steel-grey eyes met Roza's when she gave a
short, bark of laughter.
"Aye, lassy, I'm really Irish." She gave the girl a small, only
slightly fake smile. The question amused her-but coming from a
girl who had a slight brogue tinting her words amused her. "Can
you not tell?" The girl tugged on a strand of her frizzed curls
and shrugged.
"My da's Irish, and his brogue is much stronger than yours...so
I wasn't sure." Roza shrugged, explaining that she had to tone
down her accent so people could clearly understand her in
america, they chatted a bit more, took a photo, and then the
girl walked away with a group of friends who suddenly thought
her being part Irish was "So totally cool". That just caused
Roza to roll her eyes, she could honestly say she didn't miss
her high school days, since she wasn't truly a fan of people in
general.
It was only a moment after the girl left, that Roza caught sight
of Shane heading back her way. When he reached her, she just
offered a smile, not feeling nosy enough to ask what had caused
him to walk away-the males business was his own.

Shane easily spotted Roza, her company just then leaving her.
His lips pulled back into an easy smile, face lax and calm – he
couldn’t let anything slip now that he was so close. “Hey,” He
murmured to her with a quiet voice as she finally looked at him.
“Sorry about that. Won’t happen again.” A hand instinctively
rubbed at the back of his neck and he let out a soft chuckle,
fingers curling and tugging the short fuzz there as he mentally
scolded himself for doing it. What was this almost humane
feeling entering him? He couldn’t place it with anything he’d
felt before, so he merely tied it to the thrill of being so
close, yet somehow so far away all at the same time.
Shane shoved his hands deep into the pocket of his jeans, the
paper of the photograph tickling his fingertips as the magic
surged beneath his skin wanting to break free. He cleared his
throat, forcing the magic further inside of him.
“So why are you here?” He asked simply, looking her deep in the
eyes. She was a model, she worked. Was her work in New York for
the time being, or was she on a break of some sort? He needed to
know, so he knew exactly how much time he had. Sure he was
usually care free with his work and would go in guns blazing,
but this one was different. This was… special. Usually he would
go into his work guns blazing once he received his next
assignment, but he felt he needed to do it this way – to do it
differently. Never before was he assigned to off someone he had
already encountered and was semi-acquainted with. Different
times come with different measures.
His eyes drifted quickly down the length of Roza, taking in her
body with the quick glance before they settled on the dog. The
dog was brave. Curious, but brave. She must take after her
owner. Most people Shane came in contact with shied away from
him, but Roza was different, and this dog was definitely
different as Roza mentioned she never liked men to begin with.
He crouched down to the ground, hoping it appeared open and
friendly rather than the defensive and animalistic crouch he was
so used to using in his line of work. His hands clapped eagerly,
and he whistled to call the dog to him.
[Sorry if it's bad. Been drained from classes.]

The smile she gave him was small, but genuine, a rare thing for
the model. "Don't worry about it," She murmured back, watching
Jadia's tail wag furiously at the sight of Shane, getting ready
to jump at him again. She aimed a sharp look at her pup, and
Jadia sat back down, tail continuing to attack the air crazily.
At his question, she rolled her eyes slightly, thinking about
why she was in New York. "I just finished a shoot, so they
wanted to give me a six month break, to get away from me family
because I may have just a wee," she brought her hand up, holding
her pointer finger and thumb about a half in apart. "bit of a
drinking problem." She crossed her arms. "Damn bollocks 'ave no
damn clue wha' a real drinking problem is. I hate ta be da
stereo-typical Irish person, but wha' gets these flimsy lasses
here drunk off 'er ass in two drinks, can't even get me tipsy!"
Realizing her rant over beer, she stopped, giving him a small
smile and a slight blush. "Sorry, lad. It just burns me up."
As Shane crouched down and started whistling, Jadia wagged her
tail harder, whining up at Roza. Roza couldn't help but smile,
and tilted her head towards Shane, letting her know it was okay.
Jadia hurried over to him, resting her paws on his knees and
continuing to wag her tail happily.

Shane let out a chuckle as Roza explained her situation. A
forced break because she had a drinking problem? There was no
such thing as a drinking problem – or at least to Shane there
wasn’t. Due to his body being thoroughly interlaced with magic
the alcohol didn’t affect him as it would a normal human, so he
could drink substantial amounts without feeling so much as
tipsy. In a way, he was like Roza with her intolerance, he,
however, only had a younger sister and no older brothers. And he
wasn’t Irish, but that’s beside the point. However, alcohol did
impair his magic, so he usually stayed away from it in the rare
case that he lost control once again. It wasn’t that he was
scared of killing people, more so if he did lose control, he
would have to relocate his ‘business’ to another place.
Another lopsided smile took over his face, making him appear
extremely boyish as Roza explained the details. The more she got
fired up about it the more her brogue came out. She was fiery.
He liked that. He would never admit to himself that seeing her
like that was a little cute. But it was, extremely cute. And
then, when she had calmed herself and apologized, the accent
became a faint whisper compared to what it was before. It almost
made him want to get her going again, just to hear it spill out
of her lips like silk smooth blood, but he pushed that thought
deep into his mind, constructing a wall so he would no longer
think such things. He shrugged at her apology, his hands
resuming post inside his pockets as if to cover the wads of
money he had so she couldn’t see, but also to run his finger
over the smooth face of the photograph, reminding him what he
was supposed to be doing.
“You’re obviously going to the wrong places if you see girls
getting blasted with two drinks,” He commented. He went out to
many places, ones with girls who out-drank the guys there –never
out drank him though– but he wouldn’t participate in the
drinking. It was more like a contact-high. Being around people
who were drunk made him feel as if he was too. It was just safer
that way. “Stick with me, Roza, and I’ll show you some wild
places.” With saying that, Shane looked to her with raised
brows, silently challenging her.
While crouched down, Shane smirked at how eager the dog was too
bound over to him, but she wouldn’t unless Roza gave her
permission. She was so willing and trusting of Shane as if he
could do no wrong in her eyes. If only the pup knew what a
monster he was – if she saw what he was capable of she would
cower away in fear, whimpering as if begging him to spare her
life. When the dog finally got the signal, she immediately
bounded over to Shane, lapping at his chin as he scratched
behind her ears. His face immediately adopted a genuine smile,
and he soon began chuckling. “What’s her name?” He asked, never
remembering Roza introducing him to her companion.

A challenging glint was evident in Roza's eyes when she met
Shane's, accepting the challenge with a grin. "If you can show
me a place where someone can out drink me, laddie, I'll trust
you to take me to whatever wild place you want." She gave a
playful wink, which anyone around would have took as
flirting-especially if they had heard her words. She wasn't
intentionally doing it though, if she were, indeed,
flirting-which she would deny. Though, she couldn't help but
think Shane was attractive, every girls dream of
tall-dark-and-handsome. He was charming in his own way, too.
Roza watched her pup with a smile, shaking her head slightly
while watching her show affection for a guy. "Jadia, she'll be
damn beautiful when she's fully grown. Husky's always are." Her
next look held a bit of confusion and laughter. "Do ye have dog
food or something in your pockets? Or is there some new cologne
out? She normally bites the first man to even look at'er." Jadia
was actually the reason she stopped dating; if a dog didn't like
a person, the person wasn't worth having around. At least, that
was what Roza was taught as a child, as her father was a dog
person, they each had at least one dog of there own, and if the
dog didn't like someone; they fucked you over in the end.
The park was quickly getting more crowded, and the teen girls
pointing at them was making her itchy. She rubbed her arm and
shot a nervous look at a group of girls grabbing pens and
opening one of those handy little autograph books everyone
seemed to carry around her. She sighed. "I've no fecking clue
why those bollocks decided to fecking send me to some place
where I would be bombarded by string after string of these
fecking teenage girls, if they wanted me to stop da drinkin'."
She mumbled, her brogue thick once more. Running her fingers
through her soft, dark hair, she looked at Shane. "Aye, maybe ye
can help me find a better leash for'er yea?" She smiled a small,
tight smile, while she watched the group of girls try and make
their way over.

A smirk appeared on his face as Roza accepted his challenge—she
was definitely a fiery one. Maybe that was why she drew him to
her like a moth to flame as Shane had a rare connection with
fire due to his magic. But he had to admit that he was surprised
she even accepted his offer. Because she was a model she seemed
more ‘prim and proper’, but she was definitely proving that
stereotype wrong. She was rebellious, strong-headed, and very
attractive – which drew him in even more.
But getting too close was a bad thing. He was doing a bad thing.
Getting close caused attachments and he couldn’t have that with
people – especially Roza. Her dog on the other hand… he could
grow as attached to Jadia as much as he wanted. Dogs don’t
speak, so she wouldn’t be able to tell his secrets.
The smirk on his face made his eyes twinkle with mischief, and
he grinned like a fool at Roza. “I know someone who could
out-drink you right in this very park, not even ten feet away
from you.” If it wasn’t too obvious, he meant himself. His magic
shed the alcohol off like it was nothing and he could drink just
as much as Roza if not more while still staying completely alert
of his actions so he could finish his job quickly. This had to
be his favorite assignment by far. Not only did he get to kill
someone, who was quite attractive might he add, but he also got
a drink.
His strong hands ran through the dog’s soft fur, scratching her
exactly where she wanted as her leg was kicking nonstop. It
roused a deep chuckle out of Shane, thoroughly enjoying the
companionship of a dog. Perhaps he would get one too. But a dog
that got big, that could be dangerous. He didn’t need a soft
cuddly dog running around his apartment with its mind set on
sleeping and eating. He wanted one like him; one that would kill
but was also extremely good-looking too.
At the mention of his pockets, Shane immediately tensed up, but
soon relaxed not wanting to draw a lot of attention to himself.
He shook his head and looked up from Jadia, hands still
scratching behind her ears. “Just some money,” He said with a
smile. It wasn’t a complete lie; he did have money in his
pockets, but not the normal amount. It was just a couple grand,
nothing too flashy—for him at least.
Shane returned his attention back to the dog, patting her back a
few times before he gently pushed her off and stood up. He
noticed Roza rub her arm, a tell-tale sign of being
uncomfortable – and he didn’t blame her. She was a well-known
model, it was a wonder she hadn’t been bombarded with fans yet.
But he could see, as the park attracted more and more people,
some of them with their attention completely placed on her,
spotting a group of girls begin pulling out autograph books. He
smirked as Roza began to complain, her Irish accent coming out
strong as she became frustrated and irritated. It was cute,
watching her face get red as she rambled on with that voice of
hers.
After a light chuckle, Shane nodded his head, making his way to
the exit of the park. “How about that drink after?”
