The Lost Pack

The Ruins of the Elder Wolf Pack
--- Quote ---
> In the days prior to the great apocalypse, and for many more
glorious reunions, the home of the elder wolves and shifters was
a beautiful home. The fields were lush and the wildlife was
always revered. Life flourished even when war beckoned. The
great wolves and animals of the pack lands were always
protective of their home, and would fight to the last breath to
defend their familys. It was a place of freedom and growth,
where even the mightiest of nomadic creatures could find respite
for but a minute, and have a break from the tedium of anger and
violence.
>
> But...
>
> It wasnt always that way back in those forgotten days. Many
wolves, and invaders, were destroyed in conflicts between packs,
or others. Great wars rose and the clans all separated: Fearing
the others were going to attack, or invade. These dark days were
among the most horrendous in mortal memory, and when the last
chief; the last alpha, ceased their claim, and gave away their
nature, everything changed. The pack lands, the wolf home, was
forsaken for greener battlefields, greater heights of power, and
more luxurious lives. The lands were overrun by wildlife;
becoming a sanctuary to the flora and fauna of the deep jungles,
and in several years, its location was thought lost forever.
>
> The dangerous creatures of the forest took over the wolves
territory in no time; claiming burrows and dens as their own,
and in the end, none but the bravest few would venture deep
enough to even stumble upon the remnants of the great elder
wolves. Let alone know what it was they had found. A terrible
loss for the descendants, and the still living members of the
packs. The ruins of their old home, would end up nothing more
than a dark, dank, and dangerous jungle hideaway for the most
abominable creatures of the mythic woods.
>
> If one found the lost lands of the elder wolves, and if that
person were to look hard enough, to see deep enough, and to feel
strong enough... They might just witness something truly
miraculous and wonderful... The still imbued impression of a
massive wolf, laying under the arms of a giant ancient tree. A
reminder for those who would know, and an eternal resting place
for one of those forgotten wolves.
>
> Travelers and hunters; entities from unknown, all worthy
enough to find the shrine to purity and heart, would have but
scratched the surface on the wealth that once rested there. None
of the elder wolves had ever left behind treasure, or money, or
fame for their kin and brood, but with each generation that
passed, and with each lost member, they bestowed upon each other
the greatest of gifts. Their love, and their devotion to a life
of value...
>
> Too bad those werent the things remembered...
>
> When the wolves went to war, even the females, the mothers,
the elderly, were among the flock of enemies. The entire pack;
against invaders, intruders, or prey, as well as against another
pack, would act as one, and kill anything that threatened them.
Their thirst for bloodshed was near limitless once a frenzy and
battle had started, and even the most ancient of the proud
creatures was bound by some instinctual law when their lands
were in danger.... but these creatures were easily able to
defend what was theirs....
>
> Many of the great beasts was not merely a wolf, not merely a
werewolf or shifter. Many of the ancients and eldest, were
gifted and beyond mere beasts of mortal planes. Some were gifted
with wings; like massive eagles with fur, these creatures were
among the most noble of all their lands. Some were trained to
shift faster, to fight smarter, and to adapt quickly, which made
them perfect for protecting their lands. Some though... Some
exceeded mere explanations, and had reasons for existing beyond
the pride of the wolf pack. One of these majestic and terrible
carnivores was a god reborn. An ancient and dangerous myth-beast
known as Fenrisulfr. Commonly known as Fenrir, or the Fenris
wolf. That great wolf-creature was among the alphas of the great
packs, and his raw strength afforded those under his protection
a great many advantages while in combat or under siege.
>
> As one was a god; seemingly to balance the world, another
alpha evolved, and then another, as each of the wolf lords
became something far more. More diving, more devilish, and more
powerful with every coming day, these alphas were the reason for
the destruction and loss of their packs. They were so power
hungry, so greedy, so in love with the pursuit of power, that
when their families needed, they no longer cared... Or thats
what the fae histories would show.. For none truly know what
drove all of the alphas away, and let the uncontrolled demise of
the wolves happen.. But some would claim that the Alphas were
the reason, and that even now they sit idly by and watch as
their descendants rot and fade.
>
> Some things are certain, and some are unknown. For none but
the living members of the pack lands know, and none but those
few, ever see one another. The great home has been forgotten,
the wolves all but gone, and with the saddest of hearts, the
world wishes for their return. The soil and sky all plead for
the wonder of the ancient guardians of the land to return.
Wishes... are a fickle thing. It could mean a lot for a wish to
be granted; it could fix all the problems, but with a wish left
un-granted, the true worth of whats lost can be learned.
>
> Perhaps the equation was balanced, and no matter the want for
the wolves, there was just no way for them to ever rise again.
The clearings and meadows of old, the forest floor and
flourishing hues of green in every direction, would have no
answer to the whispered prayer... Not until there was another
imbalance to be corrected. Not until there was another flaw that
needed fixing. Not until they were beyond wanted, but truly
needed.
--- End Quote ---
These words were the last words wrote about the great wolf pack;
never read, but cast into the depths of the unknown with the
memory of the ancient gathering grounds. They were to be a
eulogy for the dead, and the forgotten. They were supposed to
be... the end
Things have a funny way of changing over time...
------------------------------------------------
In the dense growth of the dark forest; like a ghost against
obsidian, a flitting form raced through the territory with a
purpose. The near luminous white shadow moved with such speed,
such agility, and such grace, that the creatures in the forest
barely knew it had ever been there. Not a single branch was
broken, no homes or burrows disturbed, and no prints left in the
dark soil. Only the creature could be seen; a massive ivory wolf
against the jade and dark emerald backdrop of the ancient
forest, and yet none of the wild creatures seemed to care. A
feeling of comfort and a sense of righteousness ebbed and flowed
from the dazzling beast as it dashed through green leaves, and
leaped over massive logs.
Its eyes were a radiant sea of turquoise and teal; the only
remaining facet of its legacy, and its body was tense with the
muscles of a warrior. Its massive jaw hung open slightly; razor
sharp fangs adorning its majestic features, and its almost fluid
tail swished behind its moving form. It flitted between trees
and over obstacles with ease; each turn and twist a casual
necessity, as it raced headlong towards a single location. Its
legs pumped and propelled it forward faster and faster as it
began to hasten its steps, and grow eager for its arrival.
The beast, Fenrir, Raisinobu, moved with pure determination and
anxiousness, as he neared the great packs former home. He
narrowed his glowing eyes and focused on each step, as he
exploded through the final set of narrow trees, and landed
amidst the small clearing where his former family had lived. His
steps slowed to a walk; barely registering in his mind that he
was in fact walking, as his nose lowered, and sadness found his
features. The grip of sorrow was like an iron choker, and as
Raisinobu found the tree and the impression, he whimpered and
lowered himself onto the soft earth. He stared at the softly
compacted soil where he had vanished before. The place where ha
had left, and his love had thought him lost.
He remembered it each day, and thought of it each night, but in
the eternal wasteland of the ether. Days, and nights would last
as long as one wanted them to. Rai pressed his nose into the
tree's outstretched root, and with a gentle whine, he tried
futilely to push it away. Trying in vain to protect just that
one spot from the encroaching forest.
He would lay there; where he had died and been forgotten, while
the world continued aging, and the forest overwhelmed him. He
would lay there until the end of time if necessary. In that
spot, he was home, and never again did the great beast wish to
leave.... Never again would he forsake his family...

Trinity lounged in a haggard old tree that barely looked sturdy
enough to support her. It wasn’t an overly comfortable tree, but
at least she was up off of the ground, a place where she felt
more vulnerable than secure. Her red and black naturally
highlighted hair flowed softly in the wind. Trinity was no
longer in those rebellious teenage years, she had grown into a
strong independent woman and no one had crossed her paths in
years. Yet, unlike her weak mother, she didn’t grow lonely; if
anything she got stronger. Without the distraction of others she
was able to hone her powers and felt almost indestructible. A
black tail suddenly flopped in front of her face causing her to
jump lightly and then snarl up at the beast that rested a few
thin branches above her. It was her shadow animal, Dyonta. She
had changed the name of the cat to that of her mother’s dark
twin for Trinity admired the way that her mother had been put
through so much torture for her twin. Trinity full believed that
her mother, Bree, deserved every bit of pain she had felt. “Hey!
Watch yourself.” She grumbled and her that cat snort back at her
disobediently. Yet, she moved her tail none the less.
Dyonta was much different than her mother’s spirit animal,
Aaliyah. Dyonta, in a sense, was Trinity’s spirit animal, for
her former boyfriend had brought the animal from the confides of
her heart. Yet, unlike with Bree, Dyonta didn’t simply appear;
it took an incredible amount of concentration to bring the cat
out of her body and she was fully made of shadows meaning that
in a sense she wasn’t..real. She could walk through trees and if
Trinity wanted she could cause the cat to vanish back into her
body. Yet if Trinity took any damage, Dyonta took the same
amount of damage. If Trinity died, Dyonta died. Just as if Bree
died, Aaliyah died.
Bree never really died though, did she? Trinity thought angrily
to herself. Though it had been many years since she had seen her
mother, her fury for the woman was stronger than ever. The woman
had been no mother. All she did was mope and run off allowing
Trinity to have no sense of security. Her train of thought was
cut off suddenly by a low hiss made by Dyonta, a warning.
Sitting up in attention the old tree she was in creaked loudly
as though saying if she bounced again the very branch she was
sitting on would snap.
It didn’t take Trinity long to see what Dyonta had growled at,
however, as she noticed a massive black wolf sitting just a few
trees away from them. She hadn’t even noticed the massive animal
come, but almost immediately she realized this wasn’t a typical
wolf. For one, it was far too large, and two, wolves hardly
traveled alone. Plus her mother had shifted into a similar shape
a few times before though it was much smaller than the beast
before her. A whimper from the animal caused her to roll her
eyes and turn back to the lake and her thoughts. Just a sad
little animal just like my mother had been. How typical. There
was no one strong in this world anymore besides herself it
seemed.
Trinity couldn’t dive back into her thoughts, however, because
just as she would find a thought to trail on about and think
about another cry would enter her ears and cause her to roll her
eyes. After about four tries she decided that an action had to
be taken. Jumping off of the branch suddenly, the limb bounced
perilously as though trying to decide if to break or not and
then finally calmed down. Dyonta followed her immediately,
crouching down before the massive wolf and hissing, the black
panther was about a foot smaller than him. Trinity eyed him
silently for a moment with her differently colored blue eyes.
“Stop moping or leave.” Trinity said heartlessly to the creature
that she knew wasn’t just some typical wolf. As though to shove
some fear into his heart she allowed a few wisps of her electric
shadows to seep from her skin and zap the air. After seeing that
“freak show” most beings would leave and she expected the same
of this creature.

The ancient wolf; still clad in the guilt of his own family's
loss, whimpered repeatedly at the base of the ancient tree. The
limbs above shed sporadic leaves, and occasionally the wooden
limbs would scrape together in the light breeze. Emitting a
light screech that would wake the wilderness nearby from its
patient slumber. As the elder wolf rested its head, and
attempted to rest its heart after such an expedition to and from
the ether, a sound from above nearly shattered his resolve to
remain in the old home. A hiss; as if the tree itself was
speaking and urging Raisinobu to leave, flitted downward to the
wolf's ears, and in his saddened state, he almost believed it
was the tree.
His thoughts were shifted however, when a large black cat
dropped down in front of him, and a peculiar young woman landed
nearby. Her voice; so familiar in so many ways, caught him by
surprise, and before he could find his own and return words, he
realized what wasnt immediately apparent before. As he rose;
both sets of legs stretching, his body encroaching upon nine
feet in length, the massive wolf teetered on the edge of sanity
for a brief instant. The animal, the woman, the smell... He
almost feared his suspicions.. Feared the fact that the woman
was too much like the woman he lost to be a coincidence.
She was there, at the old home in the old tree, and she had both
a shadowy spirit animal, as well as the near indistinguishable
smell of the wilderness. A scent he had memorized so many ages
ago. Something impossible to fake, or imitate.
With a light growl; an accusation without words, his head
lowered and his eyes made contact with the reflection of his
great muzzle in the woman's own. He thought for a moment as she
stared angrily at him, and with a slight twitch of his tail, an
unearthly voice left his massive jaws.
"Who are you... to tell me what to do?"
The words were simple, and yet they held a great power behind
them. As if the wind, each letter brought about a feeling like
apprehension before a storm. Barely noticeable however, was the
curious glare that the wolf cast the woman, as it hungrily
waited for an answer that may sate its desire for knowledge.

Trinity frowned lightly as the giant beast stood up. He was much
larger than she had anticipated and for a fraction of a second
rethought her actions. Yet her youth quickly dulled down what
many would have considered her smarts as she glowered at the
beast. She had no weapon, she didn’t believe in petty equipment
such as swords; she simply believed in the power of her own
soul. If she never gave up than she would always win. Unlike her
mother, her shadows did not fester inside the forest, instead
they lived solely within in her body. Yet just like Bree they
could sense her emotions and started to seep from her skin.
When she was a young child she remembered crying from the pain
of the shadows to the pain where she had thought about ending it
in any way possible. Just a child already thinking about
suicide! Naturally her whore of a mother did nothing to help
her, instead she was too busy moping over her last sex buddy
that had inexplicably left her. Over the years Trinity had
grown to cope with the feeling and now she hardly felt the
shadows pierce through her pores, the lightning the sparked
within the darkness caused the air to seem even more tense than
it already was.
If this man wanted to show how powerful he was and try to
intimidate her, then she could do the same thing as well. Her
differently colored blue eyes faded to a haunting black and the
skin of her arms seemed to be crawling with darkness now that
was lit up with red veins of lightning. Dyonta curled her lips
back at the man and snarled, thrashing her tail back and forth,
her claws extending. Trinity didn’t know how powerful this man
was, nor did she care, she demanded something and expected
results.
“I am Trinity and it would be best if you listened to what I
said, mutt.” She snarled out, losing all respect for wolves and
other canines after the way her mother had treated her. It was
only a blessing that Trinity had ended up with a cat-like spirit
because she would have been miserable if she had been forced
with a weak mutt.

Mutt, MUTT! The word echoed in Rai's mind as the woman tried to
assert her dominance, and show her power. He had, for one
minute, believed the female to be his lost love. Her presence,
her smell, even the animal were all so close. So near was the
reflection, that Rai was nearly convinced. Til she spoke again,
and her anger broke down the curiosity and built up a sudden
well of rage.
His massive jaws opened as a feral and awe inducing growl left
between dangerously sharp teeth, and his eyes once a crystal
like blue, suddenly flashed into sinister white orbs. His
elongated ivory body slowly began to change; tribal tattoos of
obsidian wrapping inch by inch around his form, and within a few
seconds there stood a nearly transformed beast. He looked as
though he were prepared for war; his giant paws now digging into
the earth below him, as his growl finally ceased and his power
began to flow forth.
Wave after wave of translucent energy began to expand outward
from the angered beast, and with a sinister slack jawed glare,
the immense wolf stepped closer to the woman. Her body was
emitting darkness; spewing shadows, creating warping clouds of
fuming and electrified blackness, and Rai didnt even realize the
similarity to Bree while enraged. His body twitched and a ripple
of power broke through the flesh, as two great wings stretched
into existence, and his twisted ebony and ivory fur began to
wave to and fro with an unnoticed breeze.
"You call me a mutt again little girl... and you will be an
early dinner... Your little cat will be just a nibble for
desert"
The voice that erupted from the wolf was so much more evolved,
so much more ferocious than even the visage of a feral beast,
that when the suddenly threatening words were brought into
reality, the nearby animals all began to hide. They fled to
their shelters, and waited for the tension to pass. The physical
pressure between Rai and the new woman was growing more and more
intimidating as the time passed, and it would only be a short
while before something broke. Before something gave...

A vicious shiver slid down her spine, a chill squeezed her
already cold heart. What was this emotion? Fear? Trinity
couldn’t help by smile and looked down upon herself, she had
never felt..scared. Not even when she had fought her mother.
Though her body trembled and deceived her, Trinity looked up
towards the man with narrowed eyes. “You kill me, dog, and the
moment my mother hears of it she will forever be after your
head. Do you hear me?” Well, at least dog was a step up from
mutt. She couldn’t help as the insult left her lips and though
she continued to stand strong knowing that the moment she bowed
to this creature, her life would be over with. And what would
happen then?
If Bree got news that her daughter had been killed would she
honestly try and look for the killer? Especially after
everything Trinity had done to her. Plus it wasn’t like Bree had
ever been a good mom to her before, so why should she start
after her daughter had been killed? Maybe she would find it a
relief to have her bratty daughter squashed from this Earth, it
probably would take a lot of stress from her shoulders. Maybe
Trinity had to deal with this on her own much like everything
else, though at least she could use the reputation of her mother
for her own good. “Do you hear me?” She shouted again allowing
all the pent up fury and rage bubble to her surface. A few zaps
of red electricity landed just inches from the wolves paws
sending out a spray of furious sparks.
“Bree will find you and she won’t stop until I’m avenged.” She
snarled, her eyes glistening black as she said the words with as
much conviction as possible. Hopefully her mother was still
known enough to be recognized in this era though she had dropped
inexplicably off of the Earth as she did from time to time.
Trinity was sure that she would make another grand appearance
someday, however, for Bree was quite the drama queen and often
needed to supplement her loneliness somehow. It astounded
Trinity how the woman even had so many people that loved her,
because Bree sure as hell didn’t see it. Oh, woe is me, mom.
Her hatred for her mother wasn’t the problem at hand, however.
It was praying that this beast knew who the hell Bree was and
how powerful the woman was because Trinity knew that if she had
to fight with this man she would be in way above her head. As
though confirming her thoughts, Dyonta spat out another hiss.
Dogs and cats never did mix well.

Rai's anger was so potent, so visible, that between the menacing
growls, and coursing through his veins, small currents of energy
would randomly break away, and twitches of power would spring
forth. First in small jolts, or arcs, but as his anger boiled
over and he prepared to teach the young creature a lesson, there
was more and more jagged lightning-like ripples of energy
dancing across his fur-covered flesh.
In reply to the dangerous power that began to seep through the
cracks, Rai himself had begun to grow more and more tense:
Muscles preparing for movement, and mind readied for the actions
to follow, as he lingered on the edge of darkness. He could
surely destroy the youngling with ease; her small shadow pet as
well, but would that suit such an ancient and powerful creature?
Would it be the right thing to do?
Pondering over the ideas for a moment; his eyes never blinking
as he stared at the woman before him, Raisinobu was so startled
by the words he heard, that he didnt even notice as his jaw fell
open, and the anger vanished entirely. The word mom enticed no
reaction at all, but when the word "Bree" fell from between the
youth's lips, the great wolf was staggered and taken back.
Surely it was a different woman, a different creature. There was
no way she was talking about 'her'. The Bree that Rai longed for
and returned for.
"Bree?" In a tone suiting his confusion; a question without more
words, Rai leaned back on his haunches and sat casually before
the obviously scared young woman. His anger subsided as he
wondered and hoped, but in the absence of that crashing rage,
sorrow and sadness began to again attack his soul. With each
passing moment; witnessing the girl's power and her tenacity,
Rai had been considering her relation, her similarities, but in
the instant she spoke of her mothers name, Rai felt truly
dumbstruck.
"If this is her daughter, then what do I do? If Bree still
lives, should I find her?" The questions raced so fast through
the great beast's mind, that he hardly had time to think of
anything else. The world around him seemed to dim and vanish
from existence, as he peered endlessly into the daughter's
eyes... and there, in that moment, in that dangerous stare, he
saw what he was looking for, and found the answer he needed.
All the similarities weren't enough at first; and the word
mother only confused him further, but when he witnessed the
scared gaze of the woman shift at the mention of Bree, and in
the face of his anger, he realized there was no error in his
suspicions. She was in fact the daughter of the woman he sought,
and the only living creature he still cared for.
but where was Bree... Where was her mom?
Rai simply stared into space as his anger all together vanished,
and his massive paws once again stopped their dangerous trek
towards the female and the pet. He had no urge to fight anymore,
but instead he wanted answers. He wanted to know so many things
from the girl. Who exactly was she? Where did she come from? How
did she know of this place?.... but mostly... Where was bree?
He feared asking the questions, so instead he continued his
patient glare and waited for the creature to speak of her own
will. Without his anger driving her to act.

A triumphed smirk curved the woman’s lips at her achievement.
Though Bree had been a horrible mother, she had been a great
fighter. Well, Trinity knew that from personal experience as
could be seen by the large scar that stretched up her forearm.
Not many knew of the devastating fight between the two women of
the shadows, somehow they had managed to keep it on the
down-low; perhaps it was because they were both loners. Needless
to say, both had left the fight in tatters, Trinity remembered
clearly the deep cuts that she had caused on her mother’s
abdominal area and she was sure they had scared just as
Trinity’s wounds. Normally shadow people didn’t scar very much
or at all, though if pitted against one another it seemed to
have an opposite effect. Perhaps it had something to do with
going against one’s own species, either way Trinity didn’t
know…nor did she care. One day she would defeat her mother.
Yet for now she had to be grudgingly grateful to the woman as
she stared at the silent beast before her who prodded her with
questions with a simple glance. Her body still shook softly,
deceiving her, though she looked upon the man proudly. She hated
her parents, yet she was proud to be a woman of the shadows
hoping that she could live up to the elegance, strength, and
danger a shadow woman held. Nevermind the mysterious beauty they
also held. Trinity could almost be conceited for she knew she
was strong, yet there were many aspects to life that she was
also humble about. Relationships for example- she had been in
one relationship that had ended a long time ago and since then
she had been riding solo. Unlike, well, her whore mother.
“Yupp. Bree.” She said dragging her mother’s name out
sarcastically. She couldn’t help it and though she was a bit
harsh with her hatred, could anyone truly blame her? Trinity had
been raised in a life of solitude, she had never known her
father, and her mother seemed more concentrated on her own life.
All the young woman had wanted as a child was to interact with
the other young ones, though she had gotten ripped away from
them at a young age and was bitter ever since.
An awkward silence fell upon the two of them as the wolf begged
her quietly for answers to questions which she did not know,
while she waited for the man to leave as she had commanded. Then
it struck her and she couldn’t help but laugh as her eyes
widened. The darkness had seeped back into her pores and her
eyes had returned to their odd colors; one being a brilliant
light blue like her mothers and her other being a dark ocean
blue, apparently much like her father’s whose name had been
Gareth. Apparently. “Oh! You were one of her fuck buddies, eh?”
Trinity could help but laugh again.
“Don’t tell me that she is the one you are moping over. Oh
please let me keep my respect for you and tell me that you were
moping over someone else.” Trinity grinned and leaned forward
towards the large wolf. “You want to know where she is I bet,
huh? Well I can tell you exactly.” She ushered him closer, her
grin growing wicked. “I bet she’s on some corner, whoring
herself around because no one cares enough about the bitch to
stick around.” Her words dripped with every bit of acidic hate
that she felt for her mother and her eyes burned with the
emotion.

There was a loud snap, and before it was thought possible, Rai
held the woman by her throat against the large tree. His
movement; from steps forward, to the attack, and the
transformation were so fast the eye couldnt catch them, and the
wolf man was suddenly ten times as angry as before. In the
moment she spoke ill of Bree, Rai had broken, and his energy had
exploded outward in an invisible and unnoticed shockwave. When
it returned; carrying the full force of his nature back into his
body with incredible force, Rai was literally torn from his
wolf-guise, and his now naked human form held the creature aloft
against the dented wood. He was coated in a sheen of blood; as
if his wolf form had actually split open upon entry, and his
dazzlingly blue eyes were now a crystalline and reflective
silver. Shining a mirror image of the suspended woman back at
her.
There was no way of explaining how he had shifted so fast; the
task so grueling and painful, but more than one explanation
would have made sense. Either his anger had forced the change by
its self, or when he was pushed to greater levels and
concentrated on his power enough, he could actually pull his
natural form free from the wolf hide. Instead of transforming
back, holding the wolf form inside and the human outside, he
simply split the wolf in two, and all that remained was the man.
His free hand was clenched so tightly that the bones in his
knuckles began to break one by one, and his jaw was so harshly
locked into a snarl that his teeth had begun to chip from the
pressure. His heart raced and all of his muscles were on fire
with anticipation.
Yet he did not squeeze, or act again, while the woman was held
in his iron grip, nearly eight feet up the tree. He simply
stared into her eyes, and flashed a warning to the nearby shadow
kitten. If that pantheresque feline moved, he would have no
problem ending the master before the pet could reach her.
With that confidence in mind, his jaw loosening to let him
speak, Rai lowered his gaze, and focused his train of thought.
"You may speak ill of yourself.. or of me.. or of anyone else
you want little girl.. But speak one more word in that
disgusting and horrible tone, with so much as a hint of an
insult towards Bree.. and ill squeeze til your head explodes,
and your crushed soul is sent spiraling into the eternal
midnight of the abyss... Do You Understand Me!?"
He didnt care if she heard him, but his tone and intentions were
clear as a bell even if she didnt want to listen. He would kill
her with ease should she break the silence with another insult,
and Rai would feel no worse about it, than he would killing
anyone else who encroached upon his memory of Bree. To him, she
had done no wrong... Even when he knew what wrongs had in fact
been done... He would defend her, her honor, her soul, til his
eternal slumber finally beckoned.

It took Trinity’s mind a moment to catch up to her body as it
was suddenly pinned against the tree. Even the darkness within
her body had hushed momentarily, not understanding what had
happened. She didn’t even have a second to blink before she was
held against the tree, the oxygen suddenly struggling to make
its way to her lungs as her fingers grasped the man’s forearm.
Man?! It even took her another moment to realize that the wolf
had disappeared. Damn mom, Trinity thought quietly to herself.
At least her mother had a good taste in men. If it had been any
moment except for that one, she would have laughed, but laughing
was far less important than breathing itself. Her legs attempted
to kick the man away from her, though the attempts were futile
and she finally hung limp.
Yet the dark rage that boiled within her body had begun to brew,
a rage so fierce that if she got enraged enough she couldn’t
control herself. It was one of the consequences of being a
shadow woman. Her eyes darkened as she was forced to star into
the man’s silver eyes, Dyonta crouched just a few feet away ears
pinned back against her head and tail whipping furiously waiting
for her chance to attack. She would be patient and wait for
Trinity’s command. She couldn’t help but make weak sounding
gasps trying to gather as much air within her body as she could,
she hated this feeling, nor had she ever felt…disciplined
before. She had never had parents to do such a thing.
Trinity had to admit though, the way she heard his bones snap
and the way small drips of blood slid down his body terrified
her. She was really truly scared her for possibly the first time
in her life. That wasn’t including the certainty in his gaze
that he would uphold his promise if she spoke ill of her mother
one more time that he would kill her. A moment of silence paused
between them before Trinity grinned slowly, narrowing her eyes
upon the man. Her grip tightened as though forcing him to hold
her there. “Yes…Let me…cherish…love…and bow to….a woman
that…wasn’t there for her….own…daughter.” Trinity spoke out as
strongly as she would though the sentence was broken between
gasps for breath.
In that moment her ferocity boiled over. How dare this man
assume that Bree was some perfect woman. He didn’t know the gist
of it. He didn’t TRULY know Bree, or maybe he did and maybe that
was why he left. Yet he didn’t know how poor of a mother she had
been. The darkness seeped from the skin of her hands, coiling
onto that of the man, coiling along his arm in a snake like
fashion. Pure darkness itself lifted in multiple places of the
serpent-like line and stabbed into the skin of this man. Red
electricity shocked the wounds as she kicked his abdomen
struggling to get free.
“Do it!” She screamed, reaching a single hand out to try and
claw at his face while her other hand her desperately onto his
arm trying to loosen the grip on her neck. “Kill me! And
though…Bree and I aren’t..on good terms…I can guarantee…you will
lose any chance…of EVER…winning her back..” Trinity couldn’t
help but smile maliciously at the man. “A wolf….is
ALWAYS…protective…of their pups.”
