The Forest of Malveira (RP) {Feel free to jump in if you'd

The forest of Malveira is a (mostly) peaceful place. It’s serene
surroundings are livened by the presence of the inhabitants of
Malveira. Since the installment of peace agreements by
Sylvianne, the unofficial leader and overseer of Malveira, the
Elves, Djinn, and Onocentairua have put aside any differences
they previously had. For 200 years, the forest has been
prosperous, even with every Samhain that has passed. However,
Sylvianne feels as though something is off. To the south is the
dark forest. It holds every ill-intentioned creature that has
been banished from Malveira, and then some. As of late, more and
more of them have been pushing their boundaries and stepping
onto the grounds of the Malveira Forest. Because of this, she
suspects that something has gone awry, and although the
residents haven’t fully noticed, Sylvianne has done her best
thus far to keep every being safe. Her grasp is slipping. Buried
deep in the cave, The Lich is reawakening from the slumber
Sylvianne put him in. Though she can sense this, she cannot be
entirely sure, and she fears the day that he comes back to
destroy not only her, but the forest itself.
For now, she’ll let the Malveirans live in peace and without
worry. But soon enough, they’ll have to face the danger, and
they will have to fight to protect what’s theirs. Or, surrender
to a cruel master.
(Post at will! If I find a need for a posting order, I’ll make
one after I see the gist of things.)

Kael woke up in the early morning, before the rise of the sun as
he usually did, The rest of his pack were still sleeping. He
always woke up as the first, he didn't use his alpha position to
force the others to wait with their breakfast, so instead he got
up as the first to do his things. He stretched out letting every
bone in his body crack. He walked out of his hut stepping onto
the plains, where the grass was wet with the morning dew. He
walked towards the stream, and on the way there he encountered a
couple of wild critters and a single deer. He shifted into wolf
form in a vortex of black fur and green energy. From the minor
patch of twisted ground he stepped forward as a wolf. Black fur
and yellow eyes. He pounced forward onto the deer and took it
down without any major trouble. He shifted back in the same kind
of manner as before and grabbed a hold of the hindlegs of the
dead creature and hauled it under a tree and hid it underneath a
small sheet of leaves, branches and grass. He walked towards the
stream once again and bent over drinking some of the water. He
dove into the stream and looked up. He could see the sun rise
slowly through the trees in the horizon. He washed the blood off
his face and body and remained in the stream for a while.

Startled awake from the distant crowing of a rooster (where was
there even a rooster in this forest anyways?!), Jehenna rolled
from her bed mat. With a stretch, she looked down at her
nightgown. Oh no. This wouldn't do. Not to go out to fetch
water. Oh no no no. Shaking her head, she stood and searched her
dresser for something to wear. She came up with nothing. On to
her armoire she moved, picking through it until she came upon a
pair of dark brown riding pants (the only pair of pants she
really owned), and a navy coat that Jehiel had found for her.
Pulling on a ruffly white shirt, along with her pants and a pair
of riding boots, Jehenna stealthily tiptoed to the flaps of
their tent. She peeked over her shoulder one last time, making
sure that she hadn't woken Jehiel, and stepped out into the
chill of the early morning air.
--------------------------
Teapot in her fair hand, Jehenna started on her trek towards the
river. She would more than likely be back by daylight... As long
as she didn't have to go around Djinn territory. It would be her
luck not to find a to pass on through. Luckily for her, they
were all still asleep. As fast as she could, Jehenna weaved
through their huts, almost ceasing her breathing in the fear
that she may possibly wake them. And that, she knew, could end
very badly. She looked back cautiously, making sure that her
many footsteps through the village of the Djinn went unheard
before she continued to the stream. With a quick, mostly blinded
glance, Jehenna knelt down. Sinking the centuries old teapot
below the water's surface, she held it there as it chugged water
thirstily. Sensing she wasn't alone, Jehenna brought her gaze
upwards, only to realize that there was a man bathing in the
stream. With a nervous, more than scared laugh, she inched
backwards, getting to her feet with a shaken look. "Oh.. Um...
I'm sorry... I'll just be---" She took a look backwards as her
feet already moved to the path her eyes had laid out. "Going."

He sighed softly and his nose twitched slightly. Someone had
entered his territorial grounds. But just as swiftly as that the
person had exited them once again. He opened his eyes and they
stared directly at Jehenna. He swam over softly towards the bank
and didn't take his eyes off her. He was indeed the exact
opposite of a morning person. In the mornings he is best left at
his business. He pulled his muscular arms out of the water and
pulled himself up. He shook his head and water splashed
everywhere from his dreadlocks and his pelt. He took a deep
inhale through his nose, expanding his nostrils to get every
tiny bit of scent in. "Onocentairua" he said with the exhale and
stepped closer to her. His eyes fixed on her as he circled a
bit.
He now stood between her, and his prey, standard instincts,
however it was almost a box-in situation. she could take off in
three different directions. first one, was to go directly the
opposite of the djinn territory, and through the river, which
would be foolish. The other would be straight through the
grounds of their camp. Third option was not much of an option it
was through him. And the final route would take her around the
very farthest edge of djinn territory sending her on a very long
trip. When she started trotting off was the time he took a deep
breath and let out a bonechilling howl towards the skies. He
began following her with a firm tread on the ground. He spoke
softly and very protectively "What would the Onocentairua be
doing, going through our homeland, MY territory, whilst my clan
is vast asleep?" his voice carried a bit of a snarl to it. He
wasn't goíng to shift, he was looking for answers.

All was silent in the territory of Konowa Swiftdragon, not even
the insects dared disturb him as he prowled the vicinity that
was given to him by the animals and, unknowingly, by his people.
Being a familiar presence, however, none shied away from him as
he stalked through the dense brush though a few did look away as
he met their eyes and returned the challenge; some sensed his
mood and scurried away in something like fear though it was out
of self-preservation more than anything. Still, it was a fear of
a sort. He growled when birds got too close, snarled when deer
bumped him with their noses, and kicked as the wolves and large
cats tried to entice him in a game of chase. Some bit back which
only fueled his rising anger. By now, most knew to avoid him
when he got like this but there was always some younger
generation of animal that wanted to show off, and it didn't end
well for them most of the time. His brown hair, usually laid out
in a single-braid, was in the familiar fashion but loose and
unkempt; his forest green eyes with the rings of brown seemed to
smolder like coals in a fire two hours dead. Unfortunately,
Konowa had a rage that hadn't been quenched during the
skirmishes and fights with the other creatures and no doubt
wouldn't be drained until he lay dead. But, what was so unusual
about this rage, was how quiet it was.
Nonetheless, he stomped and was rather unelf-like as he made his
way through the forest. In his right hand was a training sword
made of wood, in the left another one but it was more like a
bundle of sticks, though it was a cane of sugar and was deadly.
The wooden sword was notched in a few places but otherwise was
healthy and was shaped like an actual elven blade instead of his
own falchion. The wood was made from ironwood and washed from a
substance that Konowa had found for himself by accident, which
made the wood stronger than any steel. Such was its potency that
trees with trunks that was larger than five men in a circle,
from fingertip to fingertip, was cut down by it; such
destruction lay farther back in his wake. The sugar cane stick
was not quite so dangerous but it had sent many a creature
scurrying away when it came falling down on their bodies,
nothing fatal but would sting for several days.
Stopping so suddenly, the wind left from his wake rushed past
him, dancing with his hair, which seemed to tighten in its braid
and become controlled; his eyes growing calm and peaceful. His
whole body posture change and he sighed, murmuring an apology to
the Forest and its creatures as he looked around him with a look
of disgust at the fact he lost control, again. Taking a deep
breath and slowly releasing it, he made his way back to his
little house carved inside a tree that was larger than twenty
men in a circle, stretching out from fingertip to fingertip. A
small house, indeed, but big enough for him.

Jehenna hurried to grasp the handle of her colonial teapot,
though her hurry wasn't hurried enough. Before she could even
get back to her feet, he was already at her feet. Even if she
had to fight right now she had no chance against him. He was
clearly bigger than her. What would she do? Besides, of course,
clunk him over the head with the teapot and run for her life, or
burn him alive. Either way, she was between a rock and a hard
place. Now, she stepped backwards her eyes not pulling
themselves from him. "I-- I was just--" Holding the teapot up
for emphasis, she stared at him, more scared than she had ever
been in her entire life. "Fetching the water. Be-because brother
was sleeping and he gets angry when I go out alone and sometimes
it's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for--" She nearly
finished stumbling and scrambling through her words when she hit
the tree behind her. "PERMISSION!" She let out a loud squeal as
the teapot flew from her hands, and she knelt down, cowering
beneath her hands as they covered her head. Behind them, the
teapot fell back to earth with a hearty clunk, it's contents now
completely gone if they weren't emptied before. "I meant no
harm, I come through here all the time while everyone's
sleeping. It's just so that I can get home before anyone thinks
I've gone, that's all! I'm sorry! Please don't hurt me!" From
beneath her hands, she peeked up at him, her face just as
innocent as ever.

Kael walked over to her slowly and picked up the teapot and
looked directly at her. He walked over to the bank and filled it
with the crystal clear waters. He stood up straight and walked
firmly towards her. He reached out and took her hand, pulling
her up to stand in front of him. He looked her over and sniffed
the air softly. "The Onocentairua, afraid of their wellbeing,
stepping through Djinn territory." He grinned softly and looked
her in the eyes. "let's get you home safely, the pack has
awakened and they wont ask questions first" He handed her the
teapot.
He looked at her his eyes going yellow and in a green vortex
with fur wrapping itself around him, he shifted to his wolf form
and turned towards the djinn camp. He looked back at her and
gestured for her to follow him. He walked through the forest and
arrived at the border to his land. He passed the border and gave
off a snarl to an adolescent male. light brown, with dark areas
in his fur. Invisible if you didn't know where to look, and what
to search for. He trotted through the camp where everyone was
staring at them, in their wolf form and human form alike. They
werent much for other races, and especially not those who had
not been given permission to enter, and even so, those who
walked straight through their little gathering of huts. He
walked through and arrived at the other side. He kept on walking
not looking back, He could see the sun rising more and more to
the east, as he was walking that way. He needed not to ask for
directions, he simply backtracked her own scent, and eventually
wound up right outside her tent.

Out of the trees, of all the trees, came a sort of... Sigh. It
was with this sigh that they all seemed to stretch, their
branches moving, rustling, and crackling. It was just past
daybreak, and already the forest was awake. A mist launched
itself from the trunks and condensed into an amorphous orb. It
swiveled from left to right, taking in it's surroundings as it
determined which way it should be headed. Off it went, floating
at a breakneck pace. It dodged branches from every direction
until it came upon a small clearing. It shifted to the right,
East, and proceeded farther towards not only the Elven
Commonwealth, but towards the forest beyond the commonwealth. In
her expeditious fashion, Sylvianne seemed to be there in no time
at all. But why would she choose to be there, of all the places
she could be right now? Easy. The man headed towards his home,
while Sylvianne had a liking for him, was beginning to become
erratic. And she couldn't have that. While he was away from
most everyone, his mannerisms just weren't sitting well with
her. He was off and she knew it, even if he didn't think she
did. Still headed for him, her voice reached him before her
materialization even could. "Going off your rocker again,
Konowa..?" she mused, swirling around him until her body turned
solid and stooped on a branch. Arms crossed, chin in hand, and
elbow on her knee, Sylvianne stared at him in wonderment. She
knew how living alone in the forest could get to a person.
Pushing herself away from the fallen trunk that she'd found
herself on, she ventured towards him without any hesitation. He
wouldn't be able to do anything to her anyways. Seeing as she
could disappear within the blink of an eye, Sylvianne generally
had nothing to worry about.

Jehenna stared up at him as his mood changed, surprised that
someone who was near to ripping her apart could actually crack a
smile and be understanding. Taking his hand, all she could do
was nod as she stood and reclaimed her teapot from his
gargantuan grasp. Jehenna had seen many things in her time, but
not once had she seen someone morph from human to beast. For
her, it was a sight to behold. Mezmerized her so, in fact, that
she almost didn't see Kael gesture for her to follow him. When
it finally did process in her head, her step gained a hint of
giddy up. She was surprised to see every member of the clan
awake and out of their shacks. It felt surreal, like a dream
that she had still to wake from. She even jumped lightly from
her shoes as she heard him snarl, and her eyes immediately
drifted to the waiting wolf.
Jehenna's eyes filled with worry as they made it past the border
and drifted farther from the camp. What if the guards were
already patrolling? Or, worse yet, what if Jehiel sensed she was
gone and had already awoken? Either of those meant bad things
for them. The patrols would be fine, so long as they were
farther away from camp, or they were in the mood not to care.
Luckily for them both, the whole camp was still dead quiet as
they reached it. She tilted her head as he walked straight to
her tent, trying to figure out how he figured out which one was
hers. Realizing he could trail her by scent, she shook her head
and knelt down to wrap her arms around his furry neck, uttering
thank yous by him so that they were the only two that could
hear. As she stood back up she took the bottom of the teapot
into her hands. Flames ignited and slithered around the bottom
to head the water inside as she smiled down at him. "Tea? It's
the least I could do..."

A breath left Konowa as he heard the voice of Sylvianne,
stopping him in his tracks. By now, he had already gotten
himself under control. Lowering his 'weapons' before just
dropping them, he bowed at the waist at the spirit. Though he
would speak, he wouldn't rise. "You know how it is, my Lady."
His excuse came out kind of lame, and he cringed inwardly before
apologizing for it. "Forgive me, I hadn't meant to leave my
house but it caught me unawares. I'd promise it wouldn't happen
again but I'm not a liar." His voice was hard as steel with a
will to match and both were just as unbending as the toughest
metal; his tone wasn't cold nor were they warm, but a neutral
tone that pronounced each syllable of each word, articulating
them as gracefully as he had bowed to her. Konowa was an Elf
despite his flaws and his actions to the contrary and everything
he did was graceful and so almost perfect it was hard to tell he
was... flawed. But, instead of the calm, patient gracefulness
his kind had, his was more predatory, like a cat stalking or a
wolf on the prowl. Maybe both were correct but both seemed
inadequate for him. His body was relaxed and tense at the same
time, like a spring coiling and uncoiling at the same time. His
almond-shaped eyes stared at the ground as his hair brushed
against his cheek, revealing the one pointed ear and the other
cut ear. "I am at your service, my Lady, as you know. Just call
upon me and I will be there. Is there anything I can do for you
at this time?"
