Snowing, again, as always, snowing, it never stopped. Sergeant
Joss Adams, paused and watched his squad shuffle past, each man
huddled into their thick wool long coats, looking utterly
miserable. Again in the snow, and again Alliance command failed
to equip their infantry properly, again. Shifting repeater, in
his arms so he was more cradling it, than carrying it, Joss
looked about, watching his breath turn to white fog. "Damn
snow." He turned go and join back up with his men when a glint
of light caught his eye. Walking over to the item, he crouched,
and set his weapon down, along with his helmet. "What is this.."
He murmed pulling what looked like a small metal desk from the
snow. AS he removed a glove and let his bare fingertips touch
the surface he was surprised by the warmth that eminated from
it. Hwever that did nothing to brace him for what happened
next...
Joss woke with a start, his face was drenched in sweat, his dark
hair plastered to his head. Looking around he sat up and let the
blanket fall revealing his bare chest which glistened with a
cold sweat. The embers of a dying fire caused a slight ruddy
glow to be cast over the young man' body. It took several
seconds for him to gain his bearings, and several more before he
could stir himself to move. again, the dream, the nightmare of
what he had been, before it happened, before she happened. The
sudden thought of the woman he called mistress made him smile
and roll out of his bed, and dress quickly. Perhaps he could get
her a few flowers from the garden before she woke. Throwing on
his boots, thick pants, and a warm coat, as well as the scarf
she had given him, Joss smiled. Even after the hellish winter
that brought him here, he still loved this time of year.
