Funny how silence brings about all sorts of thoughts. Often
times quiet on the outside just means extra noise on the inside.
As Rayne wandered around, awaiting word on his assignment, he
pondered how he got into this lifestyle, How he ended up a
glorified mercenary. Sure, his assignments were government
issued, but it was all the same. Escorts, Bodyguarding,
Assassinations... What made him any different? When he was a
young boy, eager to become a great warrior, was this the future
       he anticipated for himself?
As his thought's distracted him, his feet continued to move,
that was, until he accidentally bumped into someone. He surely
would have knocked the woman onto the ground, if not for his
quick reflexes. Snapping out of his daze in an instant, he
reached around quickly, allowing the woman to fall into his arm,
his hand gently catching her by the small of her back, and
lifting her back to her feet. "I'm sorry ma'am. I should pay
more attention to where I'm going." Rayne couldn't help but
wonder what the woman was doing all the way out here. Didn't
seem the kind of place someone would come to enjoy themselves.
But he didn't ask any questions. Instead, he took a step back,
respecting the invisible boundary that he had invaded when he
       ran into her.

Her arms wrap around his shoulders as his hand catches the small
of her back. How had she gotten so lost in her thoughts to not
have noticed his presence? Shoving the question to the back of
her mind, the woman looks up to her savior and smiles for a
second before clearing her throat and attempting to slip from
       his hands.
"Thank you for catching me. I'm sorry that I ran into you,
somehow I became engrossed in my thoughts." Hazel orbs take in
his facial features as her fingers memorize the outline of his
muscular shoulders and arms. His features made him seem like a
man who cared about his physic, even if women didn't notice it,
but for some reason she noticed. As hard as she tried not to,
       she couldn't help herself.

Rayne returned the woman's smile as he returned her safely to
her feet. The first thing he noticed in that moment was her
eyes. Not just the color, but the state they were in. She
appeared as if she had just popped of of a mindset that was just
as distracted as his own. They were gorgeous. Almost enough to
make the man forget that he was searching for his informant.
Almost... "I'm as much to blame." He told the woman with a
smile. "I wasn't paying attention either." He adjusted the two
blades on his left hip, and stood straight and proud. "My name
is Rayne." He said. Of course, Rayne was an assigned name. He
had gone by it for so long, he had all but forgotten the name he
was born with. He looked around at the wilderness that
surrounded them. "May I ask what brings you out into this area?
Doesn't seem to be much here." He knew that there was a small
town nearby, but from the direction in which the two made
contact, she didn't appear to be going to, or coming from that
       village.

The woman looked down to adjust the top of her skirt before she
returned her attention to the man in front of her. "I am Deanna,
I guess it's a nice pleasure to run into you." With a soft to
herself, her head turned off to her left almost in a state of
zoning out once more until his question caught her attention.
"I....I am in search of a person but I do not know where to
look. I know she isn't in the village, this place is much too
rural for her but I guess I got lost in my thoughts and wandered
in the wrong direction." A soft shrug moved the woman's slender
shoulders up and down, "I'll find her eventually. What are you
       doing here?"

Deanna... The name etched into the man's mind, permanently
associating it with the woman's face as he smiled "Pleasure's
all mine." He said in response. He enjoyed meeting people,
despite his somewhat antisocial profession. But it had prepared
him for many things. For example, he caught wind of the stammer
in the woman's voice when she said she was looking for someone.
It was most likely a protective measure. For that instant, she
was trying to decide whether or not to tell him. It was someone
important to her. It was probably a family member. Female. A
sister perhaps... His analytical skills had grown rather
proficient in the time he had worked for the government... And
then came her question. "I'm looking for someone as well... A
friend of mine." He decided it best not to say we was waiting on
an 'informant.' Words like that always brought about more
questions. "But I'm not really sure where to look either. I
wasn't given a specific place or time, I was just told to come
to this area." He looked around the wooded area calmly. "Care
for some company?" It was a lonely life. Rayne rarely had anyone
to travel with, so even if it was just for a few hours, he hoped
the woman would accept his offer.

He was looking for someone as well. How interesting for fate to
have brought them together, at this place of all
places.......but why would a person want to meet here? "I think
your company would be greatly appreciated right now. Searching
with help is always a lot better than searching alone." Hazel
eyes scanned the area behind the man before she turned her body
to scan the area behind her. "Which way should we start?"
Turning around once more, the woman looked up to his face with a
       half confused smile.

Rayne was glad that the woman accepted his offer. It would be
nice to have a companion for once; One that wasn't after a
target. It seemed Deanna didn't have much of a plan. She was
wandering aimlessly. That could easily result in death by thirst
or starvation if one wasn't careful. "Well I was going to check
out the village about a mile and a half that way." He pointed to
the northeast to demonstrate the direction. "I hear it's not
much, but it's the closest civilization to our location. Anyone
nearby would have to stop there for food and supplies." That
was, unless they had just arrived by airdrop, but there was no
need to mention that either. "What do you think?" Of course,
traveling on his own he could arrive at that location in twenty
minutes or less, but with the little lady he may have to slow
his pace a bit. But what did he have if not time? If anything,
it was headquarters fault for not giving him precise
       instructions...

Her head turns in the direction of his hand with a curious gaze.
She hadn't thought her sister would be in the village but then
again, anything could be possible. Plus she was a tad thirsty
and peckish. "I didn't even think about that. I guess that makes
sense....." Her words trail off as she returns her gaze to his
face before looking down for a second. What had she been
thinking? She couldn't continue wandering without any sense of
direction. She would end up getting herself killed by something
or some one. It couldn't hurt to have a companion for a small
amount of time. "Well I guess we better start toward the town,
its going to be sun down in a few hours." Giving the man a small
wave of her hand, she smiles and looks up for his movements.

As expected, the woman hadn't given much thought to her safety
in her search, further evidence that the person she was
searching for was high up on her list of priorities. It gave
birth to another thought as the two began to progress in the
direction of the town. "How long have you been wandering around
out here?" Rayne asked, as he dug into a small bag he carried on
his back and pulled out a bottle of water. He handed it to
Deanna with a smile. "It's easy to get dehydrated if you're not
careful and lose track of time." They walked for nearly two
hours, Rayne occasionally moving a branch out of Deanna's way,
or helping her to jump a gap in the ground. "So is it your
sister you're looking for?" He asked, growing tired of
wondering." As expected, his companion had slowed his progress
considerably. They were still less than halfway there, though
the trip had been far more enjoyable this way. There was a good
chance, however, that they would have to make camp before they
arrived. They could still close the distance at bit more though.
Their trip wouldn't take long in the morning.

She nods softly to his question, almost absent mindlessly; how
had he figured out it was her sister or that it could be a
family member? Maybe she didn't have a good enough poker face or
maybe she let something slip about who she had been looking for.
"My older sister. I never really got the chance to meet her when
I was old enough to remember her but I found old photos and
things from our childhood together and I want to see how she has
been doing and what she's like now." But most of all she wanted
to know what happened that made her sister separate from the
rest of the family...."What are you doing here? Searching for
someone or just on a secluded vacation?" A small smile pulls at
the corner of her lips as she looks up to him for an answer.
