Insomnia knelt down by the small brook, shoving blood stained
hands into the cool water. She scrubbed, frowning at red tinged
water-she was never usually this messy. But animals always
fought back, and the deer he had nabbed in this little clearing
seemed to have a lot of fight in it. She cupped her hands
together-now washed clean of the blood, and collected water,
bringing it up to her face to wash any remaining blood off. She
did this a few times, then sucked the water into her mouth and
gargled with it, trying to get rid of the after taste of the
deer. Animal blood always tasted wrong to her, but after two
weeks without any blood, you had to take what you could get.
Or it could result in another massacre like when she had first
       been turned...
She quickly shook the memory out of her head, standing and
brushing off her bare knees. She checked her white clothing for
any blood marks, thankfully free of them, and looked around. She
thought she spotted something in the distance, a figure kneeling
down at another end of the brook. She took a small sniff,
assuring that there was someone actually there. And slowly made
her way down to them, standing behind them. She reached out one
cold, pale hand and touched the girls shoulder. "Are you
       alright?"

The touch of another caused her to jump, nearly out of her
flesh and into the brook. Placing a hand over her racing heart,
Elora glanced over her shoulder at the person that had touched
her, a young woman. A faint smile pulled at the corner of her
lips, though it did not reach her eye. These days, her smiles
never lit up her face, but were merely a cover to hide her
       tumultuous emotions.
“That would depend on your definition of alright.” She replied.
Elora took in a deep breath and slowly stood, turning to face
the woman completely. A faint smell met her nose, and her eyes
narrowed as she surveyed the woman. There was more to the woman
than met the eye, but then she understood why that was. Her
smile broadened, but only slightly, as she tried to bring her
       emotions under control.
“You are not human.” Elora stated matter-of-factly, her slightly
pointed ears twitching at the sound of a soft wind passing
       through the forest.

Insomnia couldn't help the giggle that escaped her lips as the
girl jumped. She was nothing to be afraid of-to women. Men,
though, were a totally different story. As the girl turned to
look at her, she gave her a small smile, looking her over with
       bright hazel eyes.
"Well," She thought a moment looking around. "Alright, would be
not trying to attempt suicide in the brook." She smiled, showing
       it was a joke.
Insomnia took in the girls slightly pointed ears and the way she
glared at her slightly as she turned to fully look at her. She
frowned slightly at the others slightly bigger smile, not at all
surprised when she stated that insomnia wasn't human. This
       caused her to shrug.
"Neither are you." She raised a brow, crossing her arms
       slightly.

“Well, that would be partially true, ma’am. I am half human,”
Elora started, using her hand to push back locks of brunette
       hair behind her ear, “and half elf. A typical mix, I am sure;
but you can’t stop love sometimes, I suppose.”
Her green eyed gaze moved from the woman for a moment, staring
further into the forest. An apparition appeared, taking the form
of her deceased brother. He charged toward her, his face twisted
by rage. Fear captured her heart, as well as her face, and she
backpedaled and stepped into the cold waters of the brook.
“No, this cannot be.” She whispered, covering her mouth with her
       hands.
Elora closed her eyes tightly, reopened them, and stared where
the figure had been. It was no longer there, but its presence
taunted her subconscious. Swallowing heavily, she turned back
toward the woman and took her by the hand. She guided herself
and the woman deeper into the forest, in hopes of escaping her
memory. The entire time, she shook her head continuously, trying
       to shake the memory free.
“I would never commit suicide,” She finally retorted, her voice
hollow. “The goddess would look down upon me horribly.”

She smiled hearing about the other girls species. "I had a
friend who was like that, back at the masters estate." The girl
had been sweet, short with odd hair and pointed ears inherited
from her elf mother, but otherwise human features-from her
father. She had been a bit of a trouble maker though, which made
Insomnia think she had been part pixy too. Her eyes glossed over
slightly. "She got punished for slipping water in masters type
B...negative, I believe. Nothing he despised more than watered
       down blood."
She blinked, giving the girl a wide smile, easily letting her
canines elongate. "I'm a vampire, now. I was human." She
shrugged. "This has a lot of perks, though.." She was babbling,
never really good around other woman once master turned her and
kicked her newly turned ass out-because most of them wanted to
claw her eyes out. Master had kicked her out and into the sun,
to burn-even though she'd built up a tolerance to it now, a
newly turned vampire does burst into flames. She had just been
lucky, using her new speed to run away from the burning sun and
into the trees as soon as she was thrown outside.
Her eyes had glossed over again, and she had to blink a few
times to force herself out of this memory. Once she did come
back to the reality of the area, she was no longer looking at
her, but further into the forest behind her. She backed up,
stepping into the small brook and causing Insomnia to step twirl
around and look behind her-though nothing was there. Suddenly,
the other female grabbed her hand, pulling her deeper into the
forest, shaking her head and worrying Insomnia, who didn't
       fight.
She gave a small snort at the woman's response, never once
having been taught to believe in a god or goddess-master was the
other thing she was supposed to have faith in. So, even having
been kicked out, the man who had been her "god" since birth, was
still her god now. "Well, I'm Insomnia." She said, instead of
questioning the woman's beliefs. "Would it be too soon to ask
       your name?"

While running, the woman’s species met her pointed ears. This
caused her to stop in quickly and completely, and turn her
haunted green eyes upon the girl. That could explain the
lingering smell of blood, and her slight complexion. Elora was
not afraid of vampires, but she did not have much experience
       with them either.
“I have heard that it does come with great perks. I have always
wondered what an elfish vampire might be like.”
After a moment passed, Elora swiped her hand through her
brunette hair and smiled at the girl. She wondered how old she
was when she was turned, and how old she had been before then.
The rumor she had heard was that vampires ceased to age when
they were turned. A bit similar to elves she thought, though
they did start to age after a few hundred years. Elora had not
reached that point yet, and was far from it in fact.
“I’m Elora, Elora Pain.” She stated quietly, looking off behind
       her for a moment.
The ghost was nowhere in sight, but Elora was still on edge.
What other secrets haunted her? When might the ghost reappear,
and what did it want? Shaking her head, she turned back to the
       woman and smile softly.
“I apologize if I startled or worried you. I…. I just saw
       something that scared me.”

Insomnia giggled. "I'd love to find out, too." There had never
been many different species for master's slaves. He'd try a
species once, and if they didn't fit his liking, he never tried
them again. It was mostly humans, though, so Insomnia had only
grown know a few species existed. Then she hit the world
       and...wow, it was different.
"The only down-side is that I'll be nineteen
forever-technically, I'm twenty now." She murmured, now
wondering the other girls age, but not wanting to push her luck
now and ask. She pursed her lips slightly, she might add that
drinking blood was a downside, but she sort of enjoyed it. She
got a power high from drinking for another being, and sometimes
the chase was exciting. She liked being stronger than most other
       beings out there.
So, there were definitely perks to being a predator.
"Its nice to meet you, Elora." She said, giving a soft smile.
Insomnia watched Elora quietly, not wanting to interrupt her
thoughts. It looked as if she were extremely worried
and...scared. Almost liked she was waiting for something to pop
out and grab her, like in some of the few horror movies Insomnia
had seen in her year out of Masters care. Her year of being a
       vampire.
"Its fine," She murmured, shrugging. "We are in a forest. I've
seen the horror movies involved with forests."

Elora was intrigued by the woman’s response to the thought of an
elfish vampire. She truly had wondered what such a vampire might
be like. She was already stronger than humans, faster as well.
Her senses were much more enhanced especially her hearing and
eyesight. Would they increase exponentially if such a change
       came upon her?
But her intrigued did not last. No, not when the woman stated
her age. She was nineteen when she was turned, such a young age.
She had not yet had a chance to live her life. Elora felt a
twinge of sadness for the girl, though she did not look much
older than her. But in contrast, Elora was nearly thirty years
old. However, those thirty years seemed like five minutes in her
       eyes.
“I am sure you are wondering how old I am, aren’t you? I am
nearly thirty years old, though I know I look about your age.”
A haunted chuckle exited Elora’s lips, taking Insomnia’s comment
as a joke. The look on her face, though, told a different story.
The woman was comparing this instant with human horror movies.
Despite this, she placed a friendly smile up her face. Human
movies never did capture the true terror of such situations, or
the implications that would be carried with them.
“Oh dear, this is much worse than a silly movie. This is my dead
brother, seeking me out for a reason I do not know. And to make
matters worse, he is proclaiming that I am his murderer. That
certainly is far from the truth.”
A sigh left Elora’s lips as she finished speaking, just as a
roar erupted from behind her, her brother’s roar. Elora screamed
and jumped forward, and slamming into Insomnia. As they fell,
she turned her body so that the woman would land upon her, and
she would take the brunt of the impact. The wind was knocked
from her lungs, but her eyes burned into the woman lying above
       her.
“Oh my, you are exquisitely beautiful, Insomnia.”

Well this was different... Rayne had been ordered to go to many
places, to accomplish many missions. But never had be been sent
to a ragtag place like this. Not only that, but he hadn't been
given his objective. REPORT TO THE REGION KNOWN AS "THE QUIET
LANDS. A MESSENGER WILL ARRIVE TO GIVE YOU YOUR OBJECTIVE...
Three hours had Rayne been in this land, but no messenger had
come for him. He couldn't help but wonder if this was all some
sort of practical joke. Two Katanas on his waist, he simply
walked around the lands, now approaching a small town. Perhaps
this was where he was to meet with the messenger. His directions
had been quite vague in comparison to his past missions, but
despite this annoyance, he followed them without question.
Perhaps he could find a coffeehouse or something until his
       contact reached him...

This land held true to the name it had been given; not a soul
stirred except for the wild animals within the sparse forest.
How had Deanna gotten herself here? Better yet, what brought her
here? Her older sister could not have made it out to these
lands, there was no where for the woman to live unless she took
to the trees but since they both came from a suburban family,
Rennie had no pleasure to find out here.
'Deanna......Deanna just give up already........ever wonder why
Reneta never came back for you? Maybe she didn't want you. Maybe
she's already dead. Why are you searching for a ghost Deanna?
Just leave your sister to herself.......
Why was there always that voice, the voice of a woman unseen but
always negatively nagging at her. The voice started when she
found her sister's picture and decided that she was going to
find her. But the voice, it made her second guess her decisions
at times, and on occasion, taking her off of the right path and
down the wrong one. That damnable voice!
