       Land of intrinsically acquired nature.
   DIR By: adrastos

       ---------------------------------------------------------
There exists a realm that is one of the most vibrant to have
ever been seen, it is lush with vegetation, then almost
completely lacking, and this change happens within the span of
one pace. While one is in the wooded area one can not imagine a
forest so grand and mysterious in stature and nature. The trees
are wider than most castles that most beings have ever seen, and
taller still, seeming to scrape the very heavens themselves with
the upper most branches. The smaller plants seem to defy all
laws of living organisms, for there is nowhere where the sun
penetrates the leaves of these massive trees to the forest
floor, leaving everything below the canopy into the deepest
shadows one could imagine, and yet ferns grow in rust colored
bushes all over the place, along with rose bushes of many
different colors and sizes, even the supposedly impossible black
rose can be seen growing under the canopy of trees. The earth
you tread upon is a mass of blue moss so thick that one feels as
though they are walking upon clouds, should one lay down in it
they would be so relaxed so instantly that the person would find
it hard to not go to sleep, having temporarily forgotten all of
their worries, one could say the moss has an effect similar to
what some call "cloud nine". A person can always hear little
woodland creatures around but can't ever seem to see them, so
one might begin to wonder if one had gone insane while walking
through this forest if one didn't already know the taste of
       insanity.
When one treads upon the areas that are so very sparsely
vegetated that one can't help but wonder what could be the cause
of the vast difference between these two areas, then they see
the behemoth beasts that roam this area, some might say that
they look like gigantic buffalo mixed with woolly mammoths. They
would not be to far off, the beast are known as Erginthals
though, and bear no relation to either of these two species.
Though this area seems to have been warded to keep these
creatures from encroaching on the areas that the forest
inhabits, whatever being created this realm seems to have known
that the creatures would just eat and eat until there was no
vegetation left to sustain the creatures. Though one has to
wonder how quickly the vegetation grows and how quickly the
creatures consume it that they are still sustained with being
relegated to this sparse seemingly wasteland of an area, for
there was nothing but dirt and scant supplies of water in this
       area.
After some more exploration, one comes to the other side of the
forest, this area seems completely out of place in this realm,
but also as though it belong here so completely that the realm
could not exist without it. The area you walk into is thousands
upon thousands of majestic waterfalls that regardless of the
height the water falls, the sound never gets higher than a
soothing sound of a burbling brook. Upon closer inspection one
realizes that in the pools the waterfalls land in are millions
upon millions of magnificently bright gems, some of which are
colors as yet undiscovered or heard of. If one were to feel
inclined they could lose hours upon hours staring into the ponds
of these waterfalls, not realizing how much time they have spent
and still never be able to see all of the different wonders that
just one of these pools holds. If one were to stop to look at
the "waterfalls" one would realize that something so simple
could not even begin to describe them. Each droplet of water
shone like a diamond cut to an un-imaginable degree, capturing
not only the ambient light and the light from the sun, but the
light from not only its own shine but the shine of every other
droplet around it, giving the waterfalls the illusion of a
cascade of diamonds rather than water. A few of the waterfalls
have space behind them, this space is made out of a gem that
resembles sapphire, but to call it that would be a grave insult
to the gem fro sapphire could never hope to gleam and glow as
this does neither could it hope to ever inspire the awe that
this gem does, it is known as Feraldamine, and is one of a kind
       in all it's glory.

       Date: September 28, 2012, 12:42 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
As Adrastos was traveling between the realms he felt
particularly deep shadows calling out to him, almost in
loneliness, though surely that could not be it, where there was
one shadow there were many, and where there were many shadows
there could never be loneliness, though it seemed as though that
was what the shadows were, lonely. He followed their calls to a
realm that he had never come across before and before he even
entered it he wondered how old it was. For though he felt as
though it were a truly old realm, he could not begin to
understand how he could have missed such a realm in all his
time. As he touched the outer most reaches of the realm before
it even became a realm he began to realize just how old the
realm was, for it was before the time of Chaos even, it was
before the creation of creation that this realm was brought into
being, it was of an age unspeakable, knowing this Adrastos could
not help but let his curiousness get the better of him, the
wonders that must be contained in a realm so old and yet
undiscovered were mind boggling even to a creature of his age
       and line.
As he entered the realm he was nearly overwhelmed by the
loneliness that the shadows felt, he went to them at speeds that
he had not used in a great amount of time, leaving not just a
vacuum in his wake, but a void of all things, that would remain
that way for hours while the time space continuum tried to catch
up with his movements. Upon reaching the forest floor he slowed
and alighted upon the moss, he began to understand how the
shadows were lonely, it looked like no new shadows were ever
added to this utter lack of light, for there was no space for
new light to shine and therefore no way to create new shadow. It
must be a truly uneventful and even sad existence to never know
anything knew from the moment you come into being, for Adrastos
at least, some of the most fun to be had while living was
learning new things. Though as he alighted he felt the shadows
begin to stir from their almost slumber, they sensed that their
deity was here, this was something that they never thought would
happen, and yet, despite the excitement it stirred within them
they were capable of only slightly stirring themselves. Eons
upon Eons, had left them unsure, weak, and slightly
       un-intelligible.
Upon feeling them Adrastos frowned, he could not bear for
shadows to feel like this, though he new it would take even him
a rather large amount of time to rouse them from the near
eternal slumber, though he began attempting it, first sending
tendrils of his own shadows which he kept housed within himself
out amongst the other shadows, then beginning to send pulses of
power through those tendrils. Knowing that this was the best he
could do for the time being he began wandering through the area,
eventually coming upon an area filled with thousands upon
thousands of waterfalls and billions of sparkles of light from
the water, and after a few steps, gems within the pools the
water fed into. He sat down knowing that if sun was touching the
tendrils he had sent out that they could potentially have a
greater chance of speeding the process along and bring the other
shadows out of their near slumber that much sooner, though he
did not have hopes for it being a short wait. As he continued to
send pulses into through the tendrils of shadows, he sat down
and Demarious appeared in the size of a normal tiger and layed
next to Adrastos placing his head in Adrastos' lap. "Long time
no see my dear friend Demarious." That was all that was said,
and Adrastos began absent-mindedly petting the tigers head and
occasionally scratching the tigers ears, as he stared into the
pool he sat in front of.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
The cries of the shadows beckoned Halimae's being. She felt a
tug at her consciousness as she wandered the border of insanity
and desperation. Loneliness... some called it. But, Halimae did
not necessarily feel lonely. No, she had enough company within
the deep well of her mind. And it's many daunting rooms.
       Rooms....
She had never used such a term to describe the many voices in
her head. But it was exactly that. Many room of laughing or
taunting voices, chattering, there muffled speech not always
audible. And she? She was chained in the hallway between here
and there, trying to discern the wise voices from the more
       malignant.
She pinched bridge of her nose as she furled her brows and
continued walking, trying to ignore the increasing pain in her
mouth, and the copper taste of blood on her tongue. She licked
her lips, desperate to wipe the coat of blood off her taste
buds. She could feel the blood smear onto her pale lips,
cracking under the sunlight. Her eyes closed slowly as she
continue to make her way between the tree line and the
glimmering opening in the distance. She could sense both areas,
the tendrils of shadow snaking out from her existence and
licking at the small dunes in the waste. She grew anxious the
closer she inched to the shadows, sensing a tremendous well of
energy within a being that also seemed to take interest in her
       precious shadows.
       A curse. A pity.
She thought, letting out a gurgled sigh, the blood already
coagulating within her gullet. The shadows were the only ones
who understood, who cared... they never left her... But
       sometimes, she wondered..
Are they driving me into insanity?
She inhaled a deep dry breath, and focused on shutting off her
senses. First, sight. She halted in her tracks and clutched her
chest. She was so close to the being. Concentrating, she felt a
numbing of her sockets as her vision began to blur and darken
around the edges. Her fingertips tingled as the power of just
one sense began to well within her limbs. They grew hot and
itchy. There. She would stop with that. Just shutting off her
sight caused her breathing to race. She remained still waiting
for the shadow to call out at her with bated breath. She had
felt the desperation. What had changed?
Just one last bound to cut the distance to nothing. A deep
       breath...
This will take more than its toll on me...
She reached forward, clutching the air in front of her. The
tendrils of shadow flailed, slicing through the light in attempt
to find her clutching hand. They stabbed through the air within
her clutched palm, wrapping tightly around her already pale
hand, desperate for her touch. It had been so long...
       So long indeed, my darlings..
She had them. She raised her foot in the air, slowly taking a
step, taking her time, releasing her breath as it happened. A
deafening crack slapped at her eardrums, a buzzing in her ears.
Time and air was as viscous as sludge, pooling around her,
tugging and pushing in all directions. And slowly, Halimae took
her step through time towards the being which sifted his own
       energy to her dear shadows...
I am still not strong enough for this..
The sludge within the cracks of time had finally had their fill
of her, a parasite or alienating object... a sliver... And they
spit her out where she belonged. She appeared before the being,
her hair whipping around her fragile frame, her ghostly and
tattered chiffon gown following suit. Her breath was held
captive, a lump in her through, her slightly parted lips covered
in a crust of blood. Her face held pain, and her mercury eyes,
curiosity. Yet, she could not see.
       This was a bad idea...
For, she had no idea what or who this being was. Would she be
prepared to die? It was to be known that Halimae Blackwood was
the weakest of the Gods, for her chest cavity held no heart.
Only a gnarled scar upon her breast. Finally, she sucked in a
breath, her thirst for an antidote to numb the pain was...
unquenchable. Her inhale was desperate, light an emaciated pup
bound to a tree with a meal in front of it. It clawed at the
unforgiving roots until the quick of its nails rubbed into
bloody nubs in its fur. The meal was her relief, and Halimae was
       feigning.
Finally, she fell to her knees, feeling the weakness take over
her joints. The lack of energy was painted in her expressive
eyes. She only hoped the being would understand. And she
       waited...

As he sat there felt a slight disturbance pass through the
shadows throughout the forest, it almost felt as though they may
have been reaching toward another being, though he knew not how
that could be, for he was the god of shadows, and therefore the
shadows should respond to no one else's presence, yet, here they
were, doing exactly that. He could not fathom how another being
could have them reacting almost as they did to him, for as far
as he knew he was the strongest shadowmancy master there ever
was, had been in everyone one of his lives. He wondered if maybe
someone had managed to match him, if that were the case he could
not help but wonder how he had no prior knowledge of this beings
       existence.
As he pondered this he continued looking into the pool he sat in
front of, it amazed him how there could be so many different
gems let alone colors in such a small space. He allowed himself
to be drawn in by the pool and the gems, knowing that if there
another being that had been drawn to this place by the shadows
they would have already felt him channeling his energy into the
shadows themselves and would find him sooner or later. Though if
they thought they would be able to find him unawares regardless
of how much attention he seemed to be paying to his
surroundings, they would be incredibly hard pressed to manage a
feat such as that, they would practically have to appear out of
       the ether itself.
He frowned for a few seconds, he couldn't even remember the last
time he had heard from his sons, last he had heard they had head
off together to dimensions unknown to them to try to make their
own way and train themselves their own way, they seemed to
disdain his kind of training, and so he had let them go. Now
though? Now he found he regretted that decision, sure, he could
probably find them if he wanted to badly enough, but he wasn't
sure how they would receive him, fathers and sons tended to
either love each other a great deal, or the sons ended up hating
the father, even when there was no reason for their hate, it was
merely the way of his bloodline. Though he felt the part of his
soul that was connected to them whether they knew of it or not
and sensed that not only where they okay, but they were thriving
and quite happy, knowing this made him smile, though he kept the
glow that that particular brand of happiness made him almost
need to let out, but he knew doing that risked hurting the
shadows for which he was trying to care.
Within a few seconds of checking in on his boys he opened his
eyes, feeling a disturbance in time and space on the plain he
was on in the realm he was in, no sooner had he felt it had a
woman appeared in front of him, her hair whipping wildly around
her as was her gown. Her face spoke of pain beyond comprehension
for most, though he felt almost as though he knew her pain, yet
he did not, her eyes seemed unseeing yet sparking with the
utmost curiosity. This is the being that the shadows were
responding to he thought to himself the split second before he
watched the woman fall to her knees. Her eyes seemed as though
to say that she needed some sort of energy, though he didn't
know her, nor what kind of creature she was, which made giving
her energy a very dangerous game, though it was one in which he
would play a hand. He looked at her and within an instant a
shadow curled around her body from head to toe, effectively
embracing her, though it was a shadow of his making, one that
could convey his energy as well as pure shadow energy. He began
siphoning energy into her, every kind of energy he had, except
for light, for that was an energy that had the highest risk of
killing most creatures, especially ones such as he and her,
those who partook in shadowmancy, for to partake in that was to
essentially turn ones back upon the light, so very few
shadowmancers were capable of handling light energy and he did
not want to accidentally kill this woman while trying to heal
       her.
