A Different Earth

Take the earth. Alter it slightly. Deep evergreen grass,
cornflower blue skies. Inky blue waters. All of it fairly
normal. Its the trees that will first alert you to the change.
The trees, from roots to the tips of the branches are golden and
the leaves are ice white. The temperature here is a comfortable
72 degrees. Always. Day and night. This Earth has animals also.
Birds, cats, dogs, rodents, etc. Only the cold weather animals
arent present. This world is free of war and pollution. The
towns are fully functional and contained. In this world mankind
has elevated to its best state.

Lowell watched as the sun slowly sank farther towards the
horizon. The summer sun gave him more time in the day to stay in
his original self, but once that sun was gone. It was that time
again, too. Tonight was the full moon. Heaven help the poor soul
that came across him next. At least he could enjoy the few hours
he had left of humanity tonight. It was short lived in his
world. He sat on a rock, watching the sun creep farther away,
his knees drawn to his chest. The sight would be even more
beautiful, if it weren't for the fact that it meant he would
rage death and destruction on the area. Even when he was human,
he was still a monster. He didn't belong in a normal society,
and it was something he seemed to be fine with. It gave him less
of a chance to hurt anyone else.
