Goodbye to Loved Ones, Cantus Lunaris

The young women lay in a field of tall grass and flowers. The
grass was a full green and the flowers vibrant with life. A cool
spring breeze swept across the field bringing the sent of new
life to the nose of anyone fortunate enough to be present to
witness this beautiful place. Though the young women could
notice nothing but the pain that filled her entire being. As if
a part of her had been ripped away, never again to return to
her. Her pale skin was a great contrast to the vibrant colors of
life around her. The tears that fell from her face met the
ground in a sweet embrace that brought more vibrant life to the
most beautiful of places. Flowers sprouted around her to make a
bed, as though the earth itself wanted to ease the pain of the
young women.

As she lay in pain he slowly appeared from the forest. The sound
of wings echoing behind him as if a thousand birds all took
flight at once. He could feel her pain. A dull ache in his heart
that called him to her. His eyes watched from a distance as she
lay curled in the grass holding herself. The bed of beautiful
flowers surrounding her. His eyes looked sadly over the place as
he stepped forward. A fitting place to lay his only daughter to
rest. Something he now was forced to to at the hand his brother
had played.
As he moved forward his limbs became heavy with sorrow. His
movements strained as he forced himself forward. Tears slowly
starting to fall from his face. The path to Cantus slowly
opening before him. He felt the strain of sorrow weighing him
down so much his heart felt as though it would shatter. His feet
dragged though the grass as he raised his arm to wipe the tears
away.
His boots rested only when he stood only a few steps from her.
He watched her unable to bring himself to speak. The thoughts of
the task at hand plaguing his mind so much so that it threatened
to chock him. He slowly forced himself to look calm as though
nothing were wrong. But the idea of taking Cantus from the world
pained him more than anything he had ever done before.

She held herself on the ground as the pain became to much for
her to bare. Then her head looked forward hearing the grass move
before her. As she looked the saw black boots only a few feet
from her face. As her eyes looked up she saw her fathers face
looking down at her. Her face showed every ounce of pain that
ran through her body. But still she managed a smile as she saw
the face of the only family she had in this world. Her voice
filled the air gracefully and beautifully, carrying the pain she
felt with it. A bitter sweet melody for all whom listened to
hear.
"Papa."
Her voice trailed off as she pushed herself off of the ground.
She stood tall for a moment, she leaned forward to give her
father a hug, but fell into his arms clinging to him as pain
shot through her. Her voice ringing out once more filled with
every ounce of sorrow that filled her being.
"Papa..my heart...hurts."
She cried into his shoulder softly. Praying for every ounce of
pain to go away. Wanting only to live happily along side her
father. Her body shook as the pain overwhelmed her. A cry of
pain escaping her lips.

He embraced her as she fell into his arms. He could feel her
body trembling. Like a leaf caught in the wind. Her words
strained through teeth gritted from pain. She said her heart
hurt, but he knew what was truley wrong. Her very existance was
screaming out in pain. Her life force clinging to her
desperatley.
He had created Cantus. Slowly grown her from his fire. Something
that took much time and effort. He was in a balance with his
brother. Their existances were tied with one another. So as
Landon had formed a life into the world from his ice so had
Kevin from his fire. Landon had created a young man, and in tern
Kevin a young women. But something had taken place. Some link
was forged between the boy and girl that transcended even the
intertwined existance of the Abyssal Brothers. Something so
complex to put it into so simplistic of words, Cantus and the
boy were destined to be together. The creation of soul mates and
the infusion of two bloodlines that were so powerful. But Landon
had ripped that chance away without it having getten a chance to
bloom.
Now Cantus was in pain becuase the one person she was created to
stand beside had been torn from the world be its creator. Landon
had absored the boy. In essence killing him and taking his power
for his own gain. Now Cantus had to suffer at the rebound of his
actions.
As Kevin embraced his daughter, felt her tremble, tears slowly
trailed from his eyes. He pulled her tighter against him,
speaking softly in a comforting but sad voice. "Youve been
robbed of you existance. Your fate stolen from the world that
you wanted to be accepted into so badly." As the tears rolled
down his pale cheeks he shuddered. They fell from his broad chin
and what was only a few moments dragged like an eternity as he
waited for them to hit the ground. As the padded against the
grass steam arose from the ground as the spots they hit slowly
withered to ash. "Fear not, ill take you from the world. You
will rest and forever be a part of me."
At the instance of his last words Cantus gasped. She looked into
her fathers eyes with confusion and fear as she felt the sting
as somthing sharp pierced her back. She gripped his arms to keep
herself upwrite as the confusion in her eyes slowly fadded into
pain. Not the physical pain of her life being ended. The pain of
betrayel at being killed by her father. How could he do such a
thing, bring her into the world only to end her life far before
she was ready to go. But as she looked into his eyes she
noticed, as much pain as they showed, as much sarrow as he
contained, she could also she the sterness in his expression.
The expression of someone doing something that had to be done,
someone with no other option. So her fear and her pain slowly
faided. Her eyes showed pitty, empathy for knowing the pain her
father would feel for the rest of his life.
She slowly raised her hand touched her fathers cheek. Slowly
caressing the tears away with her thumb. As she understood and
accepted what was happening she smiled and her voice graced his
ears one last time. "Thank you papa"
As she thanked him Kevin puched his claws further into her
spinal colum and severed the nerve. He watched as the life left
her eyes and she slowly slumped in his arms. The tears flowed
from his eyes in silence. He wanted so badly to fall to his
knees and weep. To give in to the emotion running through him.
But he did not. He simply held her and watched as her body
turned to ashes in his arms. The fire of life inside her
absorbed into him with all of her abilitys. Leaving the husk of
a once beautiful existance to crumble and blow away in the wind.
