       Water drill

       Hey everybody
       I have not herd any mention of how people put up their mast for
       supporting their windmill, so I thought I would send a little
       tip for making the job a lot easier and faster. I have been
       using this technique for many jobs around the home ( locating a
       cistern well ) which was buried about 5 feet under the ground .
       What it is a water drill ! ( least that's what I call it ) its
       so simple to construct all you need is a 8 foot length of 1/2
       inch PVC, and a coupling of your liking to attach a garden hose
       to  the PVC pipe. ( a shutoff valve is helpful but not
       necessary)  All you do is turn the water on and start pushing
       the pipe into the ground you will be amazed on how fast it will
       drill a perfect hole to the depth you want. I tried this at my
       new home for my windmill which was solid clay and was pleased to
       say it worked fine, though a little slower than at my house
       which is sandy loam soil. ( sure beats beating it in with a
       block of wood and hammer)

       Great tip. You must have good water pressure.
       I would imagine that if the end of the pipe had teeth and you
       spin it, it would be even faster.

       My kids put 25 feet of hose down in the ground once.  Definitely
       works.
