       Many thanks for all the reply`s guys.
       My thoughts turned toward araldite rapid which is a 2 part mix
       (resin/hardener) which I have used to glue almost everything, I
       know it glues steel to steel and wood to wood but you don't get
       a lot of the stuff. Sets in about 10 minutes but stays a little
       flexible.
       I can get various caulk glues from town but have never looked or
       needed to glue aluminium before so never checked capabilities.
       I am sure I would be able to get something like your `goop` but
       called a different name.

       I tried that with great stuff expanding foam you get in a can
       and it will still push out the sides not as bad but you can see
       the deformities in the wing . Now what I have been thinking
       about is making a wing former form out of wood and filling it
       with foam and using that as the formers

       That's probably where the primer would of helped ! but you still
       would of had to buy 2 cans of paint . You mentioned your wings
       were 1/4 inch to long for your straps; What I would do is sand
       them down to the size that will work unless you have longer
       straps . They sand down good on a disk sander once glued to
       formers, Just make sure you ware protective eye ware ! you don't
       want a piece of aluminum in your eyes .  just a thought to save
       you some money

       Had a little brain storm today.....It was mentioned about the
       possibility of requiring extra wood formers added to the
       inside(centre) of the aluminium blades to stop the blades
       crushing or de-forming......How about cutting 3/4" polystyrene
       blade formers, Double sided sticky tape around the formers then
       stuck to the inside of the blades before the glue is put on the
       TE.
       Hard to explain but sort of like the ribs on a aeroplane but
       made of the white packing polystyrene. They are very light and
       only along for the ride.
       Its just a suggestion as I have not started the blades
       yet.....Is it necessary ?

       I see what you are saying but I don't think it's necessary , I
       have not had any deformation that I can see on any of the wings
       . It couldn't hurt though, but if you deiced to put them in I
       would make sure you cut them short enough not to interfere with
       the gluing of the TE and make sure they don't do the opposite
       bulge the wing out where they are . When you do bend the
       aluminum and glue in formers  I think you will see how strong
       they are, but they have not seen high winds for any long
       testing.

       I can confirm that the aluminum SUT blades with just the two
       formers top and bottom are far stiffer than full length foam
       covered in plastic (as are the original Gull 160 blades)  I can
       take a SUT blade and try as hard as I can to twist it.  If I did
       that with the foam blades they would definitely twist.
       High wind testing will confirm the strength.
       The only thing I am seeing with the new 175 design is that it is
       less responsive, but again I haven't had decent wind in weeks.
       At 12 mph and over I know we will be glad for the more rugged
       design.
       I haven't needed any sort of wind tunnel in years of testing,
       but now I am tempted to rig something up.  This has been a very
       cool calm summer in Michigan.

       Thanks guys.....It was only a brain storm and once I have a
       blade bent I am sure I will see it in a different light.
       Be patient Lynx, I am sure the wind will appear soon but I know
       it can be frustrating.

       Just posting an idea, don't know if lynx or sut could adapt it
       to speed up the formation of the airfoils (see pic attached for
       a rough idea).

       thanks CG, but on that link, it says video does not exist.  :'(
       It says underneath, attachment deleted by admin !
       The spring steel in drawing above is only the former, ie part of
       the 'mould'. I presumed the finished airfoil would actually be
       stiffer, being filled with supporting foam, which was densely
       packed in, less likely to deform due to extra overall support &
       lighter using the thinner aluminium sheet?
