If it is double acting then 90 degrees.
If it is single acting then 180 degrees.

video example of pinned crankshaft, I had to order a center and
edge finder set for precision hole drilling
without the set it is really easy to drill a hole in the wrong
       spot ::)

The way I do it is to take two pieces of material that will make
up the crank, drill and screw them together at the perimeter
where you will remove material for balancing. Then drill the
shaft and crank pin holes (make sure your drill press is
       perpendicular to your table)
You can also take one solid piece, drill your holes and then cut
in half and then finish on a lathe, or mill.

Ahh.....drilling straight holes in the correct place. one of
my major weakness 's. Thing is , small bits bend slightly and
in soft metal large bits drift. A major headache.

Hi, the 3 in1 drill mill lathe needs the center finder tool to
drill the hole in the right place. When I use my drill press to
drill through large pieces of metal the bed flexes and the hole
is not perpendicular. I am new to manual machining, the test
cuts have revealed the problem areas, I should be able to
proceed once the center finder arrives and use the 3 in 1 for
       drilling and have better results.

we always see the good side of these engines (ie : minus the
steam) . lets see the R rated version.

Hi, re-worked the crankshaft, added small bearings for the
piston push rods and valve push rod on the shaft. I have to add
DRO's to the mill axis's and buy a milling vise. It will be
interesting to see if it does not fly apart at high RPM's.

Hi, not R rated but good for a laugh. I am searching for another
method to fabricate the crankshaft. I think I will start over
and follow my first concept drawing.
