I wonder how many feet of wire it is for each coil? I can only
find one pound spools.

This role has 752 feet and says it weigh 1.5 lb divided by 6
=125.3 feet per coil , but in his instructions it tells you to
fill the form so I dont think he knows, he probably works from a
big spool . Now this is just a guess

Each coil weighs 3.5 oz, so you need 1.3 Lbs of 22 awg. 22 awg
is 507 feet per Lb, so the whole stator has about 670 feet of
wire. Each coil has a 4.5" avg diameter, so each coil has about
295-300 turns. Counting turns would be tedious and not really
necessary. It's more important the wire gauge is correct and
the coils fit in the mold.

The reason I asked was I was wondering how much to purchase. By
the way the plans call out approximately 200 turns.
" at the apex. This is aprox 200 turns which will
give the coil a 1.2 ohm reading or about 2.5 ohms"

I weighed one coil which may not be spot on accurate. I'll
weigh the set. The ohms would indicate there are 250 turns. I
understand the importance of a 1 Lb spool vs more. Tomorrow
I'll clarify for you. Sorry for the guessing. I just don't
want to count the turns!
Using some math, it looks like a Lb of 23 awg would fill the
coils, but resistance will go up to 7.3 ohms. The alt wont be
as strong but it's still pretty good and will hit cutin at 100
rpm
