       Big Joule Thief Charger

Here is the circuit I am playing with. It realy is a big Joule
Thief or blocking oscillator. We take our wild AC output from
the turbine. Maybe just 3-4 volts AC and rectifiy it to DC. Then
we feed it to the Joule Thief where the transistor pulses the DC
through a coil triggered by a small base current. When the field
in the coil is energized the DC is blocked to the base and the
transistor turns off. All that energy in the coil collapses and
turns into a brief high voltage pulse. We use that high votage
spike to charge a higher voltage battery than you could
accomplish with the output from the turbine.
Once the voltage from the turbine reaches the voltage of the
battery the circuit is bypassed through the diode.
This will also boost low voltage output from a solar panel.
