Wayn State University Wind turbine

I was down in Detroit today and I saw this turbine ! Interesting
wing design most of this style, you only see 1 scoop per wing
but after closer look I noticed that it has a scoop on both
sides of each wing its a 5 K turbine

SUT, do you think the configuration of that one, will mean it
spins slower like a 6 blade?

Very similar to the Lenz design. These types have good torque
and develop some lift. The drawback is the rpm is low and so
they require more expensive non-cogging alternators. There is a
lot of stress on the rotor arms. I made one once. It seldom
made power because it turned too slow in low winds. In high
winds they are beasts.
