@lynx
Sent you a PM, hoping you might answer it.
Thanks

Just thinking theory out loud...
We know an EMF can be induced in a coil, whether it be mag field
past coil, coil past mag field or else an increasing or
decreasing field strength.
If we could make an axial flux PM Generator which produces 3
phases of DC(not AC then rectified), could this combined DC
power be put through a voltage regulator/limiter to charge a
battery directly? Single phase would be not use due to the peaks
& troughs.
See pic of potential DC mean voltage below.

We also know, when examining magnetic fields, we can manipulate
the field and strength factors.
See picture below, for approaching magnets, with regards to the
total energy of two permanent magnets:
At the top of the illustration, two bar shaped magnets point
with their north poles to each other, at the bottom of
illustration, the north pole of the left magnet points to the
south pole of the right magnet. The overall density of field
lines inside of the red marked area is higher at the top than at
the bottom. Accordingly the total energy of the magnetic fields
is higher while the north poles are pointing to each other.

We can also manipulate the field shape, by magnet positioning
alone...

Correct me if I am wrong but dc does not like to travel long
distanced on a same size wire with out voltage drop compared to
ac , just something to think about

Putting all this together, would it be possible to make a three
phase DC generator as per picture below?
You can invisage the field lines concentrated through the coil
legs???
You still have two set of magnets acting on the one coil, just
each time the coil is energised and de energised, it always
flows in one direction.

Hi SUT, just alternative thinking, not going to build, examining
possibilities of theory. Just trying to boost efficiency from
generator to battery. Inversion thereafter is another nut to
crack.

CG, but how can it be AC, since only north poles pass the coil
in one direction, so only the top half of cycle produced, or am
i missing something big?
As the magnet passes, it energises coil to peak voltage then
drops to zero, next magnet passes and it pushes voltage in same
direction as before thro coil, hence continually push DC in one
direction???

Thanks CG, something else i'm learning then ;D
I thought it just reversed to the zero line, hence still a net
push one way. I live and learn.

@CG,
The opposing flux fields would take care of not influencing the
opposite sides of the coil, by the way they repel.
